Well, if they paired up Russell and Coach, that actually might be worth watching....

For some, maybe. Definitely not for me. I didn't even watch the last episode of this last season because after Bopper and Mark were out, I no longer cared. And I still don't know who won. If TAR starts pulling in more stuntcasted teams from BB or Survivor or whatever-other-crap-reality-shows-there-are-that-I-don't-watch, then I'll just stop watching TAR. To me, it will no longer be The Amazing Race; it'll just be The Race with fame-whoring, obnoxious people. So not Amazing. YMMV, of course.

TAR ups their prize to $2 million. Curious development. There's also news on a few of the teams and a trailer, as well as more criticism from the Reality Blurred guy. Oh, and Russell/Dick? Not happening. I think Russell gets off at the mere thought of others thinking he's about to shit in their sherbet.

I'd say definitely within the next week. They've already announced Survivor contestants, and TAR is usually pretty close behind. I'm ready for premiere Sunday to be here (also since its the return of great new shows like Homeland and Once Upon a Time).

James LoMenzo! AWESOME. He is an incredible bass player and seems like a good dude. This should be really cool to watch.

The $2M prize is only if you are the 1st place team on the 1st leg and win the race. Otherwise you still get $1M.

Just came back from seeing ParaNorman. The pre show before the trailer had an Amazing Race promo. I don't believe they showed anything really new except at the end when Phil tells (I'm guessing) the teams about the 2 million dollars. It was pretty long, the creators talked about how they came up with the idea for the show and Phil talked about how it's like for people and that at least one person breaks from the stress. They showed footage of different seasons and different teams. I thought it was cool because I hadn't seen it before and wasn't expecting it.

Dave and Rachel must be groaning....this new wrinkle (2 mil to the winner if they win leg #1 too), came one season too late. Not that they didn't win a bundle in extra prizes, but 2 mil sure would have been thrilling.

I wonder if the $2 mil is in addition to or in lieu of the Express Pass.

It's neither, from what I understand. The $2 million is only awarded if the team wins both the first leg and the last leg; otherwise, it's just the standard $1 million at the end of the last leg.

I saw that. Wasn't expecting Jaymes and James to be there, they are definitely nice eye candy. Only thing better would have been shirtless Phil. :)

Problem with the commercials, or at least one of them: they tout a potential grand prize of "$2 Million Dollars." Maybe it's because I go through applications with mangled English, but nobody at CBS has a copy of The Elements of Style?

James and Jaymes interview. Get a load of the picture. They did research by watching all the previous seasons. Hopefully they also know how to drive stick and read the clues.

Heh. And yeah you could do laundry on those abs. :) The CBS YouTube channel has a clip of them during a challenge. I'm guessing that would considered a spoiler, but it shows they are a competitive team.

Q&A with Phil: Amazing Race's Phil Keoghan: There's Healthier Competition This Season

We have our first clue-misreading (or not-reading) already in the first leg and Phil was "really surprised" by the finish (taking this to spoiler thread).

Andy Dehnart craps on TAR. Again. To recap: while he does raise valid points and is entitled to his opinion, he does it in such a way where I'd have to resist smacking him. Actual quote: "The Amazing Race is lost in the woods, and I want it to die of starvation so we can just look at its childhood pictures and remember what we loved about it." Seriously?!?

Nadiya was the only real asshole I noticed in this episode. Maybe Ryan or Gary & Will might turn out to be such, but the former seems mostly talk.

To be honest, his sheer obsession is more comical than anything, though I think he might be view-count mugging at this point with that quote. No one would actually think that about someone lost in the woods in real life.

Especially since this season's been better than the last few. Sure, this latest episode just proved the international versions are right in adding extra miscellaneous tasks to an episode (which would have cut down on the time spent watching bus scraping, given a bigger advantage for the Fast Forward, allowed more chances for the positions to change, and made the elimination less of a crapshoot), but it's not as if the episode was any worse than, say, the scenic-but-dreadfully-boring safari episodes in Tanzania last season. And one of them won an Emmy.

It's a cry for attention. If you're concerned (the "you" meaning "any TAR fan with an IQ above 50"), start a counter-movement to block the Hantzes.
