That whole rant about Freeport was so obnoxious

  What did they say?

It was the uber-petite one (Ashlee?).  While she was driving to pick up the hard working girl (I checked out with names), she was aghast at things like "green fences" and wanted to give these "poor people a  hug" or something along those lines.  Daddy was all, "lock your doors!"

I'm not even upset about the "lock your doors" thing -- bc people have the right to feel safe in their own vehicles.  However, I didn't like how she was throwing digs at her friend for living there in Freeport, like it was some garbage dump or something.  I just have a hard time with people thinking their reality is the standard for the rest of the world and that anything less is just "uncivilized."  Myopic and tasteless.

Btw, if they are such high brow LI girls, they would shop at the Americana well before Roosevelt Field, but that's the least of their issues.

All the girls are annoying but Ashlee is the worse. She was super obnoxious at the nail salon and all her dad would say is how "fun" she was.

This was one of the most disgusting displays of human behavior I've seen.  This show is way too over the top...it looks like they all were coached by the worst of the Housewives, thinking they were making good TV.

Really, making someone carry you to your car because you don't want to walk in flats and then freaking out over driving in a not so nice area...what a fucking bitch!!!

What 38 year old man wants to hang out with 20 year olds? Don't even get me going on how disturbing that dudes comments were towards his girlfriends mother.

These girls are ugly inside and out!

In the annuals of reality TV, this show takes the award for worst ever.

Amanda's boyfriend is gayer than the bloody day is long.

The interaction between the short chick and her father at the spa was beyond creepy.   I can't even discuss making the spa manager carry her to the car.

The motley crew assembled at the pool party makes the Jersey Shore cast look like members of the British royal family.

Crap, what a shitstorm.  Now I know how Italians from New Jersey must feel, as a Jewish girl from Long Island, this was just so unrelatable - although I've been to that Great Shapes store to get bathing suits and underwear many times (never saw a gay man and his girlfriend and her mom there however).  I don't know any woman who still lives at home at age 28 and doesn't seem to have any discernible income (although I do think that the religious one - that is definitely cultural, and they do keep their daughters close until they get married, the families I know who were Orthodox from that area tended also to send their girls to college locally but the boys could go away - she was the only girl that seemed to have a decent personality however).  They just seemed so unambitious and pathetic, which isn't my experience at all from the affluent Jewish women from Long Island that I know.

And I agree with the PP - those women would NOT be shopping at Roosevelt Field, definitely Americana (Miracle Mile).

The one that got carried out of the nail salon..she does NOT look 29. She looks 35, at least. I'd even believe 40.

The girl with the gay boyfriend has blinders on, "single, 30 and desperate" blinders. I can say that, I didn't get engaged til I was almost 33.

How are her friends not judging him for driving a Crossfire. They stopped making those in 2008.

Ditto to most of the comments, including shopping at the Americana vs. Roosevelt Field.  I am also Jewish and from Long Island's north shore, and yes, I grew up with JAPs like these women, but this show takes stereotyping to a whole new level.  Plus the whole north shore vs. south shore rivalry is so tired.  Who really cares?

I also call BS that the only one with a job is Joey from Freeport (who they are trying to cast as a Bethenny type, IMO).  According to their Linked In profiles, Chanel works in TV production (including a stint at NBC U - home of Bravo), Erica runs an event planning company, and some of the others have worked in PR, marketing and run businesses, so I would even doubt that they actually still live at home and are doing the show to boost their profiles -  most of them have Twitter accounts.

Andy Cohen should be ashamed of himself.  Bravo occasionally hits gold with shows like "Dukes of Melrose", but this is the bottom of the barrel and I hope it gets canceled quickly.    And any real JAP would rather be dead than pimp herself on reality TV!

I grew up on LI (and still live here) and while I'm not Jewish, I'm mortified at how this is making us LI girls look. We are NOT all like this, I swear!

Me too!!  I am so mortified by what I saw, I had seen the preview and then watched about 15 mins of it, and had to turn it off. I was so disgusted. People already roll their eyes sometimes when I tell them where I am from, this is not going to help and i'm NOTHING like any of these girls.

Couldn't keep these girls straight for the life of me.  They look too alike.

I thought so from the commercials I saw, with all the 80's headbands and butt-ugly chicks. I won't waste any time watching this dreck. Andy Cohen will put anything on tv to see what sticks...

How is it possible that blond girl doesn't realize her boyfriend is as gay as Lance Bass?

Seriously! He likes that she's young and (I guess) hot, because he's 38 and never been married and doesn't want to enter "confirmed bachelor" status with his family, is my best guess. She likes him because he takes her shopping and out to nice restaurants because he's more established in his career than guys her own age.

Ashlee is the worst, and she thinks she's just adorable. There were too many times to count when she thought she was being cute and the people around her were just rolling their eyes. When she asked if they had high heeled flip-flops, when she made the guy carry her to the car, when she was "charming" her way into the store to look at dresses...and did anyone else think Ashlee was an old woman when she opened the gate to come to the pool party? I was thinking, "oh, someone's aunt was invited to the party..."

ETA that I just realized who Jeff reminds me of: He's Louis Litt!

While I don't live there anymore, I grew up on Long Island and thought I MIGHT like this show because of that.  I only watched a small part of it today, but I also am mortified and won't be watching anymore.   The girl driving through Freeport like it was war-torn Syria - really - come one  - how ridiculous.

How can Andy Cohen criticize Theresa Guidice for being anti-Semitic for her comment that all her Jewish friends told her to leave Joe, when Andy shows THIS?  I'm surprised that the Anti-Defamation League hasn't been called.

I'm a lifelong LIer and while I have to say I know a lot of girls aren't like this, there are a heck of a lot of girls here just like this!  Had to deal with much of the types when I was in college (on LI, never left).  But I agree, I would've thought Americana over Roosevelt Field.  Even the shop that they went shopping at looked kinda meh and I looked it up online and they have a lot of midpriced designers (not talking any of the majors that I would expect).  Girl is better off just using Rent the Runway.  Anyway, I will definitely be watching.  I was trying to figure out which winery they were at during the previews because my friends and I visit a couple once a month on girls day out.  I am glad, however, that we didn't run into them during any of our trips last summer!

Bravo has clearly lost the Midas Touch when it comes to reality shows since they greenlit another mess like this. I couldn't even get through 20 minutes of this show, and I was barely listening to it. I'm sure P:LI will join the growing list of shows that Andy Cohen has pitched and failed to keep Bravo on-top as viewers continue to tire of the mainstays.

I wish I could unsee that.  I wish I could have looked away, even for a little bit.  But, it was just too appalling to peel my eyes away.  Those bodies! They weren't that bad.  But they shouldn't be in bikinis on TV.  Just... no....

Extremely unattractive people!  Shallow, superficial, physically unattractive.  The women, the guys.  That pool party. Fighting over who's talking to whom on facebook?  Are they kidding?

Why are the princesses' (more like dowagers) THs taped while sitting in front of their beds?  Are they trying to evoke a SATC vibe?  These people don't strike me as sexually interested;  they're much more in love with their booze and bejeweled headbands.

In what universe is effeminate, almost-40 Jeff such a sex bomb that several girls are fighting over him?  The previews really made me roll my eyes.

And most of this group are between 27 and 30?  Is that what hard drinking,  torpor and shallowly-spoiled living do to a person?  They ALL look 40+.

The previews also show a wedding. If the bride is one of the cast,  hahahaha!  All about the gown and gifts.  Will file for divorce within three months, probably less.

I don't think I have much to add to this! I caught it halfway though so what I saw was just the second half of this disgrace, and I can tell Bravo right now, I won't be back to catch the first half that I missed. What a bunch of phoney baloneys. Disgusting. Obviously they're being coached and prompted to be as crass and over the top as they can, like the mom in the swimsuit store using the phrase "cock block," WTF, and the gayvoiced boyfriend going on and ON about how gorgeous the daughter and the mom are, and the mom putting on some cougar act in the store, and then the big junior high argument at the pool party. Uh-huh. These girls (27 going on 47) must do nothing but lay out and drink; look at their skin. The snottiness, the haughtiness, the vulgarity of their proud materialism. It's just all so over the top and offensive. Bravo has already turned me off with all the Housewives shows, which I hate, but this is worse. Just as bad as the crocodile Trophy Wives show (I think that was The Low Class network, and the other show about the Jersey girls planning their weddings, also from the same). When TLC and Bravo put this kind of stuff out, I can't tell if they just don't care any more and they'll just broadcast anything, or if they're deliberately trying to create the trashiest crap that they can.

I'm not jewish but as someone who is mortified by and can in no way relate to the cast of Shahs of Sunset (bottom of the barrel specimens in one form or another, each and everyone) representing Persian/Iranians, I feel the pain of people similarly horrified by being lumped in with these vapid horrible people representing their culture and identity.

The cast of this show may be real life people but they are an unfair and shameful depiction of a vast minority class.  Made more inflammatory since, let's face it, we live in a world where prejudice is well and alive.

That said, I'll watch, it's a fascinating trainwreck, but fully aware that it is not a documentary.  Just as New Jersey Housewives, Married to Medicine, Shahs of Sunset et al are none anthropological documentaries either.

Have I finally hit my limit with Bravo??!!! Dear God this show is b-a-d. I'm getting sick of losers with big egos being rewarded with TV shows that play into their "We're so important! We have the life! Everyone wants to be us!" mindset, and consequently get rewarded with fame and money. I am so over it.

I can't tell who the girls are. Bravo needs to show their names at the beginning of each scene like they do for HWs. What is with the THs taking place on the floor in front of the bed? They want us to think of this as a "vlog" or something?

I admittedly have a horrendous gaydar but COME ON. That guy is not straight. Greg Bennett (Chris and Albie's roomie) from RHONJ says he thinks the guy's straight but I mean....really?!!And the girls are fighting over him?

My father grew up in Freeport so for some reason I found that obnoxious rant almost humorous.

I'm Jewish, was born in Queens and raised on the north shore of Long Island and while I've been away from there for more than 30 years I was still horrified by this show and the stereotypes it's perpetuating.  Please tell me these women are in on the joke.

Are girls on LI really this vapid and worthless? Try doing something good with your life, you are all DISGUSTING. I can't imagine what men would want to intertwine their lives with any of these girls. They want so much but have nothing to offer.

Who the FUCK is the audience for this. I'm not offended because the stereotypes are no more ridiculous than for any of the other "ethnic" based shows but there isn't anyone remotely interesting to watch - just incredibly boring stupid people. I'm a sucker for the BRAVO porn and kind of enjoyed Gallery Girls and Silicone Valley but watching this cast is worse than watching paint dry as they are boring and stupid.

The stereotype doesn't even make sense because the upper class Jews are stereotypically ambitious for their kids - is this the same as the Five Towns? I am from NYC and only met people from the Guyland at college and then of course when I started working. I've known my fair share of JAPS of course but the upper class ones I know were pretty ambitious - even if eventually they decided to be SAHM for awhile.

THe families don't seem to be rich enough for them to be able to provide the kind of trust funds that would enable a kid to grow up not thinking they didn't have to work. Maybe I just know the wrong people LOL but the kids (male and female) from the upper middle class (but not super rich) groups are expected to excel and this kind of failure to launch would not be acceptable.

My hometown as well.  I know exactly where she was when she made that rant... she obviously missed the left turn on Merrick Road at Mill Road when she got off the Meadowbrook, and turned down one of the side streets to get to Atlantic Avenue.  Her friend obviously was somewhere south of Atlantic.   While that area is not the greatest part of town, it is nowhere near as scary as she made it out to be.  Maybe, girlfriend needs to run amuk in Roosevelt or Wyandanch in her heels without being accompanied by a television crew and see how she makes out.  If she even tried to give me a 'hug' I would probably be tempted to whip out a can of "OFF!" bug spray.

Freshman year I got stuck on a floor with a bunch of girls from Great Neck, Jericho, Syosset, Plainview. So yeah, I don't think these women are too unbelievable. It's sad that they are acting like 19 year old sorority girls when they are pushing thirty. And it makes me glad I live in suffolk county! Although as a LIRR monthly ticket holder, I can really do without seeing those shots of the train. I get on at Huntington, I spend enough time on the train already.

Well, this show certainly showcases some class acts.  Cough, cough.

I can't understand why Bravo/Andy doesn't just bring back the Gallery Girls.  Lots of snarkworthy material and girls were vicious in a way even the most hardcore Housewife can't top.

Instead, Bravo has chosen to serve us this abomination, which is as bland as a matzo ball.

Oy vey, Andy, please make it stop.  ASAP.
