OMG, so much to say about this show.
I sorry but Cenntenial Park does not have the best reputation and I very much get the feeling that they are whitewashing their lives at an astounding speed.
Thank you! Just like every other show about some sort of fringe lifestyle, they are trying way to hard to seem "normal". I shudder to think about the real behind the scenes truths. It was repeated, emphasized and forced way too much that the women are the decision makers about marriage. BS. Women in these groups have no say about anything.
I too thought it was weird they kept stressing how the WOMEN pick the marriages. I have a hard time believing that - otherwise why would a 20 year-old girl end up w/ a 60 year-old man? I wonder if the girls THINK they've received inspiration from the Lord, then have to bring this to the elders and the elders will be all - "no, you're interpreting that wrong".
Exactly! What 20 year olds "inspiration" is going to be a 70 year old Grandpa with 8 wives? And if that was your "inspiration", wouldn't you keep that one to yourself? And let's call a spade a spade, "inspiration" is just really what the rest of us call a crush.
Loved the two wives talking about how "Poppa" had been a teacher at their school. Great.
I feel sorry for the older girls, they're practically unpaid nannies and that's going to be their whole lives, carrying for kids and home.
If you had to be born into this, being the youngest would by far be the best. Wowza, those poor older girls.
Second, there's no way Hyram goes unnoticed. He's damn near a GQ model amongst a bunch of rough looking inbreds.
Hello Hyram! After watching him for a bit though it appeared he was like a boy child in a man's body. Funny because if he were out in the real world, he for sure would be a big ole' player looking like that!
Rosemaria's family freaked me out and the Dad seemed especially squicky. I think they've all had lobotomy's. No one had a spark of personality. Even when creepo Dad came into the kitchen to lead the prayer, the smallest baby in the high chair didn't move and stared straight ahead. Freaky!
The two more modern wives so obviously HATE each other! Wow! And again with the tired line of how jealousy is something that a woman needs to overcome.
I think the Missionary group is just a way to keep the young, hot men out of the marriage pool so the disgusting old-timers can get their hands on some near child brides.
If plain, boring Rosemarie decides she wants to marry hot Hyram, can he say "no"?
