From Zap2it:

The designers must create spring looks worthy of appearing in the windows of Lord & Taylor; tension rises amongst some of the design teams.

Oh. My. God. Project Runway has had more than it's share of stupid arguments, but that "you said 21 year old" was the STUPIDEST! Way to make yourselves look like idiots, you twits!

I HATED Sam's! Homemade cheerleader costume. The flesh tone fabric was so ugly. And it was made poorly. It deserved the auf. I don't like Richard, but her dress was a mess.

Patricia totally thought they won when Heidi called their names.

Michelle really was the clear winner. And Lord and Taylor barely changed it!

Well, Project Runway, you may finally have lost me.

I've seen many ridiculous episodes of this show, but this one completely annoyed me. Keeping Layana, Richard, and Samantha together to keep the tension between Layana and Richard going was completely unfair to Samantha, and Heidi's bias against her design clearly was what sent her home. The Lord and Taylor woman said quite clearly that she preferred Samantha's look to Richard's, but because Heidi apparently knows better than the woman who runs the store/chain, Samantha got the boot.

Richard has gotten away with doing the same dress three times. I wouldn't even pay $10 for that scuba suit/beach cover up, whereas if I could afford it, I would have dropped some legitimate money on Samantha's dress.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm genuinely furious right now.

In other news, I liked Michelle's dress and was surprised that Stanley didn't tear Patricia's head off.

I call BS on the price point. Michelle's dress is retailing online for 259.00. But it was the clear winner.

Well, the last designer that I liked went home. Samantha's dress was a mess but I was hoping that she would get a reprieve.

Richard has over-stayed his welcome. Not sure how that maxi-length color-blocked jersey dress kept him in the competition.

Michelle was the deserved winner but I cannot stand her, her ridiculous personal style and her arrogant talking heads. I have a bad feeling that she will be the eventual winner this season.

I'm not sure that I can keep watching. Patricia is clueless. Layanna whines. Danielle is completely lacking self-awareness. What a miserable season!

Wow - I was kind of getting freaked out by Daniel's meltdown. Seemed like Michelle was trying to be very mellow about it, and never wanted to say anything negative about his work to begin with. Wasn't it Tim that brought that up and pushed her for a response? I loved her dress - thank God she gave up on the rain vest. But kudos to Daniel that when they hit the runway he threw major props to Michelle. If he was complaining that she knows how to design for a younger clientele, he had no reason to get upset - it was a huge plus to have a team member that could influence his work to better fit the challenge.

The same went for Patricia I think - I loved that top and capri pant, and thought it looked way better than Stanley's very blah dress. Neither team really worked that well together (at least from the onset), but once the women hit their stride, the men took a cue from what they saw working and I think let go of their preconceptions. It was nice to see support and happy teams when they hit the runway.

Losing team, not so much.

Ugh, I just hate Richard now. I vehemently disagree with the judges' elimination decision. Yes, Samantha's look was definitely flawed. I was screaming JUNIOR JUNIOR JUNIOR throughout the episode as her garment was taking shape. The final result looked like a cheerleading cadet outfit to me. The heart cut-out seemed more befitting of Delia's or Forever 21 than Lord and Taylor - even WAYYYY young, junior dept. Lord and Taylor. So yes, I agree it had problems. But I so more greatly valued and appreciated her risk-taking over Richards "Let me do black with a splash of color oh and look it's more color-blocking in a really obvious way" sheath. I really think Richard is bankrupt for new ideas, which is why I agree with Layana's case for why Sam should have stayed - I'd be so much more interested to see a collection or to see what was next from Samantha any day over Richard. Boo I say!

Oh well. At least my pick for the winner was the winner!! Ohmigod I would wear Michelle's dress in a HEARTBEAT!!! I loved the play of the bright chartreuse (and I normally hate neon green in any form) with the steely gray - such a cool combo. And I loved the bits of meshy gray - that took the dress to another level of cool and modern for me. And of course, you show me anything that is remotely mod-influenced and interestingly color blocked (NOT like Richard's version), and you've won me over. I agree with Nina that Michelle's styling choices were on the money too. Lisa looked great. Hooray for the ANTM alumna!

I don't know what happened with Daniel this episode - I had to feel sorry for him. What was going on with that "you said 21!" argument? For as much as it killed him, I am glad he destroyed that power-80s Dynasty jacket. I love me a strong shoulder - but that was just too much. His runway dress was so blah - even with the bright Pepto pink. At least the wrappy/darty detail made it a little interesting, and granted his model looked beautiful. But the construction esp. at the hem was very messy, and I think some of the darting and wrapping was a little confusing at some points. Michelle was right to say his first jacket was boring, but I liked that she made that comment with the idea that such a garment was a let-down to Daniel's potential creativity. I am just glad they both won b/c I am not sure Daniel could have handled a loss.

Believe it or not, I really liked Patricia this challenge. Stanley was a big old stick in the mud, and his dress while perfectly nice was borrriinngggg. But I really enjoyed this Patricia-lite look - I thought the flowy top with the different shades of coral was quite pretty, actually, and definitely springy in terms of its ease. Way to go Patricia (and she seemed to handle Stanley quite well, so she gets extra points there).

I like the leather detailing and silhouette of Layana's dress - but agree that the print was mumsy. It looked like wallpaper or upholstery material for an ottoman.

LOL at Tim asking Michelle was exactly was joyful about Daniel's pink.

So sad to see Samantha go! Blech Richard.......

That was some ever loving bullshit. Richard deserved to go for his threepeated underdesigned beach cover-up. If I bought that at Target for $20, I'd be happy. If I walked into Lord & Taylor and they were charging $100, I'd be livid. Samantha's was overdesigned (the heart was completely unnecessary) and poorly finished, but it was clearly DESIGNED. And Samantha had a point about trying to bring a younger customer into Lord & Taylor. Lord & Taylor skews really old.

Daniel needs to check his histrionic ass. I am not a fan of his Joan Collins shoulders and he does design old. I can't believe I liked Michelle's dress. Patricia is delusional if she thought for one second that her fabric creation manipulation techniques could be reproduced at an affordable price.

Agreed. The second I heard the word 'rose' mentioned, Ven popped into my mind (although I'm assuming that his origami flower would be pretty hard to mass produce).

I do NOT like Richard, and I hated his dress. But good grief, Samantha's dress was straight-up UGLY. The peachy color, the triple ruffles, the heart cutout, the cheerleader-length skirt...she deserved to go, despite having, in my opinion, far more potential than Richard has.

I want to like Daniel, but his dress wasn't well constructed and was borderline frumpy. I get it, Daniel, you dress "ladies". But that was boring, not ladylike.

I loved Patricia's top and Michelle's dress, and I can't stand either one of them. I don't actually like anybody this year, but then again, after Darling Deadpan Dmitry, anyone would be a letdown.

Michelle's such a liar. She hated the pink, but she wouldn't just admit it to Daniel.

Stanley was awfully stern on this episode. I tend to forgive him for it, though, because he seems to be a serious-minded type. I'm glad he approved of Patricia's final outfit so they ended up not hating each other. I think it was as good as or better than Michelle's.

This season feels like its never going to end. Why don't we just FF to a final three of Michelle, Stanley & Layana and be done already!

Remember when more than one or two designs were exciting on the runway?! I miss Bravo.

I disliked both Richard's and Samantha's dresses, but one thing PR has always been fairly consistent about is preferring bold-but-bad to boring. For that reason, Richard should have been auf'd ahead of Samantha. Don't bore Nina!

Maybe it's because I so totally can't stand Michelle, but I couldn't quite get past the color of her dress. The details and the cut of it were gorgeous, but I hated the color. And Daniel's was...not great. I wasn't in love with any of tonight's looks, but I'd have given the win to Patricia and Stanley by default.

The bitchiness and whining were out of control in this episode, which made it not very pleasant to watch. Richard's ridiculous refusal to speak to Layana, Layana's smugness and annoying voice, Daniel's insane meltdown and his tears in the talking heads, Michelle being just completely unlikeable...um, go Stanley! I guess.

Michelle's and Patricia's outfits were the best. Either one could have pick up the win.

Except for the colors, I didn't think Samantha's dress was that bad. That shade of blue with black and the odd beige color, it was a really ugly color combination.

Richard should been out this time.

I thought Stanley was really unlikable this episode, although I am glad he mellowed out in the end. And the color of Michelle's dress was perhaps my most fave thing about it, precisely because it was a surprise to me that I would go for such a loud neony green. The play of the chartreuse with the gray and the blocking made it work for me, which I appreciated because it evidenced thoughtful design.

Also, he was pretty defensive about it from the get-go. She looked really uncomfortable and clearly didn't like it, and then he just kept hammering on about how much he loved it. I wouldn't want to disagree with him either. It's weird, I don't especially like Michelle, but I thought she was pretty reserved with Daniel this episode, which made his breakdown about the pink and the happy clothes and the 21! Year! Olds! extra nutty.

[1] Was Tim wrong when he told Patricia that her whole outfit had to retail for $250? I thought the L&T person had set the price point at $250 for each piece, after saying the designers could make dresses, separates, whatever they chose.
[2] I loved Patricia's outfit and thought she and Stanley deserved the win. She also looks like she's lost weight since the beginning of the competition.
[3] That tank dress with the lo-o-ong peppermint fringe that Samantha wore to the runway could easily have tipped the scale against her in the end. Really unattractive, imo.
[4]Does Michele understand that she owes Tim Gunn a BIG thank-you? If not for his critique, she would have spent all her time on that silly rain "vest" and probably would have thrown the dress together at the last minute. Honestly, who wears a rain vest? If it's chilly, you want a jacket to protect yourelf from getting wet, and if it's warm, you probably just use an umbrella. Under what circumstances do you want to protect just your torso?

What on earth is a "rain vest"? Doesn't sound very practical. Wouldn't your arms get wet?

I'm beginning to think Richard and Layana don't like each other.

Daniel, Michelle didn't put out a contract on your puppy. She just didn't like your unsophisticated pink. Build a bridge and get over it.

I'm pretty sure I bought a much better executed version of Daniel's dress in red at Lord and Taylor back in '91. I liked Michelle's design although I could never pull off the chartreuse. And while I too though Richard's was underdesigned at least it is something I would wear. My 15 year old took a look at Samantha's and hated everything from the mismatched colors, the too much peblum and the far too precious heart cutout. While I thought the length was off, I'm not really sure it being any longer would have mad it any better. It was just a sad dress.

My favorite was actually Patricia's which I could see being worn by someone my age, as well as, a younger woman.

While I liked Michelle's design, I was a bit pissed at her belief early on with Daniel, that a modern woman wouldn't wear pants. I'll have to go back and watch, but at that point I don't think Daniel had decided on the pink, so there was no reason to believe a sharp pant or trouser couldn't work.

Sorry, that was ringing in my ear.

Heart cut out? How does one wear a bra? I mean, how does one who shops at Lord and Taylor wear a bra?

Richard. I would actually buy and wear that. Price point more like Boston Proper though.

I didn't think Michelle's dress was that original and I wish her smug ass would have sent that crinkly black vest down the runway in the inspirational flower challenge. And with that obnoxious kitchen pot scrubber attached to her head, she can walk straight onto the set of Cupcake Wars.

That was some utter bullshit. They are obviously only keeping Richard because of the drama between him and Layana. Richard makes the same dress he's already made before, with the same colorblocking he's used at least 2 other times, and this time made it even MORE boring than the first dress, and he gets to stay? Samantha's dress was actually my favorite....until she put the heart cutout in the back and then the hem was so messy and way too short. But I dug the concept overall.

Also, Layana need to STFU about hating pink already. Bitch, what color was YOUR dress?

Daniel was 20 lbs. of crazy in a 5 lb. bag. TWENTY-ONE!!!!

If I had the power to, I would've let Samantha stay on account of having to put up with two team members who basically used her as the messenger all challenge. She's one of the few sane designers on the show right now. I guess they wanted a drama-heavy season? But from a standpoint of the worst on the stage, yeah they made the right choice.

I wasn't as enamored with Michelle's dress as most of you guys seem to be. I don't feel as if those colors are spring enough put together. And the design actually reminds me of something Mondo made in Project Runway All Stars, minus the prints. I don't know, I just didn't really care for it. However, nobody's looks were really that good to beginw ith. They ranged from "Okay" to "Mehh" to "Awful"

I thought I was in bizarro-land with the judging because his dress looked like it was HORRIBLY constructed to me - and I'm not someone who normally notices construction issues. As the above poster noted, the hem was atrocious - it looked like it was just pinned. And the sides of the dress stuck out in certain places. Very odd. I thought his dress was more deserving of an auf than any of the bottom three, especially since he didn't have a particularly innovative design to balance out the construction issues.

Oh I agree!! My doggie sits like that too--we call it the frog.

I loved Nina's dress! She always looks amazing; poor Heidi must have gotten a new stylist (or is not using one this season).

I just can't get into this season. The caliber of designers is just not up to par with previous seasons. In the past, it's pretty much been a toss-up between the final 3--all REALLY talented, where any of them could have won. There really is no stand out this season, let alone a top 3 to keep it competitive at the end. I miss the Mondo's, Christian Siriano's and Rami's.
