I still can't believe that he decided to do this. I would've bet money on Cedric or Steve Harvey to be the first King of Comedy to participate on DWTS. If Bernie Mac was alive I can definitely see him giving D.L. grief for doing the show lol.

The lack of buzz and possibly fan base too means that this could be Cheryl's earliest outing since Season 9 with Tom Delay. She made it to Week 6 and 7 and Chris and Rick, but I don't think D.L will make it that far.

There has been very little buzz about him that I've seen, but he has over 100K followers on Twitter. Hard to predict if we count the fans he's got outside of social media & web forums, but we'll see. I hope he'll last longer than Tom DeLay did, though. Be sad to lose him that fast.

I like D.L., and I hope there are others like me, and I hope he's decent so he stays a while. I think if he's decent at all that Cheryl will be able to work with that.

He's terrible. I hate when they keep whiny celebrities over people who want to be there. At least Victor, Andy and somewhat Lisa are trying. It would've sucked to lose one of them over D.L.

I like DL and I hope he gets his shit together.

Surely he takes the time to watch himself on these shows. Presumably when he sees the edit he's getting maybe he'll have the insight to wake up, smell the coffee, and shutty because he is not helping himself with his latest wtf comments. And the going off on Cheryl because he wants to vent it not attractive either. He needs to find a way to get an apology aired whether it's in an off-DWTS interview or somewhere where it won't get edited out. That would go a long way on damage control and he really needs it if he wants to stay next week.

I hope he outlasts Lisa and Sean.

In the OTRC one, he and Cheryl both talk about the judges' scathing remarks. I do see their point. Throwing out insults at DL that the judges seem to think are funny was uncalled for. And it doesn't serve as constructive criticism for him to work on anything that they don't like. Also, if DL had had a chance to slam the judges back, well.. that would have been something. Judging is one thing, insulting someone who is trying is another. Cheryl said that they work several hours (forgot the number, but it was impressive) everyday. He does seem to be improving. That's what the show is about.

At least CAI gave him a bit of props for being on the box. If Saint Sean or some other one were up there, Bruno and Len probably would have been all over it how wonderful it was. BAH.

I don't think Tom should relinquish the microphone to DL. DL has reined himself in. If he did go toe-to-toe with Len, I fear Len isn't equipped to enter the fight.

Well Cheryl pretty much confirms the suspicion that the judges' previous marks (and possibly harshness) have reflected DL's lack of rehearsal - I'm sure he was still doing lots of rehearsing for a non-dancer, but clearly there have been some hours missing.

DL is starting to attract me. That's what I think is often so interesting about this show - I started off rather neutral and haven't liked the victimization meme (whoever's responsible for that -the show or him) although I thought he was sometimes funny. Now he's starting to look kinda hot...

Also, as I said on the results show thread, they must have got a LOT of complaints about Len's treatment of DL (I complained to ABC). That backstage stuff on the results show was very interesting.
