I'm excited to see what Jacoby can do on the dance floor. He's shown some good footwork as a wide receiver. I think he'll do really well on the dance floor.

Football players generally do really well on dwts. I think primarily because they are accustomed to tough coaching and game day pressure. Karina is a great match for Jacoby.

The football fans have helped several players reach the dwts finals. I'm expecting that Jacoby will at least make the top 5.

Hmmm, I initially expected him to make it quite far on the basis of him being a football player. He might still, but just going by what I know of him so far (which is limited), I don't know if I even see him making the top 3. He's not like most of the other football players. Someone used the word arrogant, and I wouldn't use that word at all. But he's very kind of boisterous, big personality...not the super smiley, oh so charming, laid-back type that typically does extremely well on this show.

Even if he dances well (and I agree with the OP, that he seems very light on his feet), it probably won't matter, if he doesn't tap into the usual type of vibe that does well on this show. I'm just not sure I see him as the typical type of charming football player. For me that's a good thing, but for the rest of the audience it's probably not.

I was watching Cheryl's On the Carpet interview, and she nailed it when she says that she believes that 80% of it is about what you see in the rehearsal footage & backstage with Brooke, and she looked at the interviewer like he was crazy and was like "do you really think that this show is a real dance competition?" She gets it.

He's got to play the game, and so far I'm not seeing that, but it's early.

I agree I think Jacoby might suffer the same fate like Chad. I think he will definitely make it to the top 6 and maybe the semi's but I'm not confident on him winning just yet.

Yea, after some thinking, I'm not as positive he'll win.

Hines and Donald won recently, yes, but before that the last football winner was Emmitt. Hines was lucky to be in a weaker season and in a weak finale, as Chelsea had the talent, but not the fanbase and Kirstie had the fabase and not the talent.

Donald was in a stronger season, but as a fan of the show, he knew how to play the game and is also a bigger name in football than Jacoby is. I mean yes Jacoby is apart of the Superbowl winning team, but I'm getting the sense, he's not as well known as Hines and Donald are.

I agree with you PBGamer89. For some reason I can see his personality rub some viewers the wrong way. However he's the best shot for the guys in terms of winning. I don't think any of them will pose a threat to Zendaya, Dorothy and Aly assuming that these ladies have the goods.

Well, that's not gonna be easy for him. Football player or not, he's still a dance novice and needs all the practice he can get. Poor Karina, first footballer and he's damaged goods.

I hope he makes it far. I got to meet him an he is very friendly and his personality is definitely eclectic, but I like it.

I think he will be fine with the fans. Football fans love him and I don't think his personality will be that off putting.

Behind the scenes with Jacoby and Karina practicing in Baltimore. There's some good photos with the article.

Goofy pic with Jacoby and Karina. I think they'll do great if they can keep this attitude.

The pic in the first link with the kids all over the both of them is cute. Jacoby seems to have a warm, giving, personality, so hopefully whatever boisterousness he has isn't too much of a turn-off to viewers. I still suspect it will be, though, sadly. All it takes is little shit, I've noticed over the course of this show.

Sounds like they'll be smartly playing to Ravens fans with their outfit colors. Smart idea.

I believe they're incorporating his little end-zone jig (called such for St. Patty's day, since I don't know what it's really called) into their dance.

I just wonder how competitive he can be dancewise only a few weeks out of knee surgery. Though I imagine his personality will carry him far, if not all the way to the end.

I thought he did pretty well considering he only had a week to practice. It wasn't the best dance of the night, but it was, for me, the most enjoyable.

It must be difficult to be so much taller than your partner. I thought his posture was pretty good, considering. And Karina seemed to do a good job of choreographing a routine that suited him without simply dancing around him (although she did some of that too). I'm curious to see how he does in the coming weeks. He has great energy and while his technique may or may not improve (I kinda think it will get a lot better but still not be great) he'll always be fun to watch (and listen to, he was much funnier than I expected).

I like his dancing, but his personality is really off-putting to me for some reason. I feel like he acts drunk or high, but that could just be me. His goofy droopy faces bug.

As I said, though, I do enjoy his dancing, so there's that.

What's Jacoby's personality like as a football player? I agree that he comes off goofy on DWTS, but I find it unexpectedly charming. He's having fun, but he's also working hard. It didn't seem like he did a lot of dancing in his rumba, but his movement was beautiful and he partnered well with Karina. I don't think that happens without a lot of effort from him. Some people come on the show and kinda of give a jokey half-effort which is lame because they're boring and/or awkward to watch. He's definitely putting the time in to be watchable and enjoyable.

If he thought he could come in and laze his way to the top, something changed his mind because he seems to be putting some of his chief advantages as an athlete to work - he's coachable, fit and coordinated. Still, his fluidity and musicality is a surprise. I was skeptical of him partnering with Karina (I have no basis for that, I just was) but they're great together.

I'm a Ravens fan so I guess I'm biased, but I'm more in love with Jacoby now than I ever was! I love his personality, he is goofy but not overtly so, he has a reserve to him as well. He is completely committed to every routine and seems to have no qualms putting himself out there. I don't see he arrogance or cockiness people keep talking about, more like a quiet confidence. I really hope he wins!

I alos thought that jump was messed up but then I recognized it. I loved it on viewing it again. I think its great how much trust Karina has in Jacoby's ability.
