As news of Seattle Grace's financial issues spreads, Catherine wants Jackson to move to Boston and the interns fear for their jobs; the doctors try to save the hospital by meeting with a possible investor; Jo is impressed with Alex.

If they don't make Jackson epically fail, I swear. No one will respect him because he has no experience, is still a fellow and his mom bought it for him. He's seriously my least favorite character so not looking forward to more screen time for him.

The rest of the episode I actually really liked. Loved the family scenes at the end with MerDer and Calzona.

I kept hearing how the ending was going to be surprising and I was expecting to be disappointed with Mama Avery becoming chief, but it actually surprised me. I look forward to Jackson having a story that's not centered around his looks or his relationship, especially April. I watch for he and Alex so the romance with their current and future twu wuvs don't hold my interest, but this definitely does.

Why the hell would the prestigious Harper Avery Foundation want to name Jackson as the board member to oversee the hospital? I mean, I guess I get it if they want to “keep it in the family” but Jackson doesn’t know crap about running a hospital and all of the administration stuff to go along with it. I half expected Catherine to do it, or at least appoint Richard as the interim until Jackson can get a handle on things. The guy’s a fellow and now he’s going to be in charge of the attendings? Haha I hope they eat his ass alive!

Nepotism at it’s finest.

I can't decide between cackling evilly over the looks on Mer-Der and crew's faces when Jackson was made the boss of them and groaning over the fact that they somehow managed to make having Mer, Der, et. all in charge of the hospital even worse.

OK. I did cackle evilly for a good five minutes. But I think maybe i give up on this show.

So I guess the Plausibility Fairy was on vacation this week (or should I say season?). I knew that somehow they would save the hospital, but the way it played out was, IMO, quite unrealistic. Not that realism has been a major goal of this show, ever, but still. I really hate when situations go down to the wire and then there's a miraculous save at the last second.
The Harper Avery Foundation owning the hospital has potential for some interesting stories, but I can't really see folks taking to Jackson as their boss. I did enjoy Catherine's "Give your mama a kiss. She just bought you a hospital."
My guess is that this will be the big factor that breaks up Jackson and Stephanie. It's one thing to be an attending sleeping with an intern, but the director of the hospital (or whatever title they give him) probably really shouldn't be sleeping with an intern.
Jo continues to grow on me, much to my dismay. I enjoyed her scenes with Alex, and I'm guessing the romance will probably start in the next episode. Alex really seemed to see her with new eyes during the crying scene. I know this "romance" has been shoved down out throats, but it's been a slow build over the past several episodes, which makes it more palatable.
And Alex with the "Adios Phil" kid was all kinds of adorable. He really connects with children, and he's my favorite character these days.

Great, they are promoting their weakest actor to the forefront of the show. Jackson is a smug asshole and I can barely stand to see him onscreen. I didn't think the ending could be cheesier than it was shaping up to be, but I never dared dream of an ending this crappy. I think this might just make me abandon the show. We already don't get enough of the main characters what with the interns and April's refurbished virginity, now we have to deal with Jackson. I really don't want to watch any more of that.

I don't know how these things work, but didn't Mama Avery say that the foundation wanted 'a seat on the board'? Even though she says that she 'bought him a hospital', doesn't that mean that he will be just one voice (although a big voice) on a board of others? And that someone else, probably Richard or Owen, will actually be doing the day-to-day running of the hospital? I know that a hospital board doesn't do things like schedule the staff, manage the budget, and humdrum chores like that. The chief of staff would just have to answer to the board and follow certain guidelines. Right?

I'm interested in seeing how this goes.

And, yay, a Sofia and Zola sighting!

Grey's Anatomy has frankly always been a terrible show with ridiculous outcomes, storylines and characters. Not sure why after nine seasons people are now trying to believe this show has ever made sense. People(I.E. Women) tune in because it's a silly soap opera. End of story.

Anyways, I'm glad they threw in the twist at the very end instead of having the insufferable couple of Mer-Der in charge or continuing to trot out Richard. Let him retire already for god sakes.

BTW Brooks new hairdo is HOT..not every woman can pull it off but she sure can

Well that a lame ending, everything is back to the status quo after pretty much wasting time on this dumb hospital storyline. The only question now is if Avery will be better or worse than Owen being an incompetent Chief.

With all that talk about Bailey being the heart of the hospital, I thought they were somehow going to introduce her to the investor guy, and that she would change his mind. Which is ridiculous, but jt would have made more sense than making Jackson in charge. I can't even imagine Jackson accepting a position that his family bought him.

Now, I feel like Bailey's going to be really pissed when she finds out this whole thing went down without anyone cluing her in. Is she the only main character who wasn't involved?

I really got a kick out of the fact that none of the "Real Doctors" knew Brooks by her name, just by "Mousey".

Alex and Jo are really started to grow on me. Alex deserves to be happy until the next implausible tragedy happens.

This hospital storyline better be done and over with soon. I'm not looking forward to watching Jackson alternate between boob jobs and the boardroom, keeping the same surly, constipated expression on his face the whole time.

I am glad they didn't drag out the fake Owen/Cristina drama. I loved the Avery twist. I liked the tension building, even when we knew there was no risk of MWSG being closed. Loved the family scenes. Loved Tina/Mousey's new haircut.

Great episode.

Will they still call it Seattle Grace Mercy West? I wonder if they'll change it to something connected to the Harper Avery Foundation, reflect a little glory from the foundation's prestige since the hospital's reputation has been so battered.

Oh show, how far you've fallen. It's the first time in ages I've caught the show live, why did I bother?

Hopefully the circus that has been the selling of the hospital is over now, please can it be over? I want to get back to interesting patient storylines with the main characters. I don't care about ANY of the interns and April and the Avery's can take a hike too. They need to be in the background.

Alex's patient fell flat, the chemistry between him and Jo is DOA. It's unfortunate, I want to root for her, mostly because Alex needs a love interest or he gets no screen time. However, she's not it!

The scenes outside the hospital seemed very overdone, not even Dempsey in a suit and all the girls with their luscious hair could save it. The dialogue was crappy, it was BORING!

Also, was this Cahill character supposed to be something special? Did I miss something? Is she gone for good now? What did she add to the show?

Zola made an appearance. It was marred by the fact that Meredith and Derek are not allowed to have an actual conversation together, or allowed to look at each other. Zola was a prop and the scene felt like an obligatory bookend.

Do better, show, you're losing me.

Always nice seeing Alex with kids. I liked the last Alex and Jo scene even though Jo was crying again.

I liked Richard and Bailey.

Heather and Shane were likeable.

I didn't care for anything else. I was hoping the group would buy the hospital and the storyline would fade away, not continue with Jackson in charge. Alex, Bailey and even April should run. They are the only ones without a stake in things at this point.

I was surprised by the ending. I was expecting Catherine involved, not her handing it over to Jackson.

I don't know how these things work, but didn't Mama Avery say that the foundation wanted 'a seat on the board'? Even though she says that she 'bought him a hospital', doesn't that mean that he will be just one voice (although a big voice) on a board of others? The chief of staff would just have to answer to the board and follow certain guidelines. Right?

She did say the foundation wanted a seat on the board. I think she said "your board" so I took it as the others would all also be on the board as the old board would be gone with the sale. If that is the case I don't see what the problem is. Jackson has no less experience than either Meredith or Cristina. The difference is where his money comes from, there's from suing the hospital and his from his family's foundation. Its nepotism but that's nothing new in the Grey's world at all.

I'm a bit interested to see what plays out with the group having to run things with one outside the group but mostly I still just want the storyline done and over with. My guess is by the end of the season it will be like the crash and all of this lawsuit/new management never even happened.

Some good moments here and there but overall it was kind of dull. It was nice to see Zola and Sofia to remind us they exist. I also like Callie and Arizona talking about their future when they thought the sale wasn't happen, like normal people. As always, I liked Alex's scenes the best and hope there's more to come in the next few episodes.

I swear, when decisions like letting Jackson sit on the board while saying "Mommy got you a hospital" makes me fully believe that SGMWH deserves all the shit it gets thrown at. Really.

Best thing: Patrick in a suit & coat and Zola sighting. Also Richard. He was pretty damn good. Loved Alex and his patient too.

Terrible thing: the rest. I know I shouldn't even try to reason with this.

Jo is almost on April-level dislike. I can't feel sorry for her. She's brunette Izzie at this point.

I can't with Cristina and Owen. Again.

Terrible terrible terrible.

The episode was good except the end. Jackson can not be in charge that makes no sense. He has been a douche enough this season without giving him ultimate power of decisions of the hospital. Horrible idea.

Also was is it that every time Callie and Arizona seem to have a discussion about their personal lives Mark is always brought up.

I like that Meredith used Brooks as her inside source for information (this may be the first episode where I actually didn't mind the interns).

This was the most... un-GREY'S-like episode that I think the show has ever produced. (And they did a "musical event" two seasons ago.)

Some things worked, and there were certainly surprises, but.... this wasn't a great episode of television. And it certainly wasn't a great GREY'S ANATOMY episode. Although, really, it's been a while since this show had a great episode.

One thing I will say... I don't hate any of the interns. They're not favorites, but I don't loathe them.

I liked the episode. I was fully expecting Mama Avery to save the day but I wasn't expecting the Jackson twist at all.

No one will respect him because he has no experience, is still a fellow and his mom bought it for him.

He has the same number of years experience as a doctor as both Cristina and Meredith so I can't see that as being at issue in regards for him having any less respect than others. I can see his mother's money getting him there as being a potential problem but not for most people. The people we (the audience) follow at the hospital all were aware it was about to be sold for parts and all of them would lose their jobs. They know the hospital having to pay out for the crash was where the financial troubles that got them there began. In the end, Mama Avery saved their jobs so I don't see all that much hostility being directed at Jackson.

After seeing the others discussing how they need to hurry up and learn the "boring stuff" when they were down to the wire I'm convinved Jackson can't do any worse than they would without him. They've been seeking financial backing from investors yet they never bothered to learn? They thought the could learn it all in 20 minutes to answer questions?

In the end I don't think it will all matter anyway. Jackson didn't say anything. He just looked at the group and was as shocked as they were. He's never been one to ride the family coattails. I think by the end of the season he'll be handing his board seat over to either Richard or Catherine. I'm glad to see a storyline for Jackson that isn't about who he is sleeping with. The show has made the Harper Avery award a big deal from day 1 and they made Jackson an Avery so its nice to see it finally coming into play instead of being a dropped, random plot point.

I like Alex and Jo more each episode. I want to see more of them.

Brooks new hairdo is HOT..not every woman can pull it off but she sure can

Two frivolous bits first:

One - when I first saw what Tina Majorino/Brooks had done to her hair, I did NOT like it at all. By the end of the episode I totally loved it. Girl was rockin' that pixie cut. I think it was just too jarring for me initially. And two, I loved how Mer had to keep referring to her as Mousey so people knew who she meant. It was a nice little inside joke/nod to the fact that TM hasn't had the screen time that the others have, so it was easy to forget who she was. As well as the whole trouble the viewers had keeping all 4 of the female interns straight.

I love the way the interns were integrated into this episode. I thought it was kinda cool that Mousey was the mole.

The most interesting thing to me about Jackson is the Jackson/Catherine conflict, so I loved this twist. What I liked about it is that it somehow didn't occur to me that Catherine would go there - I just figured she'd put Richard in charge. And then when it happened, I was like, "Well DUH. That is classic Catherine Avery, there." She thinks by doing this she can control Jackson. It's just another volley in their ongoing drama. I think Sonny Boy will prove her wrong and now she'll actually have a HARDER time controlling him, not an easier time. It helps that I'm a long term Debbie Allen fan, and while I initially didn't like her acting choices with Catherine (I'm thinking the Season 8 episode where they're doing the penis surgery, and even early Season 9), she's toned it down a great deal, while still keeping Catherine's essential haughtiness.

While ITA that Jackson is a smug asshole and Jesse Williams is GA's weakest actor, both have grown enough for me to want to give them a chance. I see potential for both now, and if you'd have suggested to me in Season 6 or 7 that I'd feel this way, I'd have laughed so hard. I'm starting to see an actor who will rise to the occasion in scenes with strong, confident actors ala JPJ.

Now both Jackson Avery and Jesse Williams get thrown in the deep end and get told to, "Swim, idiot." Let's see how he does. Luckily, I think he'll work with JPJ even more - I predict Mama Avery has inadvertently set herself up for MORE, not less, of those moments of Richard and Jackson teaming up against her. What the show has done has created a lovely 'Careful what you wish for, just in case you get it,' scenario for both the Gang of 5/Group of 7 and Catherine.

Other things I liked about the twist: I thought the scene between Catherine and Richard near the end was lovely. I'm genuinely starting to believe in her feelings for him, and they've snuck up and grown on me as a couple. I truly believe she was moved by the things Richard said about SGMW and even if Jackson wasn't a factor, she'd have saved the hospital for Richard. The fact that it allowed her to exert control over Jackson was just a nice fringe benefit.

Saw the Richard involvement coming a mile away. Didn't necessarily predict they'd bring Owen in early. I have to had it to the writers, because in bringing in Owen the way they did, it further solidified the reality that I like him (and, more grudgingly, Crowen) again. There was something so lovely about that scene where she tells him what was going on. It just grabbed me. And the way he stared down Cahill and the board? There was something hot about that. I still don't see a way to solve the core issues between them, but I'm suddenly open to the writers giving it a try.

Thank goodness Cahill is gone. I have to say Constance Zimmer just never worked for me. I think I was supposed to be angry at her, consider her to have been a lying, double crossing bitch, but she was always too wimpy and insecure to portray that effectively. All of this would've played better if Zimmer and the actress who played the board chair switched roles.

Bailey broke my heart tonight. That last scene between her and Heather? That moment between her and Richard? Both had me sighing. Her yelling at Owen was classic and I howled with laughter. Chandra Wilson reminded me tonight that Bailey truly IS the heart of SGMW and it kinda broke my heart a little bit that she wasn't part of the group trying to save the hospital. I imagine they won't, but I hope we get at least a scene or two of the Gang of 7 - esp. the Gang of 5 - making a gesture to repair their relationships with her. I want to her Arizona telling her that she was the reason she ultimately had to fight for SGMW. I want talk from Calzona and MerCris and Bailey about how they ARE a family, that SGMW is actually HOME, and they couldn't just let Pegasus destroy the place and let their family spread across the country. I want Bailey to apologize for her fear coming off as excess snark, because she did cross the line a wee bit into victim blaming.

The Calzona family moment was super sweet and much needed. And while I understand why some feel frustrated to have Mark mentioned in yet another Calzona scene, this time it felt authentic and right. They were thinking they'd need to move. Part of the practicalities of that is selling Mark's place so they can add that money to Sofia's trust. It was also a wonderful contrast to the way the topic of Mark was dealt with in 9x3. There was something so lovely about the way AZ handled that part of the convo re: selling Mark's place. JCap played that beautifully.... it was totally AZ protecting someone she loves, fully being 'back', being her wife and being present for Callie. The mention of Mark was to show that AZ has evolved enough that she's truly at peace with Mark's place in their lives.

The extra moments of affection that JCap and SaRa gave us - the hugs in the background, etc., were also a nice touch. While I was fine with how Calzona were written last week, I do think it was nice to show this week that despite the stress of this situation, they're solid, and they'd have remained solid regardless - had it not ended the way it did, AZ wouldn't have held it against Callie.

I don't hate the Jackson/April or Alex/Jo pairings. They are both, in fact, growing on me. I thought the two couples had lovely moments tonight. I just don't have any kind of real investment in them. I am not seeing MFEO or Meant To Be with them.

I liked that Steph/Leah dynamic. They make good frenemies. Not sure I see them ever becoming real friends, ala Mer/Cris. I loved Dr. Ross tonight. Gaius Charles truly is a wonderful actor. Big problem for me is keeping all, or even 4, of the interns doesn't work imo. I really only see room for 2, maybe 3.

I was ecstatic!!! What happened? I can't enjoy the show anymore or the episode was really horrible? I liked last week's so much! Anticlimactic?

So, they're putting their millions on Jackson's hands??? Webber's face told everything.

Doesn't Jo stop crying ever? She's ruining my Alex.

Owen saying to Cristina with Sharp teeth he didn't need her protection!!! Really? What did that mean? I see...or foresee...

The survivors meeting a potential shark investor without doing properly homework! That only goes to show how unprepared they all are. I hope they don't regret this in the future.

Bailey's punishment for being rude, selfish and insensitive towards the survivors came. Left out of something so big about a hospital she has been given her sweat and blood for years maybe is the way she refocus again. She has been impossible this season.

Don't care about Jackson's sex life at all.

And as I predicted the bunch will be the minor shareholders in that business. Meaning, they'll have none or very little saying in the management process. If the management boards jump the shark they all can loose the invested Money further down the line.

There were only two seats available in the chopper and the picked ones were the man. Woman were down looking up to the sky with their 'passive way'. Sexist much?!

There were some really bad exposition scenes in this episode, especially the one between Roma Maffia and Cahill.

I got the feeling from Richard's look at the end there that he was assuming his girlfriend would put him in charge. Oops!

The biggest problem I have with Jackson being in charge is who is going to say no to him? I mean, he's only a freaking fellow, so he isn't suddenly going to be the omniscient plastic surgeon who can do no wrong. Who is there to check him when he gets too cocky (a quality already painfully evident with him this season)?

Will they still call it Seattle Grace Mercy West?

I will laugh my ass off if they just keep piling names on and we end up with the Avery Harper Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital. I look forward to seeing all that stitched on the scrubs and a logo that's just a block of text.

I am not sure exactly what this will ultimately mean for Avery, but I have a feeling that any little bit of power will be an issue. In his defense, he didn't look happy about this decision so maybe he will try to be hands off. Heh, of course, even if he starts that direction he will end up cracking the whip when he gets annoyed.

I was hoping the big twist would be Preston Burke. As soon as Catherine Avery appeared, it was obvious that the HA Foundation was going to save the day so I had a small, fleeting hope that Burke (as an HA recipient) would walk in and take over.

Yes, IW will never again be seen on GA, but that was my little hope last night.

Other than that, I want Mousey's haircut and that's all I took from the rest of the show.
