I flipped channels a bit but wish they would have shown Tierra saying "these cookies taste like sh*t!" that was shown once in a preview clip. We really didn't get much new except Lesley trying to be sexy with a brownie(?!).

Sarah and Lesley were america's favorite? Gag me. I don't want to watch either of those seasons. Sarah is way too dry and earnest and Lesley is was too self conscious.
Is it sad that I kinda wanted more Tierra?

Sean & Nate had a very friendly & bro-type exchange before dinner....then the whole situation went 180 degrees...Nate went in accusing & nasty. Obviously, the producers told him they needed DRAMA for that part of the visit.
I'm glad Sean saw all the nasty Tierra stuff....I just wish they'd recognized that NONE of Tierra's crying actually produced tears. *LOL*
The tweets scrolling across the bottom of the screem were funny...I'm glad they included them.

Most of the interview portions - both questions and answers - were worded as though Sean has seen all the episodes aired to date. That would mean that this has to have been taped just in the last few days, and even then, if it taped before yesterday, they would have had to have had an early cut of last night's ep to show Sean.
So then why is Chris asking Sean, in present tense, "So you still don't know who you're going to pick?" Hasn't it all been in the can for several months now? Aren't we now in the phase where he & the "winner" are having their secret rendevous around the country and trying to get to know each other for real?
Isn't it done? Isn't he now with his final one? If so, A/ maybe I misinterpreted Chris' question above, and he'd phrased it that, "At this point in the filming ..." or some such. However, B/ does anyone else find it strange then, that Chris didn't ask him, in absolute present tense, about how Sean and his lady love are now? Doesn't Chris usually ask the B/ette to kind of tease us a bit during this show?, i.e. How are things? Did you make the right decision?, etc?
I'll admit I haven't watched very many seasons of this lovefest, but ... ahm confused??

Also, the more they tell me how respectful they were and how they treated Sarah just like they treated everyone else the less I believe it. The show took every opportunity they could to zoom in on her arm (often literally).

I can't believe I'm actually taking the time to analyze Sean's behavior, but I don't think this is going to work out for him. He always seems to give up on women when, for whatever reason, they disappoint him or don't live up to his expectations. That's a slippery slope to never being happy and to hurting lots of people. He may need to grow up more and learn that a real relationship involves compromise and give-and-take. Or maybe that's just the problem with this whole stupid franchise which turns "love" into a competition. And yet, I watch.
Also, Des's brother Nate is psychotic. If I were Sean I'd wanna sleep with one eye open for awhile.

This is the first time we got a show like this, so we can see if he asks at the end of the women tell all. However, if there's NOT a happy ending, they usually avoid the question. Plus, they seem to want to play up the note at the FRC as a potential Dear John letter (although I'm guessing it's quite the opposite), so that might be another reason they don't want to clue in on his happiness or lack thereof.
I missed the first 15 mins, and based on the 45 mins I did see, I presumed I didn't miss anything. But I guess that's when they discussed Des's brother? Did Sean feel like he made a mistake sending her home, or did he not go into that?

I lost a lot of respect for Sean last night for insulting Des's brother. C'mon, he can't handle a brother being protective of his sister? Especially when he admitted Des was not the girl for him. He called the brother a jackass. Why, for not liking that this reality show guy was going to break his sister's heart? He was insulted that Nate called him a playboy and wanted to hit him. Since when is being called a playboy such an insult that it warrants even the thought of physical violence? Grow up.
I think he should be with Catherine. She seems silly and manipulative enough for him.

So, was Nathan a bit Jersey Shore about it? Sure. But, bottom line, every single thing he said was true. Playboy, by definition, is a guy who serial dates a lot of women, often at the same time. Uh....bingo! And I agree with with MommaLode - since when is that term so heinous an insult that it warrants a physical beat down? What WAS insulting? Sean not only replaying his cruel "this is all about my pain" good-bye to Des, but piling on more details on why she wasn't woman enough for him. Just...wow.
And then does the same to Sarah by claiming that not only was she not right for me, her kisses suck. Oh, and Sean? When you're saying that watching Sarah's weeping confession on hating being dumped with the same tired line over and over "ripped your heart out" -- try not to chuckle as you say that, mkay? Also patronizing? Him telling Sarah it's okay honey, some guy will love you. Shut up, Sean. (And I'm no fan of Tierra's behavior but also patronizing? "I hope she learned something about herself." Wow squared. And here we were hoping, as you watched it back and realized the fault in keeping her around lay exclusively with you...that maybe you'd learned something about yourself." And yet....)
My thoughts were they got Sean to back up the bus and roll over both Des and Sarah some more so we would feel that much sorrier for them...and up their potential ante as future bachelorettes. Just my take.

It's a standard reality-TV device to treat everything as if it's happening in real time. Acknowledging that everything we see is stale footage that has been edited to fit some storyline breaks down the 4th wall and puts distance between us and Sean.So then why is Chris asking Sean, in present tense, "So you still don't know who you're going to pick?" I might have also IF they hadn't chosen to use white type on yellow background. People w/o a big screen hi-def TV couldn't read a single word. (Me.)I loved the tweets during the show.
I didn't have a problem with Chris asking Sean questions in the tense needed for the time period in which the show aired. Regardless of when it was filmed, TPTB wanted it to look like it happened the day after Des was let go, meaning LIVE.
Des' brother was a jerk in how he expressed his opinion of Sean to Sean but Sean was no better in not expressing how he felt about Des back to Nathan. He didn't say anything back, just sat there, then confesses later that he wanted to punch Nathan. WTH? I want a man who can verbalize his feelings (remember JP and Ashley's sister?) and not have some knee-jerk cave man reaction.
Sean did say, in reply to Chris's question, that Nathan was the reason he dumped Des. Her family thanks you, Sean, for ruining all family get-togethers for the next decade. Or at least until Des realizes she dodged a bullet and she thanks Nathan for his candor.
Interesting that the man with the lizard tongue dumps women who cannot kiss to his standard.
Of course, I'm basing my comments on what the editors have chosen to let me see.

Yes, his response seemed very immature. I don't think Sean is all that bad, but he does come across as used to being the "golden boy" and automatically liked. I don't think he and the brother are operating on the same socio-economic level in terms of communication style, as other posters pointed out. But I would want a man who is mature enough to (a) recognize that and (b) accomodate it with some maturity and grace. Underneath the disparity in style was a brother who seemed concerned about his sister and who put his affection for his sister ahead of the opinion of the (more accomplished, better looking, better educated, and more successful) guy he'd just met. And I think it caught Sean off-guard that the brother wasn't more defferent to Sean, as Sean saw himself a few notches higher and expected more respect, if not kowtowing. Not a great look for the brother - who appeared angry, rude, clueless, and problematic - and not a great look for Sean.
I've never liked Des though - something is off about her, although I can't put my finger on it - so no big loss.
I think Sean bristled at the brother's comments because they hit too close to home. You ARE a playboy you idiot. You are dating multiple women at the same time. During this season there have been nights when you kiss and make out with five or six different women over several hours. Yes, it's part of the show but you have to live with the fact that it makes you a player.
So, was Nathan a bit Jersey Shore about it? Sure. But, bottom line, every single thing he said was true. Playboy, by definition, is a guy who serial dates a lot of women, often at the same time. True. And I don't think Sean sees himself that way - or wants to. So it's a truth that he's not happy to have to face.
AshLee is 19 sheets to the wind and absolutely insane. And two-faced. And odd. And while I liked her mom and wanted to like her dad, that relationship and the way it was referenced was off. I've been around church people who overly sexualize everything to do with a young woman - and who would be so scandalized by divorce that they'd throw their hands in the air and be okay with their daughter doing "The Bachelor" if it would keep her out of trouble. And they're still good people who take in foster children with debilitating issues and trauma. It's a gray area, and I could see her parents falling into that demographic.
But I can't picture a girl from that demographic describing her dates in that detail to the parents. That was so incredibly odd on all levels. Was she trying to make daddy jealous? Was she rebelling about their (I assume) more conservative beliefs about pre-marital contact? Was she trying to amp up the relationship to show that Sean really was into her to her parents because of the "rolling around"? Just odd.
Tierra would make for a happier, lower-maintnenace marriage than AshLee. Any of the girls would. Sean needs to run and fast. Or get a degree in psychology.
.My thoughts were they got Sean to back up the bus and roll over both Des and Sarah some more so we would feel that much sorrier for them...and up their potential ante as future bachelorettes. Just my take
You're probably right, but I hope not. I can't imagine a more painful season than Des' twitchy, tweaky, awkward flopping all over the screen for a seaon. And Sarah - good grief. I have a feeling that once she's the star of the show, all of her human-ness (for lack of a better word) will come out, and I don't see her handling the inevitable flood of criticism very well. I think, like Sean, she has a rather indulgent self-image that won't allow for a lot of outside criticism.

I found it interesting that CH kept referring to "online chat" about the show, what posters thought about different situations, like Tierra being a producer plant. Because of that, I want to give a shout out to the PAs who are reading this now. "Say HEY guys!"

He always seems to give up on women when, for whatever reason, they disappoint him or don't live up to his expectations.
In Emily's season Sean told her about taking a girl home on the first date, in the middle of dinner, because he realized she wasn't, "the right kind of girl." I was reminded of that during the clip where he was eating brownies with Leslie. It seemed to be his idea to do it in a sexy way but she started to say something that was a little too sexy for Mr. Virginity and you hear him say, "It was fun until she took it too far." Yeah, Sean start a game, then humiliate Leslie and make her seem vulgar when she plays along.
Sean tends to throw all the women under the bus when they don't meet his standards and I don't think it's because they're thinking of bringing Des or Sarah back, I think their star was getting criticism and they were giving him a chance to excuse his actions. It just made it worse.
As for Sean finding Des to be too lower class, that may be the way he thinks but, in spite of his parent's obvious money, I would never call them classy. Practical jokes, bad grammar, and bad manners with Emily, all said tacky, not bright, new rich to me.
I can't stand him anymore. All three remaining women can do much better.

Sean mentioned that Des had said warned him a little ahead of time about her brother said that he had "gotten into some trouble". What kind of trouble? Trouble with the law, I assume? So we're talking jail or drugs? I don't recall hearing anything about him during the show. Somehow I'm not surprised. It was bizarre to learn that there was a first conversation where they were all chummy, and then the tables turned instantly. I wonder why. Wish we would have learned more about what really happened.
The most satisfying part of this conversation was learning that Sean finally realizes he was duped by Tierra. Everybody else he is always very complimentary, even if it didn't work out. But he just said it like it is with Tierra and that he thinks she shouldn't have come on the show. Guess any hope for Tierra showing up on Women Tell All is now gone.
Chris tried to ask about the fantasy suites, to which Sean replied "it's none of your business". Has Sean's born again virgin status been raised at all this year? The last I remember was on Emily's season. So is he committed to just not having actual sex with the women? Because I'm sure there's other things that could go on in the fantasy suites.
Based on all the clips of Catherine giving him little love notes, I'm going to guess that the letter is from her. We saw a glimpse of the handwriting but not knowing what anyone's handwriting looks like, it doesn't help. So then what is it? Is it a "I love you so much" letter or a "I can't take this and am going home" letter?

I agree about Sean and his family. I thought Des' parents seemed perfectly nice--and think the brother's blunt honesty might have come across better simply if he'd been good-looking. I don't remember anything impressive about his families behavior with Emily (Emily, who i'm no big fan of, was -very- classy. Then again, I'm starting to see why Sean "fell in love with her". She was just distant enough and reserved and "perfect" enough that he could project his fantasy woman onto her. I don't see him doing that with any of these women who are throwing themselves at him. I think he's "in the moment" with each of them but not feeling much of anything emotionally (maybe physically, too).As for Sean finding Des to be too lower class, that may be the way he thinks but, in spite of his parent's obvious money, I would never call them classy. Practical jokes, bad grammar, and bad manners with Emily, all said tacky, not bright, new rich to me.
I can't stand him anymore. All three remaining women can do much better.
That he's able to listen to Sarah open her heart...then callously dump her even before a RC...is still disturbing to me. And he was so "crazy" about Des, but didn't seem to have any real problem sending her home. He doesn't have to get married at FRC, so if he was genuinely falling in love, how could the brother calling him a playboy be a deal breaker? (And the nerve, calling SEAN a playboy! Who cares that he's on this show--twice--and is apparently comfortable dating and making out with muiltiple women and telling each of them he's "crazy about" her--and assuring their parents he won't reject them--even though he WILL reject at least 3.
I still want to know if the women do or don't know at this point in the show that he's staying celibate until marriage. They're all building up such expectations about him. (And poor AShlee. He's worse than a playboy, imo, for keeping her around so long. His face while she was crying about the Polar Bear Plunge and how she was so happy and trusting with him--well, to me, he looked borderline disgusted and quite turned off by it all.)
I started out liking him, but I don't any more. I hope he doesn't choose anyone--they can do better, including among past B-ette rejects.

Strange though that they took the approach that this was filmed just after Monday night and the final three.
Whenever this episode was taped -- last week or two months ago -- they did get the wardrobe continuity right. Sean was wearing the same suit, shirt, and tie that he wore on at least one recent episode.
