I think I'm beginning to miss Neal Baer.

So last week Warren Leight cast a convicted rapist in a show about punishing rapists, and this week he arbitrarily made a likeable recurring character into a cold-blooded murder. I wonder what he's going to do next week to piss off fans?

I kind of liked this episode once I realized which real-life case they were totally not basing it on, no sir (that disclaimer at the beginning of such episodes always cracks me up). Plus, Munch!

I really like Lewis, I hate that they made her into a killer. My sister called it halfway through the episode.

While I wasn't that crazy about the character, I'm really pissed off that they do this to a recurring, competent female career woman. And then Liv's all, "no wonder you were so driven!" Gee thanks, Liv, for making it worse.

I liked the bait and switch of at first we think it's Jay Karnes because he's the guest star and he does the creepy vibe well, but then got pissed off when I realised where they were headed.

And then the usual breakdown and confession. Great. I realise that Liv was using the same technique with Lewis as Lewis used with Perrineau (can't remember his character name - all I hear when I look at him is WAAAAAAAALT!), but you'd think a seasoned FBI agent who's been raped and shot would have more smarts than a disabled serial rapist. Find a priest to confess to, moron. They won't tell anyone.

Ok so Munch was back so I can't hate as much as I want to but as others have said why make Lewis a killer? She was a good character and good actress and now she's just another plot twist killer.
And it felt like the only reason she was sorry was because she'd disappointed Olivia or something, they way she kept apologising to her. I found it odd, like we were supposed to be upset that Olivia's best friend lied to her.
And did munch and fin ever find the second box? Will we ever find out? Did someone completely forget that that's what they were doing?
Oh show, you bring back munch and make me love you and then you pull a stunt like this and make me wanna slap you *sigh*

I don't think they did find the second box, but they made Dana think they had found it...or something. That got a little fuzzy. I also wanted to hear more about why Harold Perrineau was willing to confess -- the promise of being put in a slightly better prison because of his condition? He just got abandoned in the nap room.

Am I crazy, or did I hear Nick say to Olivia "you weren't complaining in the Bahamas" when she was bitching about not liking South Florida?!?

next we're going to get the Liv-has-repressed-that-SHE-killed-someone-and-her-life-has-been-to-atone story. Blergh.

I was hoping that Dana would end up being a red herring, but it was obvious after a certain point that they were heading down that road. I hate that they turned her into a killer, but I should've learned that shenanigans usually go down with recurring SVU characters if they show up too much.

Yep. It was pretty ridiculous. Like, this lady had spent years at a time undercover, she knows how to keep her shit together. And once it became clear that this was turning into an interrogation, she should have either left or called a lawyer.

Next week's episode looks like some Lifetime shit. I love Rollins but kind of don't want to have to deal with this storyline. Every time a TV cop pulls something like this there's not a lot of suspense since we all know she'll be back to detective-ing an episode or two later.

I didn't mind them making her a killer, never really liked her. Plus MGH has gotten on my nerves ever since she played that crazy in that awful movie, The Mist.

It's well known that most competent, career driven women are simply trying to make up for the various murders they have committed. /snerk

More seriously, I have to agree, for someone who appeared to go to a ridiculous amount of trouble to cover up the murder she committed decades before, she fell apart pretty damn quickly.

Yeah, after she confessed I just shook my head and thought how much I hate this show sometimes. They've always shown so much disdain for anybody from the FBI, so I shouldn't be surprised that they decided to make Lewis into a murderer. I always liked her character, so show, screw you for that one.

He said something like that. He was referring to her little vacation with her mystery lover.

In this episode they made it sound like Dana had devoted her entire life to her career. But in the rape episode, she mentioned a husband and kids. What happened to them?

What really seemed stupid to me was why Lewis stepped in on the case in the first place. If she had stayed away, they probably never would've linked it to her. She opened up her own can of worms.

Thank you! I knew I didn't imagine that line!

Stupid show.

1st: The title of this episode is Secrets Exhumed, not Assumed.

2nd: I'm sick and tired of Warren Leight making up his own canon. He's single-handedly ruined every former character on this show. This year of the secrets is doing nothing but tarnishing what was at one time great characters.

I liked it. I had no idea MGH was supposed to be a likeable character. I've always hated that character, though I concede that the actor playing it is great.

Thank you for the link to the Vanity Fair story it was so scary and fascinating.

I liked it too because I've never liked the character they assassinated. I thought she and Mariska acted the heck out of the interrogation, actually.

For the character assassination alone I will do as any good Trekkie does to such horrors as Original Trek's 'Spock's Brain', Voyager's 'Threshold' and Enterprise's 'These Are The Voyages' - THIS IS NOT REAL, IT DID NOT HAPPEN, IT IS NOT CANON!

Dana Lewis, I STILL love you!

PS - whoops, I can't spell....
