I believe those are similar to Justified's ratings so if they hold steady, I think the show would be good for renewal.

I wouldn't worry, 99.9% of the time there is a drop between a show's ratings for the premier and the ratings for its second episode. With all the hype/buzz for a new series people are bound to be curious. Some people watch to see if it's a good or as bad as people are saying. Some people watch to see if it's better than the show they're currently watching live in that timeslot. Some people watch to see if it's at least worth recording in the future. And frankly some people will tune into the premiere, see it's not for them, and never watch again.

The show's ratings from here on out are what will determine its fate.

The Live+3 ratings are out and the DVR viewings of the episode boosted its ratings 58%. That's a pretty big leap, especially for a FX show.

I was so thrilled when I read it on Twitter. I thought that we'd have to wait to the end of the first season.

Renewal has been confirmed by Deadline- My link

Interestingly, the quote from FX's president refers to a "robust and passionate audience." Isn't "passionate" usually code for an audience that isn't very big?

I haven't been this excited about a new tv show all year. Can't wait for the end of Season 1, as well as Season 2.

Awesome news! I was a little worried when I heard ratings dropped for episodes two and three but I thought the DVR increases would guarentee a second season. Looks like it's happened. I'm glad because I really want to see where this show is headed the next couple of years.

I'm so excited to hear about the show's renewal for a second season. Granted we are only four episodes in, but I am kind of hooked on this show and the characters and genuinely look forward to it each week. Does anyone know how many episodes we are getting in season 1?

They have scheduled a "marathon" for Friday March 1, the first 5 episodes, but I can't find confirmed start time on the FX site, and I can't recall if the commercial said 10 am or 10 pm (EST).

Not sure where to ask this. I notice in the list of topics that there have been no episodes since Episode 8 on March 20. Does this mean the season is complete already? (I myself am only up to Episode 6. I am afraid to read anything upthread of this post because I don't want to know any spoilers, but I'll check back to see if there's been an answer to my question. Thanks!)

As Sister Magpie said, they skipped a week because production fell behind when Hurricane Sandy hit NYC last October. There *is* a new ep tomorrow night (March 3rd) & 4 more to follow that, for a total of 13 this season. The S1 Finale episode is scheduled to air on May 1st.

How have the ratings been for the last couple of eps? Even though FX has committed already to season two, I'm curious about how the show is faring.
