I was kinda sad that they didn't really aim for eye candy on the men side this time (which, in a way, is fine since it's supposed to be about the design, right?) and was going to content myself with Matt, who is cute, but then, Joseph snuck up on me last night. I think he's adorable and I really like his manner of speaking. That calm, even-keeled pattern of speech really gets to me. And I liked his pants (the ones he designed) as well, so hopefully he'll do well in the competition.

Aaaand there goes my eye candy. Snif. Especially since I thought his outfit was actually pretty good and beautiful but that the promise of Amanda clashing with her team in the future saved her while he had always been cannon fodder.

I thought Joseph was very sweet, if living in a slightly different dimension than everyone else. He probably wasn't hurt by being voted off....he seems to have a reasonable amount of reality about himself and he realizes he was a long shot considering his attitude toward fashion (which I happen to agree with) is so different from the others. On the other hand, he was truly helpful to his teammates and had some good ideas, even though he forgot some details (like the zipper he put in his coat/dress). I liked his designs and I truly wish him well. I don't know that Amanda will clash with her team...I think she sized them up pretty well, but I also believe Joseph didn't really care if they understood him or not. He's his own person...which is probably why he likes cats so much.

I actually didn't really think she would clash with her team (she seemed pretty chill last week) and the producers actually never took it into consideration since they destroyed the teams immediately afterwards, but I figured the promise of drama was what saved her. Then I remembered that Nina actually liked her dress.

It's like this week. Eye Candy N°2 (although he looked more and more to worn out as the weeks went by) was booted and really, once he was with Mr. 2 wins and Ms. Snarky confessionals, there was no way he was staying.

Unlike Joseph, who seemed so centered in himself, I think Matt had something going on. I may be projecting, but he seemed so distracted from focusing on the project at hand. His by no means was the worst of the designs this week, but that's just my opinion, and I didn't make it on into a judge's chair. It is too bad Joseph didn't last for another week...I imagine he would have been a big hit with the lively ladies that they are going to be designing for next week, and I can pretty much bet there would be a lot of fond cat people in that group, and several who would be game for fashion that broke out of the norm. Sigh. We'll never know.

The show just wasn't the same without my new TV boyfriend! Even though his aesthetic was probably never going to make it far, he definitely deserved to last longer than some of the cannon fodder (namely Matt and Richard - who despite winning this last challenge is awful and irritating).

Luckily I'm coming to quite like Amanda and Kate.
