But why does the continuity fairy have to die by a thousand cuts? No mention from Dean that fairies aren't all they're cracked up to be? Why could Sam (or Charlie, for that matter) see the fairy?
Why, show, why??

I loved that Dean and Sam's aliases were Rosewood and Taggart. Great job with the reference to Eddie Murphy's best movie. Okay, they were in the first 2 Beverly Hills Cops, but the first one was Eddie's best movie.
I like Felicia Day, I think she's attractive, but damn they went overboard with everyone loving her. It was like Lana Lang came to Supernatural. Maria/Galandria was hotter than Charlie, IMO.
It was nice to see that the writers remembered that Dean is a bit of a geek. That's something they've forgotten at times, so of course he'd have a blast at the Moondor stuff.

Instead of a suck it up speech, Dean gets to be called a dick and Sam gets to have a girl hit on him?
Is anyone going to call Sam on his shit? No? Wow, shocker!
When will Sam ever realize how much Dean has given up and lost? What a total self-centered dick. God I hate how much Dean has to baby Sam so that Sam can feel all smug and happy. Makes me hate Sam even more.
This episode had it's good moments, but they were far and few in between. Dean and Charlie were ok until they start on poor Sam's feelings. Geez Dean, it's not like Sam hasn't crapped on you for about 4 years now. When is it his turn to actually, you know, feel bad about it?
Why is it this show never remembers Deans past? He was in Fae land, why didnt the fairy contact him? Or even remember he was there?
What was up with JPs scene chewing?
I was expecting better but I feel the writer didn't have his heart in it and it felt more like high school drama then a professionally written script.

I'll probably check out until Castiel comes back. I have very little interest in Supernatural without
him I'm afraid.
Ditto. The fact he didn't even warrant a mention is such shitty continuity.

He also looked wonderful in costume.
The bad? The bulk of the episode.
A very, very predictable monster of the week in which Dean's prior encounter with the fae is completely overlooked.
Jared phoned this one from so far away I could not even understand his lines, and I forced myself to pay very close attention.
I did appreciate that someone at long last challenged them on their false identification.
Once again, the loss of everything Sam loves come to rest on Dean's shoulders. One would think Sam is incapable of making a decision on his own, although his comment that some fun would not go amiss for either of them was appreciated at the end.
Charlie's exaggerated characterization was considerably toned down in this outing which was much appreciated, but Dean's continual surprise at Charlie's romantic behaviour became somewhat absurd after the third double-take.

I really expected more from this ep. It had some good moments at the beginning, but boy did it totally lose steam about a quarter of the way in and just drag all over the place.
The only saving grace was how good Dean looked in Moondor garb.

They do love to harp on Dean the meanie don't they? Meanwhile Sam gets to be a constant and unrepentant douchebag and never gets called on his crap. This is why I cannot stand his character any longer. So apparently all of Sam’s crap is forgotten and only Dean is being called on hurting the poor wounded baby bird’s feelings? Sam gets a man killed, but Dean gets called on for hurting poor Sam.

I could not even understand his lines,
I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one with that problem.
I did appreciate that someone at long last challenged them on their false identification.
And, boy, wasn't Sam ticked off at that. I wonder if was the one who made up the IDs?

Really, Robbie Thompson? Really? You're better than that.
But apparently, not. Sam made his choice, but instead of letting him own it like a man, it's presented as if it's Deans fault. And of course, the only wrong thing is Dean's text message. Again, Sam is let off the hook for everything.
Just pathetic. Way to make people hate the character even more, by continually whitewashing him as innocent and suffering at the hands of his mean big brother, who just ruins his life, every damn time.
Pathetic.
If it hadn't been that, I would have been fine with the episode. Charlie was over the top, but she was actually toned down in some ways. Except for the over the top adoration of her, I was fine with it.
The episode was gory, but not really scary. The storyline was just kind of blah. I hate that they totally ignored all of the fairy canon they had before. That was a hoax.
But it was cute with the LARPing, and I just adored Dean's enthusiasm for it all. Seriously, Jensen makes Dean so sweet and fun and yet he then he can turn on a dime into a scary dude with the gun, interrogating the orcs. I love it! He really is IT for me when it comes to this show. THE reason to watch.
I thought most of Dean and Charlie was sweet, minus that horrible "It's all Dean's fault, he's a douche" scene. I loved Dean in his outfit, LOVED IT!!! And I adored him giving the Braveheart speech! So cute! He is just so darn cute!

Never, haven't you learned that yet Hat? He's not done anything wrong to feel bad about! But Dean is clearly nothing but selfish, mean and incompetent. He held a gun to Sam's head and forced him to leave Amelia. I know we didn't see that, but I'm sure it happened offscreen and we'll hear about it later.
I think between this episode and the previous one, it's clear that the show is not only sticking to but increasing the amount of responsibility Dean has for Sam's happiness - which is to say all, even if Sam made a decision himself. I'm sure that next week will bear this out as well.
I just can't believe that they managed to stick it to Dean again in a filler episode like this one, yet I'm supposed to be happy and amused by the rest? I'm honestly surprised that Jensen is happy with how his character gets sand kicked in his face all the time - what did he do to the writers anyway? No faith left in Carver, none at all. At this point, just kill Dean off and let Sam have the entire spotlight please. Maybe he can hunt with Charlie, who clearly adores him and recognizes his god-like qualities. Is Dean really that bad that he deserves so little respect or concern? Sam wasn't the only one who lost someone here.
The fact the actor who played Cupid in My Bloody Valentine showed up towards the end in a TurboTax commercial was just a needlessly cruel reminder of how good this show used to be.
The sad part is, I can't even bring myself to watch any old episodes - they are so colored by what we're seeing now. I can't watch a character that I love get needlessly kicked down week after week. Maybe my plan of pretending it ended at season 5 is a good one, I can imagine that Sam is still in hell. Harsh? Yes, but with all this "you must love Sam" propaganda, I really hate him now. Why do writers think that this kind of crap works?

Right? My pet rabbit's nose doesn't even twitch that much. I found myself muttering, "Stop. Just... just stop" but the facial contortions just kept going. What was up with JP’s scene chewing?
Too be fair though, there was a lot of scenery to get through in this episode. His jaw must have been tired by the end of each shooting day.

But the show should stop pretending that Sam needs so much attention with what he apparently lost and give more attention to what Dean lost cause losing Benny hurt. Losing Amelia? Was a gift to the viewers.

This. His interactions with Charlie was cute too(aside from Charlie's one writer's mouthpiece bit trying to sell garbage as gold) and he looked great in the gear. Dean was smart, naturally strategic and take charge, gettin' his geek on and made a wonderful Braveheart. :)
That's about as far as it goes. Otherwise it was everything wrong with this show in a nutshell. Sam is the biggest wet blanket ever suffering from the WORST PAIN EVER(as usual) and of course, it's all Dean's fault somehow and Sam's amazingly douchebaggy, dangerous, jealous, selfish behavior from the previous episodes of the season is whitewashed like it never happened. Sam is hateful and disgusts me at this point.
Losing Amelia? Was a gift to the viewers.
LOL Yeah it was. Too bad we've already lost so much else of the good stuff that finally losing her sorry ass doesn't really improve anything.

I just don't get why they think we're going to see Sam as "mature" and grown-up when he never takes any responsibility for anything, never acknowledges anything he does wrong and keeps making Dean his whipping boy--except when he wants Dean to handle whatever the problem might be. Or why they think we'd like him that way.

(I'm just joking - Cas not being mentioned at all made me write this as if it was the only way he'd get a mention)
"Hey, somebody who means a hell of a lot to me, somebody I spent a year carving up monsters for, just went back to his worst nightmare. Last time I saw him he was crying frickin' BLOOD TEARS. He might've killed himself. I don't even know if I'll ever see him again."
"Boo hoo. Sam should send you a text saying, 'brb, Cas died. lol jk.' Why won't Sam do that? Oh wait. It's because he's not a dick brother."
"You're so right, dude. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Sam. I'm so sorry."

I think I would have liked this episode better, if we hadn't had Sam suffering the WORST PAIN EVER, again, and that the show presented it as if it was Dean's fault that Sam lost out again.
Wait, does this mean that Sam's worst hell pain ever doesn't even compare to what he felt by losing Amelia? Interesting. Lucifer is getting soft in his old age.
Can we start calling the show Princess Pain the Empathetic Wounded Baby Bird and Dean the Ogre?
Truth in advertising!

But it isn't truth in advertising, it would be more like that 1984 Doublespeak - where everything is the opposite. :) What's up is down, what's right is wrong, what's good is bad. Once again I am so glad I have no friend or family relationships with any of these writers if they actually believe what they are showing.

Oh no, that's his WORST HELL PAIN ever! This is his Worst Lost Love Pain forever...since Jessica.
Dean? Dean's life has been roses and lilies and everything good! Sam? Has suffered forever and continues to suffer!
And just in case you forgot it, Robbie Thompson wanted to remind you that Sam's pain is ALL DEAN'S FAULT.

They may not be mentioning Lucifer because JP and Mark Pellegrino had more chemistry than he does with with the woman who plays Amelia.

You and me both. This show is a parody of itself now, and is begging to be subjected to the rifftrax crew.

Golly, how insensitive of me. I can't wait until we get to see his WORST PURGATORY/OTHER DIMENSION PAIN EVER. (Dean went to the resort part of Purgatory) That is coming, right? Come on show, don't let me down!!
And just in case you forgot it, Robbie Thompson wanted to remind you that Sam's pain is ALL DEAN'S FAULT.
Damn, I forgot. Thank goodness Robbie Thompson is here to tell me again. I think Adam Glass will be on hand to tell me next week too! Thrills galore!

Does he tell them to shut the fuck up and threaten to stab them?
Do they run away?
If so, Dean should try it too.

Sometimes I wonder if Sam ever encounters any, "Let's talk about your brother Dean's pain, he is all you have, he is all you will ever have, did you cause his pain, did you, did you, did you, did you..." exposition characters.
I remember the one time that he expressed concern for Dean, Bobby told him to stop worrying about Dean and worry about himself, because he was suffering so much more than Dean and they worry too much about each other, so Sam should stop. So yea, that's what he usually gets.
Honestly, I really don't understand why it's always Dean who gets these conversations. Always. And he's always the one getting the "suck it up, you should appreciate your brother more" conversations. There was no reason at all for this conversation to go down between Dean and Charlie. And yet, we once again got a conversation where someone tells Dean, "yes, you suck, and it's all your fault that your brother is miserable" and Dean - he of the low self esteem - agrees and takes responsibility for his brother's choices and emotions.
Seriously, I think these writers do NOT watch each other's episodes. I mean, Dean clearly encouraged Sam to go to Amelia if he wanted, gave him his blessing, and just told him that he had to decide which world he wanted to be in, because if he didn't, it could get him killed.
And yet that turns into it being Dean's fault Sam lost his happiness and his true love Amelia, the married woman.
I do not get this.

At this point in Dean's de-evolution and Sam's rise to god-hood, I say in for a penny, in for a pound. Every time Dean has some random character tell him that he doesn't wuv Sam enough, he should run snivveling immediately to wherever Sam is, hug him in a strangling fashion and gush on and on about his greatness while sobbing profusely. One of two things will happen. Either the show will finally be satisfied with his show of brotherly devotion or Sam will beg everyone they encounter not to tell Dean what a lousy brother he is, as his shirts are getting soaked with tears and snot and it's also rather embarrasing when it occurs during conversations with strangers.
Of course, Dean could then change his strategy to buying Sam teddy bears, flowers and a lot of those "You're number 1" foamy hands - and insist that Sam keep every. single. one.
And no, I am actually not being remotely sarcastic about this. I'd laugh my butt off to see Dean do this. Imagine if Dean did it in front of a demon?
Course, they aren't too far from that now, so it may well happen.
