No one? I am loving it. Have adored Cyndi since '83 but feared she would be over-the top on this show. Other than in her talking heads (and even there she was adorable but fairly subdued), Cyndi was much lower-key than I expected. Loved that her 14-year-old son was so physically affectionate with her, too. We see snatches of her having "artistic temperament" moments, but nothing too crazy. Oh, and I love that she seems to be letting her face age naturally.

I think she is likely way smarter than the persona she plays. I saw her on The Chew last week and expected to hate this show but I am pleasantly surprised. I disagree that she is letting her face age naturally, though. Her neck looks much older than her face and I think she has at least had some botox or filler. Seeing her with Kathy Griffin, who is several years younger--Kathy looked much older.

ETA: Her eyebrows pained me. Why do women do that to themselves?

I dvr'd this expecting to flip through it quickly. I don't think I have enough interest to watch it regularly, but I have to say I'm just in love with Declan. He's such a cool, normal kid. He really didn't seem like a typical celebrity brat. He really did seem kind of impressed occasionally with who his mom is, but for the most part, that's just "mom".

Maybe it's just because he reminds me of my friend's son, who is also a very down-to-earth kid.

I also found myself confused with the different talking heads, where sometimes Cyndi looks completely different. It didn't look like age or surgery so much as they just looked like they were filmed weeks or months apart, and she seemed more tired in some than others. Or maybe just her makeup was better in some than in others....it did keep me interested, because I was trying to find a pattern:-) Honestly sometimes she looked so different I would have mistaken her for Cyndi Lauper's older sister!

I don't know. Kathy has had a ton of botox and plastic surgery herself and she readily admits to all of it. Cyndi might get botox injections too but something tells me, like Kathy, she would have no problem admitting.

Yeah, and you could see some "aging" around Cyndi's jaw/chin. I still say she is aging naturally (and is still gorgeous). Oh, and ditto on the Declyn love.

I like Cyndi, quite a bit. In fact, I was familiar with her when she was with Blue Angel before her solo career. Her singing voice was amazing. That said...

Cyndi is 60 years old.

I have no doubt that she's had quite a bit of work done. She looks younger now than she did at the 2008 Grammy awards. The appearance of her neck doesn't match the freshness of her face. I don't fault her for having work done, it doesn't bother me at all.

Declyn is fun and seems to be having fun with the cameras. Her husband is cute and I like his sense of humor. Cyndi is coming off high strung to me, always freaking out about her voice. After 30+ years in the business, she doesn't know her warm up exercises and needs a Casio to do it? I really like her and hope they're just manufacturing drama for the show.

At least she still has her voice. I think she has a legitimate reason to be concerned as some other well-known singers have done permanent damage to their voices.

I didn't realize her husband was David Thornton, who (for me) is one of those "It's That Guy(s)!" I recognized him from a memorable turn (or two) from the Law & Order franchise.

Same here. This isn't my type of show, even though I really like Cyndi Lauper's music (and still laugh thinking of a post-partum interview when she recounted her annoyance with people feeling free to touch her pregnant stomach by saying, "I'm not the Happy Fucking Buddha"), but when I saw her husband in a promo I had an immediate, "Wait, I know him" reaction. A vision of him with tamed hair and wearing a suit popped into my mind, and I finally figured out that memory was a scene from SVU.

I still doubt I will watch, but I have to say the, "I'm a big fan, by the way" talking head they show in some of the promos never fails to crack me up.

I loved her back in the day and appreciate what she and all female rockers had to put up with in the business.

But she came off as depressed and kind of out of it. Not sure if I'd watch again. Kathy G. looks hugely different than she appears on her own show these days.

I recognized David from The Notebook. He played the father, with a fabulous southern accent. (David is from SC.)

IMO she doesn't look like a singer/rock star to me. Get some hair woman! She looks like a lesbian activist to me.

She's starting to get that freaky plastic surgery alien look to her. She needs to stop. In her defense I understand why she did it. Google a picture of her as a kid. She was ugly!

I think Cyndi's definitively had botox as she never seems to properly move her forehead despite "emoting" in songs.

Does anyone know how this is doing ratings-wise?

I've done vocal warm ups for many years now due to being in the choir, but I've never seen the way Cyndi does hers. Does anyone know why she covers her tongue with a napkin when she runs the scales?

Declan is so damn cute and I did feel sorry for him when all those fans keep taking his mom away from him. I think it's interesting that he was so emotional about it because most 14 year holds don't want to hang with their parents. He may be an undercover mama's boy. He is a perfect mix of his parents. He has Cyndi's personality with his dad's looks, but he sure has a potty mouth.

Yeah, she's still so unusual. I just watched the Kentucky Derby episode and it was ok but I feel like if she were a bit more organized she wouldn't need a "team" of 13 people. At least it seemed like she had that many people around her, and yet they still lost her Casio. She appears kind of wrapped up in herself and diva-ish, although I find her generally likeable. Her husband and her son are both cute and seem grounded. I don't think I'll watch any other episodes.

I hope this doesn't come across as too unkind, but aren't cross eyes a correctable thing now? Her manager Lisa has a really bad case.

I'm glad to get the info that Elijah is Lisa's son. I was wondering why he was traveling with them if he's just Declyn's friend. And maybe Elijah is short for his age, but he seemed a lot younger than Dec too.

What are singers/rock stars supposed to look like? That is a pretty diverse crowd. And yes she is a lesbian but I don't know what that has to do with her being a singer. Their have actually been quite a few bald women singers over the years. And if you are going to be bald, rock music is definitely the right genre to do that in.

Her husband and her son are both cute and seem grounded.

I love them. They seem so different from her but it works somehow. And I too remember David from The Notebook and Law and Order.

I'm embarrassed to admit I have seen that movie probably 6 times and love that character and had no idea David played that role. Geeez!!!

I am enjoying this show, I love Cyndi and like seeing the family dynamic.

I watched a few episodes last night, and it doesn't have the aspects of reality television that offend me, but it does have the staging that bugs me. I saw scenes obviously filmed at the same time in at least two different episodes (purporting to take place on different days), reenacted phone calls, etc. It's why I can't watch this type of programming; I don't blame anyone, especially a celebrity, not signing on for true documentary filming as it's so time-consuming and invasive, but the obvious staging in reality television is too distracting for me.

With that said, I like both of them and enjoy their talking head segments. I might watch more from time to time just for those. When I'm not being pulled out of the moment ... I like watching Cindy work, not just performing but all the other stuff she has to do in preparation. And watching David with the dogs is great; I love people who love their pets. I liked David talking about how Declyn's age is not a rewarding time for him as a parent; even a seemingly good kid like him is quite trying at that age and it's nice to see parents acknowledge that in a straightforward way.

Both the NYC apartment and the Connecticut home look really cluttered, which also distracts me, as I am a neat freak.

Cyndi was talking about her photoshoot being for new publicity pictures and the filmed bit for something else, but they were obviously for this show. It's what she looks like during the opening credits. It did seem like she was trying to stuff a lot into a single day, and that photo selecting for her book was a mess. The woman in green was trying to keep her on track, but she kept going off and looking at photos that had nothing to do with the book cover.

I think the golf outing may have been the first thing they shot, because Declyn seemed younger, and his voice seemed higher. You can't go by Cyndi's look for anything because she changes daily, but David's hair is sticking up in the actual show but for the talking head pieces, it's mostly a lot longer and down.

For all my "Although I find the subjects both genuine and likable, the typical reality show fakery in evidence keeps me from wanting to watch this" skepticism, upon finding myself home sick this evening watching a Roseanne marathon on WE, I stayed tuned for the new episodes.

As someone whose feminist heart also beat out of her chest upon meeting Nancy Pelosi, Cyndi's joy was fun to see.

Did I hear Declyn's friend refer to the dad as "Mr. Thornton" when David walked up to retrieve them from their meal? If so, I love that. I'm pretty quick to invite people to address me by my first name, but I cannot stand when people - especially people significantly younger than me - presume to do so without that invitation, so that warmed my heart. As did his firm, "No, you will be going home to do your homework" stance in the face of Declyn's adolescent delusions. And "Do you guys want to go alone or would you like the presence of my wallet?" cracked me up.

Love Cyndi, but it's pretty well known that she's had work done. There were pictures a few years ago of her walking out of a plastic surgery outpatient center, her face was all bandaged and swollen looking.
I think she looks better than many women that have had mega-work done!

I saw Kinky Boots last night. It's a fun show & Cyndi did a really great job with the music & lyrics. There was really only one time when a female character was singing a solo on stage by herself that I thought the song could be on one of Cyndi's albums.

I saw Cyndi & Declan at intermission. Cyndi was busy talking to someone, but Declan was texting so I told him he was great on the reality show. He was friendly & has gotten quite tall.
