Hollywood D-listers: is there anything they can't do? They dance, they skate — sometimes they even cook. But now they are taking the next step, literally, onto a diving board. Tonight is the two-hour premiere of the special Stars in Danger: The High Dive on Fox (of course), in which celebrities learn complicated, Olympic-style dives with the help of Olympic medalist Troy Dumais — and then must perform them in a competition, in which the best divers move on to the next round.

Didn't see a thread for this.

Becky Baeling ... Herself - Host
David Chokachi ... Himself - Contestant
Troy Dumais ... Himself - Trainer
Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley ... Herself - Contestant
Bethany Hamilton ... Herself - Contestant
Kyle Martino ... Himself - Host
Terrell Owens ... Himself - Contestant
Alexandra Paul ... Herself - Contestant
Kim Richards ... Herself - Contestant
Kyle Richards ... Herself - Contestant
Antonio Sabato Jr. ... Himself - Contestant

There are 3 hosts - guessing they are former divers and a bunch of D list celebs including Baywatch alum, and some reality show "stars".

It was a bit low brow, but I found it entertaining. A good friend of mine was a diver back in high school/college and he loved watching it for all the wipeouts. I wish we could have had a little more "real" diving in between the "celeb" diving.

I will say the only people I knew by name were Bethany Hamilton, Terrell Owens and Antonio Sabato Jr., and I have vaguely heard of Jwoww.

Antonio Sabato Jr certainly looked hot as ever diving. I give the celebs a lot of props for wearing bathing suits on TV and for attempting those dives. Except Jwoww who chickened out.

I don't think anything with Antonio Sabato Jr in a speedo for 2 hours can be all bad. I'll take this over Joe Millionaire anyday.

Surprisingly entertaining for such a ridiculous concept. On the one hand, it was nice to see the Richards' sisters represent older women with real bodies in swimsuits out there trying their hardest but on other hand, their dives were far too easy. I wished the producers had been able to line up slightly bigger names, they were clearly scraping the bottom of the "celeb" barrel with this one. Also, hearing the hosts bend over backwards to be complimentary even when the dives were seriously flawed got a bit old. However, props to all of the "celebs" for even attempting to learn some of those dives. Also, pleasantly surprised by the decision to make this a one-off show. I feel like it might have been better suited to summer programing but perhaps airing it in early January when original programming is sorely lacking was genius.

I thought the Richards sisters looked better than Jwoww.

This show was hiLARious.

Commenters, after Kim Richards jumps into the water - jump, not a dive, not a flip, just a jump (yes, I know, it was from a very high diving board):

"You have to be impressed with that."
"Oh yeah, she did a great job, she jumped really vertically."

I thought that Greg Louganis was supposed to be one of the judges?

Shockingly enough there is not one but two shows about "celebs," diving and Greg is on ABC's Celebrity Splash which airs in March.

Show is originally from the Netherlands, where it was a huge hit, so I guess a lot of people are trying to jump on the bandwagon.

I kept waiting for the SNL actors to come on screen thinking this has to be a parody of something. I just thought it was so funny. All the drama leading up to the drives - the tears, the personal back story and then to just jump off the board. My son and I were still laughing this morning.

Antonio won I believe, narrowly eeking out victory from Alexandra Paul. Naturally, the Baywatch stars were good as was Terrell Owens (NFL) as well.

In the practice scenes, I don't think I ever saw Jenny Farley (Jwoww) make a successful dive. And by successful, I mean one where she doesn't slam into the water torso first.

As soon as she said she hurt her back, I knew she was gonna punk out.
Great, now I am forced to admit that I watched Jersey Shore...
Ok, IF I ever watched JS, which I may or may not have, Jenny hurt herself in some run-in with Roger, and everyone said she was a big baby and was going to milk it for all she could. And sure enough, she had a big cast and crutches. Or so I heard...

I saw most of seasons 1 & 2 and the rest I've only seen on The Soup. I think Jenny isn't all that coordinated and she's thrown off by those melon sized foobs that sit under her armpits. I would think that would hurt balance.

Has Antonio Sabato Jr really never dived before? If so, I'm really impressed he got to a decent forward 1 1/2 dive in 2-3 weeks. I took diving in grad school as an adult a few years ago (long story - no course in my discipline fit my schedule that semester & taking a gym class was cheaper than the matriculation fee). I wasn't getting individual attention from national champions or using a trampoline/flight belt, but by the end I couldn't manage much more than the basics.

Those were some killer bruises on Paul's thighs.

I'm kind of ashamed that I watched this, but I really would have enjoyed it if I knew/cared about any of the contestants. I heard the UK version got their cute little champion Tom Daley participating.

And now we have to put up with "Celebrity Diving" in a few months, as an ongoing show?

Good lord.

I can't decide whether it should be called "Diving with the Stars" or "So You Think You Can Dive."

Tom Daley, the young brit diver in the 2012 Olympics, has a similar show.

I think these shows work so much better with d-list celebrities.

That sense of not-so-quiet desperation that just oozes from every pore is the stuff of reality TV gold.

We need a show for the D listers and has-beens.

Kim was on WWHL and said her vertical dive was called the "pencil". Andy Cohen could barely contain himself.

The Today Show has an interview with Kyle and Kim:

http://theclicker.to...-high-dive?lite

They are so self absorbed. Kyle thinks she was made to learn olympic moves in weeks instead of years. OK honey, you could barely walk the plank, let alone do any moves.

Joel McHale higlighted both Kim's & Kyle's first dives on The Soup last week. Hysterical. He suggested that they remove the water.
