When two victims are linked by a very unusual weapon, the CSI team tries to solve the puzzling mystery.

The best part of this episode for me was the last 7 minutes. I have always loved Sid and it did not surprise me that he turned out to be the Guardian Angel. Sid never seemed to that affected by new found wealth, so it made perfect sense to me that he'd want to do something useful with what he had. Robert Joy did a great job with this scene.

I get the feeling that the writers of the show are starting to head in the direction of wrapping things up for good. The last episode of this season airs in February and I don't think that bodes well for another season.

I did like the use of the 3D manufacturing process to make a gun. This technology already exists for machining some parts, so it makes sense that someday soon it will be used for other purposes. I recall Mac using the earlier version of this process in the "Officer Blue" episode way back in season one or two when he recreated a 3D bullet.

The ballistics chamber was different than what we've seen in the past. I can't recall a time when anyone stuck their hand into a protective glove behind a plexiglass chamber. It reminded me of what you would use to handle toxic chemicals or pathogens.

I was annoyed that I had it figured out in the first quarter of the episode having heard about 3d printing guns on two different NPR programs and having read articles on line (for example NYTimes.com). IMO, they really should've flashed across the screen Some Earlier Date at the start of the episode, and then, at end, after Mac said his line about it becoming a reality in the future, flashed the current date on the screen overlaying a shot of the news article headline.

ETA another annoyance: The title of the episode, "Command Plus P" indicates that a Mac was used. If the print command is issued from a PC, it would be Ctrl +P or "Control Plus P," but at 19.56 minutes in on the video at CBS.com it sure looks to me like the computer is an HP.

I assumed that the glovebox was a one-off given the nature of the gun Lindsey was testing. They printed the gun in the lab, so they had reason to doubt its integrity, plus they found the odd fragments in the lawyer's office. I'm frankly surprised that they didn't go the "Mythbusters" route and use a bench rest and a string around the trigger.

The guardian angel sub-plot threw me. I figured that there would be a common thread among the recipients that would point to the lawyer having done them wrong. In retrospect, Sid made sense. And I really hope they don't bump him off -- he's about my favorite character on the show anymore.

I heard about the 3D guns on the other CSI show - just a few weeks ago. They certainly do seem to be moving toward a series wrap up (for the third time).
I didn't understand how Jo got the envelope to test for fingerprints. No crime had been committed.
And everyone always talks about the amount of botox Sela Ward has had. Robert Joy was great in that scene, but all I found myself wondering how Jo managed to cry with no visible evidence of sadness or grief in her frozen face.

I knew immediately that the guardian angel was Sid, simply because Jo was looking into this non-criminal matter -- but I didn't guess that it was because he had cancer. How did she get the envelope? I'm going to guess that she simply asked the parking enforcement officer for it.

Yep, I guessed the weapon a few minutes in because they JUST had this plot point on CSI: Original Recipe. Seriously, CSI? You do know that there are those of us who watch both franchises, right?

In spite of that, it was a decent episode.
