Wow. Either John is a terrible person or he got a really bad edit. I seriously doubt the producers would allow one contestant to simply hoard a necessary ingredient as he was claiming he could have done. Glad to see him gone. But even without the cook-off I think the result would have been the same.

Seriously? John was robbed. And I am not a big John fan, but that was not fair. Lizzie's scallop dish was clearly a loser and worthy of elimination -- why did she get a second chance when others did not?

The fact that clearly lessor chefs (I'm looking at you, Josie....) are still in the competiton and much better chefs like John are out shows how crazy this process is.

Loved the quickfire though.

Good God, that was a lot of dickitude to come out of one man! Seriously, John, you think you could have won by stealing all the pickles. Yes, the judges would have been very impressed with your cooking if you had flat out cheated. Moron.

And to say that he "shouldn't have to cook again" because of how bad Lizzy's dish was - again - moron! The 10th Kindle was introduced at the quickfire, Lizzy could have served poop on a plate and you still would have had to cook again, because that was the point of the tenth Kindle!!

I don't usually comment on these boards but wow what an ass! Glad he is gone. Between the name dropping, the douchey wearing of his glasses on his forehead and the excuses...adios muchacho!!!!

John didn't hoard anything. He shared the pickles. And I watched him with the dill, he took about half what was in the package. Which was not in a ziplock bag as Lizzie held up. I think she lost sight of the yellow-labeled container of dill. I think it boiled down to her burger being more tasty.

I can't figure John out. In his THs he can be abrasive but in the footage of him in the kitchen or wherever he's generally courteous.

It was clearly planned from the get-go that there would be a cook-off to determine this week's axed cheftestant (much like in the All-Star season semifinal, where Mike Isabella edged out Antonia for a spot in the finale).

I don't care if John was robbed, I needed him off my TV. I'll take one mistake from Lizzie over a good dish from him. He's like Dave on Storage Wars... can't admit when he screwed up, everything is always someone else's fault.

Yay for Kristen and Brooke dominating. Though, I am afraid that Kristen might go the Kevin ( Las Vegas) route: dominate in the elimination challenges and then not win. maybe, she'll go the Stephanie route.

Lizzie really screwed up with the scallops. Food poisoning on a plate. She was lucky there was a predetermined cook-off. I am so glad there was, because I am thrilled John is gone. He is an egotistical jerk. Who is obsessed with sharing pickles (how weird was the notion that he could have not shared the pickles and won???)

Now if we can get rid of Josh and Josie I'd be really, really happy.

Fixed it for you.

I have zero respect for people who start sentences with "I'm not making excuses, but..." Same for people who claim to be "misunderstood", as if it's the rest of the world's fault for not understanding the genius of you. There's 7 billion people on the planet, you're not that special.

Meanwhile, I really want to try Kristin's "not potpie". I will be really disappointed if she doesn't end up Top Chef.

I thought I heard America shouting, "knife John!" Maybe that was me and all the neighbors? I don't know if John got the dick edit, but I'm hard-pressed to imagine what could have been wrapped around what he did say to make any of it anything other than dickitude.

I desperately wanted to like John all season, but he. just. wouldn't. let. me.
Thought it was interesting that Josh couldn't couldn't contain his disdain for John in front of the judges. I don't think they're really all that different from each other.

Lizzie is one of those contestants that I secretly root for, but am just so sure is doomed to go home. I thought this might have been her week. So glad she's still around. I really wanted to try her chicken burger.

Glad John went home. I was indifferent to him until the talk of not sharing the pickles... get over yourself, asshole!

Speaking of assholes, I didn't care for the smugness of Josh at judges table. Dude, you have barely made it off the bottom most challenges. I didn't need to hear John make excuses either but Josh needed to just stand there & shut the fuck up. I wish someone would sleepwalk over to his bed one night with scissors & clip the ends off that stupid moustache.

Keep rocking it Kristen!!

John's douchebagginess could have been tempered had he pointed this out in his talking heads and at the judge's table! Was the performance in the elimination challenge completely discounted in the end? I don't care how tasty Lizzie's burgers were, how is she excused for cooking and serving scallops that she knew were bad? I don't think Top Scallops Jamie would have done that. Lizzie could have even played it off by making a joke about it ("I guess it's not "Top Scallops" after all!")

It's a poor craftsman who blames his tools, John. What an asshole. Although I really thought Lizzie should have also been eliminated for knowingly serving bad scallops.

Yay to my fave Kristen for another win. I just hope she's not peaking too soon, although I would be okay with a Brooke win also.

Why did Stefan even agree to be on this season? He could not possibly be less interested and just phones it in every week.

Love Jonathan Waxman. If I can't have my beautiful Frenchmen Eric Ripert and Hubert Keller, could Jonathan please replace Hugh Acheson and give Top Chef some credibility back? That commercial Hugh did with Greyson and Ed was painful.

John was a real jerk tonight during that cook-off. I'm so glad he's gone. Too bad Josh is still there. But really, my pan wasn't flat so that's why my risotto sucked? Right.

But yay for Kristen pulling out another win!

Note to self: Don't ask Josh to cat sit for me. He's a piece of work.

I desperately wanted to like John all season, but he. just. wouldn't. let. me.

That's pretty much my thoughts on him as well. I think outside of a competition he wouldn't be as annoying.

Oh, and some of those memorable moments didn't seem all that memorable. Case in point the Mike V. one.

And let us never speak of pea puree again.

I'm trying to remember Stefan's season. Didn't he win more challenges than any other chef in TC history, but lose to Hosea in the final? Maybe he's phoning it in until the final, where he'll give 100%.

If I can't have my beautiful Frenchmen Eric Ripert

Who of course met Anthony Bourdain because of dear old John...

Ok, so John personally knows some big-time chefs. I just thought that tonight's bit of name-dropping was beyond obnoxious. What do Bourdain and Ripert have that John doesn't (i..e why is John on this side of the table)?

From the moment I started watching this season, John bugged me with his glasses and Josh bugged me with his silly little hipster mustache and hat. Ugh! [/Superficial rant]

I kind of like Josie, even though she can be a bit much. I still want her around.

As much of a douche as John was this week, Josh was worse.

All those clips of douchebaggery from past seasons really brought home for me how much I'm enjoying this season. You have to have a couple of assholes to hate, but it's time for Josh and Josie to go now.

Brooke and Kristen are both awesome. I think Micah's going to secure the third finalist spot. I do enjoy his dry sense of humor.

Also, I never need to see Battleax Betty again. Ever. Anywhere.

Jeez, I almost spit on my screen when I heard that coming from her!

and Hubert Keller

Lord, I love Hubert SO much...his grace and consideration the times he's judged have been so profound. I absolutely adore seeing him on screen.

The knife dude was amazing, but I'd love to have seen a craftsman displaying Damascus steel knives....The MOST beautiful knives ever. (I run a metal fabrication shop, so I'm ALL about the look of the metal!)

While shopping Lizzie said something to the effect "this is going to be easy" and I saw the foreshadowing of doom for her. So of COURSE she not so great scallops, didn't think through the whole 'cooking them healthier so don't use butter' thing and the dish failed. In spite of the 10th Kindal, if Tom wanted Lizzie gone for those scallops, she'd have been gone. If he can pull a winning $10,000 prize, he can bump a chef if he wants to.

Joshtashe laughing it up at JT was a pretty dick move, too. It wasn't enough to be in the top 3, he had to try to throw John under bus by telling the judges the pans were all flat, as if they didn't know that. They knew John was just treading water but they (sort of) humored him. Shut up Josh, and go home soon.

NOW Josie's tirade last week makes sense. She wants to be this season's 'memorable moment'. Aim high chef.

I felt bad the way the chef's went on about how much the knife cost, rather than what a great knife it was.
