I caught this show today and it's incredibly phony. It's a two brother team with the last name Florke. Brother Randy is effete city sophisticated and brother Ronnie is all rough blue collar bluster and a royal screw-up. Ronnie is hard-headed and seems to resent his brothers using him for the grunt work; Randy seems to be resigned that he has this doufus as a brother/partner. See Ronnie break a pipe on the first day and makes excuses. He also decides to show that house before it's completed, to Randy's horror. Ronnie's favorite line is a whining "I'm just trying to help...".

The topper is their "designer" Jesse. He's a 40-ish, chunky guy who wears outlandish outfits and crazy retro glasses. His standard outfit consists of knee-length shorts, a colorful blazer with a big flower on the lapel, an out of style tie and some kind of funky hat (one being a child's black cowboy hat). His role is 'wacky character'. Jesse also made various goofs like when he decides to buy refurbished and recovered materials to save money. A major booboo was the kitchen counter, which was too small. Another weird purchase was a neon green refrigerator, which the brothers decided to keep, He has to be a paid actor cause no developer in his right mind would hire such a person.

So much contrived situations and bad acting. It's almost as bad as the renovation show A&E tried with Russell Hantz.

EDIT: Here's a clip I found on Youtube.
