Another obligatory countdown show on Vh1. This is the first one that I didn't walk away from disgusted though, so I guess that's a step up. Wondering if anyone else saw it and what you thought.

I saw most of it, including the final hour, but now I can't even remember what was number one. Triggering my memory by looking at the list online (number one was Juicy, which I don't really care for), I'd say this was a decent offering among their more recent countdowns (although, granted, that borders on damning with faint praise). At least this time most of the top ten are in my collection; the last countdown I watched kept making me say, "I don't even remember this song."

The inclusion of Skee-lo's I Wish made me smile, as I haven't heard that song in eons but it - and its video - always gave me a chuckle. I'll have to download that.

Wasn't Tha Crossroads released in the '90s? I would have expected to see that on the list.

In general, with each countdown show VH1 airs, I recognize fewer and fewer of the commentators, but there were some old standbys that I always enjoy hearing from. Comedian Christina Pazsitzky is starting to show up in a lot of these things, and I like her.

Yeah, like 1995 I think. That was a huge song in general that year, I was amazed not to see it on there. I would've swapped "Killing Me Softly" for either that or "Flava In Ya Ear". Killing Me Softly was huge but I don't consider it hip-hop; it's an R&B song with a hip-hop beat; Wyclef screaming "One time!" doesn't make it hip-hop.

Oooh, I hated Killing Me Softly...it was literally the worst remake I ever heard from them. I like the Fugees other songs, but that one is so overrated.

I haven't watched this yet, but if "Nuthin' But a G Thang" isn't #1, I don't think I need to see it.

carrier76 a kindred spirit! I just KNEW "G Thang" had to be #1 (it wasn't... but I wasn't too mad at the #1 pick)

I rather pick over any song over Nothing But A G Thang
