Feel free to move this thread to "Creative Quests" if it doesn't belong here. Which ten contestants would you all designate as "heroes" and as "villains?" While these terms have been highly contested, especially in the context of Survivor, I would be interested in hearing everybody's opinions about who would be in a second version of season 20? The only rule to this thread is that you can't name somebody who has ALREADY returned, whether it be once (Yau Man, Ami, Rudy, Tom, Candice), twice (Ozzy, Cirie, Coach, Amanda, Penner) or three times (Boston Rob). Here are my picks:

Heroes:
1) Danni (Guatemala)
2) Michelle (Fiji)
3) Peih-Gee (China)
4) Taj (Tocantins)
5) Dawn (South Pacific)
6) Chad (Vanuatu)
7) Ian (Palau)
8) Yul (Cook Islands)
9) Earl (Fiji)
10 Stephen (Tocantins)

Honorable mentions to Lydia (Guatemala), Margaret (Guatemala), Sundra (Cook Islands), Frosti (China), Tracy (Micronesia), Susie (Gabon), Erinn (Tocantins), Brendan (Tocantins), Natalie (Samoa), Brett (Samoa), Andrea (Redemption Island), Kim (One World), Sabrina (One World), Denise (Philippines), Malcolm (Philippines), and Carter (Philippines)

Villains:
1) Twila (Vanuatu) - though I had trouble deciding whether I should put her here or in the Heroes tribe
2) Natalie (Micronesia)
3) Laura (Samoa)
4) NaOnka (Nicaragua)
5) Abi-Maria (Philippines)
6) Chris (Vanuatu) - see Twila
7) Judd (Guatemala)
8) Shane (Panama)
9) Jean-Robert (China)
10) Troyzan (One World)

Honorable mentions to Alex (Fiji) Stacy (Fiji) and Alicia (One World).

Thoughts?

Edited to include Shane. I almost forgot about him!!

I definitely think TWoP would come up with a better cast than TPTB would!

I actually find it a bit sad how small the pool of players I actually like/find interesting is. I tried to pick people who I actually feel embody these roles, rather than trying to shove people that I already like into ilfitting categories (i.e. I really want to select Andrea, but she isn't particularly "heroic". Just awesome.) However, I also resisted the typecasts the editing obviously wanted to shove down my throat. For example, I fully expect Matt to be front and centre of the next Hero/Villain format. But because he irritates me to no end, I refuse to bite. Also, I am all for a good Villain, but anybody who was just straight-up awful need not apply (hi, NaOnka!)

As with the actual show, I found it much easier to select Villains than Heroes. Heh.

Heroes:

-Teresa (Africa)
-Peih-Gee (China)
-Taj (Tocantins)
-Sabrina (One World)
-Lisa (Philippines)
-Ian (Palau)
-Yul (Cook Islands)
-Stephen (Tocantins)
-Mike (Redemption Island) (he is boring, and I didn't particularly care for him, but I can see a valid military reference)
-Malcolm (Philippines)

Villains:

-Kelly (Africa)
-Twila (Vanuatu)
-Natalie (Micronesia)
-Brenda (Nicaragua)
-Kim (One World)
-John (Marquesas)
-Brian (Thailand)
-Jean Robert (China)
-Albert (South Pacific)
-Troyzan (One World)

Honorable mentions include Erinn and Brian C., who are among my top 10 players ever, but just aren't heroic/villain-y enough to warrant inclusion. Ashley Underwood was also considered, because I found her underrated and would love to see what she could do with another try. A strange part of me was also tempted to include Colton: but I know that's just the passage of time talking.

OK, let's think about this realistically and give bonus points to eye candy, we'll force them in somewhere no matter what (which is how many an All-Star was cast to begin with (Amber, Candice, Danielle, etc.). I'll be ignoring the people who would obviously never come back (Colleen, Greg, etc.)

So let's start with people I would enjoy/not mind seeing again:
Philippines
Denise
Malcolm

One World
Kim
Kat's kind of amusing
Troy
Chelsea if we need hotness

South Pacific
Sophie
Dawn
Rick's Moustache (not the rest of him, just the 'stache)

Redemption Island
Andrea
Andrea
Andrea
Maybe Mike, we'll see if he's needed

Nicaragua
Brenda if we need an emergency jump in hotness
Marty

Samoa
Natalie
Jaison
Dave Ball

Tocantins
Fishbach
Erinn
Taj

Gabon
Nobody

Micronesia
Tracy (stretching things as she was out early)

China
Peih-Gee
Frosti

Fiji
Earl
Michelle
And I have a weird fascination with Boo, so let's mention him

Cook Islands
I like Becky, dammit.
Yul, obviously.

Exile Island
Bob Dawg in a severe emergency
Also, screw it, Misty, who I still think is the single hottest woman the show's ever cast

Guatemala
Danni
Brian

Palau
Ian
Gregg

Vanuatu
Chris
Twila
So want to invite Eliza despite her All-Star appearance

Pearl Islands
Noooooope

Amazon
Noooooope

Thailand
Heidik
Helen

Marquesas
Nope

Africa
Nope

Australia
Nope

Borneo
Nope

So that's a bunch of names.

Men (17)
Heidik
Chris
Ian
Gregg
Brian (Guatemala)
Bob Dawg (emergency)
Yul
Earl
Boo
Frosti
Fischbach
Jaison
Dave Ball
Marty
Mike
Malcolm
Troy

Obvious heroes:
Yul
Earl
Malcolm

Obvious villians:
Heidik

The heroes team with Yul and Malcolm is already pretty athletic, so let's find two relatively unathletic heroes:

Fishbach, Brian; this eliminates Mike from consideration. Also Frosti.
As for the villains
Let's say Chris is a villain, as is Dave Ball. Then we'll add Ian for some athleticism and claim that he totally betrayed Tom so is a villain (the show's justifications are bullshit, so so are mine). Probably want one more athletic dude to be a villain. Sooooo Troy,Gregg or Boo? Let's go Troy, as he fits the theme better.

Now, women (19):
Helen
Twila
Danni
Misty
Becky
Michelle
Peih-Gee
Tracy
Taj
Erinn
Natalie
Brenda
Andrea
Sophie
Dawn
Denise
Kim
Chelsea
Kat

OK, so, we need hot chicks, as this is Survivor. Probably a minimum of four:
Qualifiers: Andrea, Natalie, Brenda, Danni (at least if you don't let her near makeup), Chelsea, Kat; Misty if it was absolutely needed; I don't think it is. I'd even rather see her than Brenda, Kat, or Chelsea, but she was third out...

Heroes:
Andrea
Danni

Villains
Brenda
Natalie stole the win from the show's favorite Russell? Or was allied with Russell? Let's even things out.

Then who else do we want cast:
Kim
Michelle (the show owes her)
Erinn
Peih-Gee

This is skewing super young, so let's add:
Helen
Taj (who I like more than Twila)

Giving us a team of heroes of:

Andrea
Danni
Kim
Michelle
Helen

Villains
Brenda
Natalie
Taj
Peih-Gee
Erinn

I don't like that, among other things, the heroes are loaded for challenges. Andrea/Danni/Kim would absolutely dominate. Erinn and Peih-Gee are no slouches, but this is unfair. Let's decide that Kim is a villain arbitrarily. And we'll make Taj a hero in return.

Final teams:

Heroes
Yul (Cook Islands)
Earl (Fiji)
Malcolm (Philippines)
Fishbach (Tocantins)
Brian (Guatemala)
Andrea (Redemption Island)
Danni (Guatemala)
Taj (Tocantins)
Michelle (Fiji)
Helen (Thailand)

Villains
Brenda (Nicaragua)
Natalie (Samoa)
Kim (One World)
Peih-Gee (China)
Erinn (Tocantins)
Heidik (Thailand)
Chris (Vanuatu)
Dave Ball (Samoa)
Ian (Palau)
Troy (One World)

Maybe some issues with pre-existing alliances on the Heroes, but whatever. I think the Heroes are also a little too strong in challenges, with Yul and Malcolm being the two most athletic guys and Andrea and Danni being the most athletic women. I'll deal with that. Also I didn't really go with equal opportunity eye candy so ladies are stuck with Yul and Malcolm, basically. Also Ian if you're into super tall nerds.

Oh, thank God for this game - I thought I was going to have to do some work tonight!

It's so hard to figure out who's a hero and a villain. The Chris example from the OP is a good one. Is the guy who walks around lying 24/7 to win a game a "villain"? No...but on the other hand, is he a "hero"? And looking over the people who would be locks for my "most hated" tribe...well, they're not necessarily "villains", they're just kind of clueless jerks. (Hi, Shambo!) And that's leaving aside how subjective this stuff is---there are already people upthread who disagree with my stances that Kelly G is a hero and Terry a villain.

Okay, so limiting myself to one per season (because the show's already done two Heroes vs. Villains seasons, it just called one of them Fiji), and no winners of whose legitimacy I am convinced:

HEROES
Becky (Cook Islands)
Gregg (Palau) (again, I don't think he's a hero or a villain - just a guy playing the hell out of Survivor)
Jaime (China) (editing be damned)
Jake (Thailand)
Kelly (Africa)
Margaret (Guatemala)
Matty (Gabon)
Ralph (RI)
Rodger (Australia)
Scout (Vanuatu)

VILLAINS
Colton (One World)
Erik (Samoa)
Heidi (Amazon)
Jane (Nicaragua)
Joel (Borneo)
John (Marquesas)
Lisi (Fiji)
Nicole (Pearl Islands) (enlightenedbum, I see your Misty and I raise you)
Sophie (South Pacific)
Terry (Panama)

Now, if I'd cast multiple people from the same season, obviously I'd have put Aras on the Heroes - if I had to pick one pair of players to watch play together again, it'd be Aras and Terry. Actually, what would be best is if we could do this thirty years from now. "A mere child of 60 cannot possibly understand this game. You may have grandkids, but wait until you have great-grandkids. Then you'll know a thing or two about life."

The only way I'd ever want to see Colton again is if it's a reward challenge for the best reward ever in Survivor history, and the race they have to win is to see which team is the first to throw Colton into a live volcano (and hope the volcano doesn't spit him out in disgust).

If Colleen and Greg are out of the question (why?), I'd love to see Gretchen come back. And the guy (Hunter?) who ended up hosting some kind of TV documentary. I'd even take Frank, the one who kept wandering around camp pretending to be an elephant.

I'm not sure about Greg, but Colleen was presumably ruled out because she already turned down SAS, saying "that part of her life was over." I haven't seen a peep from her since her Chapstick commercial. Her All-Star spot was then offered to Elisabeth, who had to decline because she had just won the job on The View. Third on the depth chart for "hot young chick from the earliest seasons" was, ironically, Amber, who won not only the million dollars but an apparently happy and successful marriage.

I doubt very much that Gretchen would ever be invited back; suing the producers kind of makes you persona non grata.

I don't know all the seasons well enough to have everyone committed to memory, but I'll throw out a few names I wouldn't mind seeing again:

  • My fellow Mainers: Bob from Gabon, Julie from Vanuatu. Yes, Julie has the conflict-of-interest issue. The other two people with Maine ties had such a marginal effect on their games they're not worth discussing here.
  • Hunter from Marquesas.
  • Kelly from Africa
  • Wanda from Palau. Victim of the worst twist ever. Make her a villain if you must, but I think that would break her heart.
I think they'd all be Heroes, to be honest.

A part of me loves your cast more than mine! Mostly because you found a way to fit in Erinn, Andrea and Brian where I could not. I also overlooked Danni/Natalie/Earl because I wanted to avoid stacking it with winners.

I think Natalie and Peih-Gee are a stretch as villains, but I guess PG had that whole IC-throwing thing, which was an attempt to screw over James. And we all know how Peachy feels about James and Russell.

The Chris example from the OP is a good one. Is the guy who walks around lying 24/7 to win a game a "villain"? No...but on the other hand, is he a "hero"?

By the show's standards, this absolutely makes him a Villain. Which is precisely why I vastly preferred the Villain tribe on the original HvV.

Kelly G is a hero

I think if given the choice, Kelly would choose to be labelled a Villain. She opposed Lex, which to any right-minded individual, makes her the "Good Guy". However, she lists "Manipulating Men" as a hobby and has a morally questionable sense of humor. Also, I want the Villain tribe to dominate once again!

I like Becky, dammit.

I was thisclose to including her! Because I want to see how dominant she can be without living in Yul's shadow! ... But then I included Yul, and realized I was wasting a slot.

I was also tempted to include Neleh, because I am fascinated by the thought of her growing up into a mature adult that would not offer somebody a mint out of her mouth. But there were too many other choices.

I doubt very much that Gretchen would ever be invited back; suing the producers kind of makes you persona non grata.

Wasn't that Stacy? If Gretchen also sued the producers, I would be surprised, as that doesn't seem to fit her character.

The other two people with Maine ties had such a marginal effect on their games they're not worth discussing here.

For some reason I've always had a soft spot for Zoe. She seemed like a kick-ass competitor, and I find her face fascinating. Not ugly, and certainly not pretty, but full of character.

Thanks!

I think if you just ignore the Heroes/Villains conceit except in the loosest sense it gets much easier. I mean, how is Candice a hero? Or Danielle a villain? Or Amanda who backstabbed James is a hero, Courtney is not (because of snark!). The distinctions are meaningless, so you make the picks then wedge them into their categories.

I met her once, after the season, and I agree. Of course, she was a lobster fisherman* on Monhegan, an island 10 miles offshore which has 1 ferry/mailboat 3 times a week in the winter; that's a career that either finds character, builds it, or drives you out in a hurry.

* I saw one of her press clippings where "fisherman" is her preferred title....

I don't have the kind of mind it takes to split tribes evenly by challenge strength, or avoiding possible season-based alliances, or that kind of thing; I'm just going to list some people I'd like to see again, divided basically arbitrarily into Heroes and Villains. I did manage to make it gender-balanced!

HEROES

Ian (Palau) -- my original Survivor Boyfriend
Malcolm (Philippines) -- my current Survivor Boyfriend
Sierra (Tocantins) -- my favorite adorable underdog mopey loser
Cao Boi (Cook Islands) -- another Survivor Boyfriend, if you can believe it, and great character all around
Brian (Guatemala) -- eliminated-way-too-soon strategist
Darrah (Pearl Islands) -- my favorite accent
Andrea (Redemption Island) -- on another season, she coulda been somebody
Sabrina (One World) -- this time Sabrina I expect you to play a little more though
Tracy (Micronesia) -- the fan who came to play
Brendan (Tocantins) -- just was so happy to be there, attempted Exile Alliance

VILLAINS

Kim (One World) -- gets the Parvati Shallow Memorial Villain Chair, will win
Judd (Guatemala) -- continually entertaining doofus/jerk, man
Shane (Exile Island) -- perhaps the Survivor I'd most like to party with
Abi (Philippines) -- might win Most Improved, and I pretty much always just liked her anyway
Stephen (Tocantins) -- villain because he didn't follow through on the Exile Alliance (sob)
Natalie (Micronesia) -- crazy town
Brenda (Nicaragua) -- I know she isn't considered all that, but she was my girl at first
Jean-Robert (China) -- since this is my season, I am putting Courtney as permanent non-voting TC face-maker also
Alicia (One World) -- second best player on One World?
Pete (Philippines) -- mostly because I need another dude

I would have liked also to include Taj, Erinn, Kat, Lisa, etc. but my favorites are almost all women. I did want Frosti but I can't make him a villain! and there's no room in the heroes. There's probably people I'm forgetting that I will regret not including, too.

This is a good topic, here are my picks:

Heroes:
1. Earl(Fiji): Just seemed like a really nice guy.
2. Yul (Cook Islands): See what I wrote about Earl.
3. Rodger (Australia): We need at least one old guy in the game and Tarzan was not really a Hero so I went with Rodger.
4. Dave Ball (Samoa): I have no real reason for this pick but I thought he was a pretty good player.
5. Andrew Savage (Pearl Islands):I will probably catch hell for this but it was between him and Fabio and I chose Andrew. Now he was a total dick to Lil but I think the producers would stick him on the Heroes team anyway.
6. Michelle (Fiji): She seemed like a total sweetheart and she got screwed by the way she was eliminated.
7. Colleen (Borneo):I am not going to lie I have a huge crush on her so I would love to see her back.
8. Kim (One World): Here is another one who I do not see as a Hero or a Villain, I just see her has one of the best players in recent years so she gets a spot.
9. Taj (Tocantins): I just really liked her and that is the only reason.
10. Sabrina (One World): I thought about Lisa or Denise from the last season but in the end I would really love to see Sabrina play again.

Villains
1. Colton(One World): Yeah I think he is a huge piece of racist crap, but if anyone is a villian it is him.
2. Rocky(Fiji): This guy was a dumb tool who belongs on this team.
3. Crazy Shane Powers (Panama): I actually did not mind Shane but I can see why others hated him and there is no way he belongs on the Heroes team.
4. Judd(Guatemala): Another player that I actually liked but I would love to see him back for another game and he belongs with the rest of the Heels.
5. John Carroll (Marquesas): I did not see the entire Marquesas season but from what I did see of it he belongs here. He is came across as very funny during his interview with that Australian guy that interviews former Survivors. Plus John has said that he hates Colton so that is a huge plus for me.
6. Abi-Maria (Philippines): I can't stand this chick, talk about someone with little self awareness.
7. Natalie (Micronesia): This crazy chick fits in well on this team.
8. Alicia (One World): Do I really need to put down why I have ManTroll 2.0 on this list.
9. Peih-Gee (China): I personally would consider Peih-Gee a Hero as I really wanted her to win that season, but I think most people would not.
10. Erinn (Tocantins): To be honest I really do not consider her an Hero or a Villain, but if I had to choose I would have to go with Villain. Plus this team needed an uber hot chick on it.

I would really like to put both Lisi and Brian H. on this team but I saw very little of season five and like I said I needed eyecandy so Erinn made the cut for the women.

I'm going to try to make a list of people who, in addition to having only played once, hasn't won yet. I'm also trying to divide things so that both sides are physically capable.
Spoiler

Heroes:
Michelle (Fiji): Screwed by one of the worst twists in Survivor history.
Tracy (FvF): An aggressive player who got screwed mostly by a quitter.
Erinn (Tocantins): I think she's pretty hot, and she was also a solid competitor.
Margaret (Guatemala): Physically tough and super helpful.
Lisa (Philippines): She has the ability to be both "good" and strategic. She was the only person who tried to blindside Malcolm when it was optimal.
Brendan (Tocantins): He was easy-going and a great foil to "Coach."
Jaison (Samoa): A strong competitor who could probably shine on a different season.
Chad (Vanuatu): One of the nice guys in a season I ultimately found bland.
Ian (Palau): How can a gangly goofy dolphin-trainer NOT be a hero?
Butch (Amazon): Token older male and decent person, accidentally burning the camp notwithstanding.

Alternate Heroes: Sydney (Tocantins), Darrah (Pearl Islands), Frosti (China), Matty (Gabon)

Villians:
Alicia (One World): A perfect entry. Physically capable, deluded, and rude.
Natalie (FvF): Never liked her.
Peih-Gee (China): Peih-Gee actually was in the Top Three in the voting for Fan Favorites in China, but I feel this list needs one questionable slotting, and PG wasn't exactly genial to bigger Fan Favorite James.
Debbie (Tocantins): Crazy, sometimes hilariously so.
Heidi (Amazon): The other evil stepsister. Wow, so many of these female villains are delusional.
Shane (Exile Island): I'm interested to see how he plays without having just quit smoking.
Alex (Fiji): Smarmy douche with a horrible tenure as juror.
Jean-Robert (China): Skeevy, but not without his small entertaining moments.
Jamie (Guatemala): He was confrontational and paranoid.
Silas (Africa): One of the original victims of the Survivor twists.

Alternate Villains: Abi-Maria (Philippines), Lisi (Fiji), Matthew (Amazon), Marty (Nicaragua)

As tempting as it is to automatically place Lisi in the Villians tribe, I just found her too repulsive and thought that she sucked at each component (physical, strategic, social) of Survivor. To be included from a personality standpoint, I think a contestant should be either nice, charming, self-aware, or entertaining. She was none of those things, IMO, and even her personality was essentially irredeemable.

Looking back at my original list, I did consider taking NaOnka out and replacing her with Courtney from Panama (does anybody else remember her and her hilarious conversations/interactions with Shane?), though I'm not sure she did anything 'villainous.' I also considered replacing Earl with Boo from Fiji, mostly because I probably put too many previous winners in my Heroes slot and because he turned out to be the funniest and nicest person in the original 5-person alliance of himself, Stacy, Lisi, Edgardo, and Alex, but decided that I couldn't get a good enough sense of his strategy to include him.

Oh, I agree with you there, jsm1125. Lisi tops my list for Worst Survivor Contestant ever, and that's why I decided not to put her on the list, but felt she deserved some mention for being one of the most terrible players ever to make jury. But unlike NaOnka, who was also horrible and a quitter, Lisi was hilarious because of the comeuppance she received when facing off against the ground.

I also think it's interesting that Kim (One World) has been given a roughly even split on both the Heroes and the Villains tribes. I didn't consider anything she did as villainous, but she didn't really have a heroic story arc either, so to speak. She'd be a dominant force on either side, though.

Of the people who played HVV, I'd say Kim's winning game was probably most like:
1. Tom - hero
2. J.T. - hero
3. Parvati - villain

What makes one of those a villain and two of those heroes? Well, one of those is a woman. So by the show's standards, yeah, Kim's probably a villain.

Yeah, I put Kim on the Villains just because Parvati was. Everyone on my list is pretty much a hero to me, except maybe Pete and Jean-Robert.

When it comes to women, the "Heroes" and "Villains" thing is even more nutso than for the men, most egregiously with Danielle. (I would say "poor Danielle" but being put on the Villains meant she made it deep into the jury, and without Russell being an idiot would have made it to the end, whereas on the Heroes she would have been dead in the water, so in the end it was good for her.) All she did was win the immunity that Probst & Co. obviously felt was Terry's right and due.

I think Courtney said in one of her exit interviews that "Villain" just meant "outspoken woman" on that season.

Parvati, like Kim, had no qualms with backstabbing and betraying whoever was necessary to reach the finals. Obviously this is the way the game should be played, but they didn't cart around that leadership and honor bullshit that JT and Tom had. JT and Tom had a relatively straight path to victory and didn't require all the wheeling and dealing involved in Parvati and Kim's wins. Stephen and Ian did that for them.

As I said upthread re: Kelly G, I think most intelligent players would consider it a good thing to be considered a Villain, because it typically means that you're either a strategic-minded player, or as Courtney says, outspoken.

For the record, I could never consider somebody a "Hero" who treated Andrea the way he did when she got to Redemption. That was just disgusting. Also, sweater.

Anyway, here are the most popular entrants thus far:

Hero Tribe:

-Yul (Cook Islands) HHHHH
-Michelle (Fiji) HHHHH
-Stephen (Tocantins) HHHVV
-Taj (Tocantins) HHHH
-Ian (Palau) HHHHV
-Lisa (Philippines) HHH
-Earl (Fiji) HHH
-Sabrina (One World) HHH
-Danni (Guatemala) HHH
-Malcolm (Philippines) HHH

Villain Tribe:

-Natalie (Micronesia) VVVVVV
-Peih-Gee (China) HHVVVV
-Shane (Panama) VVVV
-Jean Robert (China) VVVV
-Troyzan (One World) VVV
-John (Marquesas) VVV
-Brian (Thailand) VVV
-Abi-Maria (Philippines) VVVV
-Kim (One World) VVVH

(Alicia and Judd also had VVV, but went with John/Brenda/Brian for more season coverage).

See the reason why I would say Parvati is a Villain and Kim is not is because of how Parvati played the game both times. Parvati was a huge asshole the first time around and in her second run she seemed to gloat over how she was playing the game. Kim did not really do any of that. Kim was in charge but she also seemed very vulnerable as well.

I really wanted to put Butch on my Heroes Team but, even though he was one of my favorite players, he just was not high profile enough which is why I chose Rodger.

Heroes
Stephen Fischbach (Tocantins)
Yul Kwon (Cook Islands)
Andrew Savage (Pearl Islands)
Ian Rosenberger (Palau)
Malcolm Freburg (Phillipines)
Crystal Cox (Gabon) - I probably just lost everybody. I know she’s quite a polarizing character. But I don’t care. Her voting confessional during the Randy boot was possibly one of the greatest moments in Survivor history. I think the fact that she opposed the Onion Alliance so thoroughly makes her a ‘hero.’ They’re all pretty much the worst people.
Michelle Yi (Fiji)
Natalie White (Samoa)
Denise Stapley (Phillipines)
Taj Johnson-George (Tocantins)

Villains

John Carroll (Marquesas)
Todd Herzog (China)
Shane Powers (Panama)
Brian Heidik(Thailand)
Marty Piombo (Nicaragua) - It mostly comes down to of the villainous guys that have yet to play again, he offends me the least.
Peih-Gee Law (China)
Heidi Strobel (Amazon)
Natalie Bolton (Micronesia)
Abi-Maria Gomes (Phillipines)
Kim Spradlin (One World) I originally included her in the heroes tribe, because I think that’s definitely more true to her character. But… she did blindside the vast majority of the jury, so I guess that makes her a villain...

This was really hard, so many people I wanted to include unfortunately just didn't make the cut. Oh well. I originally had descriptions on why I chose each person, but they were like a paragraph long, so they also had to be cut.

I tried to stay true to the Hero and Villain theme, and although some people could argued to be otherwise, I think I stayed pretty true to it. I also did not include heroes for heroes sake or villains for villains sake, I wanted to see these people again. So players I found to be awful and/or truly annoying, mainly Colton and Judd, although they perfectly fit the villain trope, I have no desire to see them again, so there's no way I was ever going to list them.

Overall, I tried to include survivors from as many different seasons as possible. The only seasons missing are the first three, Vanuatu, Guatemala and both Redemption Island-themed outtings. Frankly because I haven't seen the first three in at least ten years so I have little to no memory of the contestants. The others had a couple contestants that were close, Chris or Twila, Danni, Dawn, but were edged out, so tough luck.

I also tried to make them roughly even for challenges. I definitely think the heroes have stronger male competitors (Yul, Ian, Malcolm, possibly Savage vs. Heidik and possibly Carroll) but Villains definitely have stronger female competitors (Denise, possibly Michelle vs. Kim, Peih-Gee, and possibly Heidi and Natalie). I do think the hero side has a bit more going for it. But Kim and Heidik were definitely challenge monsters, and Peih-Gee was no slouch, so they do have something. Plus, I love Crystal, but damn that girl sucked in challenges so maybe she'll even the scales a little.

I also included an even amount of winners on both sides, so although three per team is perhaps too high, I want to see all of these people play again, and I couldn't find it in my heart to cut em. I also think three is a good number because although the "they've already won" card will definitely be a factor in people's mind, the fact that there's three still gives them a fighting chance rather than being immediately picked off.

P.S. Sorry for the length, didn't mean to go on a diatribe.
