Wow that sucked. Well except for Dan being revealed as Gossip Girl because that was kind of cool and I sort of suspected him early in the series (of course I checked out by S2 but still). Blair was uber annoying, Chuck was still Chuck who I never could stand so they were perfect for each other. Also, that Kristen Bell and Rachel Bilson cameo was horrible, mostly because of Bilson who really sucked.

Really? Fucking Dan? Flop finale for a flop show.

The only good things about this were little Henry Bass, who is adorable, and Jack and Georgina getting together at the end.

And really Nate for mayor? Really?

Well that sucked, hard, to the very last minute. I think it was so bad that time started going in reverse.

So what was the incendiary thing that was supposed to happen in the last fifteen minutes? Yawn.

I enjoyed seeing most of the old characters again, but it was pretty bad. I don't think it would be as terrible, if they hadn't wasted this entire season on ancillary characters.

I am reminded of the series finale of The O.C., in that the last fifteen minutes were great, but the first 45 were stuck dealing with wrapping up the season's abysmally stupid arc. Seriously, the whole Bart Bass thing was fucking dumb. But I loved the Gossip Girl reveal, the flash forward was nice, if brief and devoid of context, and having the cast all in the same scene, finally, for once, was nice. Baby Bass was adorable.

Mostly I wish this finale happened a season or two ago so I actually would have cared a little more about it.

That was a joke, right?

I couldn't tell how far into the future that was at the end. Dan joined the upper echelon and still retained his hair that looks like shit? I think not.

My god, the horror.

Vanessa, Eric, and Juliet cameos for the win. The rest was complete bullshit.

And little Henry is a homely child. Yikes.

Terrible. When you are stealing the story structure of the series finale of Dawson's Creek, you know you're in bad shape.

I love how this show shamelessly ended using Florence's You Got the Love, the same song that closed out Sex and the City years ago and just in time for The Carrie Diaries.

yayy at mini bass and Jenny, eric, vanessa appearances. Season 4,5, and 6 could've used them.

So when Dan writes a bunch of articles about his friends, that's considered horrible and punch worthy. But when Dan posts gossip/rumours/lies and some truths on the internet, it's all good. Show? Why do you make no sense? I do like that he's Gossip Girl, but if I was his friend I would be pissed. How can you truly trust someone who did that?

I though the way Chuck proposed was stupid, I thought the wedding was stupid, I hated that nothing happened. All that lead up and everyone gets a happy ending. Wasn't this season suppose to be dark? Where was the darkness? This just makes me disappointed that the Secret Circle got cancelled and this got a final send off. I thought season 5 was bad, but it was so much better than what happened here.

I especially hated that it looked like Jack and Georgina are together. What happened to Phillip?

Everyone was stupid, I'm angry at myself for watching this till the end. And I'm sorry CW, but the Carrie Diaries looks annoying despite how awesome you tell me it is.

Well, that was boring and uneventful. As was the whole season, I guess. Sage and Stephen must be the most pointless characters to exist in the history of television.

I refuse to dignify the Georgina/Jack nonsense with even an eyeroll. Georgina/Philip forever.

Only two bits I enjoyed was the Kristen Bell cameo (residual Veronica Mars love) and the fact the whole "Ivy League, based on the Ivy Dickens autobiography starring Ivy Burke and Lola Rhodes." Because of course Ivy would, and Lola would, and Olivia would.

Goodbye, show. You did entertain me, so thanks for that.

Good God, there were so many endless ads for that show every few minutes, I was surprised Gossip Girl didn't turn out to be Carrie Bradshaw.

Dan is such an abusive dick. He shames the woman he loves for YEARS all so she will respect him. And she of course in the end loves it.

Just gross.

That was bad. I wasn't expecting much so I'm not too upset.

Nate ended up being exactly who Blair and his family wanted to be.

What was the point of Sage?! Lola?! Ivy?! We wasted episodes on these people and nothing.

Dan as Gossip Girl? I'm pretty sure they just thought of that. It would be a great idea if it wasn't a massive retcon.

Why bring Bart Bass back to kill him again and then to have Chuck fight over BI if it ultimately was never mentioned again?! I mean, we got Nate as "mayor" and Blair discussing patterns and nothing for Chuck.

Whatever show, good riddance. I will at least enjoy the well written fanfic (and season one).

ETA: Seeing Vanessa and Jenny just made me sad that we got rid of them for useless characters and I really didn't like either girl.

That was quite literally the worst TV finale I have ever seen. Everything was just... terrible. Dan as Gossip Girl? Makes no sense. Otherwise, if I'm to go with it, it makes him out to be a legit stalker who made a lot of people miserable, and it makes his marriage to Serena SO creepy and disturbing.

Then again, this is Gossip Girl, where true love means pimping, domestic violence and sexual assault. Oh wait, I forget, 'It's not abuse when it's Chuck and Blair'. That poor little kid. With parents like those, he is doomed to spent the rest of his life in a psychiatrist's office.

Nate as Mayor? Goodbye New York, it was nice knowing you.

The writers behind this show do not deserve to get work ever again. Stephanie Savage is a disgrace to the profession.

Why spend all that time building up Rufus/Lily for it all to fizzle out to nothing?

What a shame that this show squandered the only good thing it had going for it towards the end - Dan and Blair.

What an awful, awful show. So glad it's been put out of this misery. I'm sure the cast is just as happy, and I hope they all go on to bigger and better things.

Pretty much everything you said, KookaMonga. I really don't understand how they saw Dan's actions as Gossip Girl as different from what he had done with Inside or this entire season with the articles. They shouldn't have received that news well. Blair was the only one who reacted consistently (but then was quickly talked out of it). Wasn't a recurring theme with this show how terrible, ruthless, and intrusive Gossip Girl was in all of their lives? What difference does it make that Dan wrote blasts about himself? Not really the same as spilling all the secrets about people he is supposed to care about?

Dan seems to find fault with a lot of Serena's behavior even if does love her (somehow) and vice versa. Even five years later, I don't see how their marriage makes sense. They are just as dysfunctional as Chuck and Blair, but in different ways. Chuck and Blair are the worst. Nate as the Mayor of New York?

That Rachel Bilson cameo was weird and was not a very good execution of a meta moment.

And The Carrie Diaries looks extra wack. Watching that never.

I know the series is finished, but I really think someone needs to change the title of Dan's thread to:

"Dan Humphrey: That's why his hair is so big, it's full of secrets".

Best thing about this episode for me was Nate running for mayor, because you just know he'd never become mayor and would drop out of the running due to some sort of sex scandal/crime. Embezzling/sleeping with a minor years ago anyone? I'd like to believe this was the deliberate choice of the writers to poke fun at this as I'm sure I'm not the only one whose mind went there.

The Dan/Serena pairing ended on kind of a disturbing note, with Serena de facto marrying her abuser. The man who shamed her, drove to her several near-breakdowns, stalked her, and all because he was such a Nice Guy™ and wanted to be accepted by her. WTF. Just WTF.
