From zap2it.com:

The final four teams race through France with the $1 million prize in mind; contestants face a terrifying roadblock inspired by Houdini.

I know that the Beekmans were terrible racers, whiney, and irritating, and I’m sure I ought to be feeling outraged at the travesty of it all, but my high school loser self can’t help being thrilled that the bumbling nerds beat the pretty blonde people. That’s the way life is *supposed* to work out, and it almost never does!

I didn't realize how upset I would be with a Beekman win until they actually won the race.

Happy the Chipmunks won a couple legs.

Really happy those foul ass twins were booted before the final 3. They were horrid.

Ah, I can't believe it! I didn't mind the Beekmans but I really wanted the Chippies to win. I just felt like they were the better racers.

The twins might just be the snootiest pair of ratty ass bitches the race has ever seen, so far, imho.

Wow, the way they kept going on at Josh and Brent despite the fact that they, themselves, were weak team, when they actually had to do things for themselves and were only saved to race to the final because of a NEL, and yet they want to cry about riding on coattails? They actually made me like Brent and Josh more than I ever thought possible.

And then somehow they wanted the others to lose Brent and Josh as if that would miraculously make a space for them to take back once they finished their speed bump, because apparently Brent and Josh would just roam around aimlessly in circles otherwise.

They never seemed all that smart, to me, to begin with, but I would assume they’d understand how distance and location works. No one is following you when they’re traveling the same road to the same destination you are, idiots.

Imo, not only did the twins race dirty and talk filthy, but they overall acted like disgusting pieces of trash and nearly ruined the experience of watching the race for me in a way very few racers ever have. At least they did not win, thank the good lord. In fact just seeing them come in fourth, after their cocky little asses had spent the whole leg running their mouths, I was quite glad to see that. May the word “twinnie” never be uttered again in the history of mankind, for always and forever amen.

And really all of the crap with the teams having “alliances” and waiting for one another and “helping” one another, it’s a race for a million dollars, put your asses in gear and realize that the other three teams are in your way, they aren’t going to help you win jack in the end, their goal is to take the money for themselves. It almost makes me wish there was some rule against teams fraternizing with one another.

And I am alright with the winners, they overcame their own weaknesses and they really earned it, it was anyone’s race at the end, they did not do anything too wrong or too right over anyone else, they just edged the others out at the end and I can respect that. Go Beekman boys, that farm just got a whole lot nicer I'd imagine.

Hooray for the Beekmans!! They never gave up even when they heard the other teams colluding (is that a word??) against them.

Congrats to the Beekmans, the Chippies, & the Texans.

I am utterly flabbergasted. If you ever needed proof that the only leg you really NEED to win on the Race is the last one, now you have it.

So glad to see the Rescue Rangers being so gracious on the mat. Never would have thought at the beginning of the season that they would be neck-and-neck with Jet and Cord as one of my favorite teams ever.

Awesome ending! First, the obnoxius twins are eliminated, then the underdogs who heard others making fun of them so many times pull out the win. I wanted to strangle the twins during the chow challenge. This was truly an episode that could have been called The Ultimate Redemption.

Was this the "best" win ever? Hell no. But they have been good with the mental tasks, so I can't hate on the Beekman win. Also I was happy we got to see a nice sweet kiss between them.

Oh Chippies. So damn close. Unfinished Business 2 (Browsie Boogaloo) is next for them!

TAR history: not kind to the argument that gay people are underdogs on this particular show.

I was rooting for the pretty people (the Jameses) because they seemed to enjoy the race the most. None of these teams were super competent so I didn't have that going for any of them. I especially liked that Jaymes seemed to make a particular effort to learn "thank you" in every language they would possibly need.

Congratulations to Josh & Brent! I am glad that they were able to pull through on the leg that really mattered and proved that sometimes, the underdogs do win. Jaymes & James and Trey & Lexi ran a great race as well. I'm glad that Jaymes and James were able to win the cars for their families.

That was kind of disappointing as I was hoping for the Chippies to win but they had a rough go by not noticing the clue at Coney Island and then loosing their cab.

Oh shit. I have never been rooting so hard for a team to win as I was for the Chips, and I realized it about quarter after 9 when I just knew they weren't going to win. I just didn't think so from the interviews.

I don't dislike the Beekmans - though if their pronouncement that "nice guys finish first" was correct, the Chips would have won - I just so, so wanted James & Jaymes to win.

Glad they won the cars though.

Great final task - and why am I not surprised that only the Beekmans knew the UN building symbol? - but *sigh* I really wanted J&J to win.

Ah well; congrats Beekmans.

That was deeply disappointing. I can't believe I went from wanting Jaymes and James out in the first leg to them being my hands-down favorites.

I will adore Jaymes forever for saying to the one cabbie in a calm, measured tone "you have no idea how important this is for us, sir" (or words to that effect).

Lexi, on the other hand, needs to be quiet. Always.

How random was that little snippet from monster truck interviewing that meeting real live gays helped him overcome homophobia?

The twins are ugly, awful women.

I don't think there's ever been a race when I actually liked the final 3 teams. A tad bit disappointed that the Jaymes and James did not win; at least Mom got a new car! I am ok that the Beekman boys, they won the leg that counts, after all. And Trey and Lexi ran a great race but that last road block was a killer. I knew 4 or 5 of the greetings, the others would have been a mess for me.

eta: I already forgot-- did the cabbie cost the Chippies time on the final race? If so, bad taxi luck strikes again.

Hugely unsatisfying ending. I was going to say that the Beekman's ran exactly one good leg--that being the final one--but since they fucked up the pizza task, I can't even say that. I was glad to see them get a little more competitive in the second to last leg, but they also got ugly and sexist, so, definitely not happy to see them win. Especially when James and Jaymes were so close.

At least James won his mom a car, though. That was nice.

Well, I like a good underdog story, so I'm ok with this outcome. There's a piece of me that feels like it's more "fair" for the team that had the best cumulative performance to win, but in reality I get bored/annoyed when the winner is totally predictable.

I also kind of like that the win came down to a mental challenge (and not a super-easy one). Maybe it's because that's the only area where I feel like I'd thrive on the show (I think I would have done pretty well at the language/flag challenge). Too often the challenges come down to physical strength and navigation skills or (the worst) cab luck.

Josh/Brent could be annoying at times, but overall I liked them and I thought they had a very sweet relationship. And I was glad Josh had a chance to prove his worth after being berated about the pizzas. The Chippendales were my favorites (their positivity seemed very genuine and they remained classy throughout the race), but at least they got cars. To be honest, I was shocked the Chippendales did as well as they did in the final memory challenge. Trey/Lexi seemed nice enough (I'm so used to obnoxious alpha males who yell when their wives/girlfriends fall behind on tasks), but they totally bored me.

I will adore Jaymes forever for saying to the one cabbie in a calm, measured tone "you have no idea how important this is for us, sir" (or words to that effect).

I know, little things like that really show a person's true nature IMO. I was totally repulsed when the rodeo guy went off on his cab driver back in Bangladesh(?). To be honest, I don't know if I could have been as polite and rational as Jaymes was if I were that close to a million dollars! I don't think the Chippendales have ever lost their calm or sense of perspective throughout the race - that's what really endeared them to me.

YAY! Go Beekmans!!

The other teams won plenty. When they ostracized the boys on the train, I really started pulling for the Beekmans.

Phil? It's the final pit stop. You need to have somebody iron your new shirts after taking them out of the package.

Couldn't be happier- It was a great final. I was happy with the way it turned out though I wanted the Chippendales to win.

Just thankful that the twins were out- they kind of showed their true colors a little more in that leg- but gotta love it.. the Beekmans started to mess with the girls mental state at the doggie chow detour (Doggies!! yay! awww). The twins were so obsessed with beating the beekmans and preserving their ... "Alliance" - that's what did them in really. Trey/Lexi, James/Jaymes and Josh/Brent in the end DID understand that if they had to they needed to run their own race and that is exactly what they did in France. "They should have waited for us!!" said the Twins. Really?! Really Twins... good grief...

And is it just me or did it look like the twins were hurting that poor lady at the corset speed bump?

Seeing the Beekman's run onto the mat for first place was the most jaw-dropping scene of the whole season. It more than made up for having to watch and listen to those horrible Twinnies. I cannot believe they pulled it off and won in the end. AMAZING.

Thought that the Chippendales had this one in the bag due to the editing and voice overs re: sick dad.

I just didn't like that the showed the Beekmans at their worst in the final leg. I just didn't like the bickering. Too bad the Chippies didn't win, but I'm ok with the Beekmans. I'm super pumped that they showed their kiss on the mat!

Aww, the only team I didn't want to win won. Bummer. They were never any fun to watch, and they didn't even ace the last challenge - they did process of elimination, same as the others. They never escaped elimination because they hustled or were better; to the end, they only survived because others made mistakes.

Anyone else get the Animaniacs "Hello Song" stuck in their heads during that last bit?

Loved that mushroom challenge. I've never seen mushrooms commerically growing before. Somehow they look tasty even in dank blocks of dirt and manure. Wonder why no one took in a flashlight? Against the rules of the roadblock?

All in all, a great finale that was exciting and required some good mental and navigation skills on the part of the racers. Shame about the last five minutes.

KARMA. First the twins, then Trey and Lexi. That's what happens when you knowingly steal other Racers money.

As much as I wanted the Chippendales to win, seeing the Beekmans take it after all the condescension and plotting against them made it pretty sweet.

Best ending to this show, in a really long time! I’m so happy for the winners!

And dude, does every race have to go through a city that gets devastated by a natural disaster shortly thereafter? The racers seem to always barely dodge tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc…

I turned to my husband right before the last leg of the race to say it looks like they made it through this race without the inevitable post-race natural disaster. All they have to do is stay clear of the Eastern seaboard.

He said, “That won’t happen. I don’t think they’ve ended the race there since the first season. And then bamb, “Fly to New York City”.

We could not stop laughing.

The most amazing thing in this episode were the twins saying "Oh God, they're leaving us???" as if they expected their alliance to hang out and wait for them to finish their speed bump. If anyone needed further proof that they are spoiled, entitled brats, that was it.

Who was riding coattails, again, twins???
