Maybe I'm extra tired tonight, but this episode felt, to me, better than the others from this season. The gang interacted, nobody pissed me off, and it was just... nice.

I got a few chuckles, I didn't want to shove a sock in Lily's mouth to stop her from talking, and I was invested enough in the plot to be angry when Brad screwed Marshall over at the end.

I think that anger is entirely rational.I get irrationally angry when every time Saget says "but more on that later".

Robin and Barney's plot was like the opposite. Fun the whole way through, cringe-worthy ending.
Overall, not season 1-4 tier material, but one of the better episodes of this season so far.

Robin and Barney drag the episodes down and I'd rather them just get together and get it over with then have to watch this get repeated every episode.
While I love Marshall and Lily together, I do think they are better when their storylines are with someone else.

I used to like this show, then I started to hate it... but more on that later.

I mean, I understand (to a certain extent) that they don't know for sure that this is their last season and if it is then they have to have the wedding super quick but they can get them together and still delay the marriage another season. Think about it, they're not even engaged yet! if this is the last season, then you need to get the proposal and the wedding out of the way by the end of the season. If it is not the last season, you have the proposal in the finale and the wedding next season.
But no matter what, the key is just get them together. There is no more drama left here!!

I don't think it matters as long as they're happy with it.Thought the Robin/Barney storyline was icky. What kind of weird marriage are those two gonna have?

It was great to see Brad again. At first I was getting annoyed thinking that the show had just killed another character I used to like (remember brunch?) and I did NOT see the fake-out at the end coming. I hope that means more Brad.
I hope Brad wins the case and then rips his shirt off in celebration.
Oh yeah.

Yeah, I am honestly shocked by the way that they're handling the Robin/Barney plot. Just get them together. There is no more drama left here. You cannot continue to milk it - there is nothing left!! Just get them together all ready.
Actually, I really like what is going on this season with Barney/Robin. When they got together before, they stopped being Bro's to each other, which was ridiculous. The whole reason B/R work is because they can be Bro's. Remember when Robin liked Laser Tag and guns and cigars? I think they are doing a good job this time around of showing why they should be together and why they should work. It seems a bit rushed after Quinn, but it's better than last time.
It's just a crime when Joe Manginello shows up and doesn't take his shirt off.

Liked all the stories this episode actually. Lily was ok, there was a story for Ted, and I liked Barney and Robin. They are going to get together, might as well get it over with.
Isn't it just. Sigh. It's just a crime when Joe Manginello shows up and doesn't take his shirt off.

Ted should still video himself and then watch it back, because it seems to be the only way he's gained any self-awareness. Pssst, Ted...you're still a douche.

Pssst, Ted...you're still a douche.
It's taken him this long to realize he's not the precious snowflake he always thought he was. I figured that out about myself loooooooong ago.
And I can't seem to come to any other conclusion than the mother turning out to be just as much of a pretentious douche as Ted is.

Argh, the lawyer in me was pissed at the Brad "twist." If an actual lawyer did that, in real life, they would have just handed the case to Marshall's firm. I'm talking massive fines, sanctions, disbarment and all the rest. Oh well. Nothing about LawyerMarshall has ever been realistic, and it did bring Joe Manganiella back, so I'll stop complaining now.

No kidding. Never mind that no firm would ever interview a potential employee in a conference room with all those privileged files and notes and boards, let alone leave said interviewee alone in the room.Argh, the lawyer in me was pissed at the Brad "twist." I'm ready for Barney and Robin to get back together and be happily ever after, but I love NPH's acting -- he did such a great job at the end, acting drunk and crushed and embarrassed all at the same time.

The thing about them being Bro's - I actually found them very believable as friends. I always wished they would embrace that concept.
But as a couple? Barney is still a horrible human being, and after all that prenup crap he pulled on Quinn I'm supposed to be rooting for him to get married at the end of the season? To Robin, who frankly deserves better?
I mean Nora & Quinn may have heard about all the stunts that Barney pulled around women, but Robin was actually THERE for it. How could any self-respecting woman date a slimebag like that when she's watched him deceive and manipulate women to get them into bed only to ditch them seconds later (in some pretty horrible ways too)?
I don't think Robin would or should be okay with an open marriage. She's never given even a hint about leaning towards that. She may be not the most girly girl, but all her relationships were firmly monogamous. OTOH, I can't see Barney in a marriage, ever.
And I say this as someone who used to love and still likes Barney because NPH rules.
This episode was okay by the very low standards I have for this show these days.

I think they established that the pre-nup was not only the result of the other lawyer projecting but because Barney and Quinn couldn't trust each other and I think Barney and Robin can so that shouldn't be an issue.Barney is still a horrible human being, and after all that prenup crap he pulled on Quinn I'm supposed to be rooting for him to get married at the end of the season?
I really don't remember Brad from the law school seasons. What did he do there?
And did they switch the actor playing the boss while keeping the character the same or did Marshall switch jobs or what? The actor seemed different and, aside from also being short, he seemed like a completely different character. I don't think I missed an episode...

Of course we are: That way the thing will be over and there won't be another season

I had to look it up myself. Brad was the guy that Marshall thought had a crush on him, back when Lily and Marshall were on a break and she lived in that tiny crappy apartment. Brad invited Marshall to a wedding in Vermont because Brad and his girlfriend had broken up, and Marshall showed up to meet him and saw that Brad had flowers (but it turned out that Brad and his girlfriend had gotten back together). And Brad later went on a date with Robin to a hockey game, in that episode when she and Barney were first hooking up but wouldn't commit to being boyfriend and girlfriend and Lily locked them in the bedroom.
And did they switch the actor playing the boss while keeping the character the same or did Marshall switch jobs or what? The actor seemed different and, aside from also being short, he seemed like a completely different character. I don't think I missed an episode...
He's the other partner at the firm, Honeywell. Garrison Cootes (sp?) is played Martin Short so I guess they couldn't get Martin Short for this episode arc. I don't remember if he's ever appeared before this episode.
