Well, it was obvoius that Slater was a dead man walking last week. guess whomever it was in the office with Nucky who was supposed to escort Owen set him up?

Even though this hasn't been the strongest season I am interested to see how Nucky is going to get out of this. He needs to take advantage of his association wiht Chalky as opposed to being so antagonistic towards him.

Oh snap, Owen's dead and Peg is preggers. Although, I'm still not sure who Owen was lying to - Margaret or Katie. Guess it doesn't matter now.

Best line from Richard to Julia, "I want to get you." I want him to get her too! Looks like he did.

Loved Richard going after the asshole father. Hopefully he'll be one favored character who gets a happy ending.

This episode was brutal. Great episode but totally brutal. Practically every moment of it. My heart broke for Margaret when she saw Owen in the crate. What an awful final image for her to have. I honestly didn't think Owen would die this soon so I was completely shocked. So sad.

Gyp needs to be put down immediately. I don't know why his own men don't turn on him. I looked away because I knew what was going to happen.

I was on the edge of my seat during the Jess/Southern Man stand off. (I'm blanking on the character's name.) It was tense and funny at the same time. I laughed out loud when he said that he would allow him a confidence as if he had a choice.

I almost thought Richard would kill Julia's father. Crazy moment when he ripped off the mask. Interesting that he still doesn't seem to want to take it off around Julia. He took it off around Angela once or twice.

Nucky continues to be an idiot where Chalky is concerned. I really hope we get to see Chalky's idea come through because we'll get end up getting some wonderful music.

Then again when I watched the scene again, Nucky seemed stunned at Margaret's reaction to Owen's body in the crate. He was like WTF is wrong with her?

Nucky didn't set Owen up; Lucky and Bugsy tipped off Masseria so that they could get him to back up the heroin deal. You see that when Masseria tells the spa attendant that no one comes into the steam room.

I figured Margaret was going to be pregnant when she told the doctor "Nothing I haven't been through before." She better either leave or sleep with Nucky pretty quickly.

I thought Van Alden was going to be brought in by the irish gangster's guys. I guess this is the way the show is going to get him to work for Capone.

Gyp and Gillian both need to be put down like the wild dogs they are. I don't mind violence, but everything he does is unwatchable. I could even somewhat stomach the scene with Harrow nearly killing his girlfriend's dad, but Gyp and the shovel?!? We get it, the dude is seriously unhinged. The second that man said "rogue wave," I knew he was dead.

Nucky is a completely inept gangster. His big plan is to go after Masseria rather than Gyp, so that Gyp will lose his backing. And then what? The Manhattan Mafia, of which Masseria is the head, will just shrug their shoulders? Does Nucky know that Masseria's successors won't continue to back Gyp? And Nucky can't even keep his dumb-ass plan secret, sending his only enforcer to his death.

Nucky didn't kill Owen, but now he knows Margaret loved him. Owen's deception of Katie was chilling. And cruel, if he really meant to leave with Margaret. He was very convincing in his lies about her being crazy, when she was right.

Wow, what a blood letting. Gyp is just so horrible that I can't bear to watch him. The head-in-the-sand scene was unwatchable. Too violent, even for my jaded eyes. He's got to go ASAP. It's train wreck television.

Now that Owen is dead, there are hardly any characters that I even care about. As the body count rises, I just continue to lose interest in BE. Sorry, but Nucky just doesn't hold my attention. There's just no one to root for anymore. Richard Harrow and Van Alden are just about it. If they kill Harrow, I'm done.

I thought he was lying to both of them. His plan to have Margaret leave first and then he'd follow put me on edge. And didn't he insist that he could handle Masseria alone? I thought he'd disappear after/instead of killing Masseria, or he'd let Margaret hang out in St. Louis and just never show. Pressing IRA business in Canada, perhaps.

While the crate reveal was well-done, it just wasn't suspenseful after last week's episode. I knew Owen was a dead man walking after that and I really doubted Masseria would go down this early. Still, sucks to be you, Owen. I figured it was going to be Nucky or even Gyp, but it being Masseria, with an assist from Lucky/Bugsy, was a decent twist. Wish I would feel bad for Margaret, but I don't. In fact, the truly evil side wants to see Nucky and now single Katie hook-up. Margaret probably go on a warpath it that happened.

That said, Nucky is still showing himself to be incompetent and digging himself deeper in a hole. His only allies are Eli, fucking Mickey Doyle of all people, and a few other guys, who really haven't done anything important. He continues to treat Chalky like shit, even though there is a guy who probably could be a big help to him. The plan just seemed flimsy and not really well thought out. Now, his best man is dead, and he has to contend with Masseria, who knows what he did, and Gyp, who has all the man power. Add that Creepy Gillian will no doubt find ways to help fuck him over, and he kind of seems boned right now. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

I also wonder though if Rothstein might be on shaky ground. He refused to back the heroin trade and now his allies have jumped to another buyer. I love him, but I wonder if he's trying too hard to play it safe and it might bite him in the ass.

Van Alden and Capone! Now, there is a duo that is Must See TV. I can't wait to see where this goes.

Cue "Gyp is a violent motherfucker" scene. And done!

Yay, Richard! Now, please don't do something horrible to him, show. Let him remain happy and standing, while all the bastards and bad men fall.

So, apparently Richard is not only adept at sharpshooting and using weapons, but he's also competent at hand-to-hand fighting. Nucky... why is it that you haven't hired him to kill Gyp yet?

Crazy moment when [Richard] ripped off the mask. Interesting that he still doesn't seem to want to take it off around Julia. He took it off around Angela once or twice.

When I first watched the fight, I thought Julia's dad clawed the mask off of Richard's face to get him to stop, but after rewinding and watching it again, I noticed that Richard purposely ripped off his mask to force him to look at his scars. Which is way more badass.

And when the camera showed the shot of Richard and Julia sleeping under the boardwalk together his mask was off, meaning he must have purposely taken it off for her sometime during their night together.

Seriously, why the hell would he go after Masseria when Gyp has been his obvious nemesis this entire season? Killing Masseria doesn't fully get rid of his Gyp problem and it just pisses off Rothstein in the process.
