He was legally separated at the time, so it wasn't really an issue.
Oh, I think that's a big issue. First off, he's not being completely honest. Secondly, that means there's a chance he's about to lose a significant amount of money and other possessions which may affect the quality of life Jesse(or any other woman) would have with him. And finally, it means someone else in his life they'd have to deal with and interact with at least for a short period of time. And she'd continue to play an even bigger role in his life if they had kids together(which I doubt since it was never mentioned, but who knows).
So let me get this straight -- she moved down there, met his family, all's well and everyone's in love with each other for TWO DAYS and then she bails on him and vanishes from sight?! Did I piece it together correctly from previous posts?
Not exactly, a couple of very important details that Nev and Max glossed over are that Jesse had planned to drive down to North Carolina to move in with Brian. However something came up that prevented her from going down there and Brian blew up at her and IIRC Jesse was still debating if she was going to move in with him or not or even if he still wanted to. So not only had Brian shown he had some anger issues and may not be completely over his PTSD but also when Jesse drove down to North Carolina their relationship was on rocky ground. I really think Nev and Max dropped the ball on this one and pushed Jesse into a relationship that just wasn't going to happen.
