Rick struggles after another loss; Michonne is suspicious of the Governor.

"Mere words cannot adequately describe the festivities ahead."

Damn! Another fantastic episode. This show is really bringing it this season.

Penny - holy crap! Looks like the Governor had the same idea as Herschel - curing the zombies to save his daughter. But he has a mad scientist to help him.

Michonne! Great zombie slicing action! Actually her silent bad-assery is starting to grow on me.

Daryl - what a sweetheart. Kickass baby sitter.

OMG! Did that walker eat Lori?

That Zombie Thunderdome at the end was pretty disgusting. Now do you understand, Andrea?

The Governor is just very very creepy. Is Carol really dead? Who is on the phone? So many questions...

I did not see any confirmation that Carol died.

How does The Governor keep Zombie Penny so docile?

Rick's lost his marbles. The governor's daughter is a walker AND his idea of entertainment would have shocked the ancient Romans. The Dr was right when he said that words couldn't describe the upcoming entertainment.

I didn't get a good look at what Michonne was reading that had her so anxious to leave. I saw the list of names with Penny's at the bottom, but didn't understand the significance or the other book. Anyone?

I'm wondering that, too. Daryl put that Cherokee Rose on her grave. But they couldn't bury Lori if she was walker chow and they had a grave for her, too...

Did that walker eat Lori's bones too? Come on. This was about a 6/10. Michonne and Andrea and Woodbury are getting on my nerves. Even her bad ass move to get her sword back couldn't help those scenes. They were dead.

But it made the prison scenes so much darker by contrast, so how awesome is that? The governor has his brand of darkness, but Rick is in the true dark, bloody hell.

So I guess it works overall, but it still fell a little flat. I figure they had to do it though, because after last week they had to give people's hearts a rest.

At first I thought Lori made a surprisingly ugly walker, then realized the walker had eaten her. LOL.

Not sure what the big deal about the fight was. It wasn't a death match or anything.

Daryl's the greatest. It was awesome watching him take charge in the beginning, and then he was so sweet with the baby. He added a little levity to a scene that was pretty grim, with Carl listing the many, many possible dead people they could name the baby after. Didn't seem like that many until you hear all their names.

Glad to see Michonne actually get something to do, and I actually think the conflict between her and Andrea was written in a way that made sense. From what Andrea could see, Michonne really wasn't making sense and really didn't have a good reason to be suspicious. Bet Andrea regrets that decision now! The fight was the right mixture of sick and genuinely entertaining, so it wasn't so over-the-top that everyone's cheering seemes ridiculous.

Still liking scientist guy, and still finding Merle really entertaining.

Rick better calm down soon, not that his rampage wasn't cool to watch.

Glad to see Glenn at least cared about T-Dog.

Aw yes. I love tough men with babies. Though, who thought it was smart to leave a baby with Carl and Beth, I just don't know.

The Governor gets creepier and creepier. I have no idea why Andrea doesn't see it.

We got more backstory on T-Dog in one sentence then we got in the past 2 seasons.

After Penny's name, there was nothing but hash marks written in. Maybe those numerate known zombie kills, or maybe they just reflect extreme obsessive-compulsiveness. Either way, it's clear the Governor is not a stable person.

No explicit confirmation Carol died, but what other significance could that flower have? That would also explain the three graves.

Really brought the crazy -- I'm looking at you, Rich and Governor.

Why didn't the daughter offer to bite the Governor? And was he burning incense to keep down the smell?

Thought for sure Michonne was going to get shot as she walked away from the gate.

Thought for sure Maggie was going to get attacked by a zombie toddler or two in the daycare. And poor possum.

That gladiator arena crap was creepy. Bad idea.

Daryl should always be holding Little Asskicker when not killin' stuff. Possibly even make snarky comments in a baby voice. My tubes may have untied themselves just a little bit.

Indeed, Kaijin! It made total sense that he drove his church van around to help elderly people in need. I miss him. I also love Glen even more now. That whole scene was great.

So did I. Especially since Sarah Wayne Callies was still listed in the credits.

I think Rick wanted her wedding rings. I was pretty squicked out when I realized that the walker ate Lori. I mean, that is pretty shitty to find no wife to bury.

The episode had some high and low points. It seemed that governor was keeping a list of his dead family and stopped when he got to Penny. He really is a wackjob and it was nice to see Andrea finally getting it.

The daycare center just hit lots of sad notes, which it was ssupposed to do, but man, this show is effective when it focuses in, however briefly, on what has been lost, as in, all those unique handprints. Ouch.

What was Merle saying to his opponent at the end of the fight? I thought he killed the guy.

Poor Carl - he lost his mom and his dad.

I was glad that they could only use the motorcycle for the run. It would have been crazy to have Maggie, Daryl and Glenn at risk.

I was a firm believer that Carol was alive but now I'm not to sure. Unless she is injured I would have thought she'd have made it back to the group by now.

Daryl - bad ass and useful and now - good with babies. Glenn is nice, but how Maggie doesn't dump him for Daryl puzzles me.

Michonne has her katana back. Great. Finally. WIthout that, she has nothing to do but glower angrily at everything in sight.

The Governor is becoming more interesting than the one-note psycho he was seeming to be. It's interesting that despite having slaughtered those National Guardsmen without a trace of remorse, he had every motivation of anger just to order Michonne immediately killed, and didn't do it. Perhaps this is because he has feelings for Andrea and she wouldn't forgive that, but he apparently doesn't just kill for the sake of it.

Also, what about the notebook full of crazy? Is there something more to that than "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy?"

Zombie Thunderdome was pretty sick, but I'm not sure it's that immoral. Other than the zombies, it's just a prize fight, and the fighters are doing it willingly. Did anyone think that other guy stood a chance against Merle for even a second? In any event, they're zombies. My main objection to it is keeping them around at all. It's just asking for trouble.

I wonder if Rick ever comes back from whatever crazy place he's gone.

FInally, it's nice to see Daryl actually cares.

yeesh. That was pretty brutal. Rick looks completely unhinged. Props to Andrew Lincoln, he looked like he was 5 secs from either killing every one or just sitting down and sobbing. It was nice to see the group adjust and step up while Rick was going nutso.

Loved Michonne. I will admit that I was really, really disliking Andrea this season (after liking her towards the end of last season), my roommate (who has been an Andrea lover throughout most of the series) is starting to dislike Andrea after this episode, but I honestly could see and understand both Michonne's and Andrea's arguments. Obviously and clearly, Michonne is right and has been right since arriving at Woodbury, but I can't say that I blame Andrea for wanting to stay in a place with food, shelter, hot water, (and entertainment! disturbing entertainment, but entertainment)etc. after living the way they had been living before. That being said, I wish she had listened and trusted Michonne enough to go with her. I also appreciate the fact that Andrea is starting to question her decision, here's hoping it continues. (also, Michonne should have beheaded the Governor when she had the chance, but then there would be no conflict for this season, so I give them a pass)

Even though we didn't see much of it, I liked Maggie and Daryl going off to find baby supplies. Loved Maggie's "you're not putting that in my bag." after Daryl shot the possum.

Carl's sad listing the women that had died when asked about a name for the baby made me feel a pang in my heart.

I want to give a shout out to the true star of the show: Daryl's poncho.

eta: I completely forgot to comment on the opening of the episode! Yikes! For some reason, the clump of hair tearing out made me cringe more than some of the other more brutal and violent moments in the series. I like it when The Governor's mask slips, and we see a little bit of the angry, crazy person.

I am going to suggest that they all still THINK Carol is dead, we the viewer still have reason to doubt, because we saw her and T's last moments together.

What should we name the baby?
Lil' Asskicker

Hell yeah! they can call her Lassie for short

IF Carol happens to be alive, it doesn't make sense. When T-Dog was getting eaten to allow her to escape, she ran out the door. When the others found T-Dog being eaten, they went out that same door, and were immediately in view of Herschel and Beth. Why did they not see Carol when she ran out that door? And that door obviously lead out into the yard, why wouldn't carol have stayed there? As much as I like Carol these days, I think her being alive just won't make any sense.
I've re-watched that a couple of times to make sure...but if I'm wrong, someone please correct me. I want her to be alive and I want it to make sense! Lol
I'm glad the Woodbury plot is starting to get interesting. I was getting really bored, though since I read the comics, I had a general idea of what might happen.

I wonder if she is trapped somewhere. I kept hoping Rick was going to find her and it would snap him out of his psychosis.

In the clip for next week someone says something to the effect of "Isn't that Carol's knot?"

I am 99.9999% sure she is alive.

Thank you AMC for not making me see a bunch of zombie daycare kids!

The Hershel girls seem to like their men at least three years younger, just look at Beth. In Hershel terms, Daryl is way too old for Maggie.

So that's it, right? No more deaths than that.
