I really loved the concept of the challenge. Very original, something we haven't seen PR do yet.

Laura K is SOOOO feeling the "I'm Alienated and Nobody Understands Me" thing....whhaaaaaaaa....I DID love the photo she selected though. The dress was ok, but I don't like it long.

Uli's photo looked exactly like what she designs. Soft colors & floaty, flowing lines. Very pretty,

I do agree with Emilio's assessment of Cassanova. He seems very open & accepting, without an agenda or overt schemes. He still skeeves me a bit, but I do think 'Nova is a sweet guy with a lot of sincerity. LOVED his pant suit.

Ivy with a sheer overlay on her outfit?....Whaaaattt???....Funny how Laura was yawning.

Hated Emillio's dress. It looks like a shower curtain attacking an umbrella.

BAD Althea....draped crotch pants = disaster

Loved Anthony's dress, and I'm glad he won. He nailed it. But his model reminds me of Katie Holmes with bad posture.

Andrae made an unflattering Jamaican Flag on that poor woman. I'm glad they finally put him out of his misery.

Caroline Murphy wore one of the stupidest dresses I've ever seen. It looked like an insect swallowed her.

I don't know how much more I can take of Carolyn's kindergarten speech. They must have to pack stuff into the show in order to allow time for her to say all her lines.<br>I liked the concept of Emilio's dress, but I'm not sure who would wear it. I liked Anthony Ryan's but I thought it was cut too low in the back; it looked vulgar. I would have voted for Laura K. but I think Anthony Ryan won partly because he had the better story. Cancer survivor (and I'm not diminishing what he went through) had to be a good headline for USA Today.<br>

That was aggressively ugly!

I don't know why, but I liked Emilio's! I can't imagine anyone wearing it, but I liked how it billowed. And I liked Laura Kathleen's! Up is down, black is white.

Althea's pants! Good gawd. Like wearing a back pack in the front of your pants. How in the world did she think that was a good idea?

Not to be nitpicky, but in what way was this an "interactive fan challenge"? In order for something to be "interactive," doesn't the action have to go both ways? This was just fans sending in photos.

Is that little girl judge related to the actress Michelle Williams? Because she is a dead ringer. Also, watching Orange Josh get pwned by her was possibly the best part of this season so far, for me.

I get that Emilio's dress was "fashion," but I thought it made his model look pregnant and I didn't understand why he was not dinged for impracticality when Laura Kathleen was chided for the impracticality of a long gown.

I really remember Andre being a better designer than this. I actually didn't think he deserved to leave for the outfit that got him auf-ed in his original season (a cute Audrey Hepburn-esque dress made out of stuff from the flower store). Has his talent deteriorated, or do I just have an inflated sense of how good the early season designers were? Wendy, similarly, I never thought of as a fantastic designer, but I wouldn't peg her as someone who'd send that weird leather pant chain monstrosity down the runway. Ah well.

And, Laura Kathleen, when Orange Josh has to give you a lecture on how to approach people more kindly, it's time to take a seat.

"I would look like a Chinese lantern in that"....says the woman wearing shoulder eyebrows.

I liked Laura Kathleen's the best, though I am beginning to hate Laura more than Ivy. I didn't know it was possible to hate someone more than Ivy.

I loved AR's dress, though it looked like his model kept slouching to one side, so the lines looked crooked. For some reason, I wish the cutout in the back had ended in a V shape instead of a square.

Orange Josh's dress was The. Worst. Thing. Ever. It looked like someone attending a cocktail party on a yacht suddenly had to evacuate and threw on a life vest.

I thought Andrae was going to attach that yarn braid thing to the front of the dress like a halter and thought it would be interesting. And then it came out on the catwalk and it was just a scarfy afterthought and the the dress turned out to be a poorly made tennis dress. The model looked like she should have been wearing tennis shoes and a visor.

Was Kayne was wearing a shirt homage to Suede's dotty graffiti dress?

That was some serious HRGeiger shit that CarolynBot was wearing. Woof.

I liked the shape & feel of Emilio's dress, but honestly, where can you wear that without looking like a mental patient?

AntRyans dress was great. But I've had it up to here --- with exposed zippers & bandage dresses. Thank you.

Andrae became too annoying and had to auf weiderschein.
I hope they made him take that hideous outfit with.

I LOVED Uli's dress. Wish she had done it in a blush pink.

The 16-year old blogger judge was more articulate than 98% of the celebrities to appear on PR.

I was hoping Casanova would get the win -- those pants were amazing, and I normally do not like wide-legged things. Plus, he's my favorite. If people as bitter and pissy as Emilio and Ivy like him, then he must truly be sweet.

So glad Anthony Ryan won over Laura. She's horrible. Whining that people don't like her because she grew up rich? Oh just fuck off. I've had enough of her poorly drawn eyebrows and nasally complaints anyway.

Orange Josh's dress was The. Worst. Thing. Ever. It looked like someone attending a cocktail party on a yacht suddenly had to evacuate and threw on a life vest.

It really was ugly. I had my fingers crossed that Josh would be the one to go but knew they wouldn't save Andre again. Oh well. Andre seems like a fun guy and I wish him the best.

Laura Kathleen's lack of self awareness at her age is astounding. Also, was she Laura KATHLEEN during her season? I don't remember that. And relatedly, does Josh look different? He face seems much rounder this time. I'm always taken aback during his first talking head each week.

I don't mind Josh as much as others, so I was happy he stayed. I don't think Andre is acting, but I found him a bit over the top and annoying, so I was glad to see him go. Loved Casanova's look, but was OK with AR winning.

I also wasn't nearly as annoyed by the teen blogger as I thought I would be when she was introduced. I first heard about her two or three years ago and didn't really under the fuss over her, but whatever.

The 16 year old is Tavi from the blog stylerookie. She made a big splash in the fashion world by wearing a ginourmous "skinny bow" when she was front row at ( I think) Marc Jacobs. Go figure. But yeah, she has been blogging her teenages heart out about fashion for over 3 years and actually has something to say.

LK is truly unsupportable, you can't get the entitled bitch edit if you don't say those things girl! She is the Mitt R of PR.

I don't think Emilio is or has been acting pissy. He seems a little on the shy side, but I don't see him being mean to others. Don't think I can stand much more of Laura Kathleen and her "Don't hate me because I'm rich". I loved Emilio's dress and wonder why the challenge had to be wearable at all. It should have been inspired by the photo and using the designer's imagination. Not all fashion has to be immediately wearable.

I actually didn't like Anthony Ryan's dress, it seemed a little literal to the picture and I thought the back straps were wonky. Also don't think most women could wear this dress (if that was a big factor). Don't want to think his cancer story was a factor in his win, but I'm afraid it was. Joshua should have gone for that horrid mess.

Weird challenge...

Really surprised Anthony won; maybe it was for his story. Also, I guess it will photograph well.

As far as the designs go, for me;

Emilio:I am not a fan of poufy skirts or short in front, and this had both. But I am sure it was well made. But who would wear it and where?

Althea:Ugh, I just hate those drapey front pants and the color was not good.

Uli:Pretty dress, not very photogenic.Safe for me too.

Laura Kathleen: It was okay. It is hard for me like anything she does. I even hate that they liked it. Good point, though, that without the dye job, it was pretty boring. So glad she did not win, though. She looked so fake about pretending to be happy for AR.

Joshua:It was pretty enough. Had an Asian vibe for me. A plain skirt would be better.

Cassanova: It was okay, and toned down for him.

Anthony R: I am not a fan of those straps in the back either-guess I just don't like trends very much. The neckline looked a little choked to me, too high. And can't wear a bra.

Kayne: At least he was safe.

Ivy:It was okay, not crazy about the top.

Andre: I don't like those string things...is that a trend? He is one strange bird. It was his time. Bye, Andre.

OMG I hate Laura Kathleen and hate to be invested enough to even bother. Even,or especially, her voice. But her personality is just as grating.

Those designer announcements are truly annoying...I wonder if they draw straws to get to do it, or to have to do it.

Althea adds nothing to this show for me; not in design and not in personality.
Carolyn(is that her name, the host?) is a little less stiff and ridiculous-sounding now that she has done it a few weeks. But she needs a new stylist.I am not sure it is a compliment if she says she would wear your design.

Don't want to think his cancer story was a factor in his win, but I'm afraid it was.

I'm absolutely certain it was. I thought his dress was good, but a bit boring - and as the judges pointed out, didn't it employ the exact same colors that he used last week for the "aerosol art" challenge?

I loved Emilio's dress and wonder why the challenge had to be wearable at all. It should have been inspired by the photo and using the designer's imagination. Not all fashion has to be immediately wearable.

I wondered about that too - during the workroom sequences I was surprised that the designers weren't going for abstract and avant-garde looks.

I don't think Emilio is or has been acting pissy. He seems a little on the shy side, but I don't see him being mean to others.

Emilio got flak during season 7 for allegedly being mean to the other designers, but he never was then, either. I think he is a bit shy, so he comes off as aloof, and that coupled with his confidence in his own work makes him come off as arrogant sometimes. But he's never said anything nasty about anyone on the show, and doesn't seem inclined to indulge in gossip or drama. He's still my favorite designer who's ever been on PR. I think I would have given him the win this week simply on the adventurousness of his design, although frankly I don't think any of the designers went as far as they could have with this challenge - but then again, the only had A DAY (jeez!). I'm glad to see Andrae go, but I thought Althea's and Josh's both stank up the runway, and I'm tired of Kayne sending out something tacky EVERY SINGLE WEEK. I was shocked he was safe - as far as I could see his dress had nothing whatsoever to do with his photograph.

Either way my first thought was, you're getting the bitch edit because you're a bitch. Her dress had potential, but the dye job made it look like a dirty rag.

I'll miss Andrae. Maybe he was over the top and was putting on an act, but he was entertaining and his playing up to the camera was harmless.

Carolyn Murphy’s first dress looked like a cheap ice skating dress & her second looked like there were giant ant eyes on the front

Althea’s pants were horrible

Joshua’s looked like he was designing for female toy soldiers

Liked Ivy’s, Laura’s, & the front of Anthony Ryan’s dress (but not the back). Emilio = NO

Did the 16 years old blogger wear saddle shoes to show how young she is?

There's an old man in my neighborhood who walks his dog at odd hours of the day and night and he always wears a reflective safety vest. He came to my mind immediately when I saw Josh's look. The sad thing is, that wasn't even the ugliest garment. That goes to Althea with the beyond-insane-crotch highwater pants made in fabric that is the color of dirt. She took fug to a whole new level.

Maybe it's just me, but I would resent being judged by a 16 year old blogger.

Emilio wasn't very good at taking criticism that season, and he and Tim did not get along. He seems to be much more responsive to Joanna Coles. That said, my objection to his design wasn't the big poufy skirt on it being impracticle, it was the upper part of the tank dress with the white outlining, which looked kind of sloppy to me. But I though he kind of got robbed here--he was attracted to the picture by the freshness and innocence of the girl and ran with the idea and not a literal interpretation. Was it wearable? No, but a lot of avante garde stuff isn't. Also, I'm a little tired of hearing judges like Carolyn and Heidi say "I wouldn't wear that" or "That would look terrible on me"--that is NOT a valid criticism of a design unless the challenge specfically states that they are to design a dress for Carolyn.

I adore Anthony Ryan, but there wasn't anything innovative about that dress, it used identical colors to last week, and he needs to step it up--he's starting to look like a one trick pony to me.

I wish LK would just go whine her way home and eat some worms. I have never liked her, and she's not changing my mind about that here.

Is it just me or is Casanova not getting the recognition he should be these last couple of weeks? I really liked his dress last week and I thought his design this week should have been in contention for the win.

Nope, not just you. Those pants he made were gorgeous, and I thought he would win this one. I guess the muted colors just weren't "editorial" enough for a magazine. Or else the judges are just crazy. I also really liked Uli's dress, but it, again, was maybe too muted.

It really did look as if the model had been washing dishes in it.

I can't imagine what her background actually is - I assume her parents have money? - but her personal aesthetic, at least where hair and make up are concerned, is mall manicurist.

ITA. There seemed to be a direct contradiction between the initial directive of "use the photo as an inspiration for something for the runway," and the USA Today guest telling the designers to design for "everyone." Runway designs are not supposed to be for everyone. I liked Emilio's too and I agree that no one would ever actually wear it. I'd rather have a runway full of fun and unique clothes than what "everybody" wears.

AR's was way too tight. And "interactive" does not just mean one party sends in photos and the other looks at them.

When I first saw Caroline in her runway dress, I thought she was mutating, like that blond in Species.

And, Laura Kathleen, when Orange Josh has to give you a lecture on how to approach people more kindly, it's time to take a seat.

Winning post of the day! Because I mean - yes. It seems all the season's villains have apparently reformed themselves so far (Josh, Wendy, Ivy), so I'm cautiously taking a lukewarm liking to Orange Josh. But he was absolutely right - LK needs to dial it back a few notches and think about the things she says to people. And that big exaggerated yawn at Ivy's garment, with Ivy sitting right next to her. Even I gawped at that - unless it was staged (which I wouldn't put past these producers), that was seriously rude and tacky.

I didn't mind the win (because AR's was a lovely dress, and I didn't want LK to win), nor did I mind the auf. I love my weird little Andrae, but you can't be spanked by the judges that many times and expect to stay. And again, since I'm slowly warming up to Orange Josh in small increments, I think he deserved a second chance. Although his garment was atrocious, it was his first time in the bottom, and I do think he'll probably do better in upcoming challenges. I mean, we all know this show isn't really about "one day you're in, the next you're out" - quite the opposite, really. It's about the whole body of work, and so far this season, Josh has been stronger than Andrae, so I'm okay with the auf.

Yes, Laura Kathleen was Laura Kathleen in her season too. And if I remember correctly she is from Ladue, Missouri which is a St. Louis suburb. I used to live in St. Louis and yes Ladue was wealthy but it certainly wasn't anything like old society money. She has an unpleasant entitled air about her. You can be rich and gracious but evidently Laura Kathleen doesn't know how to be gracious. In the challenge I liked her print but not her design.

I liked Emilio's design the best and I don't think wearable used to be any judging criteria for Project Runway. I don't find him arrogant but think he got the arrogant edit in his season. I always thought he was self conscious in front of the cameras and stiff. I liked his poufy skirt with the bright yellow lining.

I didn't think Anthony Ryan's dress was anything special and even the judges said he had done it before.

I thought Casanova should have been in the top and wanted to see a close up of his.

I agree with the poster who said that being judged by a 16 year old would be upsetting. And she's been blogging for years? Really? Since she was 12? Or 14? What is her background? I didn't think her personal style was much at all and her shoes were ugly.

Yeah, I never saw that in him, either in S7 or this one. I think "aloof" is a good word to describe him, but that doesn't translate to "arrogant" or rude in my book. It was clear he and Tim didn't get along, but I do agree he seems to be more receptive to Joanna Coles. Y'know, sometimes it's just like that with people. And since Casanova is one of my favorites, I really loved and agreed with what Emilio said about him being sweet and having no agenda. I thought Casanova's look should have been in the top as well.
