At least tonight was only one hour, finally. Though it still felt about 30 minutes too long, imo. And apparently the show decided to steal the dance list from SYTYCD and give it to their stars, how revolutionary.

But I wanted to see Helio dance in the style of Broadway!

The plus side of the results - Sabrina was in the bottom 2. The crappy part (besides Helio leaving) - Bristol was not in the bottom 2.

And whaaaat? Were they so flustered that they couldn't take strategy into account when doling out the dances for next week?

Giving Apolo and Karina hip-hop? That was his entire freestyle with Julianne and he did it well. And didn't Karina have a hip hop themed freestyle ... with Mario maybe?

Gilles and Bollywood ... that's gonna be interesting.

And Kirstie and the Charleston? Yeah ... good luck with that, Maks.

I really don't like that they show decided to become SYTYCD next week. I already get really bad ballroom in SYTYCD. I don't want to get really bad hip hop in DwTS!

And Kirstie and Bristol are still in this. Very annoying to me.

Gilles doing Bollywood, Kirstie doing the Charleston, and Emmitt doing the bolero…I’m oddly looking forward to these routines.

But I’m horribly disappointed that Bristol once again avoided the bottom 2 (in fact, bottom 3 this week). I just can’t bear to watch her knock out much better dancers with much better attitudes – Joey, Drew, Helio (none of whom I even liked that much), etc. Who’s next? My favorites (Melissa or Kelly)? Sabrina? Gilles? This is clearly going to play out as a Season 11 repeat, so I’m probably going to skip the live episodes from now on. A single exploitative casting decision (Bristol over Kristi or Mya?) is draining the fun out of this show for me.

Sabrina and Helio in the bottom 2 together was a tense moment. Personally, I’m glad Sabrina survived. She got her redemption over her season’s champion. Now she can go (and she inevitably will, given the strength of Kirstie’s and Bristol’s fan bases).

Man, I'm bummed with the results. Surprisingly, not so much about Drew and Anna; I'll miss Anna, but I was pretty much resigned to those two leaving. But not Helio! (Even though he was in the bottom two last week.) I loved him so much more this season than in his original one. I think that his elimination was karma for wimping out and giving Shawn and Derek the mambo, lol. Still, I'm so annoyed that we had to lose him in favor of Kirstie and Maks or Bristol and Mark.

And I had a bad feeling that Shawn and Derek would get the encore for their non-quickstep. The judges really need to stop rewarding the Golden Boy for this shit. Whatever will the judges do with themselves next season, when Derek is no longer there and they need to find someone else's ass to constantly kiss?

It was so cruel of the show to tease me with a Kyle reappearance. *sniff*

Louis came across as so petty and bitter in a hilarious way when he was trying to convince Sabrina to go for the harder dance assignment.

Not happy, but not surprised. But you know, TPTB are getting the results they wanted- for the most polarizing contestant to keep on keepin' on, and... Kirstie to last a few weeks longer. I knew that this would devolve into a mere popularity contest- just didn't realize how unhappy it would be.

Some of the dance assignments seem to be total no-brainers but some seem to be designed to be verrry interesting. I'll just be a little peeved if Giles turns out to be a closeted Bollywood dancer, lol.

Well I think I'll just watch the results show from now on. I really liked Helio and wanted him to continue on. Why did they even bother to assign a dance for next week to a couple who was going home tonight? I was excited when they assigned him Broadway, he would've killed it.

Oh, and I hate Bristol, wonder what sort of drama she'll come up with next week to gain sympathy.

I can not believe that Kirstie survived another week while Helio and Drew leave. Helio was fun to watch, Kirstie is not.

I am so glad for Bristol and Mark though. I think their Rock and Roll dance will be great!

I had my fingers crossed for Sabrina to go, but sadly she lives to stomp another week.

I couldn't stand Helio his first go round on the show, but he won me over and I'll miss him! There really was such a joy to his dancing that made him fun to watch; his relationship with Chelsie was great, too.

And BOO! to "B" and Spatz (mostly "B") still being in this.

Wouldn't it actually be the bottom 4? (Drew/Kirstie and Helio/Sabrina)

I wish the judges would give her the scores she deserves and set her apart from the rest.

Okay, Drew I expected. But I'm really really sad that we won't get to see Helio's smiling face and joyful dancing anymore. Derek and Shawn were nice enough to give them Broadway for next week too, which I'm sure would've been a charming dance. Instead, we are going to be treated to more of sourpuss Bristol. I have a feeling the double elimination tonight was intended to get rid of the bad dancers (ahem, Bristol and Kirstie), and instead, we had to say goodbye to two decent dancers and former champions

I thought it was really sweet of Drew to lift up Helio at the end as if they had won. :)

ABC knew what they were doing when they signed Bristol up the first time and this time. Better dancers go home and they get the press out of her staying.

Sorry, I'm just not going to trash Bristol when this is all ABC's doing right down to the clip package to garner the sympathy and/or the FU/HA HA votes.

I thought this season would be stupid from the outset and they are doing nothing to change my mind.

If the rock & roll genre Bristol was left with is the dance I think it's supposed to be (think cheerleading x lindy hop), then Bristol might literally die from this. I didn't want that. I just wanted her gone from the competition. :( I'm already calling it add the worst dance of the night.

And now I'm pissed because Melissa would have been perfect for it. Just perfect. Well, watch and see.

And Val is playing to win! Hitting Emmitt right in the gut with the bolero pick. Cheryl screwed him over just as hard by giving him contemporary.

I’m not even going to bother getting annoyed that Bristol is still there. It is what it is. People are voting for her. I have a horrible feeling she is on the road to at least week 7/8.

Disappointed to see Helio go, what a nice guy. He deserved another couple of weeks.

Not surprised or sorry at all to see Drew go. Whining about getting 3 eights last night? I thought that was more than fair. I wonder if secretly he regrets coming back again, I’ll bet this has tarnished his first go around a little bit. At least Helio always looked like he was enjoying it.

I thought it was frosty between Mark and Bristol after their dance last night but they seemed fine together in their confessional. The way things are going it looks like they’re going to be around for the foreseeable future, so I suppose they may as well get along.

Was Sabrina in the real bottom 3?

Poor Drew. He was screwed from the beginning. Going to miss Helio, too. Really wanted to see him do Broadway. I think he would've been good at that.

Bristol and Kirstie are going to be there at the end and ruin their plans for a Gilles, Sabrina, and Melissa final.

Wow. What a difference 5 years makes. Back then I would have been happy to be rid of Helio (and Julianne!) and welcomed Sabrina's escape from the red light. And while I don't want Sabrina to leave just yet (she was a bit of a sad sack with her pleas to whomever on the phone to vote for her, and her "let's make friends!" mantra to Louis concerning the dance assignments, etc) just on partner chemistry and feel good vibes I would have kept Helio.

THIS. And Len even name dropped Kelly and Apolo as those who kept to the rules. I just give up with the constant genuflecting to the Blessed Blond One.

I think Tristan will be the new Derek next season, honestly. And then soon the only mistreatment he'll receive from TPTB is a rash from all the ass kissing that Derek will no longer be around to endure.

So were they saying that this was the real bottom 2 out of the ones left? Or overall (not counting Drew of course)? And they didn't say that for Kirstie, correct? Kept just saying "in jeopardy."

The way they presented that was really confusing. Probably intentionally so.

Anyway, the only one who really showed me something as far as fanbase is concerned is Gilles. I was wondering about him. Will be interesting to see if it's large, or if the others are weak. I think it's more the latter, but I don't think it will be tested much as the judges will be giving him higher scores, I think.

Interesting that Sabrina is pulling in more votes than Helio or Drew (though she had a slight edge on Drew in points).

Giving Apolo and Karina hip-hop? That was his entire freestyle with Julianne and he did it well. And didn't Karina have a hip hop themed freestyle ... with Mario maybe?

The BrookeBot is actually alive! She even was like "did they even think about this?!" I LOL'd.

Yeah, they all got flustered. Giving Kelly & Val Contemporary? That's good. They can show chemistry.

Kirstie & Maks clearly have no idea what Rock & Roll is. They were bummed because they didn't get it. Sabrina did them much more of a favor by giving them a Charleston. It was sweet when she was like "nooooo" when Louis said if you want to make it difficult for them, then that would be Rock & Roll.

It was actually really fun watching them pick this stuff.

Emmitt should have been given Contemporary. They really should have at least been given an explanation of the dance styles beforehand. Kelly was like "I don't even know what Bolero is."

Whoever gave Melissa Lindy Hop...their reactions were like "that was one of our highest scoring dances, duh."

Sucks for Bristol that she just missed out on Charleston. That's a better fit than Rock & Roll, especially since Mark already choreographed a really good Charleston for Melissa.

I guess they can do a cute 50s type of thing, though.

Drew was soooo happy that another former winner went out, lol.

I can't tell if Kirstie was genuinely in the bottom, since I only heard them refer to her as "in jeopardy". All I remember is that Drew was at the very bottom, then Helio, and then Sabrina was in the real bottom with Helio. If Kirstie actually received less votes than Bristol, then I'm even more annoyed by this (since at least Kirstie tries to bring joy and humor to everything she does).

Surprise of the season: Female celebrities outnumber the male celebrities 2 to 1 with 9 couples left. Never would have predicted that preseason.

Sad to see Drew go home, but not surprised in the least. He wasn't great last night and his charm wasn't coming through this year. Probably a good example of a celebrity who couldn't live up to expectations.

Helio is also not a surprise, but I'm not sad at all. I'll always hold a grudge over his season 5 win over Mel B.

I really, really hate the unique dance styles twist. The choices were too rushed. Also, if the strategy was supposed to be 'pick a style you don't want for yourself', well that couldn't apply to half the couples who selected a style after they knew their own. Did the producers think this through at all?

Gilles and Emmett have tough assignments. It doesn't matter what style Bristol has. She's staying unless the judges find those 5 paddles (or lower).

Really though, how do you compare Bollywood and Hip Hop? Bolero and Disco? There's just no comparison. I understand SYTYCD does this sort of thing, but they don't have to assign numbers. The judges will be more useless than ever.

Wow, Kirstie must be really popular. I thought her dance was easily the worst of last night, even worst than Bristol's, and that's saying something. I can see why some people would like her though. She is one of the few this season who actually seems to get it's just a silly dance show. Speaking of which, I hated how Helio beat out Mel their season, but I'll really miss him this season. Such a joyful, easy-going person to watch.

Bristol is going to last until the finals, just like last time. The only way I can see her leaving anytime soon is producer manipulation at this point, IE a dance-off where the judges pick who stays and who goes.

Sabrina grates on my nerves. Her dancing is so one-dimensional and she just seems desperate to gain approval. And, most annoying of all, she made me agree with Carrie Ann that she brought nothing new to M&M's Paso! I was hoping she and Louis would be a shock boot tonight but no luck.

I'm very curious to see what Kelly and Val do with Contemporary. IMO, it's the most challenging of the styles on the board as it's the hardest to fake and has the most potential to fall flat with the audience - an audience not used to contemporary. But they have their terrific chemistry going for them so hopefully they can build on that!

DAFUQ did just happen?

I mean, really? Not even in jeopardy?

I'm confused though. When they were choosing stuff for each other B&M were the bottom pair. There were only 3 dances, and they are NOT even in the bottom THREE this week? They apparently (or by script) weren't in the bottom 2 last week.
I know it's cumulative, but my mind can't grasp it.

It was kinda endearing seeing Louis "thisclose" to tears when they were announced in the bottom two nad that heartbeat music was playing.
I call BULL$#!T on that by the way. They were what, second best pair according to cumulative scores? Bottom 2-3 tonight? BULL!!! $#!T!!!!

I'm glad that Sabrina made it through. I know people gave her a hard time, but she's worked her butt off week in and out. I'm disappointed to see Helio leave before Bristol and Kristie. I knew that Drew was going to leave. Next week should be very interesting. Apolo, Sabrina, Shawn, Melissa & Kelly will definitely be the standouts next week. Gilles will be interesting with Bollywood. Emmitt, Kristie and of course Bristol will round out the bottom of the pack. Interesting to see the lack of the slower ballroom dances like the Rumba, Waltz and Viennese Waltz.
