Howdy! As y'all know, this ain't the Nashville cast's first time at the acting rodeo. For example, who can forget Connie Britton in Friday Night Lights or American Horror Story, or Hayden Panatierre (sp?) in Heroes? And how about the one and only Powers Boothe in Deadwood or as the late, anything-but-great cult leader Jim Jones?

If you want to comiserate about the Nashville cast, lead or supporting, in their other acting roles, then mosey on over here.

She's the reason why I'm watching this show, and her performances on Friday Night Lights was the reason why I watched American Horror Story.

And don't forget Eric Close who was on Without A Trace for seven seasons and a bunch of other series such as The Magnificent Seven, Now and Again and Dark Skies among others. I think he's the main reason I'm tuning in.

I'm also here for Robert Wisdom, who has been in a ton of television; the ones I know him best for are Lechero on Prison Break, Vaughn on Burn Notice, and, my favorite, Buddy Colvin on The Wire.

I know Hayden Panettiere is best known for Heroes, but I always remember seeing her first as Will Patton's daughter in Remember the Titans.

Oh, and I totally did not know Chip Esten from Whose Line is it Anyway is now acting and going by Charles Esten now. You learn something new every day.

Watching the pilot tonight, I took one look at the woman playing Connie Britton's sister and was all, Hey it's April O'Neil from the first Ninja Turtles movie!

Three of the actors got their early breaks in soaps. Eric Close was on Santa Barbara way back in the early 90s. I thought he was pretty much just a pretty boy back then but became a fan of his during Now and Again. I also liked him on Without a Trace so I'm predisposed to liking his character.

Both Hayden Panettiere and Jonathan Jackson got their start as soap kids in the mid-90s. JJ as Luke and Laura's son on General Hospital (I think he was like 11) and Hayden as Sarah Roberts on One Life to Live when she was about five and Lizzie Spaulding on Guiding Light until she was about 10.

Oh, and I totally did not know Chip Esten from Whose Line is it Anyway is now acting and going by Charles Esten now. You learn something new every day.

I remember when I first realized he was acting in more dramatic parts. He guest starred as a slain D.J. on a Cold Case episode. It took me forever to figure out why he looked familiar. Looking at his IMDB page, he actually acts a lot. But I'll always remember him as the cute guy from Whose Line even if my personal crush was Ryan Stiles.

So glad someone posted on the old thread that the daughters are Lennon & Maisy Stella from the "Call your Girlfriend" viral video. I knew I recognized them from somewhere!

Hayden was also Ali McBeal's daughter via an egg donation.

Jonathan Jackson is what is bringing me to this show. I love his music with Enation and loved him in Tuck Everlasting.
An added bonus is that he looks like my son.

He has quite a list of acting credits. He's still touring with the live version of Whose Line along with Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, and Jeff Davis (though he's recently missed a couple of dates due to Nashville taping conflicts). The shows are awesome, and the guys generally meet and greet afterwards. Chip is always an absolute sweetheart with his fans and will sign autographs, take pics and give hugs ;) I'm torn between wanting Nashville to send him to the stardom he deserves and worried that he'd have to give up the Whose Line tour if it does!

I'm happy to see that Jonathan Jackson is finally getting the kind of well-written role he deserves, after watching the character assassination of Lucky Spencer on General Hospital!

If anyone loves a good, spooky movie, check out "Frailty" with Powers Boothe. It also stars Bill Paxton and Matthew McConaghey and is super creepy.

According to IMDB, Sam Palladio (Gunnar Scott) apparently appeared in two episodes (1.05 & 1.06) of the fabulous BBC production The Hour as "Rockabilly." I need to go back and watch those episodes!

(Also, this means that Sam is just one degree of separation between McNulty & Bunny Colvin of The Wire. That's pretty cool!)

Chloe Bennett, the actress who played Hailey, has got another gig as a regular on Joss Whedon's S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm quite happy for her, because I thought she actually did a good job with what was a kind of thankless role, to be honest.

It had been driving me crazy where I had seen Charles Esten, but IMDB helped me remember that he was Josh the manager of the Stamford Branch in The Office. He was also Richard's gay brother in The New Adventures of Old Christine.

In the wee hours of the morning, I just caught a very young Charles Esten as Lonnie Tot on a Married with Children rerun. Lonnie was engaged to Kelly.

Yeah I remember that it was the final episode. Of course, they didn't know it at the time.

Ming-Na who appeared in this last episode as a woman wooing Rayna to a new label is also cast in S.H.I.E.L.D. I forgot Hailey was as well.

Speaking of Ming-Na she played Chun-Li in Street Fighter and played Charlie Sheen's love interest for a few episodes on Two and A Half Men.

Aha! It was driving me nuts, too. I knew I knew him from somewhere--but I was pretty sure I never saw the seasons of Whose Line that he was in. Now it all makes sense to me.

Got to give him acting kudos--for the first couple of episodes I was haunted by that 'where have I seen him before' thing, but now he is really just Deacon to me.

I fast forward his scenes. I'm worried he's going to start crying.
