Also, that first task was completely useless. It required zero effort, condensed everyone down to probably no more than 20 minutes apart (rendering all the airport shenanigans pointless), and didn’t shuffle the order one bit.
In contrast, the roadblock was excellent, with all kinds of shuffling based on keeping cool and remaining calm. Plus, it had possibly the most adorable waif clue-giver ever to grace the world of TAR.
I was hoping the twins wouldn’t get the EP over Trey/Lexi. They weren’t quite as screechy this time (at least not in the same way as the badgery one was last time), but I’m not sure my eardrums can take a whole season of them.

Twinnies won me over this week. Still annoying, but now with a lot more exuberance and charm.

It's a shame that Amy and Daniel are out. I would've preferred it be the monster truck drivers.
Maybe I missed something, but what was so challenging about the bull racing task?
Gary and Will were super lucky. Who knew that making balloon animals was so hard?
I looked away for a moment, how did Amy and Daniel get so far behind?

I was freaking out with the one guy who couldn't get the balloons. I suck at even tying balloons off so I would have been right there with him.
The monster truck guy was berating people way too much for my liking.

Random comments and observation:
1. The karapan sapi was very cool. Of course it would be much more exciting were they really racing.
2. The odong-odong ride was sooo funny. Imagine those rides moving on the street.
3. When did they move back from Bangkalan to Surabaya? I must have missed it.
4. The clue was very mean. Just Wijaya Motor without any further description? Surabaya is a big city, one needs to know that place to be able to give direction for such a small dealership.
5. Pasar Pabean Market? Pasar is Market. So it is Pabean Market Market?
6. Hey, broken ice should not count!
7. Why did one of the Sri Lankans keep on wearing her warm long sleeve? Surabaya is so hot and so humid.
8. Of course, Surabaya Oh Surabaya as closing song is the cherry on top.
9. So Ponorogo next week? Can not wait!

The first task of the episode (which I originally thought was the RB), was one of the lamest tasks they've ever done (sit on the back of a moped for 30 seconds). When I realized it wasn't an RB but just a placeholder task, I was ok with it. I did enjoy the real RB, as I love tasks that interact with locals like that, and the kids were adorable.
At this point, I like both of the female teams, don't mind the chippendales or the 2 dating teams. The other guy teams (the beekmans and Long Hair dont care) don't really have enough screen-time yet to get an opinion of. Monster truck and his wife are not long for this race if they continue to make woeful decisions. The fact that they didn't even check the arrival times of their flight vs. the flight that EVERYONE else was on is ridiculous. Sometimes its good to go off by yourself, but not very much so on flights, unless you're 100% confident.
Solid episode though, glad the show is back and running.

Just once when a team just in a cab and starts screaming "Fast Fast Fast" I'd like for the cabbie tell them to get their Crap out of their cab and hoof it. I get sick of the ugly American obnoxious behavior.

The twins actually crossed over from being obnoxious to being endearing this week, for me, so I was pleased to see them win the Express Pass. I pretty much enjoyed everyone this week, and it was cool to see so much shifting. It still seems like many of these teams have a legitimate chance of winning, which I appreciate.
The Roadblock was frustrating just to watch; I can't imagine having to actually do it. I'm pretty sure I would have been stuck there until Phil had to come eliminate me.

So yeah, I wasn't a huge fan of that.
I can understand having issues during stress. I can understand not seeing a clue. I can see having trouble during a detour/rode block. But how can you buy a plane ticket that ARRIVES hours later? You can at least look and see if there are better options once you have your ticket.
And at the end, you took the wrong taxi. You lose. Sorry.
Kinda upset that Gary and Will (Substitute Teachers) won, after they decided to pretty much quit and lazily walk on down to the pit stop.

Seems like most of the challenges are designed to keep everyone in the same order they start out in. I love me some Beekman Boys..but since they seem to be the only team the show refuses to give any air time to, I'm done. I don't understand why this show keeps winning so many emmy's..

Wow...as a whole those taxi drivers to the Wijaya Motors site were some of the worst we've ever seen on this race.
Didn't want to see them eliminated...better the monster truckers or substitute teachers.

On the bright side, Natalie & Nadiya (like the gymnast with a "Y"; holy crap, Firefox doesn't think it's misspelled) got first place and the Express Pass. They seem so much fun, and they weren't shy in trying to maul Phil. And they were smart enough to not try that with the Greeter. Freaky, freaky nails, y'all.
Not much else to add. I can see how the bags with wheels with Rob & Kelley can bug, and I can see how they can bug . . . but at least they tried to run their race, even though getting their own flight backfired.
ETA: Anybody else thinking about burst erection jokes when the guys on the Roadblock kept screwing up on the balloons?

I find myself really liking the twins, so I'm glad they got the express pass. They have a good time and seem pretty no-nonsense about getting things done, shrieking aside.
The subsitutes kind of lost me the way they were acting so defeated. Yeah, they thought they were out, but it was particularly joyless to watch the big one grumble through the market like that. Hope they perk up after this.
That bull riding was crazy. Imagine the injuries if they'd actually had the racers do it.

Just when I thought watching the twin with the long hair in the fish barrel was scary do I see that guy's long, freaky nails!

I have to echo how completely lame that first task was. I mean, you didn't even have to beat the bulls? So stupid.

Yeah, how'd you like to have some of the fish she was pulling out of the barrel after you saw that? I could not figure out why she didn't either tip the barrel or tie her hair back. YUCK.

The Sri Lanka girls talked a big game but damn, they backed it up! I think they might be my team now. I was impressed that they couldn't care less about their hair in the fish water because it would have been hard for me to not worry about my hair - I would have dug in but tried to hold me hair back.

Wijaya Motor, pffft. There could be dozens of that.
I'm so glad they didn't choose the oh-so-familiar places for these two legs in Indonesia, that would be no fun. This way I hope people will see the different side(s) of Indonesia. Not that they all "warm and bright", but that's the point :)
So sad about Amy & Daniel, didn't realize how much I was rooting for them until they're gone, but oh well.

Somewhere in Oklahoma, Jet & Cord are salivating at the thought of riding those bulls.
Is this the first time a set of female twins have won a leg? I know Kami & Karli never got withing smelling distance of that in TAR5.

So, my lucky streak has ended, it seems. My favourite team right off the bat is eliminated. And I was so hoping my streak would continue and they would have lasted to the end. I loved their attitude but I'm so glad that it was taxi luck and not the racer's fault, that got them eliminated. But damn, I am actually really disappointed to see them go.
I emphasized with Gary (?) because I would have been panicking during that balloon task. I have poor fine motor skills so tying that balloon would have taken me a while to figure out and I would have been shaking like that too.
Now I gotta find a new favourite team, which will be difficult, especially after getting over my loss of Team Amputee, but I'll try. Team Rocklawyer was really great. I literally fell in love with them at the beginning and think they have great spirit, so they're on the top of my list, followed by Team Texas. Trey and Lexi were also great (and I find Trey now the hottest guy on the show). I really, really loved Lexi's enthusiasm. Like, a lot. I also liked Team Twins more than last week. The end, with them hugging Phil, was actually really great. I don't know if they're my favourites, but they're off my shit list.
Uh, Team Monster Truck? Kind of wish you got eliminated instead. I didn't really like how they thought taking a detour to Hong Kong, whilst being the only team to do so, was a genius idea. Sure, it made you 'different', but once you hear four hour layover, that's the time to say 'hell no' and find another flight. And their attitude toward their taxi driver was rude too. So, yeah, don't care. I didn't mind Team Chippendale. I liked how they said 'congrats' to Trey and Lexi when they finished the Party Detour.
Depressing episode all-in-all.

I feel like there should have been a rule against breaking the ice blocks. They should have had to go back and replace the ones broken. Then again it seems the fish task was quicker. Surprised only the twins chose it. They deserved their win and their express pass.
Can't stand Monster Truck guy. Such an ass. Yelling at everyone. I thought they'd be gone for sure after we heard back story about how they met.

I agree that the contestants should have been driving the bulls, as I don't think they would have been so aggressive with them.
I would much have preferred that because it would have required the racers to do something. I think any task where the contestants do nothing more than spectate or serve as passengers is lame and pointless. It's lazy task-creation on the part of TPTB.
it really bites that Amy and Daniel were eliminated, as I thought they'd be in the top 4.
Still seething about Indonesia Sterling. They pretty much rocked every task where they actually had to demonstrate some competence, and are eliminated by something that is essentially out of their control. I don't buy the notion that they could have done something significant about it, such as somehow "realizing sooner" that they weren't going to the right place (are they being punished for not being omniscient?). We have no idea how soon they realized they were in trouble, or how quickly they reacted by getting out and asking people. They might have done just about all they could do under the circumstances. Plus, that whole argument depends on at least one other team being affected by bad taxi luck, so there is yet another random component involved.
