Here's what's replaced Martha on the Hallmark Channel.

“Home & Family” originates from a New England Colonial-style 2446 square foot, fully-functioning home built by Universal Studios on the studio’s backlot. Steines and Davis will use each room in the house to show you everything from how to buy a week’s worth of groceries for $100 to how to grow hothouse tomatoes that are organic and tasty. Plus you'll get tips on finding great bargains and discounts on everything from automotive to lawn and garden.

“Home & Family” is a show that deals in answers. Each day, the show’s hosts will interact in roundtable discussions with experts from every field. High profile celebrities will join in some discussions, and real people will become part of the show. Week to week, “Home & Family” follows America – from expecting moms’ journeys to weight loss successes – engaging everyone in stories that matter.

Is this blandly titled program a talk show? A how-to show? Some ungodly hybrid like The Chew?

I was wondering when or where this would come up. I taped this yesterday and today. Havn't watched todays episode yet, (don't know if i will) . I remember The Home and Family Show with Christina Ferrara awhile back and I really enjoyed it. Yesterdays show was their first day. They had David Arquette on the whole two hours and I don't know what to think. Of course you got to think it was the first day, everyone must of been nervous, it's live t.v. etc, but I don't know.

Since the show site describes it as the "Ultimate How-to show," I've moved it to the How-To Reality thread. What does MPDP stand for?

I know! I know! Mindy Paige Davis Page. She was born Mindy Paige Davis and married Patrick Page.

I won't be watching this show, as they have now deleted Mad Hungry as well at Hallmark -- but wanted to tell TWOP Howard that the icon taking this thread to the new forum is very cool.

I loved the original Home and Family, but can't bring myself to watch this. Why on earth did they pick the obnoxious Ms. Davis? She helped ruin Trading Spaces (turned it onto a "game show" from a decorating show) and now she's probably going to ruin Home and Family.

Besides, they will never be able to replace the stellar supporting players (The Carey Brothers, Candice Garvey, etc) from the original series of shows.

Why on earth did they pick the obnoxious Ms. Davis?

Caught this show for the first time and thought WTF?!?! This was the most snoozeworthy show ever created. And what the hell happened to Paige Davis' hair? It looked like a black helmet. It reminded me of an elderly person who used to have dark hair and continues to color it black at 101 - Ugh. And on this particular day she was wearing this tank top that looked totally inappropriate for a talk show host. She looked like she just came in from the farm. I remember her from Trading Spaces and thought she was attractive but time has not been kind to her. And Mark Steines is another one. I remember him from ET and always liked him, but he is equally as boring as Paige. What happened?!? And the show is two hours long. Two hours?!?

The Hallmark Channel must be desperate and/or must not have much of a budget for this production.

Saw a few different minutes of this mess two days ago, during breaks at MSNBC. One segment had a "television personality" (this was her job title) talking about people watching her gain weight during pregnancy on television. Said the male co-host earnestly, " is it true that women are concerned about losing weight after havng a baby?".

Another segment had two co-hosts spackling a two-inch hole in a wall. They spackled, they looked at it, they decided to finish the job on the next show. Cliffhanger!

I never found out if they finished the spackle. Who dreamed this up?

This show is so bad and I feel awful about that because I was really looking forward to taping and watching each night. I loved Christina Ferrara in the last HAFS. I guess it just proves you can't go back.

I agree wholeheartedly. The original Home and Family Show (same producer is doing this one, by the way) was great. It had engaging, charasmatic hosts and a supporting cast of talented and entertaining people. This one has two snoozeworthy hosts ("Helmet Head Davis" looks awful, by the way, and still hasn't learned to tone it down while in front of the camera as opposed to acting on stage)and a revolvig cast of what appears to be hundred of minutely talented wannabes. The crafts lady, "Mr. Something-or-other" has a very unpleasant voice. The only way this show can work is by replacing the current cast.

I saw this for a few minutes the other day. And, it reminded me of some show but couldn't for the life of me remember it until unosurvivor mentioned it. I remember Christina Ferrer was the female host but I don't rememberr the male host. I do recall it ran for a pretty long time. I had always liked CF during her modeling days and she would occasionally fill in for Kathie Lee Gifford on LIVE back in the day. Anyway, I didn't watch the new one long enough to catch Paige. I used to like her on Trading Spaces but she was really only on in the beginning & end parts. I guess I ain't missing much.

Chuck Woolery was the co-host with Christina Ferrera. I used to like watching that show too.

Cristina Ferrare (correct spelling) hosted with Chuck Wollery and then later with Michael Something-or-Other. All of the hosts and "specialists" were interesting, had interesting back stories (like the pro football player who did "sewing segments" for the show) and had personalities, unlike this cast. The show is going to have to find its footing (and an audience)fast.

Did my ears really hear Paige Davis say this? The other day I was busy doing something but had this show on , just because I have hope it may get better, but I heard Mark Steine say Paige wasn't there at the moment because she was in the 'powder room'. Well, I didn't think too much of that, but when they came back from the break, Paige was with them and said something like she couldn't hold it. I could be wrong, but if not MY GOD! She is PATHETIC! And I agree, that hair do on her looks terrible, just like a helmet.

Paige & Mark have been reading Facebook comments made about the show - what people want, like and don't like, etc. Turns out Paige has received some comments regarding her 'helmet head' hairdo (LOL!) and her excuse is she doesn't have time to get to the hairdresser because she's also working on a show on the OWN network called Home Made Simple and gets home late (whatever, Paige). But she's apparently going to have her hair cut and colored (can't believe she showed the camera her 1" gray roots for all to see) and you can see the results if you watch next week's shows.

Another thing that I find odd about the production of this show is Paige had her father & stepmother skyping in from wherever to discuss what they like and don't like about the show. Duh? How odd that all it takes to get on the show is to be related to the hosts???

Don't even know why I'm still watching (clicking in and out really) - must have something to do with the train wreck phenomenon.

Yes Fishyswa, I am just like you, still watching , not really knowing why. I have hope that it might turn itself around and become the show I really loved, but after Fri. I just can't. Paige has become more interruptive and obnoxious it seems like she's doing it on purpose because 'she can' . I don't know, maybe she's pissed off because it looks like she isn't getting any good comments., but you got to admire the fact that they are letting us in on the bad comments. Mark seems to be on to her and even makes comments now and then of how she interrupts. I say get rid of Paige, bring in better craft segments and get rid of those "Has Been' or rather "Never Was' so called stars. look how great "The Chew has become and they just focus on food, but everyday they create an awesome show with just food as the main subject, like 'fall extravagana' with the show being all about fall dishes, or sandwitch day, but Clinton does throw in some very interesting crafts that have made me go out and get everything I will need each time to do with my grandson. I have not liked ONE single craft this show has done OR one single recipe, (maybe Cameron Manheims crepes were pretty cool), but something needs to change to make two hours of this show each day become interesting. Woody did it before, I believe he can do it again.

O.K. at this point this show is only good for some great snark value! Sad because I was hanging on to the hope of just a matter of them finding their groove and settling in to become a good little show like it was before many years ago, but today was the absolute craziest! Paige , (and I knew she was bothered by all her negative comments because the kind of narcissistic personality that she is couldn't be anything but) reads a comment that lets us viewers know that if we don't like the hosts of the show, well then just don't watch! Then she goes on to say that her and Mark can't change their personalities to suit everyone and she does NOT intend to! HUH! THEN, (this is the best part) she added extentions to her hair because she's being called 'helmuthead' and OMG!! I have never seen such OTT fake looking extentions like this before! I was laughing so HARD! Granted, she claims her hair extention expert did it in like 2 min. but it was HILARIOUS! It was HER short style only LONGER. I mean, you could actually see her SHORT hair and then where she clipped on the extention, with the lenth all cockeyed and uneven on both sides! Then they go on to skype (is that the term?) a young girl who is already a homeowner of a bunch of houses. They have done this before in the past few episodes, and you can't understand a single word the girl is saying! I could go on, but I actually was FF and only saw that they had that Mr. girl again doing nails and they had a guy on a bike doing stunts you see little boys doing in your own neighborhood on a daily basis. But I just want to say, Paige is clearly not happy with what is being said about her and it is FUNNY!

Honestly, has Paige ever had a decent hairstyle? I have a feeling she's totally inept at doing her hair. I hope she goes back to Broadway and stays off televsvion, because it sure isn't her medium. If I wanted to see an over the top, obnoxious child-like person, I would watch Honey Boo-Boo!

Oh I know . BADMINTON? REALLY? Basically I just ff through alot of it, but I do watch the beginning, they started to read viewer feedback a few weeks ago, this week , hardly nothing, or rather I THINK NOTHING! Probably can't see nothing good to read on air. I don't know, I wanted it to work out so much. I dought it will stay on too long.

OH my dear forum friends! I wish someone was watching this with me. It surely is a snarkfest! Yesterday they had Doug Wilson on from Trading Places of yesteryear, and Paige and him walked down memory lane together. Then they had him 'brightening up' both Paige's and Mark's trailor that is sitting on the Home And Family set. All he did was change the trash basket, and put up a bright what looked like a shower curtain on each of the trailors walls to cover the t.v. and cabinets when not in use. The excitement Paige displayed over her new trash can was beyond laughter! This show is comedy GOLD!

Honestly, Paige has a way of ruining every show she's on. She is too over-the-top for television. Introduce someone with a calmer persona, like Cristina Ferrare was on the old show. Funny, but NEVER in your face obnoxious like Paige.

I just adore Cristina Ferrare and that' is what I was hoping for was Woody to bring back the goodness that was this show. It's not working with this show offy OTT self absorbed scene stealer. She just rubs me the wrong way and appears so insincere. I use to kind of like her the handful of times I watched Trading Places, but I don't like her now.

I've always liked Cristina Ferrari. Ever since her & Cheryl Tiegs were the it models of the 70's. she also used to fill in KLG with Regis and was really funny. I actually wanted her to replace KLG but they went younger. Maybe, she can make this a full time gig. I still like Paige but she seemed like such a spazz doing this show. I guess the two full hours weren't a good fit for her. She is better in small doses and a better hair cut. LOL!

I'm happy to have Christina back. It's helpful when you have a show about cooking, crafts, etc. to have someone who actually does those things. Maybe we will actually get to see more of that. I hope she ends up staying permanently. Let me say though I have no desire to see Chuck Woolery return.

This is such good news! I loved when Christina made The Home and Family Show her own thing years ago, and she is so good at crafts and cooking. That is why the show worked so well, amoung other wonderful endearing traits I did not see in Paige. The artickle was very short and to the point, I can just imagine the real reason she isn't staying. Every single comment on the Hallmark forums and other forums were very negative towards her. I feel bad for her that she wasn't accepted but you got to have that certain extra something that Christina and other good show hosts have to draw in a loving crowd of woman sitting down in their homes with you for two whole hours a day! She just could not connect. I wonder how Mark will do with Christina?

Happened to catch the end of the show today when Paige announced it to be her last day (shocker to me!). Her goodbye speech was a big boo hoo. Better for her to be back home with her hubby.

Never saw Cristina as a host of this show, so I'll be looking forward to checking her out on Monday.
