Executive Summary:
I have had to cut back my time with the site, so [drumroll]... TWoP Pembleton, aka Kim, is the Head Moderator. As of a few weeks ago, in fact. I am (obviously) still working on the site, dealing with the tech issues and the behind-the-scenes maintenance. This should have zero effect on anything y’all do; the only change is that I'm not slowing things down. At least, not as much.

Longer version for the 3 people who care:
I had some family stuff to deal with last spring (everything’s fine now!) and the job that pays the mortgage went bananas on me, and every time I thought it was calming down, I was so terribly wrong. And I’m officially too old to work 10 hour days at the office and form coherent thoughts when I get home. Granted, I’m not breaking rocks at either job, but... it was not functional, and I'm guessing that many of you noticed that. So we formed a new plan. Kim is doing what I think is the hard part of the job (don't tell her I said that!), and I’m extremely grateful for that because I know she's more than capable and that eased my guilt tremendously.

As I said, I will be fussing with tech stuff. There are things I've had on my to-do list for months (a FAQ update, cleaning up the Tech Issues threads, various fixes) that I can actually focus on now. And I'll do my best with any new problems like, say, if a server suddenly chokes. Ahem. But Kim is The Final Word on any posting/moderating questions you have. I'm just here to fuss with the IPB stuff and mutter about getting back my stapler.

I'll leave this open for a few days just in case I've left out anything you have questions about. I want to thank you folks for your patience; I know it was a bumpy summer here and I do apologize for that. I'm very happy that I can still be involved in the site and also do wacky things like sleep occasionally.

First, a hearty congrats and "wow, what have you gotten yourself into?" to TWoP Pembleton/Kim. And thanks to Strega for all the hard work put in up to this point. I hope you won't leave us completely!

Strega will still be around. I wouldn't have taken the job if I didn't have her to lean on. She'll be handling the tech stuff (which she is waaaaaay better at than me) and I'll be handling the content of the forums. You shouldn't really expect much to change on that front; I've been around since the site started and don't intend to make a bunch of changes for the sake of change. The only difference will be that Strega will be much less stressed out!

I had a feeling that something like this was coming the way TWOP Pembleton and Strega kind of tag-teamed their handling of the recent server issue that essentially created two different versions of TWOP; I got the feeling that Strega's been inching towards semi-retirement and was grooming Pembleton for a partial takeover of her duties. It also explains why Pembleton is no longer moderating the DWTS forum.

In any event, thanks above and beyond to Strega for all that she's done to keep this site from going off the rails since the Big Three left a few years ago, and to Pembleton for taking over the reins on the moderating side. You both deserve high praise for your patience with us posters, especially when we yammer on about stuff that you've probably already heard ad nauseam. I know I'll certainly do my best to make things as easy as I can for both of you during the transition (you know, by being a responsible, low-maintenance poster and stuff like that there).

You folks are very sweet. Honest, I will still be around! It will probably be sporadic -- some weeks I can spend time here in the evenings. And then there will be times when I may just check in briefly at night to make a list of things I need to do on the weekend. Which is why I should not be responsible for day-to-day stuff, basically.

I like this but you are giving me WAY too much credit! I mean, a) if it was planned I'd have done a much better job of it (well, I hope I would have) and b) she really doesn't need grooming; she's been with the site longer than I have!

Although frankly this mutual admiration thing is kinda boring. Can't this be part of someone's evil machinations? That's so much more interesting!

In keeping with the site's TV theme, I vote that any conspiracy theories (or other-based theories) about Strega should be based on Twilight Zone episodes. Or others as deemed applicable. Personally, I'm sticking with the Mirror Image-TZ theory. The suitcases got moved once too often. ;-)

Seriously, Strega, thanks for the many years of hard work and not a few lost holidays and weekends (err...not the drunken kind, I should add). Enjoy dealing with the coding (she says vaguely, because as far as I know magical hamsters are involved in that).

Pembleton/Kim, I feel like I should offer you a B12 or something. Or maybe a cloning machine. Sadly, I have neither, so I'll just wish you luck :-)
