I tried to watch this show yesterday.

It was so cringeworthy.

It was way too positive and uplifting and all that bullshit.

And his wife, who was married not too long ago to Mark-Paul Goselaar, works on the show, too.

And he is dad to Zack Morris' kids. That's weird.

Great thread title!

It was way too positive and uplifting and all that bullshit.

I haven't seen it yet, but I was very surprised at seeing that the promos were stressing the uplifting angle. Who is he trying to be, Oprah?

It's kind of a shame if it's bad, but not snark-worthy bad. Then I might watch it.

Jeff...stay in the jungle. We like you there a whole lot better.

If you want to do something different, why not resurrect "Rock'n'Roll Jeopardy"? At least THAT was entertaining!

Oh, Gawd. Major suckage alert.

I only saw his first show and about 10 minutes of yesterday. So his first guest was a young woman who has terminal cancer and is bald. Jeff’s theme was. smile! be happy! live life to the fullest!, and he said he’s going to periodically bring her back. Why, Jeff?

Then yesterday he had some guy who was an advertising exec and got fired at age 53. So now, several yrs later the guy says he’s much happier cleaning bathrooms at Starbucks.

Please, go away, Jeff.

I can't even stand watching him on Survivor anymore, but I thought I'd give his new talk show a chance. I'm really sorry I did! I know it's supposed to be about uplifting things but the stories to get to the uplifting parts were depressing me the first show! I haven't watched since.

This 1000X yes!! I've been dying for him to do this show again.

I saw his second show. I've never seen this happy uplifting Jeff before. Where the heck has this side of him been all these years? Looks like he's trying too hard for everyone to like him.

I saw the show with Matt Harding who started dancing with people around the world. It was interesting, but Jeff asked the wrong questions. So what else is new? I wanted to know how he communicated to 50 people in Russia, 100 people in France, people in Hong Kong, to dance with him. How about those ladies in beautiful costumes in Costa Rica? How did he approach them all? They dropped whatever they were doing to participate. There were so many fascinating people and countries. However, Jeff wanted to talk about why men are afraid to get up and dance. Well Jeff, Matt didn't have any trouble. Jeff focused on that question so he could grab several guys from the audience and ask them to dance around. He was going for the "audience participation" angle to make it seem like everyone was having fun. I thought it was awkward.

Here's Matt Harding dancing around the world.

Another segment I saw had Jeff Lewis, from Flipping Out, and another guy talking about how to ask your husband or boyfriend to "manscape" themselves. Some woman in the audience wanted to know how to talk to her boyfriend about it. The dialogue the 3 of them came up with was her asking her guy "if you clean yourself up down there, you'll have the best night of your life". It seemed more like a frat party getting out of hand. I changed the channel.

SunShine Gal, I thought the Jeff Lewis segment with Zoila was extremely odd and Probst seemed off as well. As for the "manscaping" segment...I changed the channel pretty quickly, too. Just when you thought it couldn't get more awkward...it did.

But I did enjoy segment showing the man with the handicapped daughter whose family did triathlons with her. That made me teary!

I just happened to be flipping through the stations today, just before 2pm PST, and saw this show listed. When I clicked on info, it said that Mike Rowe was going to be on. I was kind of "meh" on the show, but Mike made it worth it. They also had an adult toy tester on who was kind of fun--especially with Mike in on the conversation.

I turned the show on because I was curious about the sex toy tester. She was fun without being gross, but I was curious about what she earns and nothing was said. (I remember a couple yrs ago I saw an interview with a woman who test-tastes dog food, and she makes big bucks.)

The sex toy woman said she tests 50 – 60 products a month. Not meaning to sound judgmental, but (to me) that would be similar to phone sex actress – i.e., a few days of that would get icky and tiresome.

I still find Jeff annoying, and he involves his wife a bit too much. Okay, you’re married and happy . . .fine. I also don’t care for the last few minutes of the show where Jeff sits around with the producers and discusses each day’s show.

Flipping through channels, I caught a segment with a woman living in an 84-square-foot home, and I watched it, and the segment that followed, with two guys from the audience answering female audience members' questions. I'd never watched the show before, but both segments were actually quite decent, and I was a bit surprised. I wouldn't have expected to enjoy the show.

One of the two guys had some good answers that he delivered in a decisive and entertaining way. They should bring him back, I think.

I also don’t care for the last few minutes of the show where Jeff sits around with the producers and discusses each day’s show.

So that is a regular feature, huh? I didn't like it either.

I just watched the episode about the modern definition of a "real" man. And whoo, the husband and wife had some serious tension going on. She seemed rather resentful; their body language was very telling. She was leaned into him, while undermining things he said. And he seemed to lean away at times, and wasn't interested in physical contact with her at all. Their daughters seem crazy about him, though. I thought it was an interesting double standard there - the wife felt he should contribute financially, and seemed to imply he didn't do ENOUGH around the house, despite him being the full-time parent. I'm glad a SAHM in the audience set the record straight. I'll be surprised if their marriage lasts, particularly since their daughters are teenagers and will presumably be out of the house in a few years. He's a handsome guy, so I doubt he would have a problem finding a woman who appreciates him. His wife certainly doesn't.

I have never watched Survivor, so know little about Jeff, but I thought he was annoying as a host.

I really like this show; in fact, I can say I love it. I don't find it interesting every single day, but for the most part, I find his stories a bit different and therefore interesting. I like how specific he gets with the guys on the couch. His guests are quirky for the most part without seeming like they are trying to be hard to be quirky (like some of the Survivor twits). He has good topics which you don't see everywhere and it doesn't hurt that I find him one hot-assed man. I do agree though that he involves his wife a bit too much. She doesn't seem to have a lot of screen presence.

I like the Guys on the Couch segments and for the most part the show has been okay. I just don't like how Jeff talks about himself so much. Example of this is when he was talking about the guy from Two and a Half men and then brought up how he (Jeff) was a host at the emmys.

When he begins the show intro, Jeff says “First a little about me. I’m recently married, my wife works with me on the show, and I’m learning to be a dad in a blended family”. Well, (aside from wife working on tv show) how many millions of men does that apply to? He doesn’t bother to mention his career as a game show host, tv producer, and host of the Emmy winning Survivor. My wife this and my wife that. Okay, you’re married and happy. Congrats. Enough.

I had the show on in the background today and found the woman who lied on her resume to be interesting. But he kind of left her in the air . . .he didn’t ask how/what she’s doing now. It was “our next guest . . .”

I don’t care for the “adventure” bits where he offers a “challenge” which usually consists of an insecure women calling her boyfriend. to find out where she stands or telling bf she's moving on.

I've watched a few of the Guys on the Couch segments now and enjoyed them.

The first one I saw was an outgrowth of the Guys on the Couch's advice to a girl in the audience and it made sense, but the theme of the "adventure" has been, as you said, repetitive.

Although I didn't catch them, the earlier segments on one show I watched looked interesting too, so if I'm looking for something to watch at that time, I might check out more episodes of this show.

But I wish everyone would stop trying to be Oprah.

I also liked the Guys on the Couch segments I've seen, particularly the one with Mike Rowe, and wish he could have expressed his opinion more. It basically consisted of Jeff disagreeing with and talking over Mike, and the other guy, who barely spoke at all. It really seemed like they were being dismissed by Jeff because they're older men, when I would think age brings experience and wisdom. Mike appeared bemused, if not slightly annoyed, by Jeff's rantings.

Granted, the questions came from younger women, but good or bad, some perspectives and advice are timeless, and Jeff is under the impression that anyone who doesn't think "progressively" as he does isn't with the times or something. Like the "Girl who wants to say I love you first" question. I'm not sure there is a clear cut answer there, but I also thought Jeff might have been setting that girl up to get her feelings hurt.

I thought it was hilarious when Jeff insisted on the younger guy for the "Girl who likes to drink" question, because Mike and the other guy were old fogies who clearly were out of touch about liberated women, and the younger guy basically validated what Mike in particular said.

I gave this show a chance because some of the segments were interesting, but when I'm mentally wishing for Jeff to STFU and let others talk, it's probably best for me not to tune in.

Jeff, you were great with Jon Cryer. Now if you could do all your shows with celebs, and then put them back "on the couch" with you later for audience Q & A, I might start watching regularly. Think about it, ok?

With all due respect to Dancin Queen, Jeff, please don't do this! : ) There are (too many IMO) celebs talking and selling their stuff everywhere. Regular guys giving advice is a novel idea, and so far, I've liked the instances I saw, and it's what's different and interesting about this show. Even celebs doing "guys on the couch" would often have them saying the answers they think best fit/market their image, I think.

commenter, the celeb interviews I've seen didn't include any hawking.

Caught the tail end of Judge Judy today, and IMO, Jeff is best at reading people and asking in-depth questions. He also doesn't run them off the stage.

What was the questions book Jeff read from when he asked Howie Mandel if he'd rather be old and senile, or old and decrepit? I wasn't sure why he was using that book, but I still want to know what book it was.

I thought the title of the book was simply "Book of Questions". I didn't catch the author's name.

Jeff said his producers found the book, which just lists a bunch of questions.

Well, I saw the show the other day and I couldn’t help but frown at something that happened (while I do understand that some of you might see it differently).

The segment was about people who have gone thru tough times (job loss, etc.) and had to make adjustments. One family had to get rid of their car and for a long time bicycles have been their mode of transportation. They sometimes get a ride from friends, but mostly ride bicycles. The mother went on about how they’re known as the Bicycle Family, and if someone would give them a car she’s not sure they would want it.

So Jeff surprised them with – new bicycles. Okay, that was nice. But I think the show could have given them a car. No, not a fancy car, but damn . . . To me that was like someone getting their electricity turned off for nonpayment, reading by candlelight, then giving them - new candles!

A friend/relative offering them a used car is a lot different than being given one by a TV show. I think the Jeff Probst show could have done better.

Also saw Marissa Jaret Winokur on the show; she's lost 60 lbs. I Haven't seen much of her since she was on "Dancing with the Stars". I found her annoying then, but gawd, she is even more hyper - actually manic. Ugh.
