Katie Couric's new program "Katie" debuts on Sept. 10, because heaven knows we need more daytime talk shows. According to the New York Daily News, Katie's scheduled guests during her first few weeks on the air will include Barbra Streisand, Wendy Williams, E.L. James, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Lopez, Sheryl Crow (who also wrote and performed the show's theme song), Chelsea Handler and Heidi Klum.

Her Sept. 11 guest will be Aimee Copeland, the Georgia graduate student who lost parts of her limbs to flesh-eating bacteria.

Sofia Vergara will be a guest on the same day that her “Modern Family” sitcom opens its new season on ABC.

E.L. James will give a rare interview about her book “50 Shades of Grey,” which has become the year’s hottest pop culture read.

Demi Lovato, who starts her run as an “X Factor” judge this fall, will talk about her fight with bulimia, and Raffaele Sollecito, Amanda Knox’s boyfriend, will talk about his time in an Italian prison and his reunion with Amanda. That couple was convicted previously of killing Knox’s roommate.

Other guests at Couric’s show will include a group of invited bloggers who will sit in the audience and live-blog the show every day.

Her perkiness comes across as so fake to me. Some people love her, but there's just something I don't like about her.

I can't say that I am a fan and I can't say that I am NOT a fan of Katie Çouric but I can say that I have watched her ever since she debuted on the Today show and she has ALWAYS been "perky" (with the exception of 9/11, that is, and other very heavy subjects).

I will give her show a chance and see how it entertains/informs me.

The ONLY "beef" I have with her show is that it is NOT replacing "The View!"

True. But in some markets Katie's show is taking the decades old 3 p.m. slot that belonged to General Hospital.

I will be interested in seeing/hearing Aimee. Otherwise, I won't be watching this talk show. Enough already.

Here are the initial guests for "Katie":

Mo 9/10: Jessica Simpson, Sheryl Crow
Tu 9/11: Katie has an exclusive interview with Aimee Copeland, the 24-year-old Georgia graduate student who gained national attention this summer when she lost parts of all her limbs to a rare flesh-eating bacteria. Aimee will share her story of survival, and walk - for the first time - on Katie’s stage. Plus: You Only Live Once, Katie’s “YOLO” franchise kicks off as she takes a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with racecar driver Danica Patrick.
We 9/12: Jennifer Lopez
Th 9/13: Brene Brown (a research professor and motivational speaker whose new book, "Daring Greatly," poses the question: can daring to make yourself vulnerable change your life, and be the ultimate key to happiness?), Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess)
Fr 9/14: Hair! It’s a billion dollar business and one of the nation’s most secret obsessions. From when to go gray, to the natural hair movement, Katie spends the hour on all things hair. Talk show personality Wendy Williams stops by with her famous wig collection, plus Katie tries hair extensions and going gray herself in front of her studio audience.

Mo 9/17: E.L. James
Tu 9/18: Raffaele Sollecito, who was Amanda Knox’s boyfriend, talks for the first time on American television about the murder case that made international headlines. He will discuss with Katie his life after his ordeal in an Italian prison and share details about his reunion with Amanda.

Can "YOLO" please die as a phrase already? And Katie makes a franchise of it. Oy.

I’m a bit confused. Katie left NBC, went to CBS, then went to ABC, but her new talk show is in NBC? I was surprised to see Katie pimping her show during commercial breaks on America’s Got Talent. WTF?

One word to describe her: Overrated. I find the gum-showing grin to be annoying and phoney.

Her show is in syndication so it will air on different network affiliates. Her show is syndicated by Disney/ABC she is on a lot of ABC affiliates but it's not on every ABC affiliate, so in your market she is on NBC.

But won't GH just move to 2.p.m. for those markets? I remember reading an article that said Katie was actually trying to get GH not canceled and as a lead in so she wouldn't alienate soap fans.

I never watched Katie, but I miss laughingat/being irritated with Oprah everyday, so I hope this is fun to watch.

Katie Couric is/never was/never will be comparable to Oprah Winfrey. Look for Katie's talk show to go the same route as Megan Mullaly.

A couple quick changes to the premiere week line-up: Heidi Klum will now be appearing on Wednesday's show, and Jennifer Lopez will be on Friday. I guess the "hair show" with Wendy Williams will be rescheduled.

Congratulations to Katie! I watched her first show and she actually sucks even more than she did on the news. Jessica Simpson's eating too many "slutty brownies" was the intellectual highlight. Couric has always appeared to be a nasty fake and that's exactly how she comes across on her show. IMO, the world would be abetter place if people didn't waste two seconds on this crap. Makes me want to cancel cable and subscribe to The Wall Street Journal. Dream on little troll. Oprah you are not. Another thing: WTF with all the rapid blinking?

Snoozefest.

Caught parts fo the show today. Zzzz.... Sheryl Crow looked awesome, but that was it. Katie had her junior high school friends on, and you could tell how much surgery she has had compared to them (who looked natural). This is what may cause the demise of my beloved General Hosptial??

I am watching it !

Available on two different networks/channels at the same hour. Seems like two different shows. When I was switching stations, I see Katie wearing different coloured dresses (blue and then a magenta one) One segment she is interviewing Sheryl Crow. Another time she is with Jessica Simpson and the weight watchers coach leader. Back to the other channel and she is talking hair with Wendy Williams.

They may be hoping for a bump from the re-scheduling of General Hospital, but the masses there hate the idea of moving their show (although there is some respect for Katie supporting the continuation of the show, rather than cancelling it to make room for her)to an earlier hour. Has to do with college class schedules and the like, which are part of the backbone of viewership.

In any case, I have no interest in another talk show and it'll be interesting to see how well it does.

I've always liked Katie. To me she isn't phony at all. She's a journalist, mother, and lost her husband much too young to colon cancer.

She might have been hard to work with at CBS News but maybe she's a perfectionist and worked hard to make that newscast the best she could. There was a lot of pressure on her over there. I realize she was paid millions but she still had to produce.

I like her new show. Don't care about Jessica Simpson but am a fan of Cheryl Crowe's and that interview was interesting.

I didn’t watch, but I’ll check it out later this week. Sounds like major suckage.

Re: blinking, I noticed it when Katie interview Sarah Palin. Then when SNL did a parody, Amy Poehler was blinking like crazy, LOL!!

I assume it’s bad contact lens fit or some eye condition. But, it’s not like she can’t afford to have that fixed.

Yes, Katie has done a good thing regarding colonoscopies. But I still don't like her and the gum-showing grinning makes me wanna puke. I never thought she was all that.

I watched just to see Jessica Simpson, she looked great today. I notice though she didn't sit back so I am wondering if she was spanxed to the max. In any event, she is quite pretty. But in the WW preview that aired during the show, Jessica's eyes were two distinctly different shaped eyes. It drove me crazy, I looked, hit rewind, looked again, paused - drove me nuts. Anyone else notice?

I only watched with first half with Jessica Simpson and couldn't take anymore. Jessica's hair was driving me crazy and it always does, but it had extra, extra extensions and bleach in it today.

Agree with the other poster, she did looked spanxed to the max! Didn't see any great "new body reveal" that was endlessly hyped. Seemed more like she was trying to hide her body with the black dress and all that hair. Could be just my impression. Her WW commerical was only from the neck up!

I hope Katie's show gets better. Not the big start I was expecting. Not sure about the opening part with Matt.

I do not pity the celebs whose lives are in constant public review but there are perks and disadvantages that come with the territory. She openely admits she made poor eating and exercise habits during the pregnancy so I guess she has to pay the piper now or accept the situation. I felt Katie didn't appreciate the gift or didn't like the Jessica Simpson shoes. Katie seemed to have brushed them aside and didn't make much hoopla over the gesture.

The only thing more boring the celebs talking about their babies is celebs talking about their diet. and it went ON forever. If she was going to have that much time with Jessica, isn't there anything else to talk about? OK maybe not. I guess the reason WW doesn't want its celebs to say how much weight they have lost is because it doesn't matter, the celeb will be spanxed to an inch of her life anyways.

I didn't mind the SC interview because I don't know much about SC so I was surprised she was a big haired back up singer for MJ. Also surprised about the brain tumour and that Katie would as about Lance. I wish Sheryl would have said, "Ya he's a big ole cheater."

In Toronto, Katie came on at 4pm so they could have left GH at 3pm. I see Ellen has switched networks here and is also on at 4pm so I will prob switch between the two if I am home to watch.

It was ok. Comfortable, because this is what Katie did for so many years on Today. I did notice a few audience shots though, and I HATE those. So fake to show happy colorful people with the perfect expressions. I'll probably watch depending on the guests.

Jessica Simpson looked awful. It's not the weight--- she's a pretty girl, extra weight or not, but that dress wasn't flattering, and the HAIR! Too much. They showed a snapshot of her family--- maybe from July 4th? She looked way better there. Less is more, dear.

No, Katie Couric certainly isn't Oprah, but that's not a bad thing in my book. Saint Oprah got a little too big for her britches those last few years. She made a gazillion dollars on her talk show, and used some of her fortune to do good. That's great, but Mother Teresa she is not.

I can see how Katie's show could grow on me, definately better than Anderson. Although I finally figured out what it is about Anderson and Katie that bug so much. They are too "reporterly", they have their agenda of questions they want to get in and don't let the interview flow. Anderson is especially bad for this, and BAD segues. Even Katie was bad on Monday talking to Sheryl C. She started by talking with Sheryl about MJ and then just switch subjects to her brain tumour. Even though Oprah did interupt and talk about herself a lot at the end, I think what made her originally good is that she talked with the guests and kind of just let the converstion flow and wasn't just listing of questions off a card. Another problem with Katie is she keeps asking her guests "how did that feel...when I gave you that crib, or when you walked out on stage and people clapped etc etc. I think there is better ways to elicit responses from people then the obvious and boring "how did that feel?" I hear Anderson changed his format, which is probably good because I felt he couldn't connect with people at all. Katie seems like she will be able to connect and will probably be the one who can replace Oprah.

I won't be watching regularly, but I was glad to see Aimee Copeland. She is truly amazing. Since this happened so close by, and then with the others in Georgia who also were afflicted around the same time, we got a lot of coverage.

Her father was a real prayer warrior. Her attitude and recovery has been awesome, and I think Katie did a good job. I'm happy the show gave her that van. Aimee was on the road to do good things, but now, I think she'll even exceed those goals. Wonderful young woman.
