I watched the roast expecting at least a few laughs. Instead, I heard rampant fat jokes toward Roseanne and gags about Jane Lynch's sexuality. Comedy Central blew it big time!

I thought it was pretty tame. But I enjoyed it anyway, somehow. I'm not saying it was the greatest thing I've ever seen, but it wasn't bad.
And it all seemed to be in good fun.

Only other observation I have right now is that I thought it had a different look and feel to it than past CC Roasts.

Other thoughts?

Carrie Fisher making fun of the repetitive, obvious nature of the jokes (and references to how artificial and scripted the roast seemed) was the best part of the whole thing.

I liked it simply because I love Roseanne. However, the jokes were all primarily fat jokes which was lazy. I think Tom Arnold was the only one who didn't rely on jokes about her weight to move his set along. In fact, he was very endearing and I was surprised at how emotional he became. I was also happy that Roseanne's rebuttal was funny and was shocked when she sang somewhat well.

Where did Katy Segal find the fountain of youth? (has she had surgery? I can never tell).

The whole thing seemed less formal than usual but I have missed the last few. It will be a while before one will top the Larry the Cable guy roast in my book.

This exactly. I just loved everything she said. I adore Roseanne. But this was a disappointment aside from Tom Arnold's appearance. I think Roseanne said it best herself when she commented on the choice of comedians. Ellen Barkin? Really? Wayne Brady? WTF? And endless fat jokes. Which really is so lazy considering the wealth of things they could have drawn from. The end bit she did really made me want her on tv again. ALOT!

That was the ONLY funny part IMO. This roast, as well as Charlie Sheen's, sucked.

And speaking as a hetero female- Katy Sagal was smokin' hot.

I was just able to catch this, and what a shame. I was looking forward to this Roast more than any other. I wanted to see at least one member of the cast (Tom Arnold doesn't count). I saw Lecy in the audience, I guess Fishman was there too. Laurie Metcalf would have been my top choice. Instead, we get a bunch of fat and crazy jokes, and slurring tired actresses. Yes, wallybear Katy is still smokin' hot! I'm really bummed. I do like Schumer and Jeselnik though.

While I liked this roast better than many of you, I was dismayed at the two jokes about kids w/special needs (one so outdated as to use the term "Mongoloid", which hasn't been in use for decades). I sincerely hope Jane Lynch, who works w/an actress w/Down Syndrome on "Glee", said something backstage to Wayne Brady and the other comedian (don't remember his name) about how uncool that was. Lame though the fat and "multiple personality" jokes about Roseanne and the "mannish"/lesbian jokes about Jane Lynch may have been, both women were participating willingly and could give it right back if they so chose. I get that humor @ these roasts is supposed to be non-PC, but come on. Target the celebritites in attendance, not random disabled individuals. Not right. (And up to his joke, I had felt sorry for Wayne Brady.)

I think this was the worst of the new roast CC has done. This should have been a classic must see show. We watched the re-air the other night and started a drinking game in trying out our own better versions. Okay all we had was "now we know what you'd do for a Klondike Bar", but it got more laughs than pretty much anything else on the stage.

Wayne Brady has posted a public apology on his Facebook page. I'm gonna choose to believe that he means it sincerely.
