It's so strange how aware Kim's parents are that Grandma Jackie's behavior is delusional, yet they won't say anything. Not necessarily on Kim's behalf, but it's their house too. If they don't want Jackie over, they're justified in saying so and it'd give Kim a break. I feel like Kim isn't saying anything because she wants to keep the peace with Captain Rehab. She mentioned that Jackie was an overbearing mother who gave Captain Rehab a shirt because he couldn't sleep without her smell? Okay, some of that is Jackie being overbearing, the other half is your baby's father (surprise surprise!) being immature.
My favorite part of the Chae segement was when her sister said "I'm not saying you're a bad person," when that's exactly what Chae is. She mentioned that she just pressed the baby daddy issue to the back of her mind because she wanted Austin to be the father sooo much. Sure, that's a valid excuse.
What is the meaning of that ice cube trick? I was appalled that Lehmele told the doula, "No one gets (that much conversation) out of Shinayah." That girl has had more than her fair share of obstacles, it's true. But that's no excuse for being rude to strangers. I was/am very shy and not the greatest at social interaction. But I was raised to believe you at least make an effort.
Like others, I didn't see any connection between Shinayah and that poor baby. And the city helps pay Lehmele's rent? I don't know what the circumstances of her daughter's pregnancy are, but Lehmele brought her own (third?) child into that?
Mariah cracked me up when she was discussing her mother's wedding with her baby's father Josh. Josh was trying to sort of ease tension and Mariah said "I just want him to feel what I'm feeling!" I understand that the situation is incredibly difficult/based in Nicole's selfish delusions. But Josh was hearing Mariah. He just wasn't egging her on.
