Sookie considers life without faerie powers; Sam locates shooters; Hoyt finds a new group of friends; Alcide prepares for a fight; Lafayette searches for Jesus' body.

Oh, for fuck sake. I am tired of the Lala torture show.

I don't know. Russel may not be able to save this season for me.

I enjoyed this episode overall, but WTH was that weird Lilith blood creature thing at the end? Where did she come from? That was really cheesy.

I was about to ditch the show when I thought Lilith was physically present.

Her as a hallucination is okay.

Funniest episode ever!

Vampires on V!
Eric giving Bill a piggyback ride!
Russel telling Steve off!
Russel out singing that chick!

Wish Vamp!Keller hadn't died. Meloni can and will bring the funny...

Touching moments:

Emma and MamaWolf FTW
Pam being all maternal. Methinks that Lettie Mae is gonna feel the wrath of mommy Pam and soon!
Arlene's wedding video.
Holly being Holly.

Some WTF going on:
What was the point of showing the old sheriff?
Alcide and his second sparring and nearly fucking? Forgotten Sookie so quickly has he?

Bad Vibes:

The hate group is somehow going to get to Jessica, but that's okay kinda, she is the first vamp to feed off Jason perhaps this means her survival?

The Smoke Demon is heading for Arlene. It sensed that Terry was ready to die for his sins, so to prolong his agony she is going to pay for his sins instead...

Russel so far, is not saving the season for me despite having some pretty good lines tonight. I'm just so fucking bored this season. On the plus side, this was the first night I actually enjoyed Tara/Pam. Because Pam is awesome, always. Oh hey Godric, your daughter is the worst. Also, they killed my favorite Chancellor. Bastards.

I just don't even know what to do...

Also, 1998 called & would like it bad CGI blood effects back. That hallucinations was terrible.

The vampires tripping off of Lilith's blood made the episode worth watching. Just hilarious. From Edgington singing to the Bill/Eric bromance. I'm officially rooting for Russel and Steve to hook up. And yay for Godric!

Hate what they're doing to Hoyt. So now he's joining a hate group? I get why he's upset with Jessica, but is he aware of what he's doing? He's gone from depressed to flat out stupid.

Aww, Pam may actually care about Tara after all. Yay. However, I was not feeling Pam's crimped 80's style hair.

The rest was boring.

Nora's batshit craziness and blind obsession with Lilith is really wearing on my nerves. How much longer do we have to put up with her?

Tonight was like a special guest star parade. Lettie Mae. Jesus('s head). Sheriff Dearborne!

I jumped out of my chair when Jason shot Jessica in the head. Damn. There's a sentence I never expected to type. So I think it's safe to say that their FWB arrangement is officially over?

Hoyt continues to make me sad. It sounds silly to say it, but at least the supe-haters are targeting all shifters, vampires, etc. because of their own genuine hate for those "beings" in general. Hoyt is just mad at one of them, and now he's going to take his anger out on everyone. Sigh.

Arlene and Terry's wedding video! Finally, screentime dedicated to those two characters this season that doesn't make me feel like they just wasted perfectly good screentime. That was very cute. I giggled at Jason being wistful about AWOL-in-Fairyland Sookie and then immediately getting distrated by a piece of ass.

I like that Tara and Pam's relationship seems to be slowly building toward a reluctant mother-daughter bond. And nothing more! Yes, Pam is into chicks, yes, Tara dabbled in that ... but that doesn't mean they have to be into each other. They need a parent/child relationship from each other, because that's truly what each of them actually needs.

I am sure it's been said before, but there needs to be an official law requiring Joe Manganiello to appear shirtless in every episode. Of every show on TV. Just stick him in the middle of iCarly if necessary.

Why is Luna on my TV still?

So we went through all the trouble of marketing Christopher Meloni as the mega addition to the show this season, added him to the main credits not in the alphabetical part but in the main part, just to kill him off after five episodes? Well, that was a waste.

I will never not find the image of Bill riding piggyback on Eric hilarious.

Pam's hair was crimped, not teased. I have had the crimped hair, yes a remnant of the 80s.
I seriously don't get this show anymore. It's gone so far off the track, it might as well be a boat now.

There is definitely a Pam/Tara happening here, and I am bolding that slash in my mind. It is the best thing about the show right now, for me. Pam's hair? Ohhhhh. I may have drooled right onto my shirt. Love what Pam said to Tara about her mom. What an assbag. It's not like Tara chose to be a vampire. ... Or a lesbian.

Someone sewed LaLa's mouf shut and I wasn't happy about it? Now that was a surprise! That looked straight up painful.

Stop your EMO whining, Marines! Go volunteer at a place that cares for victims in wartorn countries or something, and maybe the Ifrit will go away mad.

Lilith! Banshee! Naked! And the unbeliever Eric will foil it all. I did LOLZ that Lilith blew Bill off and went right for her succulence.

Russel, you little ray of sunshine. I'm so glad you're back.

Because of how subtle Salome was shown to be the traitor -- I'm guessing the sheriff is the head honcho for the hate group.

Eric carrying Bill was funny -- Sam rolling on the floor sniffing out the hate group was hilarious.

So Sookie is willing to give up powers yet unknown just to be "normal" like everybody else. How ridiculous. She needs her powers to defend herself (as she is always in trouble) not to mention she lives in a city full of supernaturals and needs all the edge she can get. Just so shortsighted to me. Boring episode overall. I am kinda glad that Jason and Jessica finally fell out as I was hating their lovefest... it was just so wrong on so many levels. I never thought Hoyt was so foolish and easily led. He always seemed like he had a mind of his own in the past but is now just a pathetic hot mess. I wish they would kick up the pacing of the show as it just seems to be dragging along. I guess I am in the minority as I don't mind the different storylines... just wish they would speed everything up.

There were funny parts, but this show had a very filler feel overall. I feel like this episode was the transition between the first part of the season onward. I'm hoping that this means the usual turnaround. Why does this always happen? One half of the season is boring-ish, and the other half picks up with the last two or three episodes jammed packed with things happening and mostly, connecting together.

That said, Russell was so clearly lying that .... well, I mean, they had to know, right? I question the whole "Lilith" business, except for the two women, who clearly buy it. They acted much more like they had had super fairy blood or something. Which means ...

Wouldn't it be interesting if they could all be in the sun the next day for awhile? That would certainly clear things up for Eric, Bill, and Russell about the whole Lilith legend.

I find the whole 'Sookie gives up her powers thing' monumentally stupid. Yes, Sookie, take away the only protection that you have. Very smart. Sigh. I wonder if they are going to follow the books here, in terms of her origins and abilities?

Oh yes, Eric/Russell hook-up for the win! And Godric is always a treat.

I am disappointed in Jason. I could understand him hating the one vampire who allegedly killed his parents, but it's not Jessica's fault. The fact that she was feeding on a willing human ... she made it perfectly that she didn't intend to be exclusive with Jason and he knows she doesn't live on True Blood alone. Last season after they had sex she told him she was going to glamour and feed on someone after and he had no problem with it. They already did "Jason the vampire hater" with the Fellowship of the Sun" storyline. I don't need to see it again. I hope he comes to his senses.

I am liking Martha more and more. But Luna is still a pain.

Once again, the show missed an opportunity to explain why/how Sookie is fae but Jason is not. And yes, I know it's explained in the book, and there's been some very plausible fan-wanking, but it still annoys me that they don't comment on this. If Sookie was "half" fae, that would mean one of her parents was full-blooded. Do Sookie and Jason have different fathers in show-verse? Sookie asked in the flashback "My people are rapists?" Could this mean the mother was raped by a fae (perhaps never telling the father) and Sookie is the result? But that can't be right, because Grandaddy Earl and Hadley's son Hunter both seemed to have the fae ability (at least the mind-reading part). But then how can Sookie be considered "half" fae? Even if her grandfather was full fae (and he probably wasn't), she'd only 1/4 ... maybe I'm splitting hairs, maybe I'm nitpicking, but it's still bugging, especially since we've spent all this time explaining the mythology behind Lillith.

Man, the videos from the wedding ... I should have been annoyed since they didn't add much to the plot, but for some reason I really liked it. At least Holly pointed out after all the shit they've seen the Ifrit is not out of the realm of possibility.

Oh Lettie Mae ... Tara couldn't drained your sorry ass dry right then and there and I wouldn't have blamed you one bit. Aw, Pam ... they're called feelings. You'll get used to them. HUGS!

I must go back and watch the episode again. I seemed to have missed this gloriously hilarious moment of Bill riding piggyback on Eric.

Oh Hoyt ... just no. I have a terrible feeling the hate group will go after Jessica.

Did not care for this episode. Not at all. Did not like seeing Roman's hot ass reduced to splatter on the table. You brought Chris Meloni on for that?

I just can't stand Russell. Can't stand the sight of him, his voice, his creepy skeevy demeanor. He does not humor me, he is awful. Hated the tripping vampires killing the engagement party guests. One vampire looked like he was feeding off a woman's vagina on the bar, too much like a rape scenario to me. Looked like Bill or someone killed a child. Just too much overkill, literally, if you ask me.

Don't like seeing Tara on a stripper pole. Don't like seeing LaFayette with his mouth sewn shut. Don't like the hate group. Don't like that Luna is still on. Needed more Alcide. Didn't like the Jason/Jessica shoot/argument at the end either.

Oddly, I didn't mind Sookie tonight. Granted she was barely on, but she's usually the one who ticks me off and did not.

This was an episode that actually disturbed me on many levels and TB usually does not. So I was a bit bummed by that.

Personally I thought there were a lot of good things about this epi.

I'm glad to see Bud back! Reminded me of when TB was actually a GOOD show.

RUSSELL! I never thought I would like him (I wasn't a huge fan of him in season 3) but now that I look back, Russell, and Eric's search for Russell, were the best things, IMO, about season 3. And now that Russell's back, I love him even more. Karaoke night! Love it!

Glad Lilith was an hallucination. It's still too close to season 4 to have yet another possession.

And I like the position Eric's been put in. I'm interested to see what happens with him next. And glad to see the reason that Godric was back wasn't because of something Eric did, perse, but because Godric is Eric's conscious, in a way, and he's going to listen to it. My impression anyway.

LOVED seeing the drunk vamps.

But, for heaven's sake, if Nora chants and prays to Lilith one more time I'm gonna reach into my TV and stake her myself.

And, honestly, I really don't care about Sookie's struggles. That actually is boring me.

It looks like things are setting up for a battle. Not sure how I feel about that right now. I just wouldn't mind seeing a calm, sedate scene of the vamps being tortured by being forced to watch 'Twilight' or something like that. I'm sure that would make them think twice. Or perhaps host a book club on 'Fifty Shades of Gray'?

I think what bugs me most about the Nora business is that we weren't ever made to really care about her in the first place. She's been annoying since she was first introduced. She hasn't even really said much aside from Lilith chants. I don't really care if Eric saves her or not. I'd actually rather see her staked.

I have to say this...what I love about this season is that it has the balls to make us uncomfortable. So many people want to turn a blind eye to what religious zealotry does to people...how people can use religion and scripture as justification to do wrong. How people in our society use the Bible and Christianity to deny people their full rights as citizens. How we used it as a reason for the Crusades, the Inquisition, witch trials...you name it. This season is showing us how a group of vampire fanatics is using their "scripture" to justify treating humans in horrifying ways, and behave like animals themselves. This season has also showed us how zealotry towards a good cause can backfire. Roman was SO zealous about his belief, that he simply tuned out to any dissention, which led to a coup being staged right under his nose. I'm SO LOVING that a show has been willing to put this in people's faces...that zealotry is NEVER a good thing.

I agree. Bud is "Dragon".

I guess I'm in the minority because I thought it was awesome that Jason shot Jessica in the head. Hey, Jess! You don't bite someone just cause you can! She was acting like a brat.

I also laughed when Sam was rolling on the floor like a dog rolling in poo. Too funny.

Hated Lafayette having his mouth sewn shut, but I was shocked when pregnant chica killed the other guy!

The whole Lillith/V Trip was weird and funny except for the slaughter at the end. Maybe it was actually Faery Blood they drank. I'm so glad that Lillith was a hallucination and not real.

And you gotta love Steve Newlin. He's just happy to be included.

I don't see why Jessica should have to apologize for feeding on a willing human. It wasn't like she drained him or anything. And gave Jason the illusion that their relationship would be exclusive (not that fucking and feeding are neccessarily equivalent).

I also loved Sam rolling around on the floor. Trammell is a great actor when it comes to the physical stuff. Remember last year when he impersonated Tommy? Guy's very talented.

Amen. Martha is genuinely interesting and compelling, whether she's a good guy or a bad guy. They can keep Martha and Emma the cub, and ditch Luna.

Word to all of this. She's dead weight, IMO.

I zoned out during the fae plot; did they say that if Sookie uses up her fae lightning bolts, her blood is still potent for vampires?

I thought the way Claude answered the question about Sookie using up all her powers and turning fully human was answered very vaguely. He didn't seem happy with the question - like "yes, you will lose your fae part, but you will also do THIS" (where "this" could be dying, being a perfectly normal human, aging super fast, turning into a vampire, etc.). I really thought Sookie (or even Jason) would have asked more questions.

I appreciated Sam's answer about whether he would change himself if he could. He's a smart cookie (and agree that him rolling around on the ground was AWESOME).

I remain unspoiled on this season so it was a really nice surprise to see Godric (even if only in Eric's head). I was curious why Nora kinda looked like she saw/felt Godric too though).

The Lafayette/Terry scenes did nothing for me. I'm not feeling this season still.

I think Jason shot Jessica because she bit him, not because she fed on someone else. Jason was the unwilling one. Sure, he was mad that she fed on someone and then kissed him, but that's not why he shot her. He was defending himself.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear.

But I still think it was funny.

Eric giving Bill a piggyback ride FTW!!!

To me, that was stranger than Lilith, Tara hugging Pam and Rev. Newlin drinking with Russel combined.

I only hope Edgignton doesn't plan to kill a minister per episode or Salome would be alone by the season finale. And I did notice Molly wasn't invited to drink with her despite Nora's cellmate did.

This has bugging me too, ever since she learned what she was. She is, but Jason isn't, Hadley isn't, but her son is...Grandpa was...it doesn't seem like her parents were at all. So how is that possible? Is it like diabetes and skips a generation? Is everyone descended from grandpa a carrier and some just have the qualities expressed and some carry but don't express? Inquiring minds want to know! For heaven's sake, tell us already!

Other than that, though, there was some fun stuff in this episode:
  • High vampires roaming the streets of New Orleans
  • "You....light up my life"
  • JM Shirtless and trying to kiss someone other than Sookie
  • Sherrif Dearborn's explanation for why it wasn't a good time to talk
  • Aww...Arlene...normally I don't like your hateful ass, but your wedding video watching got me
  • "I aint been to night school, or fairy school or nothin;..."

Sometimes I wish episodes were two hours long. Not every week, but I would have liked to have seen what happened next in the bar.

I was hoping Tara would have glamored Lettie Mae.

I am loving Tara's relationship with Pam, even if Pam isn't loving it (at least the hugging part) so much at the moment. I can't wait to see where it goes.

The vampire was feeding on her femoral artery (same as Jessica on her "donor") - unless it was that time of the month and the episode was written by Anne Rice (Lestat did just that same thing), he wouldn't get much from her vagina.

The vampire with the kid was that skeevy nurses aide who kept eating the babies. I guess a 6 year old is a step up from a baby... but that guy needs to die soon. Why would they waste the precious Lilith blood on that moron?

JD needs to be flat-out roll-stomped by Alcide. Giving V to Emma?!?! I'm sorry, but V or no V, a guy built like Alcide would fricking destroy that fat redneck.

This season is showing us how a group of vampire fanatics is using their "scripture" to justify treating humans in horrifying ways, and behave like animals themselves.

It's probably also a deliberate subversion. The Sanguinistas are fanatics but they're doing just the same thing more honest vampires (Russel) have been doing for centuries. As a Medieval Historian (in my real life) I always point out the Crusades involved religion and so did the Inquisition but they also involved land, wealth, and politics.

Russel is just going with it because it's the party line.
