I looked for a thread and couldn't find one anywhere.

Sheen stars as "Charlie," a non-traditional therapist specializing in anger management. He has a successful private practice, holding sessions with his group of primary patient regulars each week, as well as performing pro bono counseling for an inmate group at a state prison.

This was so bad, an hour long show that couldn't have been whittled down to about 15 minutes.

Did anyone else notice/find it odd that his patient, his daughter, and a random girl in a bar kinda all looked alike?

It took me a few minutes before I realized that was Kerri Kenney playing the....stalker or whatever character that was. No matter what she's in, I still see Trudy from Reno 911.

Charlie Sheen is just so easy to watch. His comedic timing is impeccable. Some of the writing was corny, not as sharp as 2 1/2. Definitely give it another go.

I find that while the writing could be better, the cast is really good. They all seem too have decent to good comedic timing and that makes it fun to watch for me. I will most likely keep weatching.

I was never really a 2 1/2 Men watcher. I've seen a few episodes though. Charlie is definitely THE SHOW (or was I should say) on 2 1/2 Men. His personality is just overwhelming. So much that this show kind of reminds me of it. That, or he's just That important. I watched a few episodes of 2 1/2 last season and it just wasn't the same without him. Glad the ratings are dipping for it. This show is pretty good. Haven't seen part 2 yet though but it's definitely off to a potentially great start.

I'll give it another few episodes. I agree that Sheen's timing is amazing, and there's just something about him that makes me laugh. Hopefully once we get beyond all the new series exposition stuff we'll see what Sheen et al can pull off with a smaller budget. Was that Maurice from Northern Exposure? I think it was!

I caught this by accident and wondered why Charlie was having therapy sessions in his living room and why they never mentioned him having a daughter before to Alan or Berta.

I liked it. Will watch again. It's got potential.

I would watch Charlie read the phone book. Do they even have those anymore?

And that's Patrick from Men in Trees. I guess they're partial to actors who starred in series set in Alaska.

The writing was really bad this week. I don't think Sheen alone can carry this show. The supporting cast is too weak. I don't like the old guy or the nerd guy. The required 'loose' girl might develop into something worth watching, but as of yet isn't showing anything. I like the guy from Men in Trees and the girlfriend. The wife and daughter are boring.

I kinda like it. I do like Charlie Sheen. He really DOES play the same character over and over and over.... But it seems to work. As said up thread - he does have great comedic "timing". I will watch it.

Thought it was a good show last night. It definitely has potential when they get all the kinks worked out. Will tune in again.

I can't sit thru an entire show. The writing is horrible, & while Charlie Sheen still has great timing, he looks horrible & I can't get past it. I just end up rolling my eyes at the predictable, stupid dialog & shaking my head at how he's destroyed his career & is undoubtedly killing himself. No, I am not Chuck Lorre LOL.

I like the show. It does need to work out a few kinks, but over all, I like it.

I was watching early episodes of ELR, and it took me a while to warm to the Barone's.

Charlie is very good at what he does.

Lordy, this is sooo funny. It's just Charlie's life plucked right from the headlines. Brilliant writing. Sheen is spot on as the lead character. He takes no prisoners.

Let's keep fingers crossed this one isn't lost in summer ratings doldrums. People need to see it once, and they're hooked. Selma Blair is worthy of praise too. Such a good actress.

I think it says a lot that this is still funnier than that other show that guy was on beforehands ;)

It does have its problems, too many stupid quick jokes with no set-ups, everyone is way too snarky, the storyline is not really believeable OR interesting and especially that third episode kinda left of nowhere...?

It's somehow funny, but it has room for improvement.

The show has definite potential. I found myself laughing heartily while watching both episodes. I thought all the actors were very good and all had good comic timing. The writing needs some more work, but still it wasn't really bad. Charlie here is actually a little more sympathetic than the Charlie in "2 and 1/2 Men". I think that's a very good thing.

I did find the show enjoyable. I'll continue to watch.

By the way, I recognize this actor that plays Charlie's neighbor who use to be in Spin City. It's funny to see both actors in another show again.

Much, much better this week. It had some really good moments. I'm still concerned about the weakness of the supporting cast. They really should give more time to the guy from Men in Trees.

Maybe it was because I was a little bit drunk, but I laughed throughout the last episode. It's not Shakespear, hell, it's probably several monkeys typing for a long while, but it's funny. Definately a guilty pleasure...

It could just be me but the less clothes Selma Blair wears the more I like this show. So this was my favorite episode so far. :)

Despite its flaws, I am also enjoying this show way more than I expected to.

My original reaction to Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair as a pairing was "wha?" but they have surprisingly good chemistry and good comic timing with each other. I know that if the show continues, they'll eventually get them together, or have one of them fall for the other or some such, but I hope they hold off for as long as possible. I like the therapist/sex buddy thing they have, and I like the character of Kate -- nice to see a female character on this kind of sitcom who enjoys casual sex without being portrayed as an idiot, a tramp or somehow morally deficient (though plenty of others on the show seem to fit that description).

Today's was the first episode I started to warm to some of the members of the therapy group. Or at least, I think the chick and the gay guy (too many characters, I can't remember any of their names) are good actors and may end up having more depth than just the single-joke schticks they had in episode one. Old guy and timid guy I'm less sure about. Old guy has more potential for a slightly more fleshed out character, though.

If it were me, I'd thin the herd by ditching the ex wife (I like Shawnee Smith a lot, but I really don't think her character adds anything; Kate already works as his sounding board and they don't have any real conflict), the daughter (I could otherwise see where there'd be room for tension there, or to show another side to Charlie, but she always seems like an afterthought, both to the him as a character and to the writers), the neighbor and the prison stuff (which seems to be back next week), and just keep it Charlie, Kate, the group and his shag of the week. That's enough for at least three storylines per episode.

so, the rumors are that it will be picked up for the 90 episodes that the 10/90 deal explores. the other rumor is that martin sheen will be a full time cast member. Either way i expect too be happy. Every episode it seems to get better. I'm thrilled with that. Other shows get worst, even the newer shows it seem episode to episode.this has not. I'm really happy with what this has become.

I'm enjoying this show with Charlie. It's nice to see him playing a father (has he ever done so before?) to a teen daughter. My husband thinks he's kind of playing a very similar role as he did on TAAHM, but I see it as a different character. Now it is possible that he's indeed playing a version of himself but I'm okay with that. Bill Murray and Woody Allen have always done this and it's been entertaining to watch.

This show really is getting better each week. I'm liking it more and more. I still think they need a couple more strong actors/actresses. The wife and daugnter actresses just aren't coming across with any likeabiity. The old guy, too.

But, in general, I like it and will continue to watch. The jokes this past episode were actually witty at times!

I just realized why Shawnee Smith probably got the role as the ex wife. The same company that produces the Saw movies co produces Anger Management. It all makes sense now. Not saying that I don't like her but it's just something I noticed on the credits.

Loved tonights episode with Martin Sheen. Charlie looked rough, but damn, I can't help myself, I just love the guy.

Martin will be a nice addition to the cast. I'll look forward to his episodes. I liked that his charachter was "Evelynnesque".

Martin Sheen did a great job. What's weird for me is that I like most of the characters - except for the therapy group. They're just not nearly as grounded as Charlie, his ex-wife, his daughter, Selma Blair and now his dad.

What's funny about the show is that they seem quite willing to constantly tinker with it, so maybe we'll see even more spotlight on his personal life.
