Really funny movie. Like a live action Family Guy, except it's actually funny.

One thing I'll say is that Fenway Park is a GREAT location for a scene.

I saw it last night and thought it was pretty funny. I was afraid it was going to be like an episode of "Family Guy", but it wasn't. Ted was a character in his own right, even if he sounded like Peter Griffin.

I loved Mila Kunis and Mark Wahlberg together; I thought they had great chemistry. I also liked the fact that Lori wasn't some shrill, ball-busting nag like she would have been in, say, a Judd Apatow movie. She was just a regular girl who needed her man to be there for her, and told him so. That was refreshing.

Agreed. The Lori character held her own in the movie and wasn't an annoying buzzkill.

I also thought it was pretty good. From the moment I heard the narration by Patrick Stewart I had a feeling that it would be money well spent. The major surprise for me was Mark Walhberg being in a comedic role in the first place. To me, prior to this, the idea of him being in a major comedy movie was like, well, Hilary Clinton in a mini skirt.

I saw it. It wasn't as good as American Dad, but it was way funnier than Family Guy has been in the last four years. I loved it!

Highlights:

* Mark Wahlberg being hilarious. I loved him in The Other Guys, so I'm glad he's doing other comedy movies.

* The Thunder Buddy song

* What the hookers did inside the apartment. That was so horrible and disgusting, and God help me I laughed my ass off.

* Ted repeatedly insulting his boss and doing horrible things at work, only to get promoted for it.

* The Flash Gordon references, because my brother and I have been watching Flash Gordon a lot lately. And the cameo of Sam Jones himself! God, I know it's been 20 years, but platinum blond doesn't look that great on a 50-year-old guy.

* The whole party sequence, and the not-so-subtle Family Guy reference of Ted claming he doesn't sound like Peter Griffin. Not to mention him using the Stewie voice at the aquarium.

* Patrick Stewart narrating. I don't know what Seth pays him to say all those crazy things, but whatever it is should be doubled. The best part was at the end when he said that Sam Jones was living in an apartment with Brandon Routh "from that godawful Superman movie. Seriously, thanks for raising our hopes and taking a giant shit on them!" GOLD!

It did wear a little thin and get more than a little stupid at the end, but all in all, not bad Seth. Now if you could only pick up the pace on Family Guy...

See, that's really strange because I thought he sounded more like Brian.

It definitely felt like a Family Guy movie to me, not to say it didn't have its funny moments. Wahlberg was funny, but it was hard for to buy him physically as a 35-year-old stoner. The guy clearly is in shape, but like I said, the performance was great. And Giovanni Ribsi definitely knows how to play creepy.

I can't believe that's Sam Jones. He looks much older than a man of 58 years old and he's the same age as my parents. I guess that is what happens when hard living catches up to you. I look at my parents and I say, "They could still pass for people younger than their ages." Sam looked so old in this with his platinum blonde hair, but it was interesting to see him. Whatever happened to Melody Anderson? It would have been fun to see her in a cameo as well.

I saw this tonight and thought it was hilarious. Mark W did a good job of selling the friendship with a bear. He's just so good at sincere.

Mila Kunis really was able to sell being gorgeous and dating a not wealthy stoner. Good for her. I got it even though at first I thought, "if I looked like her I would date someone who has their shit together." But they had good chemistry so I bought it.

This film has grossed $120 million already. Well-deserved.

Has anyone read the recent interview with Sam Jones where he talks about the film and what he's doing now?

Ted was very good. I really liked how they played Ted's presence in the world. I enjoyed Seth's foray into movies even though I did recognize the New Jersey woman orgasm schtick from an episode of Family Guy but other than that the humor didn't feel like microwaved leftovers from an episode of the show.

Mila is pretty good playing the "guys girl" role, so kudos to her for being able to make Lori a relatable character and not a shrill put upon girlfriend similar to the before mention Apatow movies. Also to McFarlene for not going that route and writing her likeable.

I adored "The Other Guys" and would love to see more of Mark Wahlberg in comedies.

Which was surprising, considering that Seth MacFarlane is behind the bitch queen Lois Griffin. Then again, he has also created the awesomeness that is Francine Smith, so a mixed bag...

The only thing I didn't like about Lori was that she actually went to the concert with her sleazy boss. And yes, it was partially just to get him to leave her alone for good, but you shouldn't give in even remotely to people that are harrassing you, even if you just broke up with your boyfriend. But at least she told him to back off for good when he was trying to manipulate her after John's failed romantic gesture.

I also liked that she was the one that wished Ted back to life. I get the feeling she felt guilty about the whole thing, because for all of Ted's horrible behavior, he was her friend too (kind of) and I don't think she ever really wanted to make John choose between his best friend and his girlfriend -- not the extreme where Ted would be gone for good anyway.

I saw this on DVD a couple of weeks ago - funny, but also Oscar-nominated. The Norah Jones song is nominated for Best Original Song.
