ETA: I just caught where they asked the girls if there were any black people in Jersey Shore and JWoww said "No...it's mostly like families...family oriented." Like uh...what's THAT supposed to mean? LOL! The VJ next to her handled that well. I don't think she meant it that way but...or at least I hope she didn't mean anything by it.

I've seen maybe 2-3 episodes of JS (although I turned 2 of them off half-way).I've only ever watched a single episode of Jersey Shore, so I never saw what these two do usually but all in all I think they are relatively harmless and nice though dim. I did think Snooki's parents were cool. I'm bad at being an MTV 24 year old.
I think its hilarious that they're putting them in Jersey City--which is totally too grown up a place for these two. They'd be a lot more appropriate up the river a bit in Hoboken. Lets just say its FAR more of a party town, whereas Jersey City is rich townhouses, even richer high-rises, financial buildings aplenty, some sophisticated shopping, a bunch of hotels for business travelers, and a lot of ethnic (non-Italian, I mean) neighborhoods.
EDIT - Oh this is hilarious. I typed that THEN went to look at the wikipedia page for the show:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snooki_%26_JWoww
The production initially sought to film in Hoboken, New Jersey, but were denied a permit.
and a bit more (humorous) detail:
An invitation to the crew to film in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania was later rescinded by Central Pennsylvania Film Office following a public outcry.[5] Eventually a former firehouse[6][7] at 38 Mercer Street at Grove Street in Jersey City, New Jersey was chosen as the filming location.[8] The property was be guarded at all times by at least four Jersey City police officers, who also followed the cast and crew when leaving the home, conditions to which producers were required to agree in order to be granted a shooting permit. The conditions also indicated that the police would take action, including on the cast, if any state or city laws were broken, and that producers would reimburse the city for any increase in police presence or similar costs that might have occurred due to events related to the production.[6][8]
Prior to filming, several businesses in the area, including the bars Skinner's Loft, Barcade and LITM, denied filming permits to MTV, which The Jersey Journal reported was due to their the need to make their regular customers a priority. In addition, a "No Snooki" sign was posted in the window of a liquor store around the corner from the firehouse,[5] whose general manager stated that either of the two women would be turned away if they attempted to patronize that establishment. The Beechwood Cafe and Market, across the street from the firehouse, also indicated they would not let the two in their restaurant.[9] Tia's Place, a trendy clothing store on Grove Street, also declined filming because that store's contract prohibits it.[10] The week Polizzi and Farley moved into their home, Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker denied filming permits to the production company, stating in a letter printed by the Newark Star-Ledger, "While we appreciate your desire to film and capture the essence of our great city, we are confident that the filming of this show will most certainly attract a high level of local and national attention and notoriety." Booker explained his decision by saying that he did not wish the city's emergency personnel to devote its time to handling incidents involving the reality stars.[5] Other businesses, however, were more welcoming to the production, including O'Connell's Bar & Grill on Montgomery Street, Walker's Apothecary, a spa and nail salon near the apartment, and Bar Majestic on Grove Street.[10]

I doubt she's racist. I know she has a few good friends who are black.
I liked it. It's harmless, entertaining and as long as it's not too much Snooki, I'll continue to watch. As a fan of Jenni and Roger, I'm not looking forward to their fighting, though, haha. But they're still together, so whatever.
She wants a "last hurrah"? WTF? What has the Jersey Shore been?
Well, it's the pilot, is she supposed to say, "Well, MTV wants this spin-off to be just us, that's why we're moving to an apartment MTV picked out for us and pretend to look for apartments"? It's all a set-up episode, I don't mind it. I like their friendship. And while it's unrealistic that Jionni or Roger would tolerate their plan to have one last hurrah in real life, it's a different story if it's their job.
Anyway, since I've come to really dislike Snooki in the last two seasons of JS, I'm actually relieved she'll be her sober, stupid, fun self in this one and I always thought their friendship was really genuine in season 1-3. Then Snooki got the boyfriend and became too arrogant for me. Obviously, people who love to watch JS to see stupid chicks hook up with MVP for their 5-second fame won't be interested in this show. But with this focusing on their friendship, I know I'm gonna like it. It's already better than Pauly's show - for me - because it's only focused on their 6 weeks of living in Jersey City instead of Pauly's scattered show and weird editing.

I don't think she is, whether or not she "has black friends". But it was such a weird thing to say after that, and I'm glad the VJ responded as he did.

Its true. Nobody in that area calls Jersey City (or even Newark) "the City". That's reserved for New York city (and not even all of it, just Manhattan). Why are they saying "city" like they are moving to NYC?
That "has black friends" defense never sounds that great, even when its true. In her defense its probably that MTV are the ones to blame somehow, since black people onscreen don't fit the, ehem... "image" they want to peddle as the world of Jersey Shore. You know the one. Where every person speaks with THAT accent, has an orange tan, is loud, obnoxious, promiscuous, and kind of dimwitted.I doubt she's racist. I know she has a few good friends who are black.
And you just know that somehow they're now gonna remake Jersey City, one of the most multi-ethnic places anywhere, into something entirely different.

A lot of racists use that excuse. lol. "I'm not racist, my best friend is black!!" Or rather, people who don't think they are racist because they don't belong to the KKK but tell "jokes" instead. I thought the answer was strange and even if she meant it in a benign way I think it just shows she's ignorant (as in, unless their last name is Huxtable, blacks can't be wholesome and family oriented!). I don't think JWoww is a "hater", but as someone else mentioned, the response likely came from whatever image MTV wanted as well as, IMO, her own latent beliefs.

lol, oops. My guess was that she was trying to say that there aren't just guys to bring home to in Seaside but families as well. As in, "there's more to Seaside" - awful timing, though, I agree. The thing is, I have almost no clue about political correctness and I think it can be quite annoying. I can't see her even thinking that black families aren't family-oriented. It seemed like their typical thing to say now that Snooki is pregnant. In lots of interviews, they've defended Snooki returning for season 6 by saying Seaside is very family-oriented. I don't know. I didn't think much of her comment. That's why I could never be in the public eye, though.

I don't know. "Political correctness" is about respecting those people who some might consider the "other." I don't know why JWOWW couldn't manage that.

Whose house was that where Jwoww was in the big kitchen with Roger? Hers?
What did she do to her face and mouth?

Something happened to it, but she denies it. She looks like a freak.

And I can't believe what Jenni has done to her face. She's really hard to look at sometimes and it's sad to see her face look so waxy at the mere age of 28. The fact that she still denies having had anything done is even sadder.

IIRC, it was the non-title characters that made Laverne and Shirley a good show and you saw them all the time without them being roommates. Is Roger supposed to be Lenny, Squiggy, or the Big Ragu?I know MTV is pitching this as a modern day Laverne and Shirley but can they reconceptualize the series as a modern take on Three's Company so we can add Roger as a roommate?

Her and Roger's. They bought it before she left for Italy.

Well that comment may actually prove that she doesn't see color when looking at people because what she stated is not true of Seaside. Her and her "type" are actually a minority there. But I guess to MTV that doesn't make good tv.

Guess they're pretty serious!
Yep. I feel like Roger's just waiting for Jersey Shore to be over to propose or whatever. He just turned 37 and Jenni has confirmed that he wants to start a family sooner rather than later, so they're probably just waiting to see what happens with JS before they get even more serious, haha.

That's actually what I thought because her comment didn't even strike me as odd until the guy asked if black people don't have families. That's when I went, 'Ohh, riiight. That could have come off weird.'

Big Roger and Jenni fan here (and I always liked Jenni and Snooki's friendship although it did seem as if Snooki let fame get to her head in season 4 and 5 of JS), so this show is another guilty pleasure. Jionni seems eh so far, though. I think he's a nice guy but pretty boring.

How sweet that Snooki's reaction to seeing the ultrasound of her baby was, "Ew."

Roger looks like the kind of guy whose mugshot you're bound to see sooner or later. I'm going with pervy coach secretly taping students. Ick. I think he's gross. And Jionni (sp) is just a fat little troll. Oh wait, so is his girlfriend. IMO
