Someone please tell me I'm not the only TWOPer watching CMT's version of Survivor. Stone Cold Steve Austin as the host. Contestants from southern states only. Two people carted off for medical reasons in the first episode. At tribal council, the contestants write their votes on beer cans instead of paper. The first reward challenge was for a porta-pottie. The other team - or tribe - must content themselves with using the "poop log" and covering their excrement with sand. I cannot make this up. This is true summer television.

I was just waiting for someone else to start the thread :)))))))

My reaction to the guy who almost got voted off, waxing poetic about how awesome and smart he was throughout the show...

Can you please explain your hairstyle?

My reaction to SA "questioning the heart" of the guy who withdrew...

I question your wisdom of casting a person who is overweight & a severe diabetic in the first place. [for this particular show]

I say this as a gay man who believes people should be who they are...

I mean no offense to the guy cast but couldn't SA have cast a gay man who hunted, fished, etc?

Did they actually have to drink the beer before they voted?

OMG, you guys. I never even heard about this show, but seeing this thread, I immediately had to go to the website and watch the first episode. Comedy gold! It was like watching my family at a cookout. I think I'm in love. There were so many classic lines spoken that I wish now I'd written them down. I do wish that Eric had gotten voted off, but it'll be fun watching him being such a clueless loser for another week at least.

All the time they put into making the raft, then taking it out into the waves...we were laughing our asses off. The challenges have been fun to watch. They seem to be very fragile, with 3 people with injuries the first 2 weeks.

Three people injured in three days. Two people med evaced out in the first episode. Finding buried cans in the sand with metal detectors. What's not to love?

This show is my new guilty pleasure. At least all of them seem to be having fun, right up until they get injured.

This show is fun because Survivor seems to be all serious all the time. The "Dolly Pardon" singer wasn't very good. You could just feel the torture that her captive audience was going through

I saw a review were the reviewer was bitching that these contestants weren't 'real rednecks', whatever the hell that means. But my opinon is, who gives a shit? These people are fun to watch, and this show is pure crack. I'd love to be Teri's BFF. Catherine naming every damned animal she comes across - dead or alive - makes me laugh every. single. time. In short, I love this show.

Hey, CBS-- Someone else ripped off another one of your shows (and did a much better job of it) !

Full disclosure: I am neither a redneck nor live in the south.

Fun cast, fun challenges, and over all, just plain fun to watch. Being a reality junkie, this may be the fix I need.

Combining the reward/challenge (substitute reward/tribal) is a great idea (I'm looking at you Survivor).

Thanks for starting this thread Melancholiac, I've found my reality show for the summer.

lol SP23.You should listen to Jeff Foxworthy's routine about rednecks. You will get a clear picture of what a redneck is and laugh your ass off. These contestants aren't "rednecks" in the purest form but they all have a few of the "redneck" traits.

Oh, hoosiermom, my family is full of rednecks. I just wasn't sure what the hell that reviewer was whining about. Not all rednecks have cars sitting on blocks in their front yards. Don't mean they ain't rednecks. LOL

This show is my new summer guilty pleasure. I quit watching Survivor several years ago as the contestants and challenges became boring and predictable. I would get my trash TV fix from MTV Challenge shows but those contests all became so unlikeable that I couldn't stand to watch them anymore. These contestants are fun. They are out to win but they seem to enjoy hanging out together for the most part. Besides, what other show do you see people leave to go fishing and come back with seagulls for dinner or catch lizards for dinner with duct tape on a stick, lol.

I have to reiterate, this show is rather pleasant to watch. They compete yet get along in their little village they seem to have strategy down pretty good too. Loved when Eric got his comeuppence! "I have all the power, I am the swing vote".......and is voted out.

It's funny that these people seem to forget that this show is a 'COMPETITION for $100,000. You can be BFF all you want to but you and everyone else on this show signed up because you wanted to WIN! So, if someone looks you in the face and tell you. "no, i'll never write your name on the can'"

They are probably/most likely lying.

Do they have anything else to drink besides beer?

I haven't seen them drink anything else. What I found interesting was in the first few episodes, nothing was done to hide the brand of beer they were drinking (Miller Lite). Then in the next few challenges, the label was changed to a generic blue beer can. Then, in this episode, when the beer was sent down to them after the fish, it was back to Miller again. I think possibly they tried to get Miller to be a sponser, then said the heck with it.

You can be BFF all you want to but you and everyone else on this show signed up because you wanted to WIN!

I agree. But if those three were supposedly all good friends (as the show seemed to indicate), why didn't the three of them each write one of each other's names, then go to the tie breaker (whatever that might be--haven't seen one yet) and let the chips fall where they may?

My dh said that they should have written their own names on the cans and then they would have gone to a tie breaker, eliminating having to vote anyone out.

Damn! if I have to listen to Catherine's voice for much longer, I am going to scream. She was stupid to vote off Teri because Cayton is more of a threat of winning it all.

What happens to Pearl after it's over? lol

Well it's down to the final three. *crickets*

Anyone else catch this last night?

I thought this might be the first and last season, but during the broadcast last night they had information on how to apply to be on next season. There must be a larger audience for this than I thought.

I like how they all aren't overly into winning that when they are off they go balistic. I like them when they fool around between competitions......I just like them.

Well congrats to Jennifer, but I don't believe she played the most honest game. She did end up betraying two people in the end. All in all though, good show, without the backstabbing of Survivor.

Yeah Jennifer!!

I liked how it was a competition till the end. No voting, you have to win, to win. It was a nice break from Survivor, which we all know how that is played. Loved how they were friends at the beach and enemies only during the competitions. I will watch next season.
