Next time you're out shopping, watch out! HGTV's Room Crashers is in stores across America, looking for unsuspecting homeowners who could definitely use some help with their home improvement projects. Once he finds his target, designer/contractor (and former Design Star finalist) Todd Davis follows the surprised shoppers home and completely transforms their dull bland rooms into stunning eye-popping showpieces.

Didn't see a thread for this yet.

I find Todd so obnoxious. While I would love to get a room redone I would have a hard time dealing with him. He breaks stuff just because, he climbs things, stands on your furniture and does an exaggerated stoner surfer dude schtick that is beyond annoying. Josh on House Crashers is full of energy but I'd let him in my house. This guy, not so much.

Oh, so he is a surfer:

In addition to being an athlete, surfer and runner-up from season two of HGTV Design Star, Todd Davis also owns a design business. He describes himself as "smart, hyper-creative, dynamic and very opinionated" and says he can "build anything from chicken wire and lint in a timely fashion." Todd, who holds a degree in landscape architecture from the College of Architecture and Environmental Design from California Polytechnic University, is unafraid to make his presence and opinions known and admits that his sometimes adventurous design style reflects his risk-taking personality.

I catch the errant episode during my Sunday morning breakfast and web surfing time, the TV just stays on HGTV for a few hours. I couldn't imagine actually looking forward to this show or setting it on my DVR.

I'd almost rather watch The Antonio Project.

If anyone cares, Todd was hired as a host only, not a designer, on RC. If you watch closely, you'll see the local/background designer listed on the plan shown to the participants. In addition, the actual designer(s) is/are also listed in the closing credits. Apparently, HGTV only wanted him for that sparkling personality (haha). He shows up and says his lines, period. BTW, the store scenes are staged - I'm sure that doesn't surprise anyone.

Todd's business only offers landscape design.

I found an article that explains Todd's background:
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2007/07/28/HOOGR8DIV2.DTL
Seems he had a head and arm injury which ended his extreme sports career. I think that also explains his personality.

I haven't seen too many episodes that I like. The one that stands out to me is this one:

This dark and cluttered upstairs master bedroom doesn't reflect the homeowners' bohemian and artistic style. By ripping out a dilapidated covered balcony, adding a 10-foot bi-fold door, and building a sustainable open balcony with metal mesh railings allows natural light to pour in and provides views to a lush backyard. Adding a colorful & abstract landscape mural, crochet t-shirt rug, and reclaimed wood doors on a track system help to bring the outdoors in. Placing the bed in the middle of the room with a custom headboard with storage, eliminates the need for extra furniture and makes the space feel bigger and airier.

Which is where these 2 dog walkers somehow have a fantastic townhouse in prime SF. He does a hideous green wave mural on the wall and has the female homeowner knit a rug out of green t-shirts. It truly was an ugly room.

Interestingly, they don't feature any photos from that design on the episode guide. Maybe I'm not the only one who thought it was ugly!

Funny, I haven't seen hardly any RC episodes but I do remember catching parts of that one, including the reveal. ITA, it was a disjointed mess with strange space planning. Well, they basically use a different designer for every episode so at least Todd can always explain that he wasn't responsible.

Did they own the entire house or just one floor? I missed the very beginning.

I'd almost rather watch The Antonio Project.

No. Just...no.

This. I go out of my way to change the channel when this show comes on. I can't stand the chick from Kitchen Crashers, either.

House Crashers, Yard Crashers, and Bath Crashers are all okay though.

Glory...I so agree, I dislike Kitchen Crasher and Room Crashers with a passion, the host make me ill. Why must they be so obnoxious? I know Josh is an acquired taste but I personally love him, and with Ahmed gone, he is my new Fav Crasher
