I'm starting to love Emily! Girl does not waste time. I only wish she had sent Ryan home, I can't stand the arrogant way he carries himself.

Emily's friends were hilarious, they made me like Emily better just to know she hangs out with them.

Dainty Ari for the win.

Ari seems to be the one to beat. I like Sean after this episode. Ryan lost me after the getting fat after marriage comments, he was "joking" but he seems pretty egotistical.

I don't think Allesandro has watched the show before, dude didn't even try to bullsh*t.

I give credit to Emily for wanting the best, but I get the impression she is very spoiled and takes being treated royally for granted. Good luck after the honeymoon stage wears off and the guy starts to get comfortable. ;)

Oh Kalon, I do love you! No, Emily, he wasn't being condescending; he was very politely telling you to STFU and let someone else talk for a change! Loved it! Glad someone told her where to go. It is not an "honour" (your favourite word) just to be in your oh-so-fake presence!

Seriously. Has a suitor ever gotten the glow-y romance camera this early in the game? And Emily even said something like "I found a great guy, now I just have to try not to screw it up"... which seems very definitive after 3 episodes. But he really is a terrible dancer.

I wasn't a Ryan fan anyway, but that was unreal. I can't believe she didn't send Kalon home after their conversation. He is SO a producer plant. When she said he was "geniune", I nearly died from laughing.

I still love Doug, but maybe not as much for her as for myself. As of right now, I want her to choose Arie.

Emily's friend Wendy earned my undying love for coercing Sean to take his shirt off. He's been my favorite since day one, and impressed me even more tonight. He's calm, sweet, and a good kisser. Loving me some blond Adonis right now.

Speaking of good kissers, Emily and Arie have got it going on. I liked their conversation on their date, and I found myself grinning like crazy during the Dolly Parton concert. I don't even like country music, but Dolly makes everything awesome.

I'm not sure any contestant has ever fallen so far so fast in my estimation as Ryan, but everything out of his mouth tonight made me want to slap him.

Alessandro is such an idiot. Such a clueless idiot. But at least he's honest!

Did anyone notice all Em's girlfriends were older and less attractive than Emily? And judgey bitches to boot.

so happy Allesandro and Stevie are gone. Absolutely hated the Dollywood segment, but it did put Arie in a very good light. If I were Em I would just send all these dolts home and just go for Arie. Just putting up with Dolly Parton was an amazing feat. Her gigantic boobs almost made Emily look flat.

Did anyone count how many times Emily said "y'all"? It must have been around 50 easy. I blame Dollywood (and Dolly).

At this point I am watching the show only to mock it. I don't give a crap about Emily or Ricki or anything about this stupid show.

Glad to see the back of Tony and all his ridiculous drama. Honestly, dude, you're famewhoring on a reality show, not stationed in Afghanistan, and your kid is at home with your family, not dying in a hospital. If you're that stressed out and heartbroken, pack up and go. Good for Emily for making it happen.

Both Ryan and Kalon are starting to give off a really creepy vibe to me. And despite his assurances that he knew what he was saying, I still think Alessandro didn't have the definition of "compromise" completely clear. Sounded as if he thought it meant "sacrifice." But in either event, it wouldn't have suited Emily, who seems to think that for a man, taking on her and her child is the equivalent of being crowned King of the World. Or at least, she wants a man who thinks that way.

Whatever. She's very telegenic, anyway.

Ari is seriously adorable. Sweet but not syrupy, confident but not arrogant. He seems to be eclipsing the others right now.

I mean, Sean checks all her boxes but I think she might prefer someone who can be a bad boy?

Oh, and I flove Dolly Parton. She's a pistol and she still sounds like Heaven. Their date was the best date I've seen on this show in ages, even if Dollywood is pretty silly. They have chemistry in spades.

Yeah. I thought he might be overdoing it to impress Emily about how much he cares for his child. If so, it backfired.

Too much of this season is centered around Ricki in some way. It’s getting nauseating.

I also wonder about the veracity of Ari’s story re: ex gf who didn’t want kids.

So. true. I think Emily is going about this with a clearheadness that I have never seen in a Bachelor or Bachelorette in umpteen seasons but there's something that's becoming unappealing about it. It's like she's seeking out the man that will be at her beck and call for the rest of her life and she does give off a sense of entitlement. I'm not going to say that she won't find that man (although I don't know about finding it through this process) because I know several women that have husbands that treat them like that but it's not that fun to watch. I will say that she came across as the most genuine with Arie. I think he has this in the bag...she may have chemistry with a few other guys but she's super into Arie and unless he does or says something to turn things around, I'm pretty sure it'll be him at the end.

That said, I am looking forward to the date with Sean. I'm not usually into blondes but something about that guy is sexy. If it wasn't for the religious thing, I'd be kind of interested in him for myself! I'm also looking forward to the date with Jef to see how their chemistry plays out. Ryan has fallen far and fast...just goes to show how quickly you can go from hot to not.

I know it's early in the season and things can change radically but, having said that, I can't imagine her choosing anyone but Arie. He seems like a sweet, nice, genuine guy, the chemistry is clearly there, and I think his occupation is really the trump card. Not only is it familiar and attractive to Emily, but she is cool with the travel schedule and having her own space. Did you see Arie's face light up when she said that? It just feels like a done deal to me.

I'm sorry, I can't stop laughing at the impromptu dance party with all the women, clearly pulled in off the street, dancing while still wearing their purses on their shoulders.

The whole premise of this show is still redonk, but at least there are some IRL date questions being asked. I don't remember any B or B-ette asking anyone their age -- on camera at least -- but that struck me as something that someone would ask on a first date if they didn't already know.

Oh, and it's SO going to be Arie.

My favourite part tonight was right after Emily blew the whistle to summon the kids onto the group date. The guys reacted by cheering (weird), and one of the guys let out a big creepy, "YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, we get to play with some kids we've never seen before...let me at them!"

Emily's friend Wendy talked out of just one side of her mouth and lacked Emily's superficial qualities, but she had the charismatic personality I wish Emily (or any other Bachelorette lead) would have.

Jef's hair makes me want to punch him.

Emily spends way too much time talking about Ricki. Of course any guy she is serious about has to be accepting of a child, but to expect a 25-29 year old single man to say he will be the greatest father who ever lived is just inviting dishonesty. Most of these guys don't know anything about being a parent. Emily should look for someone who she loves and who can grow to love Ricki. You can't become a fantastic dad, overnight with a six year old. I think a honest answer would be: I'm not a father so I would have a lot to learn, but I would accepting of your child and love her as much as I love you in time. Anything else is bull.

I think Emily seems to like the guys who aren't as in to her rather than the other way around. To me, her date with Arie looked one sided on her part, he seemed a little interested, but not all over her. She also seems to like Jef who looks about 16 and pays almost no attention to her at all.

Even though Alessandro was unclear (and unattractive), the rose ceremony was like 5 minutes away, why couldn't she just not give him a rose. As always, I am surprised to see her handing out roses to guys she has never spoken to (on TV anyway).
Other random comments: I Still think Ryan is hot even though he a bit too much with everything.

She said they were all moms. No way all her BFFs that are her age from high school/college have kids yet. I pegged these women as more like the moms of playdate/neighborhood/daycare children that she's gotten to know or maybe friends of the family.

And how I read that convo was that Kalon kept cutting her off. And he was channeling Jude Law but in kind of a creepy The Talented Mr. Ripley kind of way. Gawd, I hate that douche. Kalon, not Jude Law.

What the hell was she wearing on her feet when she walked Assandro out? She had ditched her heels and looked like she was wearing black socks or surf booties or something.

She and Arie already look like a couple. I think it's going to be really hard to keep up the "Oh, no, I don't know who to choose" pretense.

Ryan looks like a serial killer. A good looking serial killer but a serial killer.

"[Allesandro,] you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

Muppets then Dolly Parton? Emily may be dull (fascinatingly flirty, but still dull), but at least the guest stars are awesome so far!

Arie is adorable and seems interesting and sincere, including his past role as surrogate dad for his gf's kids. But I don't see him winding up with Emily--yes, she's classically pretty, and all the guys are seeing her as a catch now, but she just doesn't seem smart enough or interesting enough for him, Arie. He seems to have a bit more on the ball than Emily whose claim to "being interesting" seems to be encapsulated in "I'm a mom to Ricki". JMO, but her lack of knowledge or interests (we didn't even see anything about racing, though maybe I missed it).

This show is turning into daddy bootcamp. I understand she needs to find a guy that can be involved in her daughter's life, but seriously, thats not the way to go about doing it. And it also creeps me out when the guys are all like, "I want to be Rickis father blah blah blah." First of all you don't know the kid, second of all ummm SHE HAD A FATHER who tragically passed away, no one should be trying to replace that! But it seems like thats all they want, and thats what Emily seems to want also. Gross.

And really, with Kalon? He straight up told her that hes a controlling man and then he showed her that he is by telling her to shut up. Even before he told her to stop talking, he wouldn't even let her say things like, aww and thank you, he kept raising his voice and talking over her. I was sure she would have gotten rid of him for that conversation. Does she really want a man like that around her daughter? Imagine if her daughter ever interrupted him (as kids often do) what would he have said to her?

And yeah those moms are definitely not her "close friends." Probably just soccer moms she met through Ricki.

This show is getting so disgusting to me. And all those fake scenes when she is at home with her mom or daughter. COME ON tell me thats not completely staged. They are trying to give her this image that is just not accurate. Annoying.

Find it hard to believe those much older women are truly Emily's best friends

I don't find it hard to believe at all. I met my best friend when both our daughters were two years old through our husbands who had a mutual hobby. I had my daughter late in life, after my husband and I had been together for 11 years. She had her daughter as a young bride at 19. We've been inseperable for years, vacationed together, constantly at each other's homes, and speak on the phone several times a day. Our daughters are best friends as well, went to preschool together, went on to the same grade school together, middle school together, high school together, and are now both in college. I don't think age determines who your best friends can be. I think it's compatibility in personality and interests, and if those mothers have children close to Ricki's age there is no reason why they couldn't be best friends. I don't really think any of them looked older than early 30s. I'd be willing to bet they're all within 5-8 years older than Emily, which is a smaller gap than my best friend and I.

Emily and Arie definitely seem to have a big connection right now, but I don't think he's our winner. My vote is for Sean. My gut says he and Emily have a stronger bond in the end.

Emily was less annoying to me this episode. I actually quite liked her decisiveness, and the lack of apologizing/weeping when she sent someone home. She seems to make choices and own them, without all of the second guessing and histrionics of some previous Bachelorettes. I'll take that over the fakey, baby-voice Southern princess thing any day.

This. I am sick of Emily talking like taking on her and her child is some kind of great gift she will bestow upon the right man. The guys who act like the already adore Ricki are as fake as Emily. The relationship between the adults has to come first. Then the daughter comes into it, and if she really lives with the grandparents most of the time, it's not nearly the issue they're making out. Once a man loves Emily, he will learn to love her daughter, not the other way around.

I also thought a guy's ability to play with a bunch of strange kids like a playground monitor tells us absolutely nothing about his ability to develop a special one-on-one relationship with her daughter. I would hate being a playground monitor with a bunch of kids I don't know, but I love my son fiercely. And a lot of young guys can play with kids for an hour in front of the camera, but that's a far cry from parenting them every day.

True, compromise may not have been the right word, but it IS a compromise to become a dad, even if it's your own. Your life is no longer just your own.

So glad the crybaby left. He was annoying as heck.

ETA: That girlfriend who was flirting with Sean--ick. The man could become Emily's boyfriend, so just take a cold shower and shut it, bitch.
