Ugh.. I think some of these women meant to try out for the Bad Girls Club and ended up on this show instead. Just not feeling this season at all so far.

Thank goodness for the blur option or we'd all be blind from Credenza's butt crack when they got the rude awakening. :)

Highlights for me:

• The girl who said "I don't have a passport" when told they were going to Catalina Island

• Men drinking the scallop shakes. Glad to see food wasn't wasted. "Got Scallops?" moustache, LOL!!

• Oh my God! Oh my God!...... Roshni getting stuck in the middle of the zipline. It looked like Kimmie didn't get to run it.

• Was the pizza oven set on broil?

• Chris. stop . talking . please. I am sooooooo glad you're gone!!

Barbie must have had her eyes and part of her brain blown out on the zipline if she couldn't see the scallops were nowhere near the same color, etc. And dumb for listening to Tiffany tell her to pre-cook the fish. She should have said "no, we cook to order".... but no, Tiffany likes to see how many people she can throw under the bus. I often wonder if the waiters suggest scallops??

Super Mega Highlight.... ROYCE CRIED!!!!! LOLOLOLOL

Tiffany and Robyn are scary bullies. I would hate to meet either of them, even in daylight.

I love anchobie guy!!

Someone yesterday mentioned it would be smart for the chefs to use an oven thermometer. I did notice one sticking out, or attached somehow, to the pizza oven. So, no excuses, Don.

Why is Barbie the devil incarnate? I must of missed something because all I saw was Tiff acting like a nutcase. Breaking things and turning into the red version of the hulk. Her ass should have been sent home. That zipline looked like fun but 29 thousand feet? Er, no. More like a 200 feet!

I was confused by the Barbie hate, too. She messed up in the kitchen, but that's not hard to do on this show. Just about every chef has a bad night or two. Did I miss something where she was really unlikable or difficult to work with?

I don't know why I can't quit this show. It's the same every year, but I never get tired of hearing Gordon Ramsay scream, "It's raaaaaaaaaaw!"

The show is following the annoyingly familiar pattern of editing Barbie into this season's edition of the Angry Black Woman. She is picking up where Elise left off last season whether she wants to or not. That means that she will not be going home anytime soon, because the ABW formula is ratings gold in the world of reality TV.

As for Tiff the bully? She's not going anywhere either. Tiff and Barbie are a team. Tiff will be kept in the game to push Barbie's buttons and make damn sure she stays good and angry.

I hope you're wrong, because I like Barbie. Yeah, she messed up badly, and hopefully learned a lesson about listening to anything that comes out of Tiffany's mouth. Is Robyn trying to look like a gangsta in that hat?

Where the fuck did they find some of the women for the red team? The local women's prison? Barbie better pray she doesn't get shanked in the shower. I'm a bit curious to learn exactly what Barbie did to get these women so mad at her. She fucked up on the dinner service but she had help. Her teammate KNEW that she was supposed to have 10 not 8 scallops and just let her take them up front without a word. What kind of teamwork is that? Considering that three of the 6 scallop dishes that won them a trip to Catalina were Barbie's you'd think she'd get a little slack. Something else must be going on.

The show is following the annoyingly familiar pattern of editing Barbie into this season's edition of the Angry Black Woman.

Thank you. And half of the White women on the red team are way more 'ghetto' then Barbie has shown herself to be. Looks like Hell's Kitchen is trying to instigate its first hate crime.

Really?! Because, honestly I'm not getting "Angry Black Woman"... or "Angry Woman"... or even "Angry" from Barbie. To me, she's nothing like Elise. Nothing.

Sure, she didn't pitch-in much while digging for the scallops. But, I saw her helping one of the other ladies carry the heavy bucket of scallops into the kitchen. And she really is the reason they won the reward.

She screwed up cooking the scallops during dinner... but she was the first to admit she blew it. She never tried to blame anyone else.

Robin.. the big redhead and the blond chick who kept calling Barbie a bitch are the ones coming off as "Angry". They all seemed to fly off the handle with very little provocation. I hate to see women act like this. It's so ugly.

Compared to them...Barbie seems calm and level-headed (despite her meltdown with the scallops). But, hey maybe I missed something in the editing.

But, Robin did crack me up when she said Barbie was lucky they weren't in the hood... because I was thinking Barbie might squash her little ass like a bug.

First, let me say I hate these mean girls posing as women. second, I hate Royce. Now for the specifics.

Robyn -- First you claimed that your dish was sitting and waiting because Barbie is incompetent. Next when you are told your dish was raw, this too was Barbie's fault. NO! If your dish was over cooked you might be able to blame her. undercooked means the time you spent yelling at, undercutting and doing all you could to humiliate Barbie would have been better spent actually COOKING YOUR FOOD! If anything, your schreeching like a banshee contributed to Barbie's messing up. Lastly, you called Barbie out her name and threatened her, you need to be gone for that alone.

Tiffany -- Aside from being an obnoxious pig monster, you are clearly psychotic. I suppose it was Barbie's fault that you ordered others to cook fish that had not yet been ordered. How would that have helped in terms of hEat, texture and flavor. I look at you and see a person who was never down with the cool crowd, and now you see a chance to be one with the attacks on Barbie, so you pile on. You are a true piece of crap.

Kimmi -- You are Tiffany to the second power. Utterly vile and despicable. You need to be gone sooner rather than later.

Royce, you are an entitled princess and you have yet to show anything that makes me think you are a good person, let alone a good chef.

I like Barbie too, but I have mixed emotions about keeping her on the show. I want her to advance, but I don't want them to turn her into the next Elise through the magic of editing (I can clearly see that coming). The producers have sicced the tag team of Tiff and Robyn on Barbie and they are like a couple of pit bulls. Barbie won't win (I'm sure of that), and I don't want them to string her along as the house villain for the sake of ratings. I'd rather see Barbie go home early than have the producers make a fool out of her.

I do not get the Barbie hate. They have not shown what she did that was so awful. She screwed up badly at service but I can't think of what she did to anger the entire team. Robyn , Kimmie, and Tiff were pretty much in agreement that Barbie is evil. The other women seemed to agree on some level.

Royce needs to go. The first person BS is old. He comes from a solid background so he is here to stay, which annoys me.

Where do they get all these immature redneck, ghetto chefs? It seems like that is the new M0.

All smoking (what chef with a good palate smokes except AB?), profanity, tempers and poor communication skills.

And they are excited about a day trip on a cheesy $40 an hour rented "yacht" to Catalina Island? One Hour from LA?

Only young ignorant chefs would be excited about these rewards, put up with this crap and make such amateur mistakes in the kitchen.

I am not even a professional and I am done. They get younger and stupider every year.

I always wonder if they are picking crap chefs to begin with, or they get into the kitchen & forget everything they ever knew about cooking. How can they possibly screw up so much? They're all supposed to have some kind of cooking background, why can't they cook during dinner service?

I also wonder why the winning team never figures out that if they get loaded during their reward, they aren't going to be at their best during the dinner service that night. You would think somebody could figure that out.

Two episodes in and I'm declaring this the worst season ever! The men are complete morons with the exception of Guy who seems to have some cooking savvy; the women are pathetic and foul-mouthed.

I don't understand why Barbie is being picked on either. Robyn so manufactured the fight in the kitchen. She asked Barbie for the time on the scallops and Barbie said 2 minutes. It appeared to me that Robyn really ignored her and started screeching about how Barbie wasn't giving her the time. Too bad she didn't use all that energy cooking her lamb.

Has anyone seen Kimmie doing anything that resembles cooking? All I've seen her do is stand around and look evil.

Again, worst season ever but..... I'll still probably watch until it becomes utterly unbearable and that might not take too long.

There are some good Chefs on the show. I do think that they are not as experienced as the Chefs on other shows and I have a feeling that they are being fed to the lion, ie Grrrrrr.

I doubt any of them are working in a fine dining environment. I doubt any of them have worked for someone with Grrrr's stars and skill so they have no idea what it takes to get there. No matter how good they are, they are set up to fail. The ones who last and eventually shine are the ones capable of learning fast and have some real talent. I would guess that most new chefs in Grrr's restaurant start off as prep chefs. As they learn there, they move up the line, filling in when needed. It takes time. Thecontestants are thrown onto the line and are expected to meet standards they have never met before.

It does not help that they pick twits like Robyn and Tiffany. I want more Julia's. People over their head but willing to work hard and learn.

The less stupid ones are legitimately excited to not be doing the punishment and with getting to spend a day with Ramsay when he isn't yelling at them.

It does not help that they pick twits like Robyn and Tiffany.

There is little doubt in my mind that by adding people like them into the mix, it makes it harder for the borderline people to succeed. The jerks and complete fuck-ups make it very difficult for somebody who might bounce back from the first pan of RAWWWWW scallops to make the second pan correctly.

Speaking of bounce backs, after getting the lecture about three different color risottos, I don't remember seeing any more of that girl for the rest of the episode. Maybe I should remember her name (Briana), because if that's the only thing we heard about the risotto here in episode two, and that's a very good sign.

I don't know why I can't quit this show. It's the same every year, but I never get tired of hearing Gordon Ramsay scream, "It's raaaaaaaaaaw!"

For me, it's not so much his angry yelling as it is for the times when it seems like he's genuinely ticked off at one of them. It's usually when one of the people he thinks actually has potential screws up.

My favorite little thing that happened was when Ramsay yelled at Justin for moving slowly or something like that, which he then punctuated with "you're worse than him!" pointing at Don. Camera then cuts to Don who is just standing there with a dumb look on his face. HA! I'm laughing again now just thinking about it.

I smell a rat.......

Barbie has already shown that she can cook scallops exceptionally well. She demonstrated her skill with scallops in the cooking challenge early on, and it was pointed out upthread that she had a lot to do with the ladies winning the first challenge. I find it suspiciously strange that she has become so utterly incompetent with scallops so quickly. Hmmm..... And now largely due to scallop-gate, Barbie's teammates have turned on her like a pack of wolves and the woman who seemed so even tempered early on has suddenly (out of necessity) become defensive and combative.

I always wonder if they are picking crap chefs to begin with, or they get into the kitchen & forget everything they ever knew about cooking. How can they possibly screw up so much? They're all supposed to have some kind of cooking background, why can't they cook during dinner service?

This show is no longer about finding the best culinary talent - if it ever was. This is the Kitchen version of Basketball Wives and The Housewives of....franchise. It's about matching people up who are incompatible and placing them in tense situations that encourage explosive arguments and fights. GR is the head puppeteer who pulls the strings and makes sure that everyone remains on edge and ready to explode at a moment's notice.

They don't actually have dinner service on the same day as the reward. Gordon slipped up and told us that last night. He was yelling at Barbie, I think, and said something to the effect of, "You let a trip to Catalina yesterday go to your head". So there is a night's rest for the boys who cleaned up as well as the girls who had the day off. They don't make it look that way due to their "clever" editing. Someone just forgot to edit out what Gordon said.

I doubt any of them are working in a fine dining environment. I doubt any of them have worked for someone with Grrrr's stars and skill so they have no idea what it takes to get there.

The boy we all love to hate, Royce, works for one of Gordon's friends. I noticed in the previews Gordon makes a call and hands the cell phone to Royce, all the while Royce is saying "I know who he's calling." Must be nice to have your boss give you a pep talk during this mess.

It started when Barbie put the wrong amount of scallops on the tray and Tiffany didn't say anything. She took the tray up to the pass with a smile on her face. Gordon yelled at Barbie and I think that totally screwed up her head from that point on. Then Tiffany instructed her to cook the fish that hadn't been ordered yet and she listened to her. Bet she doesn't do that again.

Ok, What is with Tiffany?? Didn't she say something in the beginning of the first show that she's more than just a pretty face or something?? Huh? You are fat and ugly.

Did you see the camisole tops she is wearing around the house (without a bra). When she was digging for the scallops, they were almost falling out...and not in a good way.

She has a seriously distorted view of her looks and body. Yuck

Completely agree. I quit on the show last season after my all-time-most-hated HK contestant kept getting saved by Grrr every fucking week (since she was nominated every fucking service because she sucked and everyone hated her) for what became clear were purely dramatic purposes. When she made F5 I said "Fuck you, Gordon Ramsay" and didn't return (I still don't know who won, actually).

Barbie (so far) isn't even on the same universe of vile that was Elise. The total lack of justification (that we were shown) for the animosity she generated is suspicious. Did she piss in everyone's corn flakes on Day 1? The editing is ridiculous.

Gagreed. When the inevitable meltdowns occur in the pressure cooker, whomever generates the most entertainment (read: OTT vileness) is certain to be safe for the long haul. [Right now, my money is on Tiffany making a lot of cuts even though she probably has no chance to win.] Cooking skill? Competence? Coolness under pressure? Why do they even bother to pretend that those things really matter any more?

Ok, What is with Tiffany?? Didn't she say something in the beginning of the first show that she's more than just a pretty face or something?? Huh? You are fat and ugly.

I don't care if she had Charlize Theron's face, I could never see someone who acted like her as "pretty".

Tiffany reminds of that woman on the Drew Carey show but less amusing.

HA! Right down to the attitude, but (as you say) without the humor.

Royce works for Ralph Pagano, HK first-season runnerup.

And so, even though he has zero business going any further in this competition, Grr will let him slide by much longer than he should.

Really, we're only 2 episodes in, yet if we can finally identify a couple of genuine front-runners in the next episode, I'd feel very confident picking the final 5 or 6. (2 of Tiffany, Kymmie, Barbie, and Robin, maybe Royce, and the 2 "real" Finalists, whom GRR has probably already identified.) Certainly the less obnoxious women are cannon fodder for the next few eps.

I may be staring at him but you can bet my hands will be doing something

Hi all! I'm new to this particular thread, but I love the Grrrr and yes, the RAAAAAAAW scallops. I swear, I could probably cook a perfect scallop at this point just from watching Gordon scream at them and I've never eaten one. It's to the point that I can say it's raw, it's burnt, it's perfect just by one camera shot as the chef take them to the pass.

I get they cast this show for personalities, dysfunctional or not, just as much as they do cooking skill, but damn, they seemed to have gone to super extremes this season. None of these chefs seem to be overly talented in the cooking department and the vast majority seem to have some sort of massive personality flaw. If the end game is to be head chef in Gordon's new steakhouse, you would think that he would have cast at least a few ringers who could cook and didn't have the personality of a sociopath and/or a wooden door. Maybe there's hope for some of the men, we haven't seen too much from them yet, but the women seem like a lost cause. Tiffany is hateful and none too bright if she thinks pre cooking the fish is a good idea, Robyn apparently thinks she's Eminem, and the red headed one is what my sister would call a wildebeest. I don't get all the Barbie hate from the women, I do kinda get an almost racist vibe from some of them, but at the same time, I don't see her as having the skills to win. Honestly, none of them seem to have the skills to win and be a head chef. Maybe the Israel army guy and that's only since I would imagine he's able to be cool under pressure.

Apropos of absolutely nothing... to me, Don looks exactly like Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads fame.

And from the "None of these people have ever watched this show before, have they?" files... it never fails to crack my ass up when really early on (episodes 1-3 or 4) all the other members of a given team collectively decide for whatever reason that they hate one person on their team, and they all gang up and decide that they're gonna get that person sent home ASAP. So they put the person up, and they all stand there looking so smugly self-satisfied as one of them gives Ramsay the "not a team player, ruining morale" schpiel. And all the while they're blissfully ignorant of the fact that that's precisely the way to ensure that the person you desperately want to see sent home outlasts most of the rest of you. Then their jaws drop when Ramsay does precisely what pretty much everyone who's ever bothered to watch this show once or twice in their lives knew beyond any doubt he'd do.

It just never ceases to amaze me that these people don't get that. I'm pretty sure that the only contestant on this show who ever really understood that as it was happening was Elise.

I like Guy as well, for that very reason. Now, whether or not he can cook... he showed a little bit when he didn't put his rice on his plate (or whatever it was) because he didn't feel it was up to par. Wasn't he sort of in charge of the men last night? When Boyce cried and apologized for not knowing how to make mashed potatoes like GR wanted.... well, dumbass, everyone knows you must put in some butter and cream/milk. What did he do, just mash them dry and throw on a little salt and pepper?
