From The Discovery Channel

It's a bike club. It's a brotherhood. It's The Devils Ride, premiering Tuesday, May 8, at 10 p.m. E/P on Discovery Channel.
For the first time Discovery goes inside the world of motorcycle clubs with the members of San Diego's Laffing Devils.
The Devils Ride sports a diverse crew, but one bonded by a commitment to each other and the club. Meet Laffing Devils president Gipsy, who must balance the club's growing ranks with pressure from older members to maintain the status quo. An ex-Marine who served in Iraq, Gipsy credits the club for helping him deal with the emotional scars of war.
Then there's club vice-president Billy the Kid, who waits in the wings wondering if he'll have the chance to lead the Laffing Devils.
And younger member Snubz breaks all the biker stereotypes with his degree in finance and a full-time corporate job.
The Devils Ride finds the Laffing Devils not only in open conflict internally, but also at risk of losing their homebase. The Laffing Devils' unofficial headquarters is the auto body shop owned by fellow member Hawkster, but police pressure might force the club to find a new home. Moving is going to cost the club money, so Gipsy seeks out security work for the Laffing Devils guarding a liquor store in a very dangerous part of town. Will their new responsibilities pit the club against one another?
The Devils Ride also covers what would-be members must do to prove themselves to the club before they can be "patched in." In order to earn his spot, prospect Charles is out on an official club task of protecting some of the club's wives and girlfriends, or Ol' Ladies, on a night out. When a pushy photographer gets too close for comfort, blood boils and the situation gets physical. Will Charles' actions protecting the women earn him the respect of the young blood and, more importantly, earn him his cut?
Watch and see when The Devils Ride premieres Tuesday, May 8, at 10 p.m. E/P on Discovery Channel.

I'll put it this way - when I've caught up on all my shows on On Demand and there is absolutely nothing on tv to watch, I'll catch up on these on On Demand as well.

Fake isn't even the beginning to describe this 'laff'-fest. They're obviously not a legit one percent club (they're what's referred to as a 'support' club), but they act like they want to play along with the big boys (Hells Angels, etc).

Legit or not - to have a camera follow you around as you go about your 'club business' is just absolutely unheard of. I have an acquaintenance whose an old lady to a 1% biker and I've gotten the list of 'do's and don'ts' in MC-life - some even Sons of Anarchy (which this crap fest bills itself as the real life SOA - much to the creator, Kurt Sutter's disdain) have been guilty of. Just the bickering, behind the back gossiping that goes on amongst these guys is so disprespectful it isn't even funny. Gipsy wanting to go off and 'start his own club' after being told to hand in his cut after he retired (AND making the cut the SAME EXACT COLORS as the LD's) is way, way WAY out of line. Sandman's a total douche, Snoopz (the new VP) is an idiot (especially showing up at a MOTORCYCLE drag race in a CADILLAC!)and Gipsy is arrogant and nervy. These guys wouldn't have lasted an hour in one of the 'Big Four 1% clubs' with that sort of behavior.

I watch it for pure awe of how stupifying it is and an unrealistic and embarrassing portrayal of anyone in the biker community

This is just a motorcycle club. It's just one more way for grown men to act like little boys. There are no real badasses, and mentioning them in the same sentence as Hell's Angels is a joke. A close relative of mine was a Hell's Angel and I hung out in their clubhouse back in the day. Club business was not discussed with civilians. Ever. I suspect this show has made them the laffingstock of the biker community.

Oh, I know. But you can tell they aspire to be accepted by the true 1%ers even though, in reality, they are tagged as nothing more than a 'support club.' But even as a support club (or, less glamorous term - 'puppet club') you should still maintain discretion. I know they're not plotting criminal acts in front of the camera, but just that they've allowed a camera crew inside church during votes, the rehabbing of their new clubhouse, etc. still isn't acceptable behavior within a biker club.

I enjoy the show and think it is entertaining. People want to branded it as fake or put it down because they are not 1%, I just enjoy it for what it is entertainment. They are not going to commit criminal acts on a reality show. It is about the interaction of a group of people who just happen to ride motorcycles. It is a positive show in that it attempts to demonstrate that all bikers are not criminals.

I am sure a lot of it is fake, everything on Sons of Anarchy is fake. The producers probably told Snubz to show up at the drag race with his cadilac. They may have even suggested the whole Gipsy step down story. I would rather watch a fake reality show that is believable. Than a scripted show that is not the least bit plausible or realistic.

In my opinion the real issue is that this would be better served as a scripted drama then a "reality" show. Back in the day I hung out in a bar where there were plenty of real bikers and I am sure they would laugh hysterically at the thought of these guys really considering themselves to be badass. And yes I agree, no hard core club would allow camera crews inside--not because they are plotting the crime of the century but because it simply isnt done. To be honest I'm just glad there is someone besides me and the hubby who is watching this crap even if its because there is absolutely nothing else to watch.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit I watch, given my background, but my excuse is that I live in (north) San Diego (County) - and have never heard of these guys, nor have I heard my town referred to as "Dago". Notorious, no - famewhores, yes.

This show is basically pro wrestling angles without the wrestling. I half expected Hulk Hogan and Scott Hall to appear as new members of Gypsy's club. The show is deliberately not following MC protocols in order to generate heat. It will be interesting to see if Eric Bischoff will be able to to keep an audience engaged for a full season with wrestling pshychology.

Just caught this show on a marathon, ok 3 shows in a row. My question since I watched with one eye while the other eye cooked and cleaned: Why isn't Gypsy the pres of the new mob club? What happened. I did google his name and did catch that he has been accused of pedophilia.

I don't know why they try to pull off some of these shows as reality, it doesn't take a lot to see how scripted this show is, it's really not far off from one of the car repo "reality" shows.

In the first episode, there was a narrative voiceover with Bubba, I believe, and said that Gipsy was out of the club for 'conduct unbecoming'. So I suppose that "bubba' held a vote with himself and decided to vote Gipsy out. LOL The whole thing is so bizarre that it can only be fake. All this fighting over colors that most of them have never worn is a weird concept to me. However, if I watch it thinking that it is a mockumentary instead of reality tv, it's much funnier.

I thought that it was pretty funny that Rockem considered the veterans run a huge success, myself I wouldn't consider 13 riders a successful run, unless it was a beer run.
I heard for the season finale, there are going to have a dance off.

There is one part of the Veteran's run that is hilarious:

I'm sure Sin Mob is advertising the run like crazy. Posters, web advertising, and maybe even a mention of it on the radio.

And then we cut to the scene at Laffing Devils. "I have some inside information that they might be planning a run this weekend. If anybody finds out I told you, I'm dead!"

After watching the first half hour of the premier, it was all I could stand. If this show was a joke last season, it has surpassed it with just the first half hour.

First off - the producers have definitely re-tooled this to make them look more 'hard', rather than the drag-racing doofuses they were last season. Even Sandman looks like he's toned down from being McDouchy in the interview segments to appear more authoratative than punk-ass. Flashes to showing them with clubs, chains, etc. in their hands offset with voice-over (you mess with us, you're gonna find out just what the consequences are - paraphrasing) to showing them fighting seem like a generated move to make them look more bad-ass than last season. Last season they appeared goofy with prospects charged with babysitting the old ladies while they dined 'al fresco' (really?) and making Tank earn his cut by having him run after it in a padded suit while a vicious dog chased him, to showing tension between the couples made it come across like some MTV teen reality show - thus the reason for the massive overhaul.

I wonder what Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy creator) thinks of the smoking skull in the opening, which is his logo for his YouTube videos. These guys may be an MC, but they are not true 1%-ers (they lack the 1% patch on their cut) so I don't consider them to be 'big boys' but rather a 'brother club' to one of the bigger one. They're also making it sound as if the Laffing Devils have many charters to make them appear more profound than they are.

Whether 1% or a riding club, no self-respecting MC would have a camera crew follow them around to prove what BAMF's they are. This entire feud with the SinMob (and Gypsy's expulsion due to mysterious circumstances - which may be code for 'contract dispute') seems so fake and generated and, again, no REAL club would EVER have this recorded
