"Grief" - A painful loss forges a stronger bond between Emily and Jack, Victoria forms a new alliance that could seal Conrad's fate, and Charlotte sets out on a vendetta of her own with Declan as her target, on "Revenge," WEDNESDAY, MAY 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.

RIP Sammie. I nearly got choked up over a TV dog.

I like that Yonkers girl. Wouldn't be opposed to seeing her next season.

I hate you, Revenge. I was bawling like a baby over Sammy.

Also, Nolan better not be dead.

I was mixed up and thought this week was the season finale, so my jaw was scraping the floor as I was thinking that the cliffhanger was going to be Nolan being choked by the white haired man. And yes, I was a little puzzled as to why some of the scenes from the last preview hadn't shown up, but was willing to chalk that up to editing or misleading teasers.

Sammy the immortal dog finally bites it. It was fairly obvious that Emily was digging the grave for the dog, even before all the anvils alluding to Sammy being sick.

Victoria finding Lydia and Conrad together? Loved.

I'm over Daniel and Em. If Jack finally cuts his hair, I'll totally be on their bandwagon. That said, who shares a kiss while grieving over their dead dog? Television shows love to play up folks being their most vulnerable while mourning the loss of someone but I've never bought it.

I'm sure Nolan's just knocked out but he sure looked dead in that last scene. And what was with White Haired Man's affinity for clocks?

The camera Em hid in the Orwell book was a nice touch. Subtle.

Yonkers Girl is a dead ringer for Princess Diaries' Mia. She legit had it all. The school uniform, the frizzy hair, the glasses. She, along with Declan and Charlotte, can go away now. So over the teen set. And who buys THAT much coke?

When the hell will Nolan and Emanda figure out that they of all people need top notch security? Ashley just creeps up at Emanda's window spying and Emanda doesn't even have so much as a motion sensor. Nolan should have been uber careful when dealing with the white haired man especially since the guy was all creepy and threatening like when Nolan was in his house. Big Ed, please come back and protect precious Nolan. Too late I guess, now that Nolan has been captured. I guess Emanda has to go save him now.

I hope Emanda grabs all the evidence from Daniel's briefcase and makes dummy copies of the evidence to leave in its place. Can't wait for the season finale. I hope it's awesome.

Noooooo, not Sammy! Geez, that was rough(no pun intended) I definitely was wiping away tears. And it's worse if you're like most pet owners who has gone through that inevitable. I felt like both actors were really felt those emotions.

I was mixed up and thought this week was the season finale,

Me too! For some reason I thought this was the finale,so I was thinking, geez...this is lacking something for a season finale. Glad I was wrong.

Could anyone tell exactly what was that evidence Victoria found behind the painting? Just paperwork?

And did I miss something? When did Emily tell Jack who she really was? Oh wait, was he talking about the day he first met her this season?

Also, Nolan better not be dead.

I doubt it. I took it as one of those sleeper holds that was a Jack Bauer specialty on 24.

I'm not going to believe Nolan's dead, no way, especially not when Emanda is telling someone in the previews thatif something happened to her to tell Jack she loves him. Not happy that Sammy died either. Yes, it was about time, but the consequence was that he ended up bringing Amanda and Jack together in the cliched way. Can't wait for Ashley to out them.

I think the giant bag was pills.

David's original hard drive, papers, audio/video recordings, etc. Everything that Conrad told the White Haired Man (WHM) he would turn over if WHM hurt Conrad's family.

And did I miss something? When did Emily tell Jack who she really was?

She never did.

YES. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought all of that. Plus, I like Yonkers Girl already.

I can't figure out why they're making Daniel so unlikable all of a sudden, but I spent a good deal of this episode wishing that Emanda would just dump him, ditch the revenge plot, and just be happy with Jack forever because I'm a sucker for those kinds of things.

Also, if Nolan is dead, I'm going to be veeery angry. How could someone that smart not realize that the White Haired Man was suspicious of him? Also, if he had realized that the White Haired Man was suspicious (which I assumed he would have), why didn't he do anything to protect himself?

Loved the therapy scene. Loved it.

I don't think I can wait until next Wednesday.

ETA: With Jack's whole thing about Sammy leading him to Emanda...I kept wondering if that would become a teaser for him finding out who Emanda really is. I really hope I'm right...

Can't believe I feel so sad about a dead TELEVISION dog.

I feel more pathetic than Ashley. Sad, I know.

I'm guessing both actors have lost pets.

Also, I would like to think that Vic made backup copies of everything before she turned the evidence over to Daniel. Or perhaps she gave him bogus evidence.

Yonkers Girl is a dead ringer for Princess Diaries' Mia.

That's what I thought.

Sammy has always been one of the sillier aspects of the show, starting with the fact that he's still alive to begin with; but I've always found the show's fearless indulgence of the tropes related to him rather enjoyable (he's still healthy despite pushing twenty! He remembers Emanda after all that time! He can tell that Amily isn't the real deal!) -- including here, where he can evidently sense his own impending death and return home to die.

Not so unknown, animals often find a spot where they are at ease to die. Two cats did this

But how can he DIE !!

When did Daniel suddenly turn into JR Ewing? I'm totally confused and annoyed by the sudden personality surgery. It's like this isn't even the same character anymore and it all happened in less than one episode.

Sad that Sammmy died, but I guess I didn't tear up because I knew it was going to lead to a contrived kissing scene. I just find Emily and Jack have no chemistry and I get annoyed because I see the set up of how Emily is going to ultimately choose a simple life without revenge with good Jack, etc. etc. etc.

I definitely was thinking that she gave him fake evidence to "test" him.

I also was semi-hoping that Emanda would tell Jack who she actually is, but there's no way he'd be able to keep that a secret being the choir boy that he is.

I'm glad Emanda got to say her goodbyes to Sammy before he passed. She was separated from him for so long. So much of her life had been stolen from her. I beleive it was cathartic for her to share those final moments with Jack, the last innocent part of her childhood.

One of my dogs passed away two weeks ago, so that was tough to watch. Kudos to Nick/the writers for completely nailing the last minute petting/kissing/thanking that we grateful dog owners do at the very end. I'm still a mess just thinking about it.

Part of me wants Emanda to slip Daniel knock out drops and take the evidence to the lawyer who ran David's appeal and go with him and five other attorneys (as witnesses) to the FBI and have done with it. But that would be the end of the series, wouldn't it. All in all a good episode, I knew Nolan trying to place a bug in the WHM's house was going to get him in trouble. Like WHM doesn't have security of his own (to follow Nolan) and wouldn't have immediately expected a bug plant.

I don't believe that Sammy is dead. That Zombie Dog is going to be up and about ready to push Emily and Jack together when she continues with her revenges and continues her relationship with Daniel.

Honestly, Sammy was so damned contrived from the beginning not I am not surprised that his death continue a childhood relationship that lasted only a few months. And any emotional sympathy that I could have felt over a beloved pet dying evaporated when Jack started crying. It was similar to his blubbering when he told Emily months ago that he had feelings for her.

@bergh -- I'm puzzled by Daniel's personality change as well. I was initially assuming he was doing this so he could gather evidence against his father and turn that into the feds.

Unless he's feeling major gratitude to his father for getting him out of jail (which was also Emanda, but Daniel doesn't know that) or his father has convinced him that the family will lose absolutely everything if the Feds start an investigation and Daniel and Charlotte may find themselves out on the streets (true, but on the bright side, Charlotte's already got a foothold into the seedy underworld of drug dealing and a possible career there, so all is not hopeless), but even then, the whole switch feels wrong.

Oh fuck you, show. Thank you for ruining my whole goddamned week.

I will say that goodbye speech was as heartfelt as it could ever be. The moment between brothers was touching too.

I'm sorry, boobtubejunkie. I thought it was incredibly realistic too. We owe our faithful pets so much. I truly believe they know how grateful we are for their love.

Edited because I can't stop crying over Sammy and wanted to extend my condolences to another dog lover.

Daniel's personality change seemed to happen after he got his ass beaten in jail...and then found out that Mommy Dearest was responsible.

Speaking of which, I was distracted at the time...why was he trying to give Jack money (that Jack thought was some sort of payoff)?

The pacing of this episode was awesome, after a few episodes that felt more like filler. I do wish they'd try to sell Daniel's personality shift/motivation a bit thought. The most plausible explanation seemed to be that he was trying to protect the company to protect Charlotte's legacy like his father asked him to, but at the family therapy session, he seemed totally uninterested in Charlotte, and was all up in his parents' drama and his defense of his father, instead of going after her like a concerned brother would,so now I have no idea what we're supposed to think he's trying to do.

Didn't think Bill Buchanan would be fooled that easily by Prince Valiant Hair. All those years hangin' with Jack Bauer were not wasted. Who is he conspiring with for over 20 years? Is it Victoria? Oh, and did she really give Daniel the evidence or are they dummies, and perhaps dummies that would trap Emily should she steal or copy them.

Dude who plays Daniel reminds me of an extremely young Jimmy Caan.

Daniel knows how devious his mom is, so why would he call up his dad (while in a room with wide open doors no less), seconds after she gave Daniel the alleged evidence, to declare victory over his mother? Danny is a moron!

Lydia is hilarious trying to act like she's Head Bitch In Charge. Scantily dressed, all smug and displaying her best bitch face, talking shit to Vic and in the end, she still showed just how truly weak she is. Lydia is pathetic.

Over 2 episodes Daniel is looking like a total sleeze, Conrad.2. As many twists and turns on this show, maybe Daniel will be pulling a fast one on his parents. But, I'm not sure he's smart enough. Maybe Dad got him to drink the koolaid.

Jack and Declan's reaction to Sammy's demise was pretty accurate. But Amanda letting her guard down so was a bit much. She dedicates her life to revenge, but becomes melted, marshmallow goo over a dog she spent 2 minutes with about 10 years ago? I was certain that Daniel was going to peep in the window during the sob/kiss fest, not Ashley. For such a badass, Emily needs windows with heavy curtains and a basic home security system. Nolan should speed dial his security guy back if WHM could enter his house and strangled hold him.

If I were Charlotte I'd need drugs too. Is she always the family scapegoat? The family all gathers around to "help" her drug issues. In a minute, Dad and Mom have a big fight and make it all about them. If Charlotte died of drug abuse, they'd all be worried about the press problems before/if they mourned. Charlotte would get less grief from her family than Sammy did.

ETA: spelling
