You know what, bless 'em, they went out on a high note. That was an episode that did the legacy of The Office proud.

And Jim's terrified expression during their family portraits made me laugh way more than it really should have, haha...

It definitely had its moments. David Wallace is welcome anytime, and it was fun to see Mose again.
Good sendoff for Robert California, or Bob whatever he's calling himself.
"So you're going to help uneducated gymnasts?" was my favorite line.

I thought the entire finale was a hot mess. From Andy's ridiculous plot to have his "moment" to the high-speed baby diaper chase, I couldn't believe what I was watching. David Wallace is smart enough to get $20 million out of a toy vacuum but can't realize when he's being scammed out of a million dollars so Robert California (forever in my mind now as "Bobby K") can sleep with young women? Erin tells Andy that he shouldn't do anything that he can't bounce back from and then almost immediately tells her coworkers that Andy is physically and/or emotionally abusing her to further his plot? Andy agrees to hire the woman who helped to screw him over (and would likely do so again) because she quotes Shakespeare? Val dumps her boyfriend that day, and is immediately comfortable posing in a family portrait with Darryl and his daughter?

Just an entirely half-baked episode, IMO. If they hadn't put to bed some of the season's issues, I wouldn't even consider it finale material. I understand that the writers probably wanted to leave as many options open as possible for next season, but still. . .

Kevin's look at the camera while Robert was going on about his "charity work" with young women is probably my favorite Kevin moment of the entire season.

That episode wasn't great, but Robert California is gone, and Andy is back. I could even deal with Nellie staying on the show now that she's not the villain. And there were some good little moments, like Jim ripping Dwight's suit off. This show will never get back to it's glory days, but I'll still give it a chance next season.

A pretty unfocused episode. They tried to cram too many storylines into a half an hour, and it didn't help that Andy wasted large chunks of time by pretending to be a hobo or whatever. Not a single hour-long episode this season, what the heck? And instead of bringing back Nellie, couldn't they have just brought back Michael Scott for one episode to hit Nellie with his car? My respect for David Wallace took a big hit when Robert California scammed him out of a cool million in roughly ten minutes, but in any event it's good to have him back.

Based on early Robert California, I figured he'd get more out of the meeting with David Wallace than a million. Stupid, but - somewhat in character, at least. As for the rest of it? Eh. Besides the one weird Erin moment, it was weird that she made the most sense this episode, with "directing" Andy.

I was a little bit turned off with the Cold Open, as well. Based on how empowering the "It Gets Better" videos have been to some people, the fact that they kind of turned it into a joke was a little cheap to me. And the closer seemed a bit forced. Is the Senator supposed to be into Oscar, or is he just trying to drive the point home that he's gay, and Oscar was right all along? If that's supposed to be a key plot into next season, I'm not too interested. If anything, I feel terrible for Angela.

I'd feel bad for Angela if she hadn't ended the episode making out with Dwight. She cheated on Andy with Dwight and she cheated on the senator with Dwight and now she's trying to pass off a baby that is most likely Dwight's as the senator's. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out she and the senator have never even had sex and this whole thing is just a marriage of convenience for both of them. She likes the status of being a senator's wife and he likes being able to pass as straight. I wouldn't be surprised if next season features both of them carrying on simultaneous affairs with Oscar and Dwight.

I wonder why the hell Oscar thought it would be a good idea to make his "It Gets Better" video at work. He knows it's impossible to get anything done with those people around.

I agree with most of the criticisms of this episode so far - a lot of ridiculousness. The idea of hiring Nelly - does this company just have endless jobs to hand out? But I kept thinking that Andy was better looking than usual - was his hair thicker and longer, or just not gelled down? And maybe it was the bit of unshavenness? He just looked rather handsome to me tonight!

While I agree that there were numerous problems with this episode, the very fact that we got to see Creed Bratton having a family picture taken with what I presume were his parents meant that it wasn't all bad.

Yes, pretty much that's what happened. The Senator comes out with baby Philip and acts unhappy that Oscar didn't call him. Then he covers the baby's eyes and mouths, "Call Me" to Oscar.

If that was the series finale then it was terrible.

It wasn't even a great season finale. I agree that there were just too many things going on. I liked the family photos so we could see Darryl's daughter, Toby's daughter, Sasha, who is about the age she should be, Stanley's daughter who hasn't gotten much taller, Jake and his face tattoo, Ryan and his signs. And, yes, Creed with his parents...or a nice couple he's scamming.

I hated seeing Wallace taken in by Robert but it fits that a guy who talks the CEO of a company into giving him her job could probably get a million from a reasonably smart guy. But, it appears that Robert is somewhat of a scam artist anyway.

I guess Angela finding Mose dressed as Dwight was pretty funny, but otherwise, from the "It Gets Better Video" to baby Philip being filmed with his dad hitting on another guy, it was just one big blah.

Dull finale to a dull season. Glad to see Robert gone but Ellie is staying? So I guess the paternity of Angela's baby is the cliffhanger. I can't believe how much this what used to be one of my favorite shows, has gone downhill.

Such a letdown after some amazing past finales. Where is the show who gave us the Casino Night JAM kiss, the reveal of Michael Scott thinking about helping raise someone else's child, the shock of finding out that Jim and Pam were pregnant in an amazing wordless scene? Instead, we're shown Angela cheating on her gay husband and her husband pining for Oscar. How is this even worthy of a season finale? I'm so conflicted...I want this show to be put out of its misery ASAP, but I would hate that this would be its last episode ever. This show deserved more.

The episode jumped way too much. I was really looking forward to a confrontation between Andy, Nellie, and Robert the Lizard King and it didn't really happen. I liked the way Andy was setting up for his grand return, but not how the actual transition was handled. David Wallace walks in, says hi to people, and announces the company is his? It really should have been a 2 parter, maybe they could have brought back Kathy Bates for 1 scene to show the transition.

Did David Wallace buy all branches of Dunder-Mifflin or just the Scranton branch?

Yeah, about halfway through I thought wistfully, "This show used to have such great season finales."

I did like seeing everyone's kids all grown up.

I actually didn't think David Wallace was being "taken." He knows there's still a lot of money to be made in the paper business (even today), he knows that D-M can be bought cheaply right now, and he sees big profit potential. Getting rid of Robert California for a million bucks is a bargain, even though it seems (surprisingly) to be a lot of money to Robert California.

I liked the episode well enough, even though the straining to set up lots of new possibilities for next year was kind of obvious.

I was in and out of my shortened attention span (thanks, Ny-Quil!) so I didn't see too much. I do remember wondering how RC gets $1 million out of David Wallace just to have sex with European gymnists. Just goes to show you that crap floats.

Sabre will be liquidated, and DW buys DM. It can't be that much. He can get a loan based on his personal account and not have to put that money at risk.

I missed all things Creed. Must rewatch.

NBC hasn't renewed TO for next year. Hopefully, it'll be like "30 Rock" and we'll get a shortened season, 12-16 episodes to give the show a send-off and get wrap ups on everyone, including Michael and Holly. A ketchup fight to end...is that asking too much?

In the last episode, when he was on the phone with Andy and Andy told him about his score with the big client, Robert said something about not standing for blackmail and "you don't even know my real name".

He didn't, he bought Dunder Mifflin, and Jo Bennett is liquidating the rest of Sabre. Which is probably a good idea, because that company seems to be in the technological toilet.

Won't this put Gabe out of a job, since he worked for Sabre?

As far as David Wallace is concerned, California is not getting $1 million to have sex with European gymnasts; California is getting $1 million to just go away. That's all Wallace wants. What California does with the money is not his concern.

He has to pay off California to go away because, presumably, California has a contract or an ownership stake that could make him an obstacle otherwise. Since Wallace knows D-M is priced at an incredible bargain at the moment, he's happy to throw in another million to remove this obstacle.

Is there any possibility that David Wallace is still as kooky as after his original stint at Dunder Mifflin. Maybe he isn't a millionaire at all. Maybe he didn't buy DM. Maybe Andy is no regional manager. Maybe Robert is getting nothing out of this. You never know.
