When three dead bodies turn up a few blocks from a campaign dinner, the team makes a shocking discovery.

Interesting season finale for this show. I could understand McKean going after Ecklie or Nick but he has no past experience with DB. I have trouble believing that DB and his wife didn't hear anything from the daughter or granddaughter. Did they drug them both so they wouldn't make any noise?

I like the fact that Nick still harbors anger toward McKean for killing Warrick. At least the show did have some continuity there. I can't see Nick just up and quitting, though. I think he's really disgusted with the system right now and he's had enough.

It will be interesting to see if Ecklie makes it to the next season. I never liked his character in the earlier years, but he's changed a lot. Still don't Finlay at all. How unprofessional to be flirting in the hallway at work with all that brass walking around.

Speaking of which, there was too little of Jim Brass in this episode.

I think this turned out to be a good season with the addition of Ted Danson's character. It made me start watching again after the Laurence Fishburne seasons.

Sam married Roz? And they are grandparents? I spent most the episode trying to process that.

Finn really is Sara 2.0. Hates powerful men, will ignore the rules to bring him down. Hey, Finn, you know the best way to bring these guys down? Like Catherine did. Get rock solid, by the book, evidence. Don't have them loopholes to walk through. Just. Do. Not. Like. Her.

Knew Gilmore didn't do it. A. I figured out long before Ms. Brilliant Finn that it would take a lot of energy to liquefy someone's internal organs. You don't just wslk back to a party looking calm cool and collected afer that. Also, if he is smart enough to wear a cover all and booties to avoid leaving trace, he is not going ot use his own hockey team's blade and cover all.

Nick righteously pissed off is awesome. Of course he won't quit. He will go out and solve it. Nice callback to the history of the show with Warrick's murderer being involved. And believe it or not, liked Sara pointing out that Warrick meant a lot to everyone not just Nick. The hair still needs work though.

Should have known Ecklie was toast when he and Brody started having a real family relationship. But for a minute I thought Hodges and his mom's car was going to blow up when they made a big deal out of who was going to drive. Never saw the kidnap of the grandchild coming. An angry DB is not a good thing to have after you. Of course, since it is his granddaughter he should not work the case. But you know he will.

I will give this show the start of next season. But if they don't tone down Finn, I am out of there. The Super Ray episodes almost caused me to give up on this show. One more unlikeable Super CSI and I am out.

I knew DB's family was a target from the moment he threatened McKean's. Between the happy family scene at the beginning, right up to the 'everyone has a weak spot' discussion, they were flashing the signs in neon with a spotlight. Same with the 'partner' and Ecklie. Even if Nick meant it, he will be back in after the attacks (unless George Eads doesn't sign a contract). For me the only real questions are 'how stupid is Finlay' and whether her squeeze is in on it. Smart Finlay walks away, leaving the 'partner' packageless.

I will say that despite my love and admiration for Bill Irwin, most of the Fishbourne years are pretty forgettable. I think years of doing television has made Danson more able to deal with the cipher moments (where the writers are not so clear why a character would do something or react to something, but they need them to do something) so often found in the fast paced world of network prime time television.

Oh, and to the original post, it wasn't even that Finley was flirting in the hallway - she was practically dry humping the boyfriend! Eww! I don't need to see that and I can't think of any place of work where that wouldn't get you written up or at least called in to management to be warned about your behavior!

Another year, another lame season finale. Saw it all coming after McKeen's son was killed.

The last four finales have been just terrible, even worse than the non-finales we got for seasons 1-4. The only good cliffhangers they've had since they started them at the end of the seventh season are seasons 7 and 8. The non-cliffhanger finales of seasons 5-6 were equally as good too.

As irritating as Sara was when she was the designated man hater, she at least wasn't as forced as Shue is in her role. She needs to just GO AWAY. Enrique, you can do so much better than that slag.

The cliff hanger ending is a cop-out. I really don't care much about Roz and Sam's never before seen daughter and granddaughter. I do care about Eckley since he's become tolerable. Hope he makes it. I do fully expect Nicky to come riding to the rescue when the show is back in the fall. If Nicky really does quit, if George is out of there, that'll be the nail in the coffin for me. I managed to suffer thru the CSIRay debacle but if there's no Nick and Fin being forced down out throats, Toddlers and Tiaras will be my go to Wednesday choice.

If I recall correctly, DB was supposedly hired by Ecklie so that he could try and rein in some of the 'cowboy/lone wolf' tactics of the Vegas CSIs after the whole Catherine/CSI Ray/serial killer extravaganza and then HE brings in a person who has a record of not following procedure? WTF?

Oh Nicky - you are NOT the lone designated "Warrick Chief Mourner". So glad that Sara pointed that out. And yes, I fully expect to see Nick back in first episode next year, fully convinced that he's the only reason that the system works. And how annoying is Finn, with her unfounded anger. And after deciding that the victim's husband was being set up, after she accused him of killing her, did she apologize to him? Not that I saw. Why did DB rehire her anyways? She hasn't learned from her past mistakes, obviously. Sara could be hard headed, impassioned, and determined from time to time, but Finn leaves her in the dust there. And all that PDA in the hallway would have gotten her a reprimend at any job I've worked at, if not a downright dismissal.

I knew there would be retaliation after McKeen's son was killed. I trust Ecklie will survive. I'm sure DB's granddaughter will be fine, though I really don't care all that much. I, too, wondered if Hodge's epiphany in Italy was discovering he's gay. That, or he's decided to become a Catholic priest. LOL

This may be a cliffhanger, but I won't be spending the summer worrying/thinking about it.

This is the first episode I've watched this season, mostly for the fact that I usually forgot it was on or had another show (Revenge) on at the same time. I only recently discovered that I can watch it three hours earlier. So, after reading all season about people's opinions about the new characters on here, I thought I'd give it a shot. And I understand why you all hate Finn so much. Geez, as soon as she accused the victim's husband of being the killer with absolutely no proof, I immediately disliked her. Geez, and then she goes and flirts with her BF in the hallway? She was practically dry humping him! Urg, part of me was hoping she would get shot and die but I figured that we might have had to endure all next season of Finn-pain as she dealt with the very tragic shooting and possiblity chasing after her shooter.

Nick won't quit. If he does, then that means there's only two of the main recipe cast members left, Greg and Sara. Everyone else came in quite a bit later and having Nick quit right after Catherine would probably sink the show. Then again, it all depends on George Eades and I wouldn't blame him for wanting to get off the CSI train after 12 seasons and now having to be overshadowed by Dumbass Finn.

I'm calling it now; Hodges is gay and he plans to run off with Ecklie. Bwaha, just kidding.

I pretty much called a lot of what happened in the episode (sans McKean), especially the two undercover cops being the bad guys, or at least some sort of bad guys.

Pretty mediocre finale. Maybe I should go back and watch the season now. I only caught glimpses of the season but what I saw wasn't awesome.

Actually, Nick and Brass are the only two main cast members left. Greg wasn't a main cast member until later and Sara didn't show up until the second episode.

Speaking of which, there was too little of Jim Brass in this episode.

Could not agree more. Brass should have been interviewing McKeen with Nick instead of Ecklie and DB.

And I'd kind of like to see Ecklie die mostly just to call this show's bluff.

I'll do you one better: I knew they were in danger from the very first scene. All season we've seen DB talking to his wife on the phone, obviously two people with a perfect marriage, and the first time we actually see her is in the finale. AND there's the cute granddaughter. Oh, and a daughter. I was actually puzzled at first by how little the camera showed of the daughter's face. We saw more later, but that made me wonder if she was going to die pretty soon.

Doh. That didn't even occur to me. I guess I wasn't paying attention, but I thought he was hinting that he met a wonderful Italian woman there. Maybe I was just thinking of Robert in Everybody Loves Raymond.

I know! I thought it would be a little more complex. I didn't expect any sexual or romantic history betw them, but I didn't think it would just be that Finn had obtained evidence illegally and gotten fired for it.

I swear, when Finn came striding in self-righteously accusing the husband of murdering his wife, I didn't want anything more than for her to be proven wrong. I knew she had to be wrong -- There must be some TV trope about over-confidence indicating wrongness -- but I wanted her smug face rubbed in it. So when she realized she was wrong, it just wasn't as satisfying. I also hated that when Jack took the coffee from her with two hands, DB didn't notice anything unusual. Only later when Finn explained it did it dawn on DB "Oh, that's why you brought in the coffee!" Ugh.

I am not a Finn fan.

That's something that lots of movies and TV shows do: A character storms out, and the other character barely makes an effort to stop him/her. I notice it, but it doesn't really bother me anymore. It's like characters getting a perfect parking space on the street, or people hanging up the phone without saying goodbye.

So I was pretty much hating the ep until the last few minutes, and then I was wondering who was going to get killed. Would it be Hodges and/or his mother? Ecklie and/or Brody? Finn? Nick, Sara, Greg? DB's family? I knew someone would get targeted; I just wasn't sure who.

I'll tune in next season, but I'm close to bailing. I really like Ted Danson. He's adding so much to the show. But I can't stand Finn, and really don't like Brody. There's a lot of stuff that makes me roll my eyes. For instance, I don't think Finn should have been allowed to take Jack's DNA.

Oh, and I also hate the sheriff. I don't think I've ever liked her. And now I think she's dirty.

And one more thing: Every time I see a hockey puck I think of Ding-Dongs.

Well, that was... interesting.

I freaking loved Nick's anger over Warrick's killer still being able to "work" from behind bars while Warrick is just dead. While I am glad that Sara pointed out that Nick isn't the only mourning Warrick, Nick was Warrick's best friend and I could see him harboring a lot of anger over that. I hope Nick doesn't actually quit, though, because aside from DB, he's about the only reason I still watch.

I loathe Finn. I don't care how dedicated she is, she's annoying. I can't believe how unprofessional she is. Personally I am surprised the sheriff didn't fire her ass when she talked back.

As soon as Roz was introduced as DB's wife (which I love!) it was pretty apparent that something was going to happen. I have really loved the addition of Ted Danson to cast, but I really wish they had left family out of it.

I used to hate him, but now I really hope Ecklie isn't dead. Tho, it was pretty predictable that he and Morgan were bonding when he was shot. Figures!

We watched this season finale....although we haven't watched CSI at all in a couple of years. Danson is marvelous! But this Finn woman? Good grief, she is dreadful! Tripping over her ego, defying authority, irritating me and Mr. YumYum greatly. If she is supposed to be Catherine's replacement, she isn't.

It took me a little while to think of more likely scenarios: a) Hodges has decided Wendy was his one twu wuv (comedy ensues!), b) Hodges had a flirtatious encounter with an Italian woman and is foolishly holding to the passing romance (comedy ensues!), c) Hodges has taken a personal code of romance that precludes his workplace or potential stepsister (comedy ensues?)... or d) maybe he's just planning to move to Italy or something.

I'll accept the amount of Finn in this episode, as it better fleshed out the core of her character... though, I would've preferred it earlier than the season finally. I can also understand why DB would want her on his team: insightful/creative; but her awful behavior has gotten so unbearable that I wouldn't mind having her gone -- with bullets. Writers' intention?

The kidnapping of DB's daughter & granddaughter seemed like weak plot; it would've worked better had we already known them. But there's still part 2... still hope for the bad guys to kidnap DB's son!

I'll admit, I was excited when Nick got up and left. Nick's storyline is the dynamic one, he's striding off into adventure! The cameras will be following him, right? Investigating crime and bringing justice to the shadows of Las Vegas! I wanted to make a Batman joke about the hero Las Vegas deserved but not the one it needed right now... but that reminded me that CSI has Sqweegel, and I accidentally made myself sad.

It's been a while since I've watched an episode (the Lawrence Fishburne / serial killer arc drove me away).

This was horrendous.

All of the new characters were pretty bad. Shue was probably the least awful. The young female CSI who wears too much make-up and who looks like a doll was probably next worst. Ted Danson was horrible, although he was the living emobodiment of the word monotone.

The family story lines - Ted Danson's baby kidnapped! Ecklie is shot! - were beyond terrible, and worse, it was boring. CSI Miami at its very worst.

CSI's strength was always the crime scene analysis, not this crap. This is the sort of crap that, in its "glory" days, CSI Miami could make entertaining, if only because you could make fun of the utter ridiculousness and implausibility of it all.

But it's not fun to watch this. It's just sad.

Moreover, stories that remind viewers what happened to Warrick is mistake. CSI had missteps before -- usually involving multi-episode serial killer stories or anything to do with Catherine's dad, the casino owner -- but this show really ended when Warrick died, though it limped along until Grissom left.

Perhaps they should just cancel it.

I knew from the time that DB basically taunted McKean, and especially once they made it known that Ecklie had shot his son, that there was going to be some kind of family revenge coming back. I fully expected somebody to come after Morgan, honestly. And I meant to go back and watch the Ecklie shooting scene to see if Morgan might have actually been the target there. But then Sam & Roz's granddaughter (and daughter) went missing, which for some reason caught me totally off guard. As cliffhangers go, I thought it wasn't bad, though. At least there was no Super Ray anywhere in sight. Even Wonder Finn seems tolerable after that ish...


Count me in the group that wondered if Hodges might have switched teams while in Italy. But I suspect an Italian bride will turn up at some point next season...

It was announced last week that George Eads has re-signed for next year, so Nicky isn't going to stick with quitting. He will naturally get called in with the missing Malone women, and Ecklie's shooting, and by the time the case is worked he will agree to come back. Maybe then they'll let us know if he is going to keep his second job as an Elvis impersonator, or if he can get his hair back to something entirely less strange looking...

Yes, please. I HAAAAATE her character. Obnoxious and unnecessary. Her whole (and I'm paraphrasing) "You're so much better company when you're not talking" comment sealed the deal for me. What a "C U Next Tuesday".

On a shallow note, I hate how she walks. Like she could take numerous people out with that super long and wide arm-swing of hers. I told the hubby last night that if she doesn't make it through this coming night, I seriously won't care. What a execrable character she is.

That said, except for Fin, I found the season ender quite gripping...it will be interesting to see how it pans out next year.

I've decided to any scene that Fin is in, regardless of who is with her. Sucks for the show (since she's in practically EVERY scene) but I just can't with her any more.

Blech, go away Finn. She is just awful and that weird almost-smile Elisabeth Shue has on her face all the time is just so off putting. I couldn't even enjoy the hotness that is Enrique Murciano because of her. And what was with the weird bar scene where she kept pushing his buttons until he up and left?

I just don't care about DB's family. Maybe if we had met them before I would have been upset by the ending. But I just shrugged. Finn is someone I don't pay alot of attention to. I miss the old characters. This show is really running out of steam.

I liked the episode for the most part. Can't stand Finn and hope that she gets taken out in a hail of bullets.

I would just like to say that the Hodges/Wendy relationship was one of my favorite things and if they HAVE decided Hodges is gay I really don't like how that kind of negates their whole relationship.

I don't agree that it would negate their relationship. There are gay men who've realised they're gay late in life, after a failed marriage even. I'm reminded of the character of David in Queer as Folk US, who is having a relationship with a younger gay man. Having come out doesn't mean he was never married or that he never had a son.

Also, the problem with Wendy and Hodges was that Hodges wasn't willing to go the final mile; either follow her to Portland (I remember quipping that he was acting like he had to follow the Oregon Trail or something) or set up a long-distance relationship. The fact that he wasn't willing to do either shows that it wasn't for keeps, but it didn't vanish, and it wouldn't if Hodges had realised in Italy that his sexuality was more fluid than he'd thought.

Having said that, I doubt very much that it'll be 'gay Hodges'. It'll be something funny and dumb, because they like to write Hodges like a clown. Because nerds are funny and laughable, donchaknow. Though in the last episode with the ambulance driver killer, he came across as kinda cool. Oh, who knows. The way they write these characters I wonder if they're trying to set up a multiple-personality disorder storyline.

As for the rest of the episode, meh. The family in peril thing sucks, and it's a cheap trick. Fin was more annoying than usual. I'm worried about Ecklie. And as for Roz, at first I really liked her, but then, her line delivery of "They said to look upstairs" . . . oy vey. My reaction was to ask whether Frasier had asked her to find something in his attic. And I don't care about winsome grandchildren. At. All.

I'm a little confused by something. McKean was gloating about killing Warrick and said he was hailed as a cop-killer in prison because of it. Hasn't it been established several times that CSIs are not cops?

I think that is an example of the writers mixing their shows up. No, the folks of the original recipe are all civilians unlike the characters in the spin offs who are all sworn officers. Also, they probably think its more believable that McKean would get status for killing a cop instead of a mere technician which is what the CSI are despite the Hollywood glamor that the show gives them.
