From comcast.com:

The final four teams race through Japan before traveling to Honolulu, where the winning duo claim the $1 million top prize.

Well, this season is over and I can’t say that I’m sad.

Congrats, Rachel and Dave! The least objectionable of the final teams won. Now, use some of your new winnings for a marriage counselor.

At least the scenery of the countries was nice. I just wish it was used on a better cast of teams.

If TAR does another All-Star season, Bopper and Mark better be first on the list.

NEXT!!

Three things:

1: The Amazing Race should never again include such a spoiler in a preview for an episode. I really wish I didn’t know about the missed roadblock; it would have made the finale enjoyable.

2: The Amazing Race should never again engage is stuntcasting – especially that which involves bringing contestants from other reality shows on board. Rachel is a thoroughly unpleasant personality and was one reason that this season sucked.

3: It was such an unfortunate end for Vanessa. She and Ralph were my favourite of the final teams.

Well I have to give it to Vanessa for still managing to finish the Japan roadblock even though I was wincing at looking at her ankle.

But congrats Rachael and Dave on tying history with the wins and making history for the WORST REASON EVER! (And then recovering, Rachael dismantling the roadblock, and making history again. Now let her break up with Dave.) More importantly, the other 2 teams that were constantly grating didn't win. I can live with that.

I'm satisfied with Rachel & Dave winning. Would've preferred BB, but as long as Art & JJ were far from winning, everything is all good. I think it says a lot about Rachel & Dave's competency that even with the great mistake they made, they still came in first place.

Considering I didn't like any of the remaining teams going into this week, that was a pretty exciting finale. Unbelievable that Rachel & Dave missed the Roadblock - even more unbelievable that they managed to win after that! It was great fun to see Art try again and again to slide down that hill :)

Rachel (of Dave and Rachel) is one of the best female contenders ever - I'm quite happy she won - she really deserved it.

Yay! I'm actually really happy that Dave and Rachel won. I remember before the first episode aired, when I was reading bios, that I wanted this team to win. So glad I chose right.

Did anyone notice that when the four teams were at the Hiroshima memorial, all the teams got a few sentances to say about Hiroshima except for Art/JJ, who just said 'very powerful, man'? What jerks.

Karma's a bitch, boys. You follow a cab when you complain about Brenchel doing it and then you get lost. Even though they still got second place and I'd rather if Rachel and Brendon beat them. If Rachel had stayed calm, they would have.

Very intense second half. A lot of shuffling of the three teams. And poor Vanessa, but I'm actually proud of her. She actually went out with a bang. She pushed through the pain, never gave up and did well. And Ralph is hilarious.

I'm not so much glad for Rachel and Dave as I am hugely relieved that Art and JJ squandered the lead Rachel and Dave accidently gave them, but, yay! A team with one insufferable asshole won instead of a team with two of them.

I felt bad for Vanessa during the Roadblock, but she wouldn't have been in that position if she didn't panic and make Ralph do the Roadblock every time they were in last. Sad that she toughed it out only to be eliminated, though.

Please stop going on TV, now, Brendon and Rachel. Please?

The only tension was the race for second place - Art & JJ were too miserable looking in their talking heads to possibly have won.

At least everyone was gracious on the mat.

Well good race, Rachel & Dave.

Here's hoping for a better season next year.

I could not believe that Rachel and Dave were able to still come back and win after that!! I thought it was going to be Brendan and Rachel who got there first and were turned around, for the on foot mistake, but nope.

A lot of their bickering annoyed me as usual, but he just seems to be one of those types in the military who can't turn off being an officer/NCO when they get home (not unusual in the slightest). I still teared up a little when she cried a little on the mat talking about being separated for a year. I feel ya girl!!

Definitely glad that they won!

Congrats Rachel and Dave... well mostly Rachel!!!! That was one exciting end and I thought for sure that Rachel and Dave were toast. I thought having to double back to complete the roadblock surely meant defeat, but I have to give them kudos for keeping their heads in the game and winning.

I would imagine that they have access to military mental health services, which would include marital counseling. Maybe a better suggestion would to be get Dave out of the service?

Rather anti-cllmactic resolution to the missed Roadblock. How did they end up finding the final task initially, though? Bad directions?

Best possible outcome. I guess.

I always like the season recap challenges so I'm sorry that there wasn't one this time around.

Agree completely. I kept waiting to see who messed up and got to the finish line by mistake.

The numbers of mistakes in this final leg was pretty staggering. Art & J.J would have had it if Art could have just made it down the slide.

Yeah for Rachel and annoying husband. She smoked that leg.

Eat dirt Art and JJ. Then eat some more. They beat your ass 3 more in a row.

Bummer for Vannessa, instead we got more Wenchel whining =gag=.

Brendon was almost borderline normal. He's like a cat trainer. or something.

Fun Season. It is what it is.

It seems like there is usually a 3rd place team way behind. This time it was close. I enjoyed that more Somehow, I don't think bitter agent will forget that the other one cost him a 500,000.

Please CBS..bring back Team Kentucky but have them do some strength training

Our long national nightmare is over. Congrats to Rachel and Dave - they certainly dominated the race over its many legs so if anyone "deserves" to win, it's them. God, what a control freak Dave is, literally backstreet driving while Rachel is piloting the jet ski. I'm surprised he lets her dress herself without instructing her.

How funny that Brendon and Rachel were the most amiable team on the final leg, at least until they went to the wrong place. She was even in the right in their fight in the cab - she was obviously frustrated but did not resort to tears and only started getting angry after Brendon unfairly and prematurely accused her of being "crazy Rachel" in the cab on the trip back from the stadium. That would provoke me too. He was rolling around in self-pity in the backseat while she was determined not to focus on their mistake.

Is it wrong that I spent the two hour finale more concerned about which team would NOT win? Farewell, Art and JJ. Karma exacts its just revenge at the perfect moment. I wish we could track down their cab driver and thank him for getting lost.

Rachel and Dave are still together...we knew that from a pre-race interview with an Army publication. Good.

They both are tough, tough competitors...and deserved the win.

And so glad neither the BP or BB teams won.

Interesting that Dave told that one taxi driver he'd been in the army...past tense, apparently. I believe he is an assistant professor at U. of Wisconsin-Madison, but I thought he was also still a recruiter.

Well, when all was said and done, this is how the team averages worked out, based on how they placed each leg:

1) Rachel & Dave: 1.83
2) Art & JJ: 2.25
3) Brendon & Rachel: 3.41
4) Bopper & Mark: 4.6
5) Vanessa & Ralph: 4.91
6) Nary & Jamie: 5.5
6) Joey & Danny: 5.5
8) Kerri & Stacy: 6.8
9) Elliot & Andrew: 8
10) Dave & Cherie: 9
11) Misa & Maiya: 11

That final leg was actually quite exciting, comparatively. Art & JJ make a comeback after I thought they were out, Brendon & Rachel made a mistake with their clue, Rachel & Dave missed an entire Roadblock and still managed to pull off a win. Good finale.

I'm just so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so happy that Art & JJ didn't win. In the end, that's all that matters

My TV station decided to air an add for a weather app during part of the final episode, so that was nice. Kinda missed the part from Dave and Rachael doing the lifeguard thing, to Art and JJ doing the second roadblock. When they got to the end and were told they messed up the roadblock, I was terrible confused. I didn't know how one could screw up shaving ice. Figured the mistake was Brendon and Rachael going by taxi.

No surprise where they were going in Hiroshima. And hrm, you are going to a Japanese TV station. I wonder what you will be doing...

Is it just me, or was the floating garden skyscrapper in the last season? I distinctly remember it. Would have been nice to see something new. I'm sure there a few things to do in Japan...

It was nice that Ralph was of the approach "Screw the million, it's not worth you suffering." Also nice for Vanessa to push through it.

Figured that Dave and Rachael would be fine after missing the ferry. One, not many good challenges to do at dark, and no pretty places to see. Two, makes bad TV to have the leg decided in the first 5 minutes.

As for the second part, kudos to Art and JJ for catching up. But really, a surfer and a seal (or whichever is was) are the twins? Twins implies something similar. Perhaps of the same species.

Again, kinda missed a key part of the last episode, but good job on Dave and Rachael for making up their mistake. Glad they won, my favorite of the remaining three. Didn't really have an issue with them. They had their moments, but I've seen far worse. And they were pleasant (or at least I can't remember them being rude) to the locals. And it was far from one sided, as Rachael could definitely hold her own.

And that is my random ramblings...

If Rachel had stayed calm, they would have.

That's kinda like, "If only the iceberg hadn't shown up, the Titanic would have been just fine." Apparently, melting down regularly , whining, crying whenever anything goes wrong or the going gets tough, and getting nasty are her default modes. As soon as Vanessa was removed from the picture, I remembered why I really, really disliked BBRachel.

Speaking of Vanessa, I actually felt sorry for her this time around. For a change, she wasn't playing at being a Mean Girl, and she did tough it out at the Japanese game show.

Still wish Bopper and Mark were in the finale. Darn.

They were the only team that I sort of liked after about the halfway point of the season, but I don't think there's any way they would have won. They just weren't strong enough racers. I think the chicken game show in Japan would have done them in, based on Bopper's bad knee and Mark's heat stroke just a couple of legs ago.
