Congrats, Rachel and Dave! The least objectionable of the final teams won. Now, use some of your new winnings for a marriage counselor.
At least the scenery of the countries was nice. I just wish it was used on a better cast of teams.
If TAR does another All-Star season, Bopper and Mark better be first on the list.
NEXT!!

1: The Amazing Race should never again include such a spoiler in a preview for an episode. I really wish I didn’t know about the missed roadblock; it would have made the finale enjoyable.
2: The Amazing Race should never again engage is stuntcasting – especially that which involves bringing contestants from other reality shows on board. Rachel is a thoroughly unpleasant personality and was one reason that this season sucked.
3: It was such an unfortunate end for Vanessa. She and Ralph were my favourite of the final teams.

But congrats Rachael and Dave on tying history with the wins and making history for the WORST REASON EVER! (And then recovering, Rachael dismantling the roadblock, and making history again. Now let her break up with Dave.) More importantly, the other 2 teams that were constantly grating didn't win. I can live with that.

Did anyone notice that when the four teams were at the Hiroshima memorial, all the teams got a few sentances to say about Hiroshima except for Art/JJ, who just said 'very powerful, man'? What jerks.
Karma's a bitch, boys. You follow a cab when you complain about Brenchel doing it and then you get lost. Even though they still got second place and I'd rather if Rachel and Brendon beat them. If Rachel had stayed calm, they would have.
Very intense second half. A lot of shuffling of the three teams. And poor Vanessa, but I'm actually proud of her. She actually went out with a bang. She pushed through the pain, never gave up and did well. And Ralph is hilarious.

I felt bad for Vanessa during the Roadblock, but she wouldn't have been in that position if she didn't panic and make Ralph do the Roadblock every time they were in last. Sad that she toughed it out only to be eliminated, though.
Please stop going on TV, now, Brendon and Rachel. Please?

At least everyone was gracious on the mat.
Well good race, Rachel & Dave.
Here's hoping for a better season next year.

A lot of their bickering annoyed me as usual, but he just seems to be one of those types in the military who can't turn off being an officer/NCO when they get home (not unusual in the slightest). I still teared up a little when she cried a little on the mat talking about being separated for a year. I feel ya girl!!
Definitely glad that they won!

I would imagine that they have access to military mental health services, which would include marital counseling. Maybe a better suggestion would to be get Dave out of the service?
Rather anti-cllmactic resolution to the missed Roadblock. How did they end up finding the final task initially, though? Bad directions?

I always like the season recap challenges so I'm sorry that there wasn't one this time around.

Agree completely. I kept waiting to see who messed up and got to the finish line by mistake.
The numbers of mistakes in this final leg was pretty staggering. Art & J.J would have had it if Art could have just made it down the slide.

Eat dirt Art and JJ. Then eat some more. They beat your ass 3 more in a row.
Bummer for Vannessa, instead we got more Wenchel whining =gag=.
Brendon was almost borderline normal. He's like a cat trainer. or something.
Fun Season. It is what it is.

TONS of marital counseling available, and all of it free.

How funny that Brendon and Rachel were the most amiable team on the final leg, at least until they went to the wrong place. She was even in the right in their fight in the cab - she was obviously frustrated but did not resort to tears and only started getting angry after Brendon unfairly and prematurely accused her of being "crazy Rachel" in the cab on the trip back from the stadium. That would provoke me too. He was rolling around in self-pity in the backseat while she was determined not to focus on their mistake.
Is it wrong that I spent the two hour finale more concerned about which team would NOT win? Farewell, Art and JJ. Karma exacts its just revenge at the perfect moment. I wish we could track down their cab driver and thank him for getting lost.

They both are tough, tough competitors...and deserved the win.
And so glad neither the BP or BB teams won.
Interesting that Dave told that one taxi driver he'd been in the army...past tense, apparently. I believe he is an assistant professor at U. of Wisconsin-Madison, but I thought he was also still a recruiter.

1) Rachel & Dave: 1.83
2) Art & JJ: 2.25
3) Brendon & Rachel: 3.41
4) Bopper & Mark: 4.6
5) Vanessa & Ralph: 4.91
6) Nary & Jamie: 5.5
6) Joey & Danny: 5.5
8) Kerri & Stacy: 6.8
9) Elliot & Andrew: 8
10) Dave & Cherie: 9
11) Misa & Maiya: 11
That final leg was actually quite exciting, comparatively. Art & JJ make a comeback after I thought they were out, Brendon & Rachel made a mistake with their clue, Rachel & Dave missed an entire Roadblock and still managed to pull off a win. Good finale.
I'm just so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so, so happy that Art & JJ didn't win. In the end, that's all that matters

I'm afraid that's how the Emmy Award folks will look at it too... Oh well, it was a nice run.

No surprise where they were going in Hiroshima. And hrm, you are going to a Japanese TV station. I wonder what you will be doing...
Is it just me, or was the floating garden skyscrapper in the last season? I distinctly remember it. Would have been nice to see something new. I'm sure there a few things to do in Japan...
It was nice that Ralph was of the approach "Screw the million, it's not worth you suffering." Also nice for Vanessa to push through it.
Figured that Dave and Rachael would be fine after missing the ferry. One, not many good challenges to do at dark, and no pretty places to see. Two, makes bad TV to have the leg decided in the first 5 minutes.
As for the second part, kudos to Art and JJ for catching up. But really, a surfer and a seal (or whichever is was) are the twins? Twins implies something similar. Perhaps of the same species.
Again, kinda missed a key part of the last episode, but good job on Dave and Rachael for making up their mistake. Glad they won, my favorite of the remaining three. Didn't really have an issue with them. They had their moments, but I've seen far worse. And they were pleasant (or at least I can't remember them being rude) to the locals. And it was far from one sided, as Rachael could definitely hold her own.
And that is my random ramblings...

If Rachel had stayed calm, they would have.
That's kinda like, "If only the iceberg hadn't shown up, the Titanic would have been just fine." Apparently, melting down regularly , whining, crying whenever anything goes wrong or the going gets tough, and getting nasty are her default modes. As soon as Vanessa was removed from the picture, I remembered why I really, really disliked BBRachel.
Speaking of Vanessa, I actually felt sorry for her this time around. For a change, she wasn't playing at being a Mean Girl, and she did tough it out at the Japanese game show.
Still wish Bopper and Mark were in the finale. Darn.

They were the only team that I sort of liked after about the halfway point of the season, but I don't think there's any way they would have won. They just weren't strong enough racers. I think the chicken game show in Japan would have done them in, based on Bopper's bad knee and Mark's heat stroke just a couple of legs ago.
