From Comcast.net:

Klaus tries to leave town with Elena, but he encounters resistance from a new enemy. Meanwhile, Bonnie gets Abby to help her with a difficult and dangerous spell.

Possible brain hemorrhage? God, Elena is such a self-absorbed bitch. "If that makes me the bad guy, then fine" Yeah Elena, you'll lose those people who are technically dead anyway, but the future humans who'll die because of vampires don't matter. Also, Stefan and Damon need to dump her sorry ass. Yeah, hell yes if she chooses one she should lose the other, that's how it works. She is just like Katherine, but at least Katherine owns it.

I really thought Klaus was going to pop up at the end in the car while Stefan and Damon were driving.

That was a pretty good episode. I liked the twist of Elena being connected to Alaric. I never thought I would do it but I was rooting for Klaus to actually fight back at the end and not die. I really, really liked him this episode but I kinda figured Bonnie's spell would go to Klaus and not Alaric. I wonder what is wrong with Elena at the end when she collapsed. Bonnie, now that Abbey said the spell took darkness, I hope her character goes down that route. Bonnie (and Kat) would do good doing dark.

Ooh I wonder if she is connectecd to Klaus, somehow some way. Didn't it take the other vampires connected to Finn a while to die. Maybe not but it's a thought.

Yes! Finally, after two seasons, Klaus is dead! Although I didn't mind him in the first half (I enjoyed his banter with Damon and his mini fight with him), the second half made me wishing he was dead so I'm glad it finally happened.

I really did like the scene with all the kids hanging out. That was actually needed.

Damon/Stefan are still awesome as brothers. And I was so worried Bekah would be the one to die. Alaric is finally doing something with the Council, though, so I guess it's alright.

Jeremy, why must you be the wiser brother? I'm glad he's not taking everything sitting down. He's probably the only one fighting for some normalacy in life.

Great episode, overall.

Caroline tied up and tortured. Again. Well,I guess they haven't gone to that particular plot line in a few months so it was time.

Klaus vandalizing Gilbert Gables wasn't nearly as cool as Elijah with the coins. I mean really, Klaus, your brother casually blew out a store-front with and underhand toss, but you have to overhand hurl a paper to break a small window? Weak.

So Elena dies and that will kill Evilaric. Now if only Bonnie knew a spell that could temporarily stop someone's heart... Alternatively, would turning Elena count as "dying"?

I admit I did not see the twist of desiccating Klaus coming. Nice reveal there, show.

It was also nice to see Elena admit to some of her flaws, like stringing the Salvatores along. It shows some self-awareness that she's sorely been lacking. Of course, she shit all over that by only being concerned about keeping Tyler, Caroline, etc., alive.

How did Alaric get into the mayor's house? Was she actually dumb enough to invite him in accidentally?

Wow, finally the let Elena admit she isn't perfect and tells her side of the story. Also this is the Elena Glibert I love; Brave, determinded, loyal, who will get her people out by any means necessary. So the Salvatores confirm her worst fears, she can only have one of them and the other one will leave town. So she's putting of the decision because she loves them both.

Also yay, Rebekah's still alive, but unfortunately can't leave that dick of a brother to the wolves. Damn you Klaus screwing up awesome characters from beyond the grave, also Yay dead Klaus.

Also why doesn't Elena just turn into a vampire; seriously then Vampire Alaric dies, and the council members, Caroline, and Tyler stay alive. I'm annoyed no one even brought this up as an option. Also did they just forget about him what's the plan on that front.

As for Elena and the rest of the gang not willing to save humans they don't know to prevent Caroline, Tyler, Stefan, and Damon from dying. I get that. It's not Elena's responsiblity to end the vampire horde, and she loves them. It's not Caroline or Tyler's responsiblity to die for the greater good. They're just tyring to keep their loved ones alive, and that's reasonable.

Oh yeah, I meant to mention Elijah's coin tossing versus Klaus' newspaper route. Elijah wins because he shattered the whole damn glass. Klaus only broke a small piece of the window.

So, that was the big spell that caused Abby to lose her magic? I know she said that doing the spell will make Bonnie go dark, but I feel like I'm missing something here. Didn't Abby lose all her magic because she used almost all of it up to trap Mikael? Did she say anything about going dark? So I presumed the spell would be so big and so powerful that it would physically exhaust Bonnie. But that was the spell? Really? And it killed Jeremy for 2.5 seconds. I guess I expected a whole lot more.

I'm thinking Elena will turn into a vampire next episode, from the whole 'we'll always be brothers even after Elena dies' and Alaric being linked to Elena and Elena probably hemorraging.

I hope Alaric doesn't die. He is a better villian than that whiney baby. A paper? Jeez. Elijah did that and it was way cooler. Klaus was such a lame ass villian. Glad he is gone. and he better be gone for good. Jeremy needs to join Alaric on team take out all the vamps. I know I was supposed to be on Damon and Stephen's side but how is evil Alaric wrong? I don't want to see Caroline,Tyler or Damon die but look at how much pain Damon and Stephen have caused Jeremy and Elena. I see Elena stuck in the middle if Jeremy and Bonnie join team Alaric.

I have been thinking that exact same thing ever since I found out that doppelganger blood was use to make the originals. Since Esther used Elena's blood to connect Fin with all his sibling, I was thinking that since a vampire life started with the doppleganger, it will end with one too. At least I was hoping. This episode made me love Klaus, and hate him all at the same time. I love when he save Caroline, and I love it when Elena saved Klaus. I was pissed when instead of being appreciative, Klaus wanted to kill Elena. WTF? I much rather he decide to turn her, instead of killing her. Up until Klaus decision to kill Elena, I was on team Klaus.

I love when Klaus told Caroline to go home and stay there. However I love Tyler standing up to Klaus even more. Way to go Tyler. I was glad that Jamie wasn't in this episode, although I was hoping he would get killed off in this episode. I knew that Bonnie was going to put Klaus to sleep. I felt sad when they did. The way he look at Stefan and Damon was heartbreaking. I now wonder what is going to happen to Rebecca, and the rest of the originals?

That's exactly what I turned to Mr Munchie and said. But I did like the picket toss, along with Damon's "Missed me!"

I found I was kind of sad to see Klaus desiccated. And Stefan's face as it happens and look at the body worry me a bit. I thought for sure he was going to turn out to still be compelled or something and was going to turn on Damon.

Poor Caroline. That girl literally gets tortured way too much.

Is drinking the best cure for severe blood loss? I can't imagine so.

I think Elena should pull a Katherine and choose to be with both. Go ahead. Why not?

Really loved the gang at the end, made me think back to season 1 before all the vampire business, they should have more scenes together was really nice.

Why didnt Caroline vamp speed away from Alaric instead of running to her car? lol that really took me out of the scene.

So now Klaus doesnt want hybrids and just takes Elena's blood why didnt he do that before?

Klaus vandalizing Gilbert Gables wasn't nearly as cool as Elijah with the coins.

This I agree the scene was actually so hilarious to me, a newspaper? a ball? Lol I dont know if it was supposed to be funny but it made me laugh.

Bonnie, now that Abbey said the spell took darkness, I hope her character goes down that route. Bonnie (and Kat) would do good doing dark.

When she was doing the spell it seemed like she was enjoying it way too much.

Yes! Finally, after two seasons, Klaus is dead!

Lol dont get to excited it was only the entombing spell he will probably pop up again.

I guess I expected a whole lot more.

I was also confused about this but I am wondering if it is possibly that maybe Bonnie is more powerful than Abby was when she did the spell? I dont think there was a lot of vampires running around when Mikeal popped up and Abby probbaly didnt have to do a lot of magic, while Bonnie has been doing a lot therefore becoming more powerful. Even Emily seemed quite young and she was very powerful. I wish they would delve more in how exactly witches magic work.

Also yay, Rebekah's still alive, but unfortunately can't leave that dick of a brother to the wolves.

I just don't get it. How many decades/centuries has Rebekah spent daggered in a coffin because of Klaus? I don't get the loyalty, even between brothers and sisters, when is enough finally enough? I did feel sorry for Becky, missing the big dance again and obviously disappointed. I'm surprised she didn't compel some kids to clean up, but maybe that was the only way she could still participate in some small way. I don't know why I sympathize with this character, but I do. She's right, she never got to live. And as long as she stays in cahoots with Klaus, I don't think she's going to get her chance.

How much blood did Klaus drain from Elena? Would she really be feeling well enough to do tequila shots after losing that much blood? It was fun to see the kids together though.

Eh, sick of the love triangle already! Bring back Catherine, and then each brother gets a doppleganger. Plus, I miss Catherine.

I also kept waiting for Klaus to pop up in the backseat, surprised that he didn't.

That episode didn't go down the way I thought it would, but it was great. I didn't see many of those twists coming.

I enjoyed the character pairings in the various scenes. Rebekah and Caroline seemed to have reached a mini peace treaty, and I loved that Caroline saved Rebekah, but BOO to Rebekah for standing there and watching Alaric drag Caroline off into the school. And then she didn't tell Tyler or Nick that Alaric had Caroline.

I was surprised that Rebekah decided to throw a hissy fit over Klaus' insisting to take Elena along when they left town. She should have figured he wasn't going to leave her behind.

I loved the Bonnie and Damon scenes this episode! Their interaction had the perfect pitch and blend of contempt, but grudging respect. Damon fed Bonnie his blood to save her. One point for Damon, considering she left him hanging on a hook not long ago. I like them much better when they are snarking and bickering rather than the outright "I hate you/I hate you too!" exchanges. And when Damon said he was on Team Bonnie, I laughed. Who thought they'd hear that line?

Although having said that, Bonnie is now clearly on the road to being Evil Bonnie. All those little dark swirly lines going into Bonnie and her orgasmic reaction, was the beginning of the dark magic taking root.

The scene with Klaus and Caroline was bittersweet. He does have that soft spot, and when he told Caroline they'd save Elena, he said it with such feeling, I thought he really intended to keep Elena safe. I guess that didn't last for long.

The real question is whether or not Klaus was telling the truth about the blood line. Will that lull them into thinking it's not a problem if they kill Kol? I can see Rebekah and Elijah living to continue on, but Kol could be a candidate for a takedown.

Tyler saving Elena was sweet. He finally got his moment, and he got to be in on the final Klaus tussle.

Damon and Stefan always look so good when they are together in the frame. I love those double leather jacket shots! All episode Elena was all about Stefan. Always picking Stefan. Although it seemed that it was Damon's phone that was ringing. I think she's going to go Damon in the finale.

And at the end with Jeremy? Steve McQueen, again with the inappropriate touching between a brother and sister. When he reached out and stroked the side of Elena's face, I yelped. Oh no! Too sexy for a brother to caress his sister that way!

What is Alaric planning now? Liz and Carol might be in for a rough time next week.

Sleep well, Klaus. I am going to miss that crazy motherfucker. The look he gave Stefan shared was heartbreaking and it seemed as though Stefan wasn't as completely unaffected.

The brothers bonding was sweet but felt a little forced. I guess the joviality of those scenes are a precursor to the gloom and angst of next week.

Based on this episode, I am predicting that Elena will choose Damon next week. So much Stefan Stefan Stefan in this episode to be anything else. The boys do have the right idea about gallantly leaving town.. Regardless of her choice, I just can't see the three of them co-existing peacefully. If they were that evolved, they would have explored a polyamotous relationship.

I can't even with Damon's hair. Those choppy bangs. Ugh.

I hope Katherine is back next week. I miss the psychotic bitch!

Seeing them all together in the kitchen made me think "can Klaus please, please, please stay dead and never, ever come back," because it was such a reminder of what I loved about the show in the first couple of seasons and how way off-track they've gotten. These are the characters I want to hear about and see interact with each other on a weekly basis, not Pouty McWhiny and all his bloody Originals.

Sigh. I don't have much faith in that happening, though. If Klaus simply must come back, I hope they'll at least wait a little while. Really, though, I was surprised that Klaus didn't just pop up again at the end of tonight's episode with some "now I'm really mad" hissy fit-- it's an uncharacteristic moment of restraint this season, since they just can't seem to get enough of that Klaus.

Bad Alaric is so like 1000000000000000 times a more scary and interesting villain.

I dont care for the triangle but it really is annoying how the writers have made shippers in each corner. You have Rose telling us she is rooting for Damon/Elena and in this ep you have Klaus saying he ships Stefan/Elena. The triangle is dragging now, I hope she will finally choose so we can finally move on.

I really did like the scene with all the kids hanging out. That was actually needed.

Definitely needed that scene. Lately the show has gotten away from the things that the characters are fighting for. I think that's why some fans are thinking "why doesn't Elena just turn and GTFO of Mystic Falls?"
Sidebar: No one taught those kids how to take a shot? I mean, none of them have parents or other friends, so I guess it's plausible. Where I come from, it's bad luck not to tap it on the counter/bar/table between the toast and taking the shot. Maybe that's just a Texas thing? These kids don't need any more bad luck, so hopefully that's not a thing in Virginia.

I also really liked the scene at the end with Elena and Jeremy. I like that she finally came out and said that it may not be right to side with vampires, but she has to fight for the people she loves. I can't hold it against her that she chooses the people she loves over the "greater good." Don't we all do that in a lot of ways? And I loved that Jeremy was thinking ahead to the potential danger for Elena that she hadn't considered. I mean, it's not like she's short on people watching her back, but something about the moment reminded me that I don't hate Jeremy. (lingering resentment over the Delena cockblock...) Their bond is another one of those things holding Elena back from turning.
Sidebar 2: Steven and Nina have just a hint of sexual chemistry that freaks me out a little, since they're supposed to be siblings. Then again, Nina could have chemistry with a wall because she's that hot/awesome.

I have mixed feelings about Elena's speech to the brothers and their discussion afterwards. I liked that Elena is finally a teensy bit self-aware, but she never really admitted having feelings for Damon. I guess it was just implied? It kind of bugged me that after that conversation about her not wanting to lose either of them, they made the "mature" decision for one of them to leave town, even though it would hurt Elena... Seems to me that the more mature thing to do would be to man up and stay, even if it hurts, because you love Elena too much to hurt her like that. Not that I'm ever a fan of Elena getting her way, and I actually don't get why everyone bends over backwards to make her happy. But, the brothers both do, so that seemed a little out of character. I loved that Damon hesitated to say that he would leave, either for the reason I just mentioned or because he doesn't want to lose her even as a friend. Stefan making the suggestion made him the tragic martyr, yet again. (Ugh.)

I did like that the brothers bonded, but it felt really awkward. I guess that's the point...? And really, what kind of bonding is it to decide to press pause on being brothers for 60 years because of a girl? They seem to have freakishly similar taste in women, so they need to learn how to be brothers regardless or they'll never actually get to be brothers. Plus, what if she turns? Do they just stop being brothers? Yeah, Julie Plec touted it as this big, mature bonding moment, but it was weak and actually told me that they don't care enough about each other to fight for their bond.

Wanted to claw my eyes out when Klaus was pimping Stelena. Really, show? You need the freaking villain to exposit about why I shouldn't hate Stefan? None of the pro-Stefan arguments (morality, sanity, etc.) work when they're coming from the lunatic who actually likes Ripper Stefan and prefers him over nice Stefan. Klaus should be Team Delena, since he wants Stefan to be his boyfriend. I guess Klaus was too busy kissing Stefan's ass to think it through. (Ugh, what a crap villain. Glad he's gone.)

That being said, even I will admit that it was cute that Stefan said he would come with them. I had been wondering why that option hadn't even been discussed-- both brothers just packing up and going where she goes. They're clearly not above being that pathetic, so it seemed logical.

Evilaric trying to rev up the council was interesting. Not sure how I feel about it. I was kind of bored with the council the first time around, so I really hope they aren't the new/recycled big bad for next season. Though I have no idea how the Scooby Gang will weasel their way out of the council knowing who all the vampires in town are... And I'm surprisingly interested to find out. Damn you show!

Finally, the ending: WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. F***?!?! (I literally screamed that at my TV.) Regrettably the promo spoiled the suspense, but still. What the crap happened to her?! Can the link between her and Evilaric go both ways? Really, it kind of seemed like the place where she cut her throat was bleeding again. I assume a vamp gave her blood since the cut was healed... And the blood from her nose and ears was consistent with a head injury, which she also sustained, so maybe the vamp blood is why she wasn't that hurt. But then why did it her wounds suddenly open up again? Damn you show!

P.S. Not nearly enough Matt this week. <3

Matt Davis plays a good villain.

So glad Klaus is finally gone, and I'm hoping he stays that way. I'm glad they didn't kill off Rebekah this week, though. She has grown on me (which probably means Alaric will get her next week or something).

At least Elena finally explained what she's thinking with the Salvatores, and it makes a little bit of sense, given that she really has lost almost everyone. Still, Elena, if you wanted both brothers in your life, you had the right idea in season 1 when you were dating Stefan and being friends with Damon. Where you went wrong is when you started leading both of them on, sometimes in the same day. (If they weren't brothers and this wasn't the CW, maybe you could propose a threesome, but that's not going to work in this case.) I did find it interesting that Damon seemed hesitant to agree to leave if Elena chooses Stefan. I am hoping they resolve this somehow next week, but we clearly aren't going to have one Salvatore leaving to do his own thing for an extended time, right? I think turning these relationships into a season apparently based on The Bachelor(ette, in this case) was a bad idea.

Interesting twist at the end with Alaric going to the Council. I'm curious to see how that plays out.

This episode was so frustrating, because it showed me that this show can be good when the writers don't half-ass it. The Bad: The triangle and Mary Sue Gilbert. I still don't understand why everyone has to give up everything to save Elana's humanity. Let her turn and live forever with her fan club. She can split her time between the brothers or sleep with both of them. I don't care, I just want them off my screen. They are taking time away from the characters I care about.

Why can't Elena become a vampire? She'd still have everyone she loves (even Jer-who she sorta cares about) and the threat would be removed. Her BFF would make her a daylight ring-she wouldn't miss a thing. She established that she cares about vampires much more than people. What is the downside?

The Good: Everybody Else! Bonnie got a storyline. I look forward to her getting into dark magic. Caroline and Tyler are together and awesome as hell. Alaric told the council everything. I can't wait to see where this storyline is going. Maybe next week Elena will die (a girl can dream:) the mopey Salvatores will disappear and Caroline will become the new lead to this show.

1) HELL YES! For Tyler standing up to Klaus and helping Stefan and Damon off him. Totes poetic justice that it was Stefan and Tyler dealing the blows, BTW.

2) Loved the scene with the kids at the end. I hope it's foreshadowing for a Junior Council.

3) Please oh please let Caroline and Tyler have a decent SL with their moms that gets kicked off and continues into next season. If we could watch them have to step up and take over the Council or something, that would be sooo awesome.

4) Jeremy is AWESOME. I loved him being bitchy to Stefan at the beginning of the ep.

Evilaric was trapped in the school until sunset, since he didn't have a magic ring, so whatever they were going to do, they had to do it before then. I was kind of wondering why they just didn't toss his ass outside and 3 vamps and an Original should have been able to hold him until he burned.

Elena hit her head pretty hard when she fell, so there's probably some sort of brain damage or something.

My two favorite scenes in the entire episode involved the seperation of the triangle from hell. The kitchen scene with all of what Elena called her family, included everyone except Damon and Stefan. And I have to say Elena seemed to very happy. And the Stefan and Damon in the car was perfect, I like the brother so much more without Elena. The interesting thing about the agreement that Stefan and Damon to leave no matter who Elena choses, is the agreement was made on the assumption that Elena would never turn. Damon's in 160 yrs. none of this will matter. I find it extremely selfish of both Stefan and Damon to expect an 18yr old to commit the rest of her life to either one of them. They have lived over 100yrs., they have had 100 yrs worth of lovers, adventures- it does seem fare that they wont give her the same opportunity to enjoy life as they have had. I am very disappointed in my Salbros.

Why didn't Alaric just steal Caroline's ring so he could get out of the school?

Why can't Elena become a vampire? [...] What is the downside?

The constant urge to kill people... Getting stuck in "the other side"/limbo when you die because you can't find peace... The triangle continuing ad infinitum...

I was thinking he may have been remembering that he promised never to leave Elena ever again.

Awww now I'm going to have to rewatch it. Love him.

I can't even with Damon's hair. Those choppy bangs. Ugh.

Haha for some reason, I actually really like it. Definitely better than the mullet/man-bob he was working with at the beginning of the season. It was hideous in 3x19, though. I blame it on the rain that was happening when they were shooting. Humidity is a bitch. Actually, now that I think about it, Damon's hair was one of the best things about the first 6 episodes of the series, which were overall cheesy and weird. Can he have that hair again? Regardless, I still choose Damon 3x19 humidity hair over Stefan's glued "hero hair." I think if Elena ever tried to touch the hero hair, he would lose his shit. Girl needs a guy with hair she can run her fingers through!

I've been wondering, when Elena was cutting her throat to stop Evilaric from killing Klaus, why did she do that? No one had had the chance to fill her in on the Salvatore bloodline. I guess the 1/4 chance was enough?

I'm so glad to see empowered Elena again! She had already saved herself and Caroline long before the brothers Salvatore even arrived. And she was badass enough to seriously injure herself (again). Not sure I would be able to do it. I hope this Elena is here to stay because damsel-in-distress Elena is even more grating when I remember the moments when she is badass.

I didn't hate Bonnie in this episode! I really liked that she stood up to Abby. That bitch doesn't deserve to breathe the same air as her daughter. (Since apparently TVD vampires do breathe and their hearts do beat.) I usually don't even like Bonnie, and even I want Abby to die in a fire. On a lighter note, Damon's "Team Bonnie" comment was just wonderful. I definitely prefer them snarky and reluctantly teamworky and not flat out hateful. Promo for next week looks pretty Bamon teamworky too, so that should be good. Any character that teams up with Damon automatically sucks less to me during that time.

Elena hit her head pretty hard when she fell, so there's probably some sort of brain damage or something.

Ah! Epidural hematoma! Blunt head trauma with loss of consciousness, followed by a lucid (awake, functional) period, then rapid deterioration and often death. (I knew med school would come in handy eventually.)

So if Klaus died, why isn't Taylor dead? Or is Klaus just deadish like Mikael was? If Elena really cared about them, she would realize that they need each other more than her and dump both their asses?
